Now that the dust is starting to settle on Saturday's opening-day defeat to Ipswich down at Portman Road, let's take a look at what went wrong and why there's no need to panic.
We've not lost many games under Régis Le Bris, so the feeling after a defeat isn't something we're used to. This is the first time that we have lost our opening league game under Le Bris, and it's never nice to have the sinking feeling that comes with any defeat, but upon reflection on Saturday's game, there's currently nothing to suggest the need to panic.
We started the opening twenty minutes positively, looking to set our stall out early and take control of the game. We also had a great chance after the first five minutes through some quick interplay and an opening for Brian Brobbey, who really ought to have done better with this chance.
We had the better share of possession as we looked to settle into a rhythm. Unfortunately, we were unable to do so all afternoon and, on twenty-five minutes, a mistake from Luke O'Nien led to Julio Enciso nipping in and robbing us on the halfway line.
Some calamitous defending followed, and we were 1-0 down before we knew it. Brobbey also had a golden chance in the second half which he should've buried.

Aug 23 (Reuters) - The governor of Russia's Orenburg region said on Sunday that two industrial facilities were hit by drone debris, including a warehouse owned by Ozon, a major Russian online retailer.
Governor Yevgeny Solntsev said that the Russian defence ministry had repelled six drones over the region, adding that no one had been injured. He did not name the second damaged facility.
Ozon, Russia's second-largest online retailer, said in a statement on Telegram that the company had evacuated more than 300 people and that work at its Orenburg region logistics centre had been halted.

Former England fast bowler Stuart Broad has delivered a blunt verdict on Pakistan, describing them as a "poor side" and backing England to complete a 3-0 clean sweep in the three-Test series.
Speaking on The Love for Cricket Podcast, Broad was critical of Pakistan's current Test team and suggested England should be expected to dominate the series.
"They are a poor side, they are not a really good side. You would imagine and you'd think that England should win 3-0. And pretty comfortably," Broad said.
The former England pacer, however, acknowledged that a clean sweep cannot be taken for granted. He added that failing to win the series would represent a major disappointment for the hosts.
"But that isn't guaranteed. But if England don't come out with a Test match series win, it really is a huge failure," Broad said.
His comments came after Pakistan endured a difficult opening two days in the first Test at Headingley in Leeds. Pakistan were bowled out for just 171 on the opening day, with England's bowlers exposing the tourists' batting problems.
England then took firm control with the bat, reaching 366-8 by stumps on Day 2 to secure a 195-run first-innings lead.
Joe Root and Harry Brook were among four England batters to register half-centuries. Root made 66 and shared a 150-run partnership with Jordan ******* , who scored 73, while Dan Lawrence contributed 51 on his return to Test cricket after two years.
Brook, meanwhile, narrowly missed out on a century at his home ground. The world's top-ranked Test batter made 91 after surviving an early scare when he was dropped on one. He was eventually dismissed by Pakistan spinner Ali Usman, who claimed 5-92 for his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket.
England maintained a brisk scoring rate of 4.46 runs per over, although the approach was less aggressive than the traditional Bazball style ******* ociated with the previous Stokes-McCullum era.
Root also missed an opportunity to add another landmark century to his record. After reaching 66, England's new Test captain was trapped lbw by Khurram Shahzad and wasted a review, with the ball-tracking showing it would have hit the middle stump.

WILLIAMSPORT, PA(WBRE/WYOU)-- The last seven days have been a whirlwind for the twelve year old all-stars from West Chester, PA. The Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions have been on the road since capturing the ***** le Friday, August 14th in Bristol, Connecticut.
East Side Little League Manager Bob Hennessey said, "It's awesome, and the support back home has been unbelievable. Getting messages, texts, social media posts."
East Side pitcher and outfielder Cole Warner shined in the clinching game of the Mid-Atlantic Regionals. "Seeing all the fans, and like the parents and the kids asking for all of us. It's like being a MLB player," said Warner.
The twelve year old tossed five plus innings, allowing just a single run. "They were pretty good. Just pitching to contact and trusting my defense is the key," Cole said.
Warner also scored a run in the 3 to 1 win over Delaware. Ryan Hennessy drove him in with a two RBI hit in the first inning.

The Arizona Cardinals will start Gardner Minshew against the Dallas Cowboys in this weekend's preseason game. That much has been announced.
Minshew has been getting plenty of first-team reps, and is at the ready for the backup role or for a starting position.

Currently, Jacoby Brissett is listed on the Cardinals depth chart as the starting quarterback, with Minshew the backup and rookie Carson Beck and Kedon Slovis battling it out for QB3. Minshew is expected to start and play the first half along with the remainder of the second-team offense. It will be interesting to see who plays right guard for the injured Chase Bisontis. That's with the exception however of two loan spells in the Championship at Bristol City. Across the full extent of 2024/25 and the second half of 2025/26, Earthy racked up 51 appearances, registering three goals and two ****** ists in that time.

ESPN recently dropped their annual set of "future" power rankings, which are based on how well the franchise is set up to be successful over the next three or so seasons. The Cardinals were unfortunately ranked dead last thanks to a lackluster quarterback situation.
Jacoby Brissett is not what any team wants as their long-term franchise guy, and Carson Beck as not played enough to show if he's the answer there, either. If the latter does work out, the Cardinals would understandably shoot upwards in these rankings. If he doesn't, it would all hinge on whether or not they land their guy in 2027.

The anticipation of next week's Premier League kick-off at Ipswich is more than palpable – it's downright frothing at the bit.
It's been a pretty good summer. The World Cup was a decent watch, despite the utterly predictable nature of England's exit. Sunderland had 12 players representing their respective countries in the USA, Canada & Mexico – a total bettered only by **** nal and Manchester City and Manchester United. A teenager who trains a Championship football side's cerebral palsy team says he's "still in disbelief" after winning coach of the year.
Casey Young, from Crewkerne, Somerset, has cerebral palsy and coaches anyone aged five and over at Bristol City Cerebral Palsy FC twice a week as a volunteer.
He joined 11 other award winners who formed a guard of honour at the Community Shield match between ****** nal and Manchester City ahead of kick-off on Sunday.
The 19-year-old said: "I still think I'm in shock now. Just the nomination I was really excited about. When I found out I had won, I've been in disbelief since."

A charity which encourages rival football fans to score points for their team through exercise and its own league has held its first fun run.
About 80 runners took part in the Fans to 5k event in Lockleaze, North Bristol, through an initiative which was set up by football fans to help the health and fitness of football supporters.
Founder Grant Rees said: "Everyone can use this, everyone can be a part of it and represent their club and, the more miles you carry out, the more points for your club. But we cap it at five miles so that it's inclusive."
There are 840 supporters now signed up representing football clubs, rugby clubs, cricket clubs and community organisations across the UK.

India wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel revealed that the visitors had a clear plan to score quickly but sensibly on the rain-affected second day of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. India eventually ended the day at 460/9, with Kuldeep Yadav unbeaten on 12 and Prasidh Krishna on 1.
Jurel walked in after India had already lost KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant but played an attacking knock to keep the momentum going. The right-hander struck 51 off 68 deliveries, including four fours and a six. He added a crucial 55-run partnership with Manav Suthar, helping India cross the 400-run mark.
"There was a plan to score runs briskly, but sensibly. We weren't looking to go bonkers from ball one, but there was a plan," Jurel said during the post-match press conference.
The India batter also revealed that his previous experience of playing in Sri Lanka with India A helped him understand the conditions and approach the innings with confidence.
"I know conditions here, having played for India A here. I was under no pressure, it's a privilege to play for India," Jurel added.
Jurel was given a reprieve on 29 when Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya de Silva dropped a difficult chance at first slip. However, the captain later made amends by taking a spectacular catch to dismiss Jurel off Prabath Jayasuriya.
The standout performer for India was Devdutt Padikkal, who continued his sensational form from Day 1 to score a magnificent 167 off 230 ******* . Padikkal's innings included 15 fours and a six, and he became only the third Indian batter to score 150 or more against Sri Lanka from the No. 3 position, joining Rahul Dravid and Cheteshwar Pujara.
Jurel was full of praise for his teammate and pointed out that Padikkal has consistently delivered whenever opportunities have come his way.

The Arizona Cardinals aren't expected to be very good in 2026. However, after the start of the preseason, perhaps they won't be quite as bad as people have believed.
While they are projected to have the lowest win total in the NFL, in new preseason power rankings from NFL.com, they aren't at the bottom of the league.
Surprisingly, they are ranked 26th.
Once you're done sipping the Carson Beck Kool-Aid (I know, it really is refreshing), come take a seat with me and consider where the Cardinals are right now. They're entering 2026 with a veteran bridge quarterback, another respected backup behind him and a rookie who turned heads in the Hall of Fame Game. While it carries a lower ceiling, that scenario suddenly doesn't sound too bad, especially when considering the weaponry Arizona has ***** embled: newly minted Madden NFL 99 Club member Trey McBride, No. 3 overall pick Jeremiyah Love, former No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr. and 1,000-yard receiver Michael Wilson. Not bad! Much of the Cards' success will depend on whether they can protect Jacoby Brissett and if they can consistently get stops defensively. But despite this No. 26 ranking, I'm shifting toward a sunnier outlook with this team.

MADRID, Aug 15 (Reuters) - A magnitude 5 earthquake struck the southern Spanish city of Granada in the early hours of Saturday, with the regional government saying houses and cars were damaged but no injuries had been reported.
The quake hit the metropolitan area of Alhendin just after 1 a.m. (0000 GMT).
Spanish television channel TVE showed debris strewn on the street and some damage to cars in the popular tourist city. Andalusian emergency services rescued a number of people from damaged buildings.
Antonio Sanz, the Andalusia region's top emergencies official, said on Saturday there was no damage to the Alhambra palace, an important example of Andalusian Islamic architecture.
"There is no serious structural damage, no serious material damage and there are no casualties," he said, adding that the Alhambra had "not been affected in any way".

Joey Logano — winner: "My team did a great job. The pressure was on everybody to make the right calls, to execute the runs, to have a good pit stop there. We were door-to-door pretty much onto pit road. That tested everything we had. I thought we were gonna be in good shape because the run before that we were a lot faster than (Chase Briscoe) right at the end, but we weren't able to be the same amount of good as we wanted to be. This is the first time I've had all of my kids here for a win, so this is a real special one for our family. I'm looking forward to enjoying it. It's a great recovery so far. There's a long way to go in the season, but we can see the front from here. We've still got a couple more to gain some more points to set ourselves up better. I just like doing burnouts. That's really all there is to it. I thought it was a cool opportunity to do a burnout right here. I might get my hand slapped, but it was worth it."
Chase Briscoe — second: "Yeah, I don't know what more I needed. I thought that last run I was a little bit better than him. To get there at the end, prior run to the pit stop, I just lost brakes, got really, really loose. Gave up a three-second advantage. That was ultimately the difference. One bad run. Like I said, that was the difference maker there in the end. It's weird to be running second here. This has been a real struggle to me, this place. I think that's my first ever top 10 here even. To get close, not get it done is so frustrating. I had a really fast Toyota and wasn't able to seal the deal there in the end. The brake deal was interesting. I had great brakes. I felt like a large majority of the race it was to my advantage. I could get into the corner so deep compared to everyone. As I kind of lost that, I lost my advantage. I came not mediocre, but I wasn't quite as strong as what I needed to be to maintain there. Yeah, definitely frustrating from that standpoint, but still huge improvement from what I've been here, for sure. Go on to the next one. Yeah, that's great (to clinch a Chase spot). Obviously that was the goal. You want to be able to race for a championship. A long way to go. We need to get fifth in points. Ford driver Joey Logano stayed hot in Virginia's capital on Saturday night and won for the second time in four starts, taking the checkers in the Cook Out 400 NASCAR Cup Series race at the Richmond Raceway short track in Richmond, Virginia.
The No. 22 Team Penske driver ran down Christopher Bell's No. 20 Toyota over the final 37 laps after his final pit stop and earned his second win of 2026 by holding off Chase Briscoe by 0.392 seconds.
His other victory was also on a short track in Cup racing's return to North Wilkesboro Speedway on July 19.
It was his third career Richmond win and Ford's fourth of 2026.

Millwall head coach Alex Neil says he was impressed by his side's "solid" performance as they beat 10-man Bristol City 2-0.
The London side did not have a shot on target against them as they impressively won their opening day fixture at Ashton Gate.
"It was a real good, solid performance. We scored two goals, we should score another one when we hit the post from about three yards and had one chalked off," he told BBC Radio London.

While Bayonne romped its way to a pair of victories in the Little League Metro Regional this week, the 12-year-old All Stars from Hudson County approached the championship game from a different vantage point.
Trailing 4-0 after the top of the first inning in Bristol, Connecticut, Bayonne rallied three different times to finally tie the game, 6-6, in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Then, with a single by Jett Bridges, Bayonne took its first lead of the night, 7-6. Chase Klimkowski, the starting pitcher for Bayonne, drove in an insurance run next, and Bayonne star Mason Rincon, who also pitched in relief, finished the sixth inning with a strikeout and two groundouts. He fielded the final grounder back to him, then tossed the ball to Leandro Anaya, the first baseman, to record the last out.
The 8-6 final gave Bayonne the regional championship and propelled the team to the Little League World Series for the first time in the peninsula city's history.
"We got punched in the face, but we were able to punch back and stand together as we went through the finish line," said Gabe Garcia Sr., an ******* istant coach, whose son is the shortstop and leadoff hitter. "The kids are super ecstatic. I don't think it's hit them."

Frasers Group has acquired department store chain Harvey Nichols from FTI Consulting, the business consulting company that had been appointed administrator to oversee its sale.
Owned by billionaire Mike Ashley, the UK retail conglomerate has not confirmed the value of the transaction, though several media outlets have reported it to be £40m ($53.9m).
Harvey Nichols had been struggling with trading and operational pressures for some time before the sale.

The Delaware state champ Naaman squad defeated Washington DC 7-2 Thursday to stay alive and had a much stronger showing vs. Pennsylvania in the championship then in Sunday's MAC opener, which West Chester won handily, 8-1.
The Pa. Team opens World Series action Friday, Aug. 21.

Ryan Blaney's qualifying hot streak shows no signs of slowing down.
The Team Penske driver captured the pole for Saturday night's NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway, giving him his second consecutive pole position and his fourth in the last five races. Blaney will lead the field to the green flag after edging Chase Briscoe in Friday's qualifying session.
The pole continues one of the most impressive stretches of qualifying speed in the Cup Series this season as Blaney looks to convert another front-row starting spot into a long-awaited victory.
