NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) biggest lingering investor concern was customer concentration, CNBC reported. Nvidia relies on hyperscalers Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, along with major buyers Meta and ****** eX, for an outsized share of revenue, and in May began splitting its data center reporting into "hyperscalers" versus everyone else, a group it calls AI clouds, industrial, and enterprise, or ACIE. In the first quarter, the two segments were nearly even, at $37.9 billion for hyperscalers and $37.5 billion for ACIE, with ACIE growing 31% versus a slower pace for hyperscalers. CEO Jensen Huang has said the "easiest go-to-market" is hyperscalers "because there are only five or six of them," versus "250,000 companies" in the broader industry Nvidia hopes to reach.

Music legend Dolly Parton spent decades as one of country music's most beloved icons, but a new report claims that image never won over longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who reportedly turned her away from the magazine's cover multiple times. Rescue workers in bright orange uniforms used excavators, shovels and ground-penetrating radar to scour the now-buried site of the Gyirong border crossing.
The border crossing became a grisly emblem of the devastation that followed the collapse of a glacier on the Nepal side of the border on August 26 after videos showed a black wave of water, mud and debris sweeping over it with little warning.

The Athletic has determined that former NFL reporter Dianna Russini violated newsroom standards with her relationship with Mike Vrabel, the head coach of the New England Patriots.
On Thursday, The New York Times-owned Athletic released the findings of the newspaper's internal investigation into 51-year-old Vrabel and 43-year-old Russini's relationship.
Conducted by Mike Semel, an editorial director for standards and quality at The Athletic, the report comes after Russini resigned from her role in April following outrage over pictures that emerged of her and Vrabel — who are both married to other people — hugging and holding hands.
Although the review concluded that Russini violated her workplace's conflict-of-interest rules by not disclosing her relationship with the coach, Semel did not find any inaccuracies in her reporting about Vrabel or his teams. He reviewed 903 articles, 204 podcast episodes, and 77 videos, and conducted 14 interviews with staffers at the paper before coming to a conclusion.
"Russini's relationship with Vrabel was in clear violation of The Athletic's standards," the report said. "Regardless of whether the relationship was romantic, it was a breach and should have been disclosed."

Tim Curry's cause of death has been revealed eight days after his passing on Aug. 25.
According to documents obtained by People from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" actor died of coronary artery disease. The report also cited his history of health issues including his 2012 stroke and kidney cancer. While these ailments contributed to his death they were not the underlying cause.
The actor died last week at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, 14 years after he suffered a paralyzing stroke. He maintained a presence in the public eye through the intervening years through fan conventions, social media and his 2025 memoir "Vagabond."
"Though widely known for his inimitable, flamboyant characters and colorful stage performances, his greatest legacies to those who knew him were his curious, expansive mind and generous, gentle heart, both of which remained open and filled with anticipation until his final breath," Curry's team shared in a statement last week.

Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA) just posted a quarter that would make any other chipmaker blush. On its August 26 earnings call, the company reported $96.2 billion in revenue, more than double what it made a year earlier, and said AI demand has crossed into something it calls an inflection point. But buried inside the good news sat two admissions that matter just as much: memory costs are rising faster than expected, and Nvidia is now underwriting some of its own customers' growth. Both cut against the simple growth story.
Data center revenue reached $89 billion, up 117% year over year, and the ACIE segment, which covers AI labs, cloud providers, industrial and enterprise customers outside the big hyperscalers, grew 138% year over year to $40.0 billion. Management said that segment now represents roughly half of Nvidia's data center business, a sign that governments and specialized cloud operators are becoming nearly as important as Amazon or Microsoft. Sovereign AI revenue, sold mostly through regional NeoCloud partners, grew 35% sequentially and more than tripled from a year ago, and those partners are expected to exit the year with 8 gigawatts of installed capacity, up from roughly 3 gigawatts at the end of 2025.
The bigger shift is how much of each data center dollar Nvidia now keeps for itself. Management said the revenue potential per gigawatt of capacity has climbed from $18 billion in the Hopper generation to $40 billion with the upcoming Vera Rubin platform, as Nvidia sells the CPUs, networking gear and software around its chips rather than just the chips themselves. Networking revenue hit a record, up 18% sequentially, with Spectrum-X Ethernet sales growing 2.6 times year over year. Amazon deepened its own commitment too, agreeing to deploy an additional 2 million Nvidia GPUs through the second quarter of fiscal 2029 alongside new Vera CPUs, while adopting Nvidia's Omniverse and robotics software for its warehouse fleet.
None of this looks like a company running out of runway. Nvidia returned $26 billion to shareholders in the quarter, split between $20 billion in buybacks and $6 billion in dividends, with about $99 billion still left on its repurchase authorization. Global venture funding into AI topped $400 billion in the first half of 2026 alone, with roughly 70% of that money earmarked for compute, which happens to be exactly what Nvidia sells.
Growth this fast is not free. Gross margin held at 75% this quarter, but CFO Colette Kress told investors it will bottom out at 71% to 72% in the fourth quarter as memory component costs spike, and that the size of those price increases has already exceeded the company's own expectations and is set to climb further into next year. Operating expenses are rising too, up 11% sequentially to $8.2 billion, with guidance near $9 billion for the next quarter, and inventory swelled to $31.6 billion as Nvidia stocks up ahead of the Vera Rubin launch.

BEIJING, Aug 29 (Reuters) - The threat of a lake formed after a glacier collapse bursting near the China-Nepal border where a devastating flood occurred earlier this week has decreased, Chinese authorities said on Saturday, as its size appears to have shrunk.
Satellite images from Thursday to Saturday morning suggest that water in the lake – straddling the China-Nepal border at the confluence of two rivers – has been slowly flowing through, decreasing the reservoir gradually, state broadcaster CCTV reported citing the Water Resources Ministry.
The ministry said satellite imagery of the surface area of the lake at Purepu Tsangpo river showed it was 99,000 sqm in size on early Saturday morning – around the size of 14 football fields combined – having shrunk by 21,000 sqm compared with images from Thursday.

JENNERSTOWN -- The Jennerstown Speedway Complex hosted its crown jewel race of the season Saturday, Aug. 29.
For the ninth time, the Motor Mountain Masters was held at the storied track. Despite a rainout earlier in the year and the CRA backing out just over a week before the race, chief pit steward Mike Belardi and the Jennerstown staff put together a stout field of 22 drivers.
Standouts from out of state along with Jennerstown Speedway weekly competitors battled for $10,000 and the Crimson Jacket.
For the first time, the jacket is headed North of the border, as 19-year-old Chase Pinsonneault from Belle River, Ontario claimed the victory.

The mountain range along the Nepal-China border has its dangers, most recently seen this week in the flash floods spurred by a glacier collapse that have killed hundreds and brought a wide swath of destruction.
The mountains are also a draw — home to millions of people with generations of connection to their environment, as well as many visitors who come to trek up some of the world's highest peaks or visit religious sites.
That has become clear in the aftermath of the floods, with people from at least 30 countries joining the hundreds of the region's residents among the missing.
People in that region of Asia have been traversing the mountains for centuries, such as traders moving their goods along a part of the route system known as the Great Silk Road.
Certain ethnic groups like the Sherpas in Nepal developed an expertise in mountaineering. In the mid-20th century, when the modern-day nation started welcoming in foreigners and tourism, Nepalis were tapped for their knowledge and guidance by explorers from elsewhere looking to make the climbs.

Oregon's offensive coordinator for the last three seasons, Will Stein, departed to take the head coaching job at Kentucky, he's replaced by OC Mehringer who's been the TE coach since Coach Lanning took over the program in 2022. Mehringer's only direct playcalling experience was a decade ago at Rutgers when he was of the youngest in college football history to do so, I didn't find much value on investigating it. Since then my reading of Mehringer's roles at Texas, FAU, and New Mexico has been as a strategist and gameplanner; there's quite a bit of oblique praise from head coaches and OCs in the literature over this time for his role in gameweek preparations, but no evidence about his down-to-down playcalling preferences.
It's also difficult to disentangle some of the idiosyncracies ATQ film reviewers have noted in Stein's playcalling over the last three years — positive notes on counter-programming defensive substitution rules, negative ones on forgoing "money down" opportunities for deep shots and an ***** ytically unsupportable habit for perimeter screens — from Mehriner's potential influence, since their time at Oregon overlaps. It's possible that some, none, or all of those qualities were unique to Stein and he takes them with him to Lexington. ATQ devoted considerable effort this offseason determining if any statistically valid ***** ysis could be performed to quantify Mehringer's effects on play sequencing or outcomes at Oregon or previous stops, and we concluded that nothing we could publish would meet our standards – there are just too many variables involved. We're just going to have to wait and see how Mehringer calls the game.
Otherwise, my expectation is continuity for the Ducks offense, and if anything a return to historical trends after a one-off dip in certain metrics from charting caused by an offensive line quirk in 2025 which it looks like the squad has firmly put behind them in 2026 and beyond. The coaching staff under Lanning all returns, as does starter #5 QB Dante Moore, five of the top eight skill producers on offense in addition to a key 2024 receiver coming back from injury, and the top talent pipeline in the conference:

UFC BJJ 10 will have two ***** le bouts, a return of one of their biggest stars, and a flyweight ***** le tournament. To add to that, these top Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) stars will all be competing in a completely new fighting surface. The deep UFC BJJ 10 card happens on TONIGHT (Thursday, August 20, 2026) inside the UFC's Meta Apex venue in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The second ***** le bout will feature UFC BJJ champ Rebeca Lima taking on two-time no gi world champ Brianna Ste-Marie.
The card will also kick off a tournament to crown the inaugural flyweight champion, and it will feature ADCC double champ Adele Fornarino and UFC BJJ bantamweight champion Cassia Moura on opposite sides of the bracket. The pair of pound-for-pound talents are all in on this tournament, as Moura will be looking to become a two-division champion, while Fornarino has decided to withdraw from the prestigious ADCC 2026 event for this ***** le opportunity.
The rest of the stacked card will also feature several BJJ champs and popular figures like William Tackett, Jalen Fonacier and Danielle Kelly, along with a promising scrap between Vagner Rocha and Andy Varela.

The latest Consumer Price Index showed prices 3.4% higher in July than a year ago, well above the Federal Reserve's 2% target. Energy prices jumped 14.7%, electricity rose 4.2%, and food increased 3%. Producer prices, meanwhile, remained 4.7% higher than a year ago.

The rings helped his résumé, but they absolutely hurt the way people remember his career. The changes are due, at least in part, to the stricter salary cap rules, including the first and second aprons. Criticism of this is growing louder… Isaiah Hartenstein: It's always difficult for us. These rules were introduced back then because of Kevin Durant 's move to the Golden State Warriors , to prevent teams from having too many players of that caliber. But currently, it's not working out as intended. We're a team that has built up players from scratch, who then have to be traded again because of the second apron. That's a shame. It was the same issue with my contract. It's not like the team doesn't want to pay you. But when you're in the second apron, it's no longer just a financial question; you're also severely restricted in trades.
