The 2-run jog earned Devers his 61st and 62nd runs batted-in at the intimidating cavern that was/is Pac Bell/SBC/AT&T/Oracle Park, the second highest RBI total after Barry Bonds' 71 in 2001. Devers' 19 home runs at Oracle are the most by a player not named Barry Bonds and is tied with the '02 Bonds model for fifth most HR in a season at 3rd and King. It doesn't look like Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Parker Washington will have a new contract prior to the regular season starting.
According to Cameron Wolfe of the NFL Network, it is "unlikely" that a new deal will get done by the start of the season.
Washington is set to enter the final year of his rookie deal, and he is currently slated to be a free agent during the 2027 offseason.
Wolfe added that the Jaguars explored a deal in the Michael Wilson's range after he signed a three-year, $75 million extension with Arizona recently. However, Jacksonville and Washington could not come to terms.

No country on Earth buys as much from the United States as its northern neighbor. For American farmers, Canada is second only to Mexico as an export market.
A North American trade pact — negotiated by President Donald Trump during his first term — means that most American products enter Canada duty-free. Rankings of the world's most open economies usually put Canada near the top.
But when Trump looks at Canada, he says, he sees a predator out to cheat the United States and strangle its industries.
America has been "ripped off for 50 years by Canada," the president declared Saturday when asked if he was considering pulling out of the three-way agreement he signed with the leaders of Canada and Mexico in late 2018.

The foldable is the headline. It's expected to feature a 7.8-inch internal display, a 5.3-inch external screen, an A20 Pro chip, and a thickness of just 4.5mm unfolded, with pricing estimated between $1,999 and $2,399 and limited initial supply. It marks Apple's entry into the foldable category years after rivals — a potentially major new product cycle for one of the world's most valuable companies.
Here's the pattern every ETF investor should understand before today's close. Nearly two decades of data show that Apple tends to "sell the news" on launch day itself. AAPL averages a roughly 0.3% decline on iPhone launch days, with a median drop of about 0.6% — the classic case of anticipation being priced in before the reveal.
But the weakness rarely lasts. Apple has averaged a 0.5% gain the very next session (positive in 15 of 24 releases), and the longer-term picture is decisively bullish: AAPL has gained in the 60 days following an iPhone reveal 17 times since the original 2007 launch. The biggest such move was a 20% gain in the 60 days after the iPhone 11 reveal in 2019. In other words, launch-day dips have historically been buying opportunities, not warning signs. **** ysts have also downplayed fears about the ~$2,000 foldable price tag, arguing a premium halo product is unlikely to dent Apple's overall economics.

With the Yankees looking to track down the Rays in the AL East while also maintaining the cushion they have on the Red Sox, this interleague matchup against the Rockies was a couple of must win games. Colorado is closing in on 100 losses and is as beatable an opponent as there is right now, sorry to them. Well so far, so good for the Yankees as they've taken the first two games of the series. Tonight, they'll go for the sweep.
To try and accomplish that sweep, the Yankees will give the ball to Max Fried. This will be Fried's third start since returning from the IL, and he's been decent enough so far, allowing two runs in 9.1 combined innings. He still hasn't gone over 72 pitches yet, so it's still unlikely that he'll be airing it out for 100 or anything tonight, but we'll see.
As for the rest of the lineup, the big news is the return of Anthony Volpe. With Jazz Chisholm Jr. going on the IL, Volpe has been recalled and will play second base. He has been hitting decently since getting sent back to the minors, so we'll see if there's any correlation now that he's back in the bigs. Aaron Judge will get a planned day off, his first since being reinstated from the IL on Tuesday as Aaron Boone will take it slow with his superstar outfielder especially after Judge returned without a rehab ***** ignment. Jasson Domínguez will start in right field instead and bat third, flanked by Cody Bellinger and Luis García Jr.
Meanwhile, Ryan Feltner will take the mound for the Rockies. Feltner has a 5.91 ERA and a 5.27 FIP in his 106.2 innings on the season. The 30-year-old right-hander was having a decent year by Rockies pitchers standards until about mid-July, when a 2.1 inning eight-run disaster outing against Cincinnati ballooned his ERA north of five and he's stayed there ever since. His latest start was a mediocre one, where he lasted five innings and gave up four runs to the Cardinals, but he's got some seven-run outings in recent memory as the Dodgers and Nationals took him to task a couple of weeks ago.

Chinese independent refiners may be about to start reducing their processing rates as international oil prices rise and supply from major exporters such as Venezuela and Iran dries up as a result of U.S. foreign policy decisions.
"Teapots are unlikely to be able to afford a full shift to mainstream grades," an Energy Aspects ***** yst said this week, as quoted by Bloomberg. The so-called teapots are more sensitive to adverse oil market changes due to their refining margins being slimmer than those of state-owned majors. These margins have already fallen to breakeven, from around $10 per barrel in early July, Jianan Sun also said.
China imported 37.93 million tons, or 8.93 million barrels per day of crude oil in August, up by 6.2% compared to July, and further recovering from the decade-low seen in June, official Chinese customs data showed on Tuesday. The August import level was still 23.4% lower compared to the same month last year, but it's a marked improvement from the June lows of just 7.1 million bpd.
China slashed its total crude oil imports to a decade low in June, culminating three months of very low import levels amid high prices and constrained supply from the Middle East. This affected refinery output, which in turn contributed to the global fuel squeeze that is now set to deepen and extend in time as fighting in the Middle East continues and intensifies, pushing oil prices higher and sapping some refiners' appetite for the commodity.
With Venezuelan and Iranian crude all but gone, Chinese refiners will probably lean more heavily on Russian crude in the coming weeks. However, Russian crude prices are also on the rise on the futures market, in tune with all the other blends that trade internationally, which will likely put a lid on demand.

This week's Irish Open marks the start of a strong slate of DP World Tour events that will see a large contingent of international LIV Golf players mix with some of their notable PGA Tour peers as the former await clarity on their league's future.
Jon Rahm will tee it up in Ireland alongside fellow LIV members Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, Sergio Garcia, Adrian Meronk, David Puig, Tom McKibbin, and Thomas Detry. PGA Tour players in the field include defending Irish Open champion Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Patrick Reed, who has recently completed his one-year suspension from the PGA Tour for joining LIV in 2022.
Many of those LIV and PGA Tour players will also compete at next week's BMW PGA Championship, which is part of the DP World Tour's elevated Rolex Series and has a $9 million purse. The Irish Open, which begins Thursday, has a $6 million purse but still offers a key opportunity for LIV players to earn Official World Golf Ranking points as they remain banned from the PGA Tour amid LIV's uncertain future heading into 2027. The league laid off most of its staff last week and is still working on finalizing a new funding deal with BC Partners Credit, following the Saudi PIF's exit.
Rahm told BBC Sports on Tuesday that "time will tell" what happens regarding his playing future as he is "more than willing to fulfill" his LIV contract that has multiple years remaining reportedly still worth more than $100 million. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said last month that there are "no current plans" for another Returning Member Program like the one that brought Koepka back to the Tour in January—and was also available to Rahm and fellow LIV stars Bryson Dechambeau and Cam Smith.

The Los Angeles Dodgers recently revealed that it is unlikely that Shohei Ohtani will pitch again this season, and the four-time MVP also admitted that he will focus on hitting for the rest of the year.
Ohtani was having a stellar year on the mound, posting a 1.79 ERA in 14 starts. He had gone at least six innings 13 times, and losing him in the rotation is a big blow. Shohei Ohtani is dealing with some injuries that have kept him off the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but lately, his hitting has not been great.
With Ohtani reporting some discomfort in his right biceps and neck after a four-strikeout game on Wednesday, the Dodgers gave him four days off. In that time, the team has reportedly decided that it's unlikely he will pitch again this season.
"I'm going to be focusing on hitting moving forward," Ohtani said through interpreter Will Ireton on Monday, per The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya.
Ohtani has a 1.79 ERA through 14 starts this year, so the Dodgers are actually losing a very valuable arm. He has gone at least six innings in 13 of his starts, but at this point, his offense is more valuable to the team. The injuries that had kept him off the mound were starting to impact his swing, and a throwing progression was clearly not helping that.

The Swedish centre-back was the unlikely goalscoring hero as Celta fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against Getafe in La Liga.

Allan has been included in Manchester City's travelling squad for tonight's match against FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão. Also, he did train with his teammates yesterday. At this stage, it would be a major surprise if Allan wasn't at least on the bench for the opening fixture of Manchester City's 2026-27 UEFA Champions League campaign.
There would seem to be little chance that Allan would start tonight against FC Porto. He hasn't been at Manchester City for long and the Brazilian winger also wasn't fit enough to make the bench against Coventry City. Stranger things have happened but it would be unlikely that Allan will start tonight.
However, there is a chance that Allan could come off the bench tonight. Perhaps being an impact substitute may be the best way for Maresca to introduce Allan to the fold. The Brazilian winger is a quick winger blessed with quality dribbling skills and the ability to work hard on both sides of the ball. Maybe that is how Allan will make his City debut and tonight may be the right setting for Allan to play a small role for Enzo Maresca's side depending on how tonight's match unfolds.

She alleged that they want access to the royal family while maintaining their independent lives in the US. The Sussexes arrived in the country on August 26 and are reportedly looking for private accommodation outside London.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Fox News Digital that Harry and Markle's latest move to the UK could be more about testing the waters than a permanent relocation. She said, "I suspect they want the best of both worlds — access to Britain, proximity to the monarchy and the credibility that comes with Harry's royal identity, while maintaining the freedom and commercial opportunities they ***** ociate with life outside the U.K."
The commenter added that their current arrangement seems familiar to the "half-in, half-out" policy, which Queen Elizabeth rejected when they left the UK in 2020. She further cast doubt on the Sussexes' true plan, unable to comprehend whether they are back in the country permanently or simply want the experience of the "best of both worlds."
"Harry and Meghan never do what they say or say what they mean. One year ago, Harry told us the U.K. was not safe enough to bring his wife and children. Recently, another royal commentator, Lady Colin Campbell, shared an update on whether the royal family would accept the Sussexes, now that they're back. Seahawks cornerback Terrion Arnold starts the 2026 season on paid leave, due to eight felony charges arising from an alleged armed robbery and kidnapping. And while he can't practice or play, Arnold is with the team.
"He's in the building and being part of our program and learning the heck out of our defense," coach Mike Macdonald told reporters on Saturday regarding Arnold. "Keep training and stay ready for when there's an opportunity."
It's still unknown when an opportunity will arise. In general, players on the Commissioner Exempt list due to criminal charges remain there until the case is over and discipline, if any, is imposed by the league. But the NFL has deviated from that approach in the past; in 2024, then-Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers spent seven games on paid leave, returning before his case went to trial. (He was acquitted of domestic battery in January 2025.)
Arnold's next court date happens on October 5. A trial hasn't been scheduled. Barring a plea deal, it's unlikely Arnold's case will end before the conclusion of the 2026 season.
The overriding question is whether the league will stick to its general approach that players will remain on paid leave until the case ends, or whether the league will allow Arnold to return at some point later in the season.

It's unlikely that talk of Saturday night's explosively controversial final moments during Michigan versus Western Michigan will die down anytime soon. Nearly 24 hours later, however, NBC has finally offered an official statement on the controversial moment.
In the final seconds of Saturday night's tilt between Michigan and Western Michigan, quarterback Bryce Underwood's Hail Mary heave fell incomplete as the Wolverines looked to avoid a devastating upset in their first game of the season. While it looked as if Western Michigan was set to complete the upset, as the clock hit zero before the ball hit a player on the failed try, the referees ended up adding a second to the clock to allow Michigan one last attempt. Underwood ended up connecting with JJ Buchanan on the final Hail Mary try as Michigan walked off their opponents 13-12.
According to a statement and footage from the Big Ten released on Sunday, "Western Michigan's #18 started his jump from an established out-of-bounds position (left foot) and made contact with the ball with one second remaining on the clock". That footage contradicts what the stadium's clock and NBC's broadcast clock stated as the play ended, causing immense confusion amongst college football fans as the dust continues to settle on this controversial moment.

ATLANTA — Whenever Baylor has to make the ultimate call on Dave Aranda, it is unlikely to be clear-cut. He is too competent to crater and too well-liked to author his own demise, working at a school that would prefer not to buy out a football coach unless it has to.
But it is not a secret, least of all to Aranda, that his seventh season will be defined by decisions: The little ones he makes every week, followed by the big one his employer must render.
After the first of 12 data points is now in the rear-view mirror, it's imperative to start thinking about the question that can bring some of these fine margins into leader focus: How much credit does a coach get for doing the right thing but getting the wrong result?
Though perhaps not every fan would agree, you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone within the Baylor program who disagreed with Aranda's decision to go for two and a victory over Auburn on Saturday night after his quarterback, DJ Lagway, fought through an ankle sprain and threw a touchdown pass with nine seconds remaining.
Analytically, it was the right call. Emotionally, it was a risk worth taking. Practically, it was a no-brainer.

His role as an ambassador for the Saudi league, which runs until 2030 and which the striker was keen to honour, also proved to be an obstacle to a potential move to another country.
