Esparza, who maintained a following of over 30,000 on Instagram, was "attacked with firearm projectiles" on Sept. 10 at a taco stand in Ciudad Obregón, a city in northern Mexico, by a suspect who allegedly "fled on a motorcycle" with another individual, the Sonora State Attorney General's Office said in a translated statement.
