Kimberly Guilfoyle's latest diplomatic stop is drawing attention for what she wore, not what she said.
The 57-year-old U.S. ambassador to Greece visited the Ormylia Monastery in Halkidiki on Thursday, July 30, according to a report from Greek City Times.
For the visit, she wore a fitted turquoise knee-length dress with a plunging neckline and pointed-toe stilettos. By most financial measures, the second quarter at TFI International was strong.
Second quarter diluted earnings per share were up 41% to $1.65 from the corresponding quarter a year ago. EBITDA was up more than 11%.
But underneath that, and what came through in Monday evening's conference call with ****** ysts, is that the rise in profitability came from the Truckload operations at TFI, as well as its Logistics segment, while LTL, which provided 41% of the revenue, improved but not as much as Truckload.
The difference between the two at TFI (NYSE: TFII) was most stark in their respective EBITDA margins. It was 18% for LTL, and 24.1% for Truckload. (Logistics had a 16.3% EBITDA margin). In the first quarter, the respective numbers were 12.1% and 19.5%. While the percentage gain was more for LTL in the quarter, that measure of profitability continues to lag Truckload.
In one notable part of the conference call, CEO Alain Bedard and CFO David Saperstein talked about the differences in the markets for the two largest segments.

For the first time in nearly two decades, a new era has officially dawned at Pittsburgh Steelers training camp. Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show," veteran Steelers reporter Mark Kaboly revealed that the biggest storyline coming out of Latrobe isn't a specific position battle, but rather new head coach Mike McCarthy and the sweeping changes he has implemented in record time.
"It's the first time in 19 years now that we've seen something different up here at training camp," Kaboly noted, highlighting the stark contrast to the franchise's long-standing routines. "I say the story of camp so far would be Mike McCarthy and just how he has changed virtually everything about this organization and how they go about their business in such a small portion of time."

NEW YORK — David Stearns has barely seen all of the members of the team he constructed on the field at the same time, but that reality is fleeting.
As injuries mounted and underperformance permeated the Mets in 2026, the looming reality that the club might never meet its grand expectations has come to pass. And now, with the Aug. 3 trade deadline a little more than a week away, the stark realization of an overhaul cast a pall on the Mets season.
"I think we have to be open-minded. We've been very clear, Steve (Cohen's) been very clear that we expect to compete in 2027 — we have to keep that in mind," Stearns said. "We also have to make moves that that we believe are right for the organization, and so we're sitting here nine, 10 days out for the deadline, and we're not going to close any paths down right now.
Now, the team that Stearns pieced together this offseason with the belief that a World Series could be attainable will be systematically dismantled. With two months left in the season, the sights have turned toward the future.
"This season didn't go as we anticipated. It's extremely disappointing," Stearns said. "I am extremely disappointed that we are in this situation, but I am also very aware we are in this situation. It's my job to do what's in the best interest of the organization right now."

Jürgen Klopp did not promise Germany would win the World Cup in 2030 but instead said he wanted supporters to be proud of the way they play.
It was a stark admission from the new Germany coach, who has signed until the next global showpiece in four years, that the national team has fallen down the pecking order of world football.

Emily Brislen, who led the Louisville softball team, is the girls coach winner. The boys coach winner is Bryan Ashby, who guided the Hoover baseball team.

Baseball fans in Greenville were in for a wild night on Wednesday. They witnessed a home run and a full-fledged brawl within a matter of seconds. During Greenville Drive's victory over the Hub City Spartanburgers, a home run celebration by one of the Red Sox's top prospects sparked a benches-clearing brawl as players from both teams clashed on the field. The 19-year-old Red Sox prospect was eventually ejected from the game.

Against Hub City, Gonzales drove in the winning runs with a massive three-run blast. He came to bat with Greenville already leading and extended it to 13-6. After launching his 13 homer of the season, Gonzales took his time around the bases while admiring his shot. As he crossed home plate, catcher Cal Stark threw some words in Gonzales' way, which clearly did not sit well with the young outfielder.
Teammates rushed in to hold him back, but keeping the 6-foot-5, 210-pound Gonzales in check was easier said than done. Even the umpires were reduced to mere spectators as Gonzales broke free and slapped Stark's mask, which absorbed most of the impact of the slap.
As the incident unfolded, both teams flooded the field, and the heat of the moment was hard to miss. Meanwhile, Gonzales' Greenville teammates struggled to get him away from the field and inside the dugout.

The moment that Pittsburgh Penguins fans feared would never happen took place Sept. 5 in a packed Mellon Arena media room, when Mario Lemieux stepped to the podium and presented 20-year-old Russian hockey star Evgeni Malkin with a No. 71 Penguins jersey.

UnitedHealth's stock is flying high after it raised guidance, but on its latest earnings call, ***** ysts zeroed in on an underlying margin divergence running right through the business.
After a +50% run over the past year, UnitedHealth (UNH) stock trades near its 52-week high, and on the surface, its latest earnings report was a clean beat. The company raised its full-year outlook, and the headline numbers looked strong. But the Q&A session with ***** ysts kept circling one critical tension: is the impressive turnaround in the large Medicare business strong enough to offset a new, worsening problem in the company's commercial insurance segment?
The core worry for investors is that stubbornly high medical costs in the commercial business are getting worse. On the call, management confirmed that cost trends are running "modestly above 11%," a deterioration from prior expectations. This is not a small corner of the business; if its margins cannot recover, it puts a real ceiling on the company's growth.
When pressed for the cause, management gave a surprisingly specific answer. The answer went beyond general inflation, pinpointing a federal arbitration process under the No Surprises Act that management ***** erts is being leveraged aggressively by select provider groups. More than a few have likened the object to the iconic "monolith" from "2001: A ******* e Odyssey." In that 1968 film, it was a sort of alarm mechanism on Earth's moon to alert aliens about human progress.
NASA has classified the Phobos monolith as a boulder. But Derakhshani notes the ******* e agency and the SETI Institute — a private organization looking for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence in the universe — were supportive of an effort in the early-2000s to send a robotic lander to the unusual feature of Phobos to take a physical sample for ******* ysis.

Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh sent a stark warning on bailouts during a testimony on July 14.
Warsh appeared before the House Financial Services Committee for the Fed's semi-annual monetary policy report on Tuesday and repeatedly said the central bank doesn't want to bail out failing companies, including those belonging to the crypto industry.
During the testimony, Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA-32) asked Warsh if the central bank would come forward to bail out failed cryptocurrency companies the way it rescued money market funds during the 2008 global financial crisis.

For the second straight season, Starkville will host the Mississippi high school football state championships.
Mississippi High School Activities ******* ociation executive director Rickey Neaves confirmed to the Clarion Ledger on July 15 that Mississippi State will host the 2026 MHSAA football championships.
The MHSAA board voted to hold the 2026 Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi Gridiron Classic Dec. 3-5 at Davis Wade Stadium. It will only be the third time in 10 years that Starkville has hosted.
Since 2016, the football championship games have been held at Mississippi State (2016, 2025), Ole Miss (2017, 2023), Southern Miss (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2024) and Jackson State (2020).

Manchester United’s summer has acquired shape, purpose and, at last, a sense of football logic. In a transfer market that can often resemble a chase after noise, reputation and panic, the latest developments around Old Trafford suggest a club responding to clear need. According to The Athletic, United are moving decisively in midfield, with Youri Tielemans set to join and Andrey Santos already through the door, two deals that speak to necessity as much as ambition.
The original report was wide-ranging, taking in much of the Premier League and beyond, but the Manchester United portion stood out because it addressed the area where repair was most urgent. The line that cuts through everything is stark and revealing: “Manchester United accelerated their midfield rebuild and are now set to finalise a deal for Youri Tielemans.” It is a sentence that tells the story of a club aware of the shortages in its squad and finally acting with conviction.

Tielemans, available because of a “£35million release clause”, has emerged as a sharp market opportunity. United have “identified an opportunity to land the 29-year-old midfielder” and, crucially, “he favours a move to Old Trafford.” That matters. In every successful rebuild there is an emotional as well as tactical dimension. Players who want the shirt, who understand the weight of the place and who see themselves as contributors rather than mere arrivals, tend to settle faster and carry themselves better.
For too long, United’s midfield has looked either overburdened or underpowered. The latest report lays out the issue with refreshing bluntness: “Very much so. Following the departure of Casemiro as a free agent and Manuel Ugarte’s serious knee injury, Kobbie Mainoo would have been their only senior, recognised and available central midfielder heading into the new campaign.” That is not squad imbalance, that is a warning siren.

VC funding for European biotech startups is on track for a record year, though the gap with the US remains stark.
According to PitchBook data, €800 million (about $912 million) has been invested in the ****** e this year, more than three-quarters of the total for 2025. At the current pace, deal value would surpass 2018's record of €1.2 billion.
The number of VC rounds involving European biotech startups is expected to increase modestly from last year, unlike in many other sectors. However, the median deal size remains below 2024's high of €3.5 million.
Swiss radiopharmaceutical startup Nuclidium's 105 million Swiss francs (about $130 million) Series B was the largest round to close this year. It is followed by a $115 million Series A for London-based RQ Bio, which develops therapeutics to prevent influenza in immunocompromised people.

You might have missed it because MLB is terrible at marketing its own product, but today was the Futures Game, the de facto All-Star game for minor-leaguers. It was also the second day of the MLB Draft, covering sixteen rounds in a single day, and the final day of the Mariners' current Road Trip From ****** , all conveniently happening at the same time – early on a Sunday here on the west coast. Like, 9 AM early. And also streamed on Peacock. Apparently while a helicopter hovered overhead directly next to the on-field mics. So it's actually more surprising if you did watch the American League prospects defeat the National League prospects, 6-1.
If you did tune in, hopefully it wasn't too late, because Kade Anderson appeared in the game for a flash. He was the AL squad's starting pitcher, and needed just ten pitches for his first and only inning of work. The box score will tell you that Anderson threw six of his ten pitches for strikes and the box score is a liar, because HP umpire Alex Shears engaged in a bit of nominative determinism and clipped Anderson for two pitches at the bottom of the zone that should have been ruled strikes.
Anderson's outing will likely be overlooked in favor of Pirates prospect Seth Hernandez – who might have been a Mariner if the Angels had actually taken Anderson as everyone expected them to instead of whatever it was they did in the 2025 draft – as Hernandez had a clean 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts where his fastball touched 101 mph. Big stuff, very nasty (was gifted a strike call outside the zone, not that I'm counting).
But Anderson was a quiet ****** assin on the mound, a model of efficiency cutting through the top of the NL lineup. He elicited a weak contact popout from leadoff hitter Eli Willits of the Nationals on the second pitch of his at-bat on a perfectly located fastball up and in. Anderson fell behind his next hitter, the Rockies' Roldy Brito, 2-1, as he couldn't quite get the feel for his changeup, but then dropped in a slider Brito swung over for a weak contact comebacker cleanly fielded by Anderson. The Brewers' Jesús Made ruined what should have been a clean 1-2-3 inning for Anderson, swinging at a 95 mph fastball in at his knees in a 1-1 count (should have been an 0-2 count) and managing to parachute it weakly into right field, where it dropped into no-man's-land between the second baseman and right fielder. But Anderson recovered against Rockies prospect Charlie Condon, getting a first pitch flyout on a slider that was actually the hardest hit ball all day against Anderson at 97 mph. Maybe it's a factor of pitching at ****** ey-Stephens Park, but Anderson seemed to know without turning around that the ball was destined for an outfielder's glove.

The pitcher from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, was ranked as the No. 80 prospect in the draft.
The 6-foot-8, 220-pound Lord played for South Walton, which won the FHSAA Class 3A championship. His fastball sits around 94 mph but can reach 98 mph. He also throws a curveball in the upper 70s and an occasional changeup in the low 80s.
Lord flipped his commitment from Florida to Mississippi State in November before coach Brian O'Connor's first season.

Argentina don’t do it the easy way but if their defence of their World Cup is increasingly unconvincing, it goes on and on. Kansas City ended up bouncing like Buenos Aires, part of the Midwest resembling an Argentina home game, but euphoric scenes and a glorious goal stood in stark contrast to an utterly uninspired display.
They may not care. Not when they have a grudge match against England to concentrate the minds and a spectacular strike from Julian Alvarez to savour, arrowed into the top corner at the Arrowhead Stadium. Just when it seemed Argentina were hopelessly over-reliant on Lionel Messi, someone else delivered a moment of extreme quality. Then another Argentina centre-forward, Lautaro Martinez, gave the scoreline a flattering sheen in the 121st minute.
And yet it was really a tale of two strikers, neither of them Martinez. Alvarez, with his belated first goal of the World Cup, sent Argentina into a second successive semi-final. Breel Embolo may have cost Switzerland a first in their history. They had levelled and were the better side when his red card, eventual and involving VAR, for diving forced them into a rearguard action. They looked likely to hold out for penalties, Argentina seeming to have precious few ideas how to break them down, until Alvarez’s explosive intervention.
So, once again, Argentina advance in a manner that showed their spirit but highlighted flaws. Theirs looked as simple a route as could be imagined through the knockout stages – Cape Verde, Egypt, Switzerland – but they turned it into an obstacle course. They have twice gone to extra time, conceded five goals and flirted with elimination at each stage. But they can win games of brinkmanship.
Lionel Scaloni could at least point to his input here. The third goal involved two replacements, Martinez following up to score after Thiago Almada’s shot was blocked. Almada was an impact substitute: he had already flicked the post with a 20-yard drive. Yet Argentina were short of creativity, lacking any threat on the flanks. When Messi had a are quiet game – which still produced an **** ist – they were underwhelming. The captain’s scoring run ended at nine consecutive World Cup matches, another of the statistics that may not be repeated. For too long, however, Argentina looked a one-man team when the one man was enduring a rare off-day. He stirred late on, failing to lob Gregor Kobel and then shooting just wide at the end of regulation time, letting fly a couple of times in extra time. But for much of the evening, he was strolling around Missouri as Argentina were drifting.

The Buffalo Bills under general manager/team president Brandon Beane have found quite a few late-round gems in the NFL Draft. It's been a point of joking—with some doses of seriousness—that Beane's late-round draft picks have almost been more effective than his premium picks.
At cornerback, for example, the Bills drafted Christian Benford in the sixth round after already having selected Kaiir Elam in round one back in the 2022 NFL Draft. It's fortunate that they did, too, because Elam has been a complete bust in his professional career, while Benford has risen to near-stardom in his.
So, when the Bills took a corner in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft and then backed it up with another corner in the sixth round of the same draft, there were some feelings of deja vu among the fanbase. Especially when the sixth-round pick earned a starting gig in Week One, albeit under much different circumstances, many fans thought that Beane had once again found a late-round steal at corner.
