The São Paulo side sits in 10th place in the Brasileirão, with 33 points from 25 matches.
After the derby, Tricolor will resume the showdown with Boca Juniors next Tuesday (15), at 9:30 p.m., at MorumBIS.

Brazil's U-15 Men's National Team drew 0-0 with Ecuador in the second round of the 2026 CONMEBOL Liga Evolución, on Thursday morning (10), at Parque Guasu, in Luque, Paraguay. The result kept Brazil at the top of the North Zone group. In the other match in this group, Venezuela and Colombia drew 1-1.
Brazil was the better side, created scoring chances, gave the opposition almost no room to attack, but struggled against Ecuador's tight marking. In the first half, they had two good chances from free kicks, both saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
In the second half, the Canarinho improved and pinned Ecuador back in its own half, creating a string of chances. In the 37th minute, Isaac won a penalty as he broke free into the box. Kelwin took the spot kick, but it was saved by Ecuador's goalkeeper, the standout player of the match.

The Brazil U-15 Men's National Team opened its CONMEBOL Liga Evolución 2026 campaign with a 1-0 win over Colombia on Tuesday morning (8) at Parque Guasu in Luque, Paraguay. Kauã Lucas scored the goal that earned the young Seleção all three points in the 29th minute of the first half.
After a long clearance for the Brazilian defense, Valmir headed the ball back toward the young Seleção's attack and found Samuell, who passed to Kauã Lucas. Wearing the No. 11 shirt, he controlled the play with his head, already getting past the Colombian defender. He then burst forward at speed until he was one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper and finished into the corner to seal the final score.
The result put Brazil at the top of the North Zone group. In the other match in the group, Venezuela and Peru drew 4-4.

Santos FC fought hard and applied plenty of pressure early in the derby, but could not overturn Palmeiras' large advantage. After a 0-0 draw this Wednesday (2) at Vila Belmiro, they are out of the 2026 Copa do Brasil. Peixe did try to break through and created chances, but their rivals knew how to protect the result after winning the first leg of the quarterfinals 3-0 on the 26th at Nubank Parque in São Paulo, thus securing a place in the semifinals.
Out of the national knockout tournament, coach Cuca's squad now shifts focus to the 2026 Brazilian Championship. Riding high after beating Corinthians 1-0 last Sunday (30) at Neo Química Arena, Alvinegro Praiano now aims to climb even higher in the table and move away from the danger zone.
This Sunday (6), Santos FC visits Internacional at Beira-Rio Stadium at 4 p.m. for the 26th round of the Brasileirão. If they can win in Porto Alegre, Peixe could open up as much as a seven-point gap from the relegation zone and start dreaming of bigger things in the national competition.

The match – Driven by the "fire corridor" on arrival and by a roaring Vila Belmiro, Santos came out on top of Palmeiras. Just 4 minutes in, Igor Vinicius reached the edge of the box and struck with his left foot, forcing a save from Carlos Miguel.

Rafael Ribeiro / CBFCredits: Palmeiras and Vasco go after the ***** le
It's time to find out who will be the 2026 Brazilian U-20 champion. Palmeiras and Vasco face off this Friday (4), at 7 p.m. (Brasília time), at Nubank Parque, in São Paulo (SP), for the second and decisive leg of the final. After a 1-0 win in the first match at São Januário (look back here), in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Verdão takes the field with the advantage in the ***** le race.
Palmeiras' winning goal in the first game was scored by Erick Belé late in the first half. As a result, a draw is enough to secure the trophy for Verdão. If Vasco manage to win by a one-goal margin and level the aggregate score, the champion will be decided on penalties.
The advantage, however, does not mean peace of mind. Vasco showed in the first match that they can trouble their opponent and will now have 90 minutes to try to change the course of the final. The Rio side have reached the final for the first time in the history of the Brazilian U-20 Championship and need to win away from home to take the trophy back to São Januário.

Playing away from home at Nubank Parque in São Paulo (SP), Santos FC ended up being beaten 3-0 by Palmeiras on Wednesday night (26), in the first leg of the 2026 Copa do Brasil quarterfinals. The return derby will take place next Wednesday (02), at 9:30 p.m., at Vila Belmiro.
Before facing the green-and-white side again, however, coach Cuca's men now switch their focus to another derby, this time in the 2026 Brazilian Championship. Next Sunday (30), Peixe visits Corinthians at 4 p.m. at Neo Química Arena, in the 25th round.

The match – Playing away from home, Santos FC started by containing their rivals and looking dangerous on the counterattack, but with few chances for either side. In the 26th minute, Igor Vinícius exchanged passes with Gustavo Henrique and broke into the box alone. With no angle, however, the full-back shot wide.
Palmeiras, in turn, responded in the 33rd minute, when Flaco López tried his luck from very long range and opened the scoring for the home side at Nubank Parque. The Alvinegro Praiano felt the impact of the goal conceded and saw the green-and-white side grow into the derby.

Netherlands international Memphis Depay has defended the release of his new music video showing Corinthians' headquarters in flames as "just art" - days after a contract row with the Brazilian club.
The former Manchester United forward agreed to take a "significant" pay cut to stay at Corinthians on Tuesday.
It came a week after the club opted against renewing his contract.
But Depay has now come under scrutiny for releasing the controversial music video for his track 'Don't Panic'.
It was released just 24 hours after the 32-year-old helped Corinthians reach the quarter-final of the Copa Libertadores, and appears to contain references to his recent disputes with the club, showing him watching their administrative center Parque Sao Jorge in flames.

Palmeiras and Internacional face off this Sunday (9), at 4 p.m. (Brasília time), at Nubank Parque, in a match valid for the 22nd round of the 2026 Brasileirão.
The game is the famous "clash of opposites." At least when looking at their current positions in the table.
Verdão leads the championship with 47 points and is chasing a second straight win to stay comfortably at the top and, who knows, take advantage of another Flamengo slip-up to pull further ahead.
Colorado, meanwhile, has not won in five rounds in the Brasileirão and, because of that, sits at the top of the relegation zone (17th place) with 22 points.
Compared to the last match (a 2-1 loss to Corinthians, but qualification for the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals), coach Paulo Pezzolano opted for just one change for Inter: Félix Torres comes in for Mercado.

A game in Uruguay's second division led to a surreal situation this Saturday (8).
The match between Uruguay Montevideo and Paysandú featured a huge clearance that caused a traffic accident on the highway running alongside the stadium.
The ball cleared out of the field landed on the road, made one car brake, and the vehicle coming right behind crashed into its rear.
The scene at Parque ANCAP stadium in Montevideo was caught by the match broadcast itself and quickly spread on social media.
On the field, Uruguay Montevideo beat Paysandú 1-0. Off it, the losers were the drivers involved in the accident.

Corinthians is very close to completing the return of forward Wesley, currently at Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. According to ge, there is a verbal agreement for the loan of the 21-year-old player, who is a request from head coach Fernando Diniz.
Despite interest from Brazilian clubs, Wesley reportedly made it clear that his absolute priority would be returning to Parque São Jorge. The forward has a strong emotional bond with Timão, in addition to having family in São Paulo.
To make the deal possible and fit within the financial reality of the São Paulo club, the young player agreed to take a pay cut. Al-Nassr, which needs to free up a foreign-player spot in the squad, will cover part of his wages, while Corinthians will pay the rest.
The biggest obstacle to signing the contract, however, is the punishment imposed by FIFA. Corinthians is currently dealing with two transfer bans that prevent the registration of new players.
The debts that led to the punishment are related to the signing of defensive midfielder José Martínez from Philadelphia Union and to a fine imposed by FIFA itself. Combined, the amounts are around R$ 9 million.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — A new animal oracle for the World Cup has arrived, and it's the kind that few would challenge even if its prediction is wrong.
A black jaguar named Poty has made her pick at Rio de Janeiro's BioParque for the highly anticipated World Cup Group C clash between Brazil and Scotland in Miami on Wednesday.
Residents and soccer fans watched closely on Monday as Poty took part in a lighthearted forecasting event, which placed her in front of two enrichment boxes representing the two rivals.
The jaguar sniffed both options before confidently selecting the Brazil box. However, she briefly returned to inspect the Scotland choice, a moment experts on Poty say shouldn't be ignored.
"Maybe it indicates a tough game for us," said BioParque biologist Caio de Souza Silva. "Maybe it's a win, but it could also be a more complicated match. Hopefully we don't concede a goal, but it may suggest a more physical game for Brazil."

David Hockney, who has died aged 88, was widely considered to have been Britain's greatest living artist, said The Daily Telegraph. Instantly recognisable, with his bleached-blond hair, round glasses, impish smile and "ever-smouldering cigarette", he was for decades a subject of fascination to the world's media, as Picasso had been a generation earlier. And just as Picasso once commented that he never produced a painting as a work of art – it was all research – Hockney was a man of restless curiosity, who for more than 60 years never stopped the process of experimentation and reinvention.
What drove him was an intense need to understand "the way the world works, how the eye sees it and how the brush sets it down", said Laura Freeman in The Times. "What happens when raindrops strike still water? Or a body breaks the surface of a swimming pool? How do you capture a glass of water, transparency on transparency, or shafts of sunlight on a polished parquet floor?"
He was a superb draughtsman, but there was no medium he would not try in his effort to depict the world as it is seen. He worked in oils, acrylics, watercolours, charcoal, pen and ink, pencil, felt-tips, crayons; he produced etchings and drypoints; and made use Polaroid cameras, Xerox photocopiers, inkjet printers and the iPad. His inspirations ranged from Monet to Chinese scrolls to the Bayeux Tapestry, and he found inspiration in everything California's epic landscapes to the graffiti in public lavatories.
He was fascinated by the mechanics of image-making, said Kelsey Ables in The Atlantic – and, as he put it, "any technology that is about pictures". In 2001, he published an art historical book in which he laid out his carefully researched but hotly debated theory that the likes of Caravaggio and van Eyck had used devices such as concave mirrors and projecting lenses to achieve realism.
