Elon Musk's mother, Maye Musk, railed against the media for not being "proud" of her son's accomplishments, and leveled a conspiracy theory that all media outlets must lie about him or they'll lose their "funding."
Maye Musk appeared on the Pod Force One podcast on Monday, where host Lydia Moynihan asked, "How is it for you as a mother now to see your son who…was so celebrated, now become so controversial?"
"Well, you know, in my book, I do say 20 years ago, the media all hated Teslas," Musk said. "'It's going to fail, it's going to fail, it's going to fail.' And for five years, they hated Tesla. And then they realized that people are buying the Teslas. So then they started hating Elon and hating him on — and that's when I started going on Twitter and shaming the media, as well as the person doing the —"

Opening statement
Give all the credit to Duke. They're able to get out of here with a W. Obviously, one of the things that we've really prided ourselves on over the last five years, going to year six, is more games are lost than won. Something that we try to get right from day one since we got here. And I'm not diminishing anything Duke did. I just think that we did enough things to cause us to fail. Obviously, turnover a little bit, but I think it was more the penalties and the mental errors that just caused us to self-implode a couple times on really all three phases. So that's all on me. I got to clean up the details, just simple things from the way we communicate, the way we execute in critical moments, some things that could have easily been avoided. And just a shame, I apologize.
Obviously to get a sell out here and to have a crowd the way we did, winning is addictive. For players, coaches, and fans, you get used to having success in those moments. And when it doesn't happen, you're upset, you're ***** , you're mad, you're angry. And I definitely fall into that category. My Saturday's always a lot better. I got two girls at home that love to have a fun time. And when you don't have success, it just sits with you for seven days. So the part that you got to learn is you'll learn more and more. The more you go through these moments, you just learn so much more in moments of adversity than you do in moments of success. So this is definitely an adverse moment that we got to take advantage of. I ask them to have big eyes and ears tomorrow. As coaches, we need to set the standard early on in the meetings to accept the things that we need to do better and hopefully put ourselves in a position to get back on track sooner than later.
So I don't know anything about injuries. I know TJ went out there at the end. We had a couple guys go out that came back, but he's the only one that I was told wasn't going to return to the game after he went out.

In due time, future First-Ballot Hall of Famer Aaron Donald should make the Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams even scarier on paper than they already were. Sure, it's been two seasons since the monster interior pass-rusher last collapsed a pocket, but he's no longer the focal point of the Rams' defense. That honor, of course, belongs to Myles Garrett. For all intents and purposes, we should probably expect lots of fireworks from an older version of Donald, who will be double-teamed a lot less in his second stint with the Rams.
Unfortunately for the Rams and any of us who enjoy watching prolific, all-time pass-rushers, we won't see Donald do that when the Rams play the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, on Thursday. Why?
The simple and straightforward answer is that Donald, after being away from pro football for so long, isn't quite physically ready yet to subject his body to the inherent grit and grind of the game. As such, Donald didn't even travel with the Rams to Australia so he could continue focusing on his training and preparation for his eventual season debut.
That's disappointing, but understandable. After all, Donald didn't even join the Rams this year until after they had finished their training camp. For as much as he was undoubtedly doing his own training on the side while sitting in retirement, there's a big difference between that kind of training and getting ready to play physically demanding, high-level football games. The Rams are taking the right approach here because they know what Donald can likely still do at full capacity and understand they can certainly beat the 49ers without him.
It's just a shame that we have to wait a little longer to see one of the greatest football players of all time do his thing again.

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell and quarterback Ashton Daniels met with local media after Monday night's 27-24 loss to No. 19 SMU at Doak Campbell Stadium.
"Tonight, coming off of it, just another close game, a lot of one plays," Norvell said. "You think back through it, some of the explosive plays that we gave up defensively, some of missed opportunities there offensively. Never really got in rhythm throwing the ball, but had some good runs."
"Ashton as a runner did some good things," Norvell said. "We also got to go and be able to make plays in the passing game when opportunities present themselves. Didn't do a great job in protecting with that. There's some inconsistencies there that we got to clean up. It didn't all come together in the passing game and ultimately that's on us. We've got to get that corrected….It's a shame to come up a field goal short."
Florida State finished 2-of-15 on third down. SMU had four turnovers. The Seminoles were outgained 585-324.
"We were able to create takeaways. It's something that we knew going into the game was going to be a big factor," Norvell said. "Unfortunately, we only had seven points off takeaways, which when you get four turnovers, you need to be able to put points on the board in those situations. This series against the Braves is obviously one of great importance as it pertains to the NL East division finish. This series and the next one they play will likely decide who gets the final say in winning the division, so both series will be very important.
Yet the vast majority of you believe that in the end, the Phillies will be in the wild card position as opposed to winning the division. A lot of the projections agree with you too. There's no shame in making the playoffs as the wild card as it means they have a shot winning the whole thing. Many teams will not be playing once the playoff bell rings, so getting in is the goal.

A crash, a penalty… what next? For a man who's just turned 20, Italian hotshot Kimi Antonelli has already endured a tumultuous relationship with his home grand prix: the electrifying, old-school Monza circuit, long christened Formula 1's Temple of Speed.

George Clooney is not holding back when it comes to his feelings about President Donald Trump.
Clooney, 65, was on hand at the Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy, on Wednesday, September 2, to accept the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award on the festival's opening day, when he was asked about the current state of affairs back in the United States.
The Oscar winner, who famously lives abroad with his wife, Amal, and their 9-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, admitted he's "ashamed" of the Trump-led U.S. government.
"I do believe… we're at a moment in time that's unfortunate. I think that's an understatement," Clooney, who is no stranger to criticizing 80-year-old Trump, said, per Vanity Fair. Clooney, 65, was on hand at the Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy, on Wednesday, September 2, to accept the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement Award on the festival's opening day, when he was asked about the current state of affairs back in the United States.
The Oscar winner, who famously lives abroad with his wife, Amal, and their 9-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, admitted he's "ashamed" of the Trump-led U.S. government.
"I do believe… we're at a moment in time that's unfortunate. I think that's an understatement," Clooney, who is no stranger to criticizing 80-year-old Trump, said, per Vanity Fair. "There's a great word, a kakistocracy, which is a country run by the least qualified people. I think maybe we have a kakistocracy right now, but we'll get through it."
With the midterm elections just around the corner in November, the Good Night, and Good Luck star said he's hoping for a "check and balance" in the government, and a return to "normalcy" by the next presidential election in 2028.

Kanter was ejected from a recent game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever after getting in a verbal altercation with the Sky's Natasha Cloud. He was wearing a shirt that featured a definition of the term "woman" and seemed to be instigating the situation. He is now trying to make his overall intentions clear.
Kanter appeared on "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business on Thursday and was asked how he would respond to critics who claim he is doing all this simply for attention. He was not happy about that particular criticism.
"I want to directly talk to America," Kanter began. "Many people think that I do this for attention. I have one message for you: Shame on you. I'm here to protect women. I'm here to support your little daughters and care about the next generation. And I'm here to stand with American values. If anyone thinks that I do this for attention please come say that to my face. Shame on you."

Gigi Hadid is opening up about the brutal realities she faced breaking into the modeling industry, revealing she was body-shamed and told she needed to lose weight if she wanted to succeed.

Hayden Panettiere's estranged mother, Lesley Vogel, has hit back at Gayle King after the CBS Mornings host criticized her response to her daughter's death.
The Heroes star died August 16 after being found in cardiac arrest at a Greenville, South Carolina, apartment. She was 36.
"I was very, very hurt and deeply disappointed in the lack of professionalism, the lack of compassion in slamming someone who's lost two children, without even a modicum of consideration," Vogel told the Daily Mail about King's criticism of her.
"No one reached out to me before," she added. "It's shameful. It's unconscionable to me."
The Independent has contacted King's representatives for comment.

The Eagles continue to tinker with the roster as they approach their final 53 guys, and are adding some depth at center by signing Zeke Correll, and also brought back WR Brandon Hayes, who has bounced on and off the roster since late-Spring. To make room for the newest additions, the team also placed Tariq Castro-Fields on IR as he deals with a heel injury, and waived/injured WR Johnny Wilson.
Zeke Correll is a 6-foot-3, 307-pound center who spent the 2025 offseason with the Minnesota Vikings. Ultimately, he was waived due to injury as they approached final roster cuts, and eventually landed on the team's injury reserve list for the season. Correll spent last year with new Eagles OL coach Chris Kuper in Minnesota, so there's so familiarity with what they're trying to do in Philly. Right now, the depth at center starts with Cam Jurgens, followed by Willie Lampkin, who has impressed this training camp, and now Correll with get into the mix.
Wide receiver Brandon Hayes has signed and been waived several times over the past few months by the Eagles, and this time, it took less than a week for him to return to the roster. The WR room is pretty crowded, even with the team waiving Johnny Wilson due to a lingering knee injury. For the Carolina Panthers, one of the toughest decisions will be who to carry at tight end, where they've long had one of the worst units in the league. The addition of veteran Darren Waller gives the toom some hope, but also means somebody else will probbaly wind up on the chopping block.
According to a new initial 53-man roster projection from Joe Person at The Athletic, 2024 fourth-round draft pick Ja'Tavion Sanders is going to be the odd man out at tight end. Person wrties:
Waller was a low-risk signing with the potential for a high return. ***** uming he's healthy, he's on the 53. Waller, who turns 34 in September, tore his quad during training camp in Miami last year. That injury — and two others that followed — came after he'd been out of football for a year. But Canales said Waller showed up this week in "phenomenal shape." Waller's skill set is similar to that of Sanders, who could be the odd man out. Canales called Franks one of the top special teams players in the league, and the former QB has improved as a receiver.
It's a shame to waste an early Day 3 pick after just two seasons, but it's also hard to make a case that anybody else shouldn't make the roster over Sanders at this spot.

Matt Damon joined his wife Luciana Barroso and their four daughters Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella for a family outing at Disneyland.
The family were celebrating Gia's 18th birthday.

Fast bowler Mark Wood said he looks back on his performance in England's dismal Ashes campaign with "shame".
Wood was battling to overcome a knee injury in the run-up to the tour, but played in the series opener against Australia.
England suffered a calamitous defeat in Perth. From leading by 105 runs with nine second-innings wickets in hand on the second afternoon, the tourists were beaten before the day ended.
Wood was subsequently ruled out of the tour with the same knee issue and has not played since.
"I look back on it shamefully," the 36-year-old told Test Match Special. "We should have won that first game. The whole tour is different if we win in Perth."

The changes are due, at least in part, to the stricter salary cap rules, including the first and second aprons. Criticism of this is growing louder… Isaiah Hartenstein: It's always difficult for us. These rules were introduced back then because of Kevin Durant 's move to the Golden State Warriors , to prevent teams from having too many players of that caliber. But currently, it's not working out as intended. We're a team that has built up players from scratch, who then have to be traded again because of the second apron. That's a shame. It was the same issue with my contract. It's not like the team doesn't want to pay you. But when you're in the second apron, it's no longer just a financial question; you're also severely restricted in trades. GENEVA (AP) — A collection of soccer fan groups from around the world launched a petition Thursday calling for Gianni Infantino to resign as FIFA president after he tried to sell future World Cup profits to private investors.
The petition with the hashtag InfantinOut also calls for "FIFA to be rebuilt so that the current debacle can never happen again."
"The shameful attempt by one individual — the FIFA President himself — to sell off the World Cup to private investors exposed a betrayal football will never forget," the petition said about Infantino's plan for a commercial spinoff, which he dropped amid a furious backlash.
The fan groups include Football Supporters Europe, Football Supporters Africa and, in North America, the Independent Supporters Council, plus about 40 national fan groups worldwide.
Infantino has resisted calls to leave office despite European soccer body UEFA saying it has no confidence in him. He has also been criticized by the leadership of North America's CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation.
