At Neo Química Arena, Santos FC defeated Corinthians 1-0 in the Brazilian Championship. The match, valid for the twenty-fifth round of the competition, was played this Sunday (30), and Santos's goal was scored by Oliva. With the result, Peixe reached 29 points in the competition. The next match for Cuca's team will be on Wednesday (2), against Palmeiras, in the Copa do Brasil, at Vila Belmiro.
Santos FC's first chance came in the 11th minute, when Gabriel Bontempo won the ball in midfield and passed it to Gabriel Barbosa to carry forward into attack. The center forward passed to Neymar Jr., who quickly returned it to Gabigol. The Menino da Vila hit it first time, but without much power.
Peixe opened the scoring in the 32nd minute. After Gabriel Bontempo dribbled past his marker and was fouled near the edge of the box, Neymar Jr. stepped up to take it. The number 10 placed the ball into the top corner, and goalkeeper Hugo Souza parried it, leaving a rebound. Well positioned, Oliva took advantage and scored the only goal of the match.
Late in the first half, in the 44th minute, Neymar Jr. went down near the area with the ball. He got up, recovered, and passed it to Barreal. The forward entered the box and hit a low shot on goal, which was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
In the second half, Santos's defense completely neutralized Corinthians's attack. On the few chances that reached Peixe's goal, Gabriel Brazão made comfortable saves.

FC Barcelona is wasting no time and is already going all in for Gabriel Jesus. After the definitive 'no' from Atlético de Madrid for Julián Álvarez, the sporting department has radically changed its target. The departure of Robert Lewandowski has left a huge void in the box, and the Brazilian ***** nal striker is the chosen one to fill the role of the reference No. 9, as reported by Mundo Deportivo.
At 29 years old, the Seleçao forward is not comfortable with his secondary role in London, where fierce competition has limited his playing time. This lack of prominence has led the player to ask to leave the Premier League in search of a project where he can truly feel important.
His desire to wear the Blaugrana shirt is nothing new. Back in his Palmeiras days, before making the leap to Europe in 2016, Gabriel Jesus dreamed of playing at Camp Nou. Now, the striker is putting maximum pressure on the English club so that talks move forward and his arrival in the Catalan capital is finalized as soon as possible.
There was some caution in the club's offices regarding his physical condition due to the serious knee injury he suffered at the start of 2025. However, Barça's medical staff have reviewed all his reports in detail and confirm that the Brazilian is 100% fit and fully recovered to compete at the highest level from day one.
Gabriel Jesus' numbers speak for themselves: 95 goals for Manchester City under Pep Guardiola and more than 30 goals with the Gunners. Gabriel Jesus brings goals, spark, experience in big matches, and that Brazilian street-football flair that can get the Barça fans buzzing.

The board at La Liga giants Real Madrid this week received fresh contact from their counterparts at Premier League champions ******* nal, regarding the situation of young striker Endrick.
This comes as the Gunners seek out reinforcements in the final third ahead of the imminent departure of Gabriel Martinelli.
Endrick's future in Spain's capital has of course proven a headline talking point at Real Madrid across the summer to date. After the 20-year-old returned to base at Valdebebas following a fruitful loan stint in France with Lyon, it was suggested that another temporary departure could be on the cards.
José Mourinho has since moved to ******* ure that his young goalscorer will be going nowhere before the window slams shut, but speculation surrounding Endrick's name has nevertheless continued to circulate.
And as alluded to above, late this week, the former Palmeiras sensation has been linked with another of European football's leading clubs. As per a report from TEAMtalk:

Playing away from home at Nubank Parque in São Paulo (SP), Santos FC ended up being beaten 3-0 by Palmeiras on Wednesday night (26), in the first leg of the 2026 Copa do Brasil quarterfinals. The return derby will take place next Wednesday (02), at 9:30 p.m., at Vila Belmiro.
Before facing the green-and-white side again, however, coach Cuca's men now switch their focus to another derby, this time in the 2026 Brazilian Championship. Next Sunday (30), Peixe visits Corinthians at 4 p.m. at Neo Química Arena, in the 25th round.

The match – Playing away from home, Santos FC started by containing their rivals and looking dangerous on the counterattack, but with few chances for either side. In the 26th minute, Igor Vinícius exchanged passes with Gustavo Henrique and broke into the box alone. With no angle, however, the full-back shot wide.
Palmeiras, in turn, responded in the 33rd minute, when Flaco López tried his luck from very long range and opened the scoring for the home side at Nubank Parque. The Alvinegro Praiano felt the impact of the goal conceded and saw the green-and-white side grow into the derby.

Manchester City have agreed to sign winger Allan Elias from Palmeiras in a deal worth up to £34.2m.
The 22-year-old Brazilian will come in as a replacement for compatriot Savinho, who looks set to join Tottenham.
City have agreed to pay a fixed fee of £32m, plus £2.2m in add-ons, for Allan with a medical scheduled to take place in the coming days.
They remain in advanced talks to sell Egypt forward Omar Marmoush to Spurs, and sources with knowledge of the situation say there is a "good chance" the deal gets completed before the 1 September transfer deadline.
Discussions are ongoing between the two clubs and there are some details yet to be agreed.

Flamengo saw the gap to Palmeiras widen in the Brasileirão, but the upcoming matches point to a favorable scenario.
Fla will play FOUR of their next FIVE matches in the competition at the Maracanã. Their only trip will be to face Remo in Pará.
In this home stretch, Flamengo will face Botafogo (11th place), Mirassol (17th), Corinthians (10th), and RB Bragantino (7th).
Palmeiras, on the other hand, will play only two home matches during this period, one of them a derby against São Paulo.
A positive run could take Flamengo to the top of the table — or at least help them cut the gap to Palmeiras.

Botafogo will ****** s interim coach Rodrigo Bellão's work and may APPOINT HIM permanently as the team's full-time head coach for the rest of the season.
Bellão, the Under-20 coach, temporarily took over the spot left vacant by Franclim Carvalho.
The interim coach led Botafogo to a 1-0 win over Cienciano in the Copa Sudamericana — a result that was not enough after the 6-1 defeat in the first leg.
And Rodrigo Bellão will face a new challenge in charge of the black-and-white team. The club will host Athletico at 8 p.m. on Monday (24) at Nilton Santos Stadium in the Brasileirão.
Athletico are in third place. After that, Botafogo will face Flamengo (second place) and Palmeiras (leaders).

It would seem that Manchester City have settled on signing Allan from Palmeiras to fill void on the right wing in Enzo Maresca's squad. The Brazilian winger looks to have the attributes both in and out of possession that Enzo Maresca desires in a winger. Allan is exceptional in one-on-one situations with the ball at his feet due to his dribbling ability and speed. Out of possession, Allan is hard working and is alway eager to help his team out of possession.
It now seems like Manchester City are accelerating towards signing Allan from Palmeiras. If that particular deal goes through quickly it will likely be the first of many that City will complete before the transfer window closes.
Brazilian publication Estadão has reported that Manchester City is closing in on the signing of Allan. Furthermore, it is reported that are prepared to pay a total package of €42 million (£35.9 million) to sign Allan from Palmeiras. It is reported that City are aiming to pay €37.5 million (£32.1 million) as a fixed fee with the remainder covered in add-ons. It is also reported that Palmeiras initially did not want to sell any of their key players. However, Allan's desire to complete a move to Manchester City and City's financial power has changed the situation. Lastly, it has also been reported that Allan has been left out of the Palmeiras squad for their upcoming match against Vasco da Gama, which indicates that a deal between Manchester City and Palmeiras is edging closer to being agreed.
Manchester City have plenty of work to do before the summer transfer window closes on September 1st. There are plenty of holes to fill in Enzo Maresca's squad. They need a winger who can play primarily on the right, plus they need midfield reinforcements and perhaps another striker if Omar Marmoush leaves the club. There is plenty of work to do for the City hierarchy in the transfer market.
It seems that one box is close to being ticked. Allan could be on his way to the Etihad to provide cover on the right wing. That would be good business for City as they seem destined to pay half of what they received for selling Savinho to Tottenham. They can then use the surplus to bolster their midfield, which is likely to be an expensive operation. If Allan adds quality to Manchester City's squad, that would be a huge bonus.

This Saturday (22), Fluminense came from behind to beat Remo 2-1 at the Maracanã, in the 24th round of the 2026 Brasileirão.

Back at Real Madrid for the 2026/27 season, Brazilian forward Endrick has attracted interest from Liverpool. as confirmed by ESPN Brasil.
The English giants have expressed interest in the Brazilian, but no official offer has been made so far. However, the 20-year-old attacker has no intention of leaving the Spanish capital club.
Real Madrid invested heavily in Endrick back to sign him from Palmeiras, but minutes proved hard to come by for him in his first year and a half.
As such, he was loaned out to Lyon in January, where he excelled and earned a spot in the Brazil squad for the World Cup.
Having returned to Real Madrid, Endrick's future has been a constant subject of speculation, especially with the club signing Carlos Espi and Yan Diomande to reinforce the attacking department.

On August 17, 1975, São Paulo beat Portuguesa 3-0 on penalties, after a 1-1 aggregate score over two deciding matches, and won the 1975 Campeonato Paulista, the 11th in the club's history.
The story of that **** le, however, begins a little more than nine months earlier, when Tricolor, on November 10, 1974, at Pacaembu, lost 2-1 to Palmeiras in a match from that season's Paulistão. The scoreline, seemingly irrelevant in the long run, would mark the start of a streak that São Paulo fans have never seen repeated to this day: 47 matches unbeaten.
From November 13, 1974, to August 3, 1975, São Paulo did not know defeat. There were 36 wins and 11 draws, with 39 of those matches counting for the Campeonato Paulista (either from 1974 — eight matches — or from 1975 — 31 clashes).
It was in the midst of this fine run that the Tricolor, coached by Jose Poy, began its 1975 Paulistão campaign. The tournament had one of the most controversial and complicated sets of rules of all time, with changes made during the competition itself.
It was contested by 19 teams in two stages, with the winners of each stage playing for the **** le in two final matches, unless one team won both stages. So far, so good. However, while the first stage was decided simply in a round-robin format, the second…

If Palmeiras fans were worried after the 3-2 comeback defeat to Fluminense last Saturday (15), the situation has now gotten considerably worse.
That's because Flamengo thrashed Mirassol 5-1 this Sunday (16) and fully joined the race for the top spot in the Brasileirão.

In fact, the Rubro-Negro can be seen as the competition's "virtual" leader because they have a game in hand, precisely against Mirassol at the Maracanã, still without a date scheduled by the CBF.

Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG will compete for a spot in the Copa Betano do Brasil semifinalCredits: Gustavo Aleixo/Cruzeiro
CBF held the draw for the quarterfinals of the 2026 Copa do Brasil this Tuesday (11), in Rio de Janeiro, which will feature, for the first time since 1989, three state derby matchups. On one side of the bracket, the competition will have the clashes between Internacional x Grêmio and Cruzeiro x Atlético-MG. On the other, Vasco x Vitória and Palmeiras x Santos.
Of these four matchups, two have previously decided the tournament: the Minas Gerais derby, Atlético-MG x Cruzeiro, in 2014, when Galo were crowned champions, and the São Paulo derby, Palmeiras x Santos, in 2015, when Alviverde lifted the trophy.
Historically, all four matchups have taken place before. Grêmio and Inter faced each other only once, in 1992, in the quarterfinals, when Colorado advanced on penalties. Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG, in addition to the 2014 final, met in the quarterfinals in 2019 and 2025, with one victory for each side.

Palmeiras and Internacional face off this Sunday (9), at 4 p.m. (Brasília time), at Nubank Parque, in a match valid for the 22nd round of the 2026 Brasileirão.
The game is the famous "clash of opposites." At least when looking at their current positions in the table.
Verdão leads the championship with 47 points and is chasing a second straight win to stay comfortably at the top and, who knows, take advantage of another Flamengo slip-up to pull further ahead.
Colorado, meanwhile, has not won in five rounds in the Brasileirão and, because of that, sits at the top of the relegation zone (17th place) with 22 points.
Compared to the last match (a 2-1 loss to Corinthians, but qualification for the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals), coach Paulo Pezzolano opted for just one change for Inter: Félix Torres comes in for Mercado.

Internacional, champions of the 1st U-15 Copa do BrasilCredits: Rafael Ribeiro / CBF
In an exciting final between two top teams from Brazil's youth ranks, Internacional beat Palmeiras 3-1 this Saturday (August 1) to become the champions of the first U-15 Copa do Brasil. The match was played at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), and was attended by CBF president Samir Xaud.
Asafe, Kayki, and Gustavo Fahmer scored the goals in the win. Maicon scored for Palmeiras. At an intense pace, both teams fought for every ball with grit and determination. They also stood out for their creativity, dribbling, and plays that showed technique and great skill.
At the start of the first half, Palmeiras took control of the game and opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Maicon, after a run down the right by Gabriel Bueno, who got past his marker. It looked as though Palmeiras' second goal would not take long, such was the team's dominance.
But Inter changed the course of the match. They started moving the ball more quickly and equalized in the 26th minute with a goal by Asafe after a corner kick. Then, in the 38th minute, they completed the comeback with a fine finish from Kaique from outside the box.

Manchester United have expressed an interest in signing Botafogo midfielder Danilo Santos this summer, according to the BBC. Man United want a new midfielder despite bringing both Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans to the Old Trafford club. The Red Devils are now keeping tabs on Danilo, with Newcastle United also keen on bringing the former Nottingham Forest star back to the Premier League. The 25-year-old Brazil international made four appearances at the World Cup and Man United could do with his services as manager Michael Carrick eyes a specialist defensive midfielder.
Botafogo prefer to sell Danilo abroad after rejecting an offer of around £23 million, including bonuses from Verdao. The Man United target reportedly has a £17m clause for foreign clubs, which could be a big boost for the Red Devils and other European admirers. He played 50 Premier League games for the City Ground club before returning to Brazil in July 2025. Danilo has been impressing back home, with all his eight caps for Brazil thus far coming this year. His passing, relentlessness and the knack for being absolutely everywhere are some qualities of his which would come in handy at Man United.
The 6ft 2in midfielder is also physical, dynamic and technical, and he has what it takes to replace Casemiro at the Theatre of Dreams. Botafogo have also received offers of about £25m from Palmeiras and Zenit St Petersburg for Danilo, and more suitors could come calling. It is unknown whether Man United have plans to make a concrete move for him. They are exploring multiple options, including not signing another midfielder this summer, and fans will hope they make the right decisions.

Provided that everything goes according to plan for Vitor Reis this preseason, the young centre-back should be set for a role at Manchester City this season. After arriving at City from Palmeiras in the January 2025 transfer window and spending six months around the first team, Reis spent last season on loan at Girona. Vitor Reis' time playing in La Liga was well spent. He now seems set to compete for first team football at the FA Cup and Carabao Cup holders. In a recent interview, Vitor Reis spoke on the lessons he has learned to date as he prepares to make an impression during Manchester City's preseason.
In an interview with ESPN Brasil, Vitor Reis has spoken on the experience he has gained, first at Manchester City, and from playing regularly with Girona in La Liga during the 2025-26 season. Speaking on how much he learned during his brief spell at City, and who encourages him, Reis said: "City has a great squad and excellent players. I learned a lot during my first spell there, especially from Rúben Dias, who encourages me a lot, and Haaland himself, who is one of the top strikers in world football."
Last season Vitor Reis was sent out on loan to Girona. The hope was that Reis would establish himself as first team regular at Girona. He did exactly that and was one of Girona's best performing players in a season that saw Girona relegated. The young Brazilian defender explained that playing in La Liga helped him grow as an overall player. He explained: "Playing in La Liga helped a lot because I managed to have a good run of games in a very strong and competitive league. Playing regularly makes a difference and I felt a huge improvement last season with Girona. Facing great players like Vini Jr , Yamal , Mbappé and Bellingham requires maximum concentration."
Spending a season playing in Spain was exactly what Vitor Reis needed for his development. He was able to play regularly and grow as a defender. With how Girona played out from the back, Vitor Reis' composure in possession and ability to be a meaningful factor in Girona's build-up play stood out. This attribute will set Reis up for life at Manchester City. Also, Vitor Reis can break the lines with his passing and his decision-making is exceptional for a centre-back. Both are traits that should serve him extremely well playing in the Premier League.
Given that Girona played a high defensive line under Michel, this allowed Vitor Reis to show the traits that should serve him well at Manchester City. Vitor Reis anticipates the play very well, which allows him to pick out danger from opponents at an impressive rate. There is also an intelligence to how Vitor Reis defends. He uses his ability to read the play rather than lunging into challenges. This is another set of skills that should translate into an Enzo Maresca side.

Fluminense remains top of the Brasileirão U-17Credits: LEONARDO BRASIL/ FLUMINENSE FC
