Aug 10 (Reuters) - Tata Consultancy Services has received alerts alleging the possible exposure of certain employee-related data, India's largest IT firm said on Monday, adding that there was no indication that customer data or systems have been impacted.
The information referenced in the alerts appears to be over-four-year old and limited to basic employee information, TCS said in a statement, without offering further details including who has issued the alerts and when.
TCS said it has had safeguards in place for over two years against the manner in which this attack was carried out. Its own operational systems have not been impacted, the IT firm said.
"Based on the current review, these controls remain effective, and the Company continues to monitor the environment closely," it said.

On August 4, Tenable Holdings (NASDAQ:TENB) announced that it now covers every major AI platform and developer tool through its Tenable One platform, adding Google Gemini to a list that already included Anthropic Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise, and Microsoft Copilot. It is a bet that as companies rush to adopt AI, someone needs to watch where the risk is hiding, and Tenable wants to be the company holding that flashlight.
The scale of the problem Tenable is chasing is hard to ignore. The company said it detected 457 million AI-related security issues across more than 7,000 organizations, averaging 62,000 exposures per organization over 30 days. That is the kind of number that makes the case for exposure management on its own. Tenable One AI Exposure now extends discovery to every major LLM, all major Model Context Protocol deployments, and AI-native development tools like Cursor, Windsurf, and Trae, roughly doubling its coverage of sanctioned and shadow AI in one release. Beyond just finding the exposures, the platform lets security teams act on them directly, creating tickets in Jira or ServiceNow (NYSE:NOW), or firing off alerts through email, Slack, or Teams. That combination of visibility and Tenable's Hexa AI engine, which automates remediation tasks, is what the company is positioning as a full loop rather than another dashboard ****** ody checks.
The business results back up the demand story. Tenable One made up half of the company's new sales in the second quarter, evidence that customers are consolidating onto the full platform instead of buying individual point tools. Second-quarter revenue came in at $268.5 million, ahead of management's guided range of $263 million to $266 million, while operating expenses fell to $195.8 million from $200.3 million a year earlier. That combination flipped a $14.7 million net loss into a $3.8 million net profit, and adjusted profit jumped 40% to $57.9 million. The stock is up more than 40% in 2026 on the back of that improvement, yet Tenable's market capitalization of $3.6 billion is still a fraction of CrowdStrike Holdings (NASDAQ:CRWD) and Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ:PANW), whose combined market cap tops $450 billion.
That gap shows up in valuation too. Tenable trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 3.7, well below its own historical average of 7.1 since going public in 2018, and far cheaper than Palo Alto Networks at 22.9 times sales or CrowdStrike at 38.1 times. But cheap multiples usually come with a reason attached. Tenable's revenue grew 8.6% year over year in the quarter, modest next to CrowdStrike's annual recurring revenue growth of 24% to $5.5 billion. Some of Tenable's profit turnaround came from cutting costs, including in growth-oriented areas like marketing, rather than from accelerating sales. That is a reasonable way to prove discipline, but it raises the question of whether faster growth is coming or whether the company is simply managing a slower-growth business more efficiently.

That's the answer. I'm not going to do the online recipe thing and tell you about that time I did this and that and the other before I get there with 4 sections and 3 false endings so you accidentally click on a Carnival Cruise Line ad instead of knowing how many onions to add. In the hours since he traded 100 of your favorite prospects for Adley Rutschman and dumped 23-yr-old, former No. 4 overall pick Marcelo Mayer an hour later for a left-handed reliever, Red Sox Poobah Craig Breslow has been modestly and somewhat widely accused of grossly overpaying for two players, albeit in contrasting scenarios. In one case, he dealt the star; in the other, he acquired one. Some critics hated it both coming and going, and while we do not personally judge them for all-too-human mistakes of ****** yses, they are incorrect. This was good. Craig did good.
In an MLB that existed before today, before today's actions under the cloud of impending labor warfare, perhaps there would have been self-restraint. Maybe it was just the third straight annual sacrifice of the best player in baseball to the Dodgers the day prior, but the ****** pers were off and phones were lighting up, both those of the team and mine with push alerts. I ****** ume it wasn't just mine. Any inhibition league-wide was tossed to the wind, the getting was good, and Bres, treating his prospects correctly, got his guys. Whatever the counterarguments, the prospects will grow back, and this year's team is now inarguably better via the Rutschman addition. Inshallah.
If I find it hard to quibble, it could be because at the FanDuel Sportsbook the Sox have the 5th best odds, -$1500, to win the whole dang thing! To be fair to the Rays — which doesn't feel natural, but whatever — they're also at -$1500. Both teams are ahead of the Phillies at +1900, the Cubs at +2200 and the Angels and Mets at a cool +100000 each. (Perhaps you can predict baseball?) Anyhow, the Yankees are the only team with shorter odds in the AL than the Sox and the Rays at +600. But they stink, so all is fine.
However this season ends, it's reignited a spark around here that hasn't been lit since 2021 and hasn't roared in nearly 10 years. The Blue Jays were two outs away from winning it all last year and changing the whole labor narrative, some say, tho ultimately I don't think by much. Meaning the Sox have a shot. While I love that the Dodgers (a preposterous +160) do their thing, they're up against a emboldened, whiny club of failsons who've had it out for them from the word go and this is something of a last stand. The only other thing that can bring the Dodgers down, seemingly, is the Sox, who just swept them in LA. They're now Sox likely to make the playoffs (-950) and are closing in on the division (Rays -110, Yankees +155) at +430. The sportsbooks plainly recognize, respect and reflect Bres's ambition. The reward is ours.

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform that lets institutions mint, redeem, and manage Ripple USD (RLUSD) through one console.
The company also invested in Notabene, a compliance firm, to add identity checks and transaction authorization to its stablecoin network. Standard Custody & Trust Company, a New York-chartered trust firm, issues RLUSD under state financial regulation. Jack McDonald, an executive at the company, called the Notabene deal a step toward globally compliant stablecoin transfers.
"Bringing together $RLUSD, Ripple Payments & Notabene's trusted institutional network to help scale compliant stablecoin payments," McDonald said.
Ripple Mint replaces the platform-only setup institutions previously used for RLUSD operations. Users can choose a web console for manual oversight, or new application programming interfaces (APIs) for automated workflows.
The system tracks transactions in real time and sends webhook alerts for fiat receipt, minting, and onchain settlement. Consistent reference IDs tie every stage together, which simplifies reconciliation for exchanges and market makers.

Hazardous smoke from Canada's wildfires is spreading across the Northeast and Midwest, triggering air quality alerts, health warnings and concerns that conditions could worsen in the days ahead.
Some of the country's worst air conditions were reported Wednesday, July 15, in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, while New York Governor Kathy Hochul said on social media that smoke and haze from Canadian wildfires were creating unhealthy air conditions across the state.
New York City is already feeling the impact ahead of Sunday's World Cup final in neighboring New Jersey, with wildfire smoke pushing air quality into unhealthy territory. Officials urged residents to reduce strenuous outdoor activity and take extra breaks outside as forecasters warned smoky conditions could persist through the end of the week.
