Promising Brazilian defender Vitor Reis looks set to have a role to play at Manchester City next season. The talented young centre-back shone out on loan at Girona during the 2025-26 season. Vitor Reis made the most of the opportunity to gain priceless first team experience at Girona and by playing week in and week out in La Liga. It does appear that the next step for Vitor Reis is to play a role at Manchester City. Right now, Vitor Reis is on holidays. Despite this, an exciting development has emerged that shows the young Brazilian defender is hard at work preparing for the next step in his young career.
Daniel Bocatto has provided a report for ESPN Brasil on the work that Vitor Reis is undertaking ahead of his return to Manchester City. Bocatto reports that Reis is working on his own with the intention of gaining weight and adding strength. Vitor Reis is an elegant and technically gifted defender but he does need to add strength and weight to his frame to handle the rigors of the Premier League.
It is also reported that Vitor Reis is focusing on his diet with the intention of eating healthier and to help with his goal of gaining weight and adding lean muscle mass. Furthermore, Daniel Bocatto reports that Reis has been undergoing regular blood tests to learn if he needs to add any supplementation to his diet. Lastly, it is reported that Vitor Reis is also undergoing monitoring throughout his time off, including his recovery time and sleep, in a bid to hit the ground running at Manchester City next season.
Vitor Reis has the raw tools to make it as a Manchester City defender. In possession, Reis is calm, composed and has the necessary ability to fit into City’s style of play. Reis is gifted on the other side of the ball also. He reads the game exceptionally well, times his challenges brilliantly and also is rarely beaten in one-on-one situations. However, physically, Vitor Reis does need to mature to cope with the demands of the Premier League.
Based on Daniel Bocatto’s update, Vitor Reis is putting in the hard work to prepare for life in the Premier League. The young Brazilian centre-back is leaving no stone unturned to physically prepare himself for the next step of his career. That is an exciting development as it shows that the drive of Vitor Reis matches his considerable talent. When Vitor Reis does begin pre-season training with the City squad, he will be physically prepared for what lies ahead. That should set the young centre-back up well for what lies ahead.

Florida left-handed pitcher Eli Blair, a rising sophomore, is entering the transfer portal. Blair announced the move on Monday on his social media pages.
The 6-foot-8-inch southpaw out of J. R. Arnold High in Panama City Beach, Florida, took the mound nine times as a true freshman. He finished the season with a 4.82 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and a 9-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 9 1/3 innings. Blair drew a 48.1% groundball rate and did not allow a home run. Opposing batters hit .278 against him.
Kevin O'Sullivan said the goal was to bring in more left-handed help, which was a signal that his current lefties weren't cutting it. Blair is the third Florida southpaw to enter the portal, joining McCall Biemiller and Rivers Kurland.

LUCKNOW: For Shubman Gill led Team India, who play Afghanistan in the second ODI at the Ekana Stadium here on Wednesday, this series is also an early marker on the road to the 2027 ODI World Cup. The immediate target is a series win but the larger canvas is already clear. In that context, every role and every combination will be examined closely. Beyond Gill and a few established names — fitness and form permitting — not many can take their World Cup places for granted.

While the focus will remain on Rohit Sharma, who continues to make his case against age and scrutiny, one player who appears to be strengthening his World Cup credentials is KL Rahul. For a large part of his career, Rahul was viewed primarily as a toporder batter. Over the last few years, he has transformed himself into one of India’s most dependable middle-order options in ODIs. His overall numbers in the format are impressive but his record at No. 5 has been significant. He has provided stability, acceleration and most importantly, versatility.

The Karnataka batter can absorb pressure when early wickets fall, rebuild an innings without panic and still find the gears required for a late surge. In a format where tempo management can decide matches, Rahul’s ability to move seamlessly between consolidation and counterattack gives India a rare cushion.

His recent form has only strengthened that case. After scoring a composed century in the one-off Test against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh, Rahul produced a sharp cameo in the first ODI in Dharamshala, finishing unbeaten on 39 off 19 ****** to hasten India’s chase in a rain-shortened, 25-overs-a-side contest.
131795652
“Rahul adapts to conditions and formats quickly, as he has proven in these two games,” India’s spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule said, adding, “If you send him at any number, he is somebody who will perform for you. He understands the situation. He will be an important member of the team.”

Rahul handed over the wicketkeeping gloves to Ishan Kishan in the opening ODI but he remains multi-dimensional. Whether he keeps wickets or plays as a specialist batter, his presence gives India flexibility. When Virat Kohli returns to the mix, that flexibility could become even more important as India work out how to fit experience, youth and role-specific options into a balanced XI.

India’s seven-wicket win in Dharamshala had several positives. Yet Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed, with a blistering 48-ball hundred, that the visitors have enough quality to punish any loose spells. That is why Wednesday’s game will not be treated merely as a formality.

Who is Colorado State football's top all-time recruit?
How many of CSU's top-25 recruits actually made big on-field impacts? How many are Jim Mora recruits before he's coached his first game as a Ram?
The Coloradoan's annual look at CSU's top 25 all-time football recruits is fascinating. Perhaps most notable for the 2026 edition is the Mora impact.
Seven of the top 25 either signed under Mora in the 2026 class or are committed to the Rams as part of the 2027 class.
Recruiting rankings really began in the early 2000s, so this isn’t a true all-time list. Recruiting has changed drastically, and some of CSU’s all-time great recruits came before the era of rankings.

I make 10 bold predictions before every Thunder season. It’s a fun exercise. Even more fun eight months later when I look back to see how wrong I was.
My general rule for bold predictions: There’s less than a 50/50 chance of them actually happening. Would I bet on my bold predictions? No. Do I directionally believe in them? Yes.
We begin this week’s edition of Mussatto’s Minutes by dusting off my 10 bold predictions from Oct. 21, 2025. Let’s see how I did.
Nikola Topic injury update: OKC Thunder guard undergoes back surgery
The Thunder was +200 favorites in the preseason. An implied probability of 33%.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced the signing of forward Kirsty Hanson from Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old scored 12 times for the Villans in 22 league games last season with only Alessia Russo and Bunny Shaw netting more times in the top flight.
"I'm absolutely delighted, it's an exciting time to be a part of this Club. I'm ready for a new challenge, and I'm always wanting to be better every single day," Hanson said after signing for the North London side.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is in full swing, and it hasn’t even been a week since the opening match yet there’s plenty of highlights being talked about. The first five days were packed with non-stop football action, and I don’t know where to start.
Whether it’s the chaotic opening match between Mexico and South Africa, the South Koreans mounting a comeback and winning, the heroic Australians beating Türkiye 2-0, Germany and Sweden both winning by five goals or more, or Ivory Coast winning with a 90th minute goal, this tournament has everything.
Anyways, after the previous matchday saw numerous goals but somehow ended up in four draws, today’s set of matches certainly did better than the last. While a win is in no way a foregone conclusion, you can expect goals and nail-biting moments to keep you on the edge of your seat!
In the 25th minute, Senegal played a through ball forward to Nicolas Jackson who beat Dayot Upamecano for pace and shot at the near post. The ball ricocheted off the post and bounced off the feet of a diving Mike Maignan in the French goal and out for a corner.
The last time these two teams faced was the 2002 World Cup in Korea and ******* an, with Senegal securing a historic victory over the then defending European and World Champions. Could the unthinkable happen?

After news broke that Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund would cease backing LIV Golf beyond this season, putting its future in doubt, Jon Rahm was asked in May about the status of his contract with the tour. “I don’t see many ways out,” the 31-year-old Spaniard answered pragmatically.
Rahm’s next steps appear dependent on whether LIV can secure external funding to continue operating beyond this year—if its 2026 schedule can even be completed—but in the meantime, his golden handcuffs haven’t been so bad. Rahm’s contract, which reportedly guaranteed him at least $300 million when the former world No. 1 left the PGA Tour in December 2023 to sign with LIV, has made him the world’s highest-paid golfer for the third consecutive year.
Forbes estimates Rahm hauled in $111 million over the last 12 months before taxes and agent fees, sending his total pay for the past three years north of $400 million. His compensation since last June includes an estimated $101 million in prize money and on-course bonuses as well as $10 million in off-course earnings from brand partnerships, appearance fees and licensing income. In addition to his contractual guarantee with LIV, which Forbes estimates to be worth $50 million for the past year, Rahm pulled in an $18 million bonus in 2025 as LIV’s individual champion for the second year in a row, and he has won two tournaments so far this season, helping push his total up 9% from the estimated $102 million he pocketed in the 12 months that ended in June 2025.
As a whole, however, golf’s biggest stars have seen their paychecks dip. Together, the sport’s ten top earners have made an estimated $536 million since last year’s U.S. Open, down 12% from last year’s $612 million and 29% from the record $752 million of 2023, the first full year to incorporate LIV’s initial wave of massive signing bonuses.
The decline is in part the result of LIV golfers Dustin Johnson and Phil Mickelson dropping off the list, with their original 2022 contracts having expired or nearing completion. The embattled tour also hasn’t made any big-ticket additions to its roster recently, leaving Bryson Dechambeau (No. 4 among the world’s highest-paid golfers with $52 million) and Joaquin Niemann (tied for seventh with $34 million) as the only LIV golfers to make the cut other than Rahm.

The Tennessee **** ans coaching staff is not concerned about 2025 second-round NFL draft pick Femi Oladejo’s recent absences from open practice after the first day of mandatory minicamp.
“It’s been unfortunate that he hasn’t been (at practice),” **** ans defensive coordinator Gus Bradley said on June 16. “But you do see it enough when you watch the tape (to) say ‘We have an idea.’”
That idea has yet to materialize in live practice reps this offseason.
The linebacker recorded 13 total tackles, two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits in 2025, before a season-ending right leg fracture against the Raiders in Week 6.
Under Bradley and new coach Robert Saleh’s leadership, Oladejo is transitioning from a 3-4 outside linebacker role to a more traditional defensive end role in the **** ans' new 4-3 defensive scheme.

Atlanta Falcons edge rusher James Pearce Jr., the team’s sacks leader as a rookie in 2025, has returned to the practice facility for Tuesday’s start of mandatory minicamp following a tumultuous offseason.
Pearce’s future with the team seemed uncertain when he faced three felony charges stemming from what police called a domestic dispute on Feb. 7 with his ex-girlfriend, WNBA player Rickea Jackson, near Miami.

On April 23, one of Pearce’s attorneys, Jacob Nunez, said Pearce agreed to enter a pretrial intervention program which would allow him to resolve the felony charges. Nunez said if Pearce completes a six-month diversion program without violation, the state of Florida will dismiss all charges.
Pearce was not with the team for the start of the voluntary offseason program in April.

It's been 35 years since the Washington Commanders won the Super Bowl. It's been that long since they were even part of the Big Game. They came close in 2024 when they reached the NFC Championship Game, but lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, who would go on to win the Super Bowl that year.
The Commanders had high hopes for 2025, but injuries derailed Jayden Daniels's sophomore season, and the Commanders won just five games. They look to get back on track in 2026, but there are still questions around the team's activity this offseason and if it was enough.
We won't know the answer to that question until the season starts, but the goal remains the same: Make the postseason and win the Super Bowl. Only one team can do that each year, though, and Bleacher Report has identified each team's current window to win the championship. For the Commanders, the window is 1-8 years.
This all depends on the direction of Jayden Daniels in a critical third season. If he can rebound after a tough, injury-marred sophomore season, the Commanders could have a chance to build a New England-like championship window. If he struggles to make an impact again, this could all go bust.
This season is definitely critical in Jayden Daniels' career trajectory. If he can't recover from last season's adversity, he will find himself on the outside looking in. An elite quarterback can suffer a down year and recover, so how he responds this season will dictate the direction of the rest of his career.

Texas A&M's success during the 2025 season, including the Aggies first appearance in the College Football Playoff, was mainly due to coach Mike Elko and his staff's ability to motivate and prepare the loaded 2025 roster for all five road games, resulting in four wins, including the memorable Week 3 road victory over Notre Dame that later solidified the program's CFP chances.
While road wins over LSU and Missouri, both in blowout fashion, were equally impressive, the regular-season finale loss to Texas has continued to haunt Mike Elko, who has yet to defeat Texas since the Longhorns joined the SEC before the 2024 season.
This offseason, before a record 10 players were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, Elko landed 17 players from the transfer portal, including Northwestern transfer edge Anto Saka, Tennessee transfer cornerback Rickey Gibson, and former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton, all of whom are expected to make an immediate and lasting impact.
This summer, outside of recruiting, Mike Elko has had some rare free time to speak to the media, making a stop on the Always College Football show, hosted by former Alabama QB and CFB ****** yst Greg McElroy, to discuss a variety of topics, including the Aggies' road success in 2025 and the road ahead this fall.
How will Texas A&M continue to dominate on the road in 2026? That will take the same discipline and consistent play on both sides of the ball, not just to have a chance, but to withstand the always raucous and intimidating environments, which include road battles vs. LSU, Missouri, South Carolina, Alabama, and Oklahoma. Here's what Elko had to say.

Bernardo Silva is set to join Real Madrid after leaving City this summer.
Bernardo made 460 appearances and scored 76 goals during a nine-year stay that heralded 20 major honours while at the Etihad.
But having departed the Blues at the end of the 2025/26 season, the 31-year-old now heads to the Bernabeu to ply his trade with Jose Mourinho’s La Liga side.
The Portuguese playmaker is no stranger to Madrid, having faced Los Blancos 13 times during his time in Manchester as well as scoring four times against them including a brace in our 2022/23 UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg triumph on the way to the Treble.
Bernardo departs having played a major part in our greatest sustained period of success.

New Mexico's forests are dying faster than at any time on record. In 2025, the state mapped 209,000 acres of trees killed by bark beetles and other insects, which was more than a 200% increase over the year before, according to a newly released report from the New Mexico Forestry Division. And the main impetus for that arboreal death was the state's dwindling water supply.
"At the beginning of January 2025, 35% of the state was in moderate drought and 20% in severe drought," the report read. "By the end of December 2025, 71% of the state was in moderate drought and 52% was in severe drought."
According to the report, New Mexico recorded its second-warmest year on record. The lower Rio Grande, the river that has sustained farming communities in the southern part of the state for centuries, is now a river of sand most of the year, as the aquifer underneath is dropping by more than a foot each year. The issue has to do with the dry conditions creating the perfect environment for bark beetles to kill trees in record numbers.
And 2026 is shaping up to be no different. "We had a bleak winter and little to no snowpack, and there are areas that are currently experiencing bark beetle attack," said Victor Lucero, forest health program manager for the New Mexico Forestry Division. Drought stress, he said, is the primary condition that leaves trees defenseless: stripping them of the sustained sap flow that is their only natural shield against infestation. "Things may change with respect to tree mortality if things remain hot and dry," Lucero said. The one scenario that could turn the tide: "If the summer monsoon rains arrive as predicted, this may improve the resilience of live trees to withstand bark beetle attack."
Now, just two miles of the Mexican border in the Chihuahuan Desert, Oracle and OpenAI are building one of the largest data centers in the country.

Tom Holland has addressed the rumors surrounding his wedding to Zendaya. In a recent interview, the actor firmly set the record straight but kept all details under wraps. His statement comes amid the couple's recent red carpet appearance at the Spider-Man: Brand New Day photo call in Madrid on Monday.
Speaking with Esquire, Tom Holland finally addressed the long-running speculation about his private wedding to Zendaya. Multiple rumors and statements have surfaced regarding the secret ceremony ever since fans spotted Zendaya wearing a sparkler on her left ring finger at the Golden Globes in January 2025.
When asked about the diamond ring, Zendaya's longtime stylist and friend Law Roach told Access Hollywood in March, "The wedding has already happened. You missed it." However, neither Holland nor Zendaya has ever given a definitive answer before, protecting their privacy. Meanwhile, multiple AI-generated photos had reportedly surfaced on the internet, further fuelling rumors about the wedding.
In his most recent cover story for Esquire, Holland has spoken out about the rumors for the first time. The actor even said that AI images led his grandmother to believe that she missed the invite.
When asked whether he had sent any messages to his family members, Holland stated, "No, because they were all there." Interviewer Henry Wong then said that he did not realize that the wedding had happened. In response, Holland firmly stated, "That's all you'll get on that."

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has dropped a major hint about Taylor Swift's wedding to Travis Kelce.
Mayor Mamdani seemingly confirmed the pop superstar will tie the knot with the Kansas City Chiefs player in the Big Apple over America's Independence Day weekend at the start of July.
During a press conference on Monday, he discussed the city's preparedness for a World Cup match at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, just across the river from New York City, on 5 July.
He said that he was "fully confident in the work of the NYPD" to provide a "safe experience" for sports fans, and continued, "We are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one."
Mamdani then went on to list other "big events" scheduled for the three-day holiday weekend, which will also mark the 250th anniversary of America's Declaration of Independence.
"We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding all happening at the same time," Mamdani added with a smile.

The scientists have been right about climate change all along, says former Vice President Al Gore on the 20th anniversary of the release of "An Inconvenient Truth," the Oscar-winning documentary about Gore's campaign to educate people about climate change.
When asked by ABC News chief meteorologist and chief climate correspondent Ginger Zee whether the film and its predictions on global warming hold up, Gore responded, "Unfortunately, yes."
"The scientists were dead right on all the important elements of it, and it really is insane that we are continuing to use the sky as an open sewer and we're trapping so much heat every day it's equal to the amount that would be released by 800,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every day on the earth," Gore said during an interview with ABC News at his family farm in Tennessee.
Solar generates more energy than coal in US for 1st time: Report
In a review of key claims by the documentary, ABC News found that the majority of the scientific observations made in "An Inconvenient Truth" have come to fruition or are on track to in the years to come. The last 11 years -- from 2015 to 2025 -- have been the hottest on record, according to scientific data from NOAA and the Copernicus Climate Change Service and summarized in a report released earlier this year by the World Meteorological Organization.

As the Housemaid actress recalled, she did her best to be there for her costar after Sweeney was caught up in controversy following her 2025 campaign for American Eagle jeans.
"I don't talk to her about it unless she wants to talk about it," Seyfried explained to British GQ in an interview published June 15. "I don't want to be a source of anything, but whatever you need. You need some fun, you need to laugh, you need cake with me? That's fine."
At the same time, the 40-year-old knew it would likely be a difficult period for Sweeney as she dealt with both The Housemaid promotional tour and backlash over the American Eagle campaign, which critics accused of advocating for eugenics by using the double entendre of "good jeans" and "good genes."

June 15 (Reuters) - Nvidia said on Monday it would raise $25 billion through a U.S. bond issuance, as it taps the debt market to ‌increase liquidity for the first time since 2021.
The debt financing was more than initially planned, ‌Reuters had reported earlier on Monday, citing two sources.
Investor demand for the bond sale hit $85 billion, one of the sources familiar with the matter said, declining to be named as the plan was still private. It was initially looking to raise $20 billion, the source had said earlier.
The bond consists of seven tranches of notes, maturing as late as 2056, according to a term sheet seen by Reuters.

Anthropic faces a new federal lawsuit alleging it misled subscribers about usage limits on its premium Claude AI subscription plans, according to The Wall Street Journal, with a customer seeking class-action status on behalf of others who purchased the plans since April 2024.
Filed Monday in the Northern District of California on behalf of Washington, D.C.-based plaintiff Karl Kahn, the complaint takes aim at two of Anthropic's premium tiers: the Max 5x at $100 per month and the Max 20x at twice that price. Subscribers pay for the promise of five or 20 times the computing access available on the base Pro plan, which runs $17 to $20 monthly. But the complaint contends the real limits fall short of that and are nearly impossible for users to pin down.
"The actual usage provided by the Max 5x and Max 20x plans is far below the advertised amount of usage," the lawsuit states, according to The Journal. It also seeks a finding that Anthropic's marketing of the plans is fraudulent.
After starting out on Claude for casual personal use, Kahn eventually pivoted to heavy coding work and moved up to the Max 20x tier this past April. A single five-hour work session consumed 15% of his weekly allotment, and the caps started cutting him off not long after he subscribed, according to the complaint. He "found himself needing either to halt his work, ration his usage, or purchase additional usage to ensure that he could complete his work," the lawsuit said. Central to the complaint are emails that Anthropic allegedly sent out in July 2025 detailing per-model weekly usage expectations for subscribers at each pricing tier.
Anthropic declined the Journal's request for comment.

Greenskeeper **** et Management stated the following regarding ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) in its Q1 2026 investor letter:
"ICON Public Limited Company (NASDAQ:ICLR) -39.3% was our primary detractor this quarter following the February announcement of an internal Audit Committee investigation into revenue recognition practices from 2023 through 2025. While the market's reaction was severe, we believe it was an overreaction. Management anticipates the revenue restatement will be less than 2% for each affected year. While disappointing, we believe this issue was an internal matter and will not have any material long-term impact on ICLR's ability to serve its customers. It is also unlikely to have a material impact on the company's $1 billion of free cash flow. We used the selloff as an opportunity to increase our position, and the stock has already begun to rebound. As the pharmaceutical environment continues to improve, we remain confident that the company will capture its fair share of clinical trial activity. With the stock trading at roughly 10x trailing earnings, we believe that the shares remain materially undervalued."
