AA Milne's first Pooh book was published a century ago in October 1926. Generations of children loved it, but its inspiration, the author's own son, told the BBC that he took to "running away when people bring up the subject".
"Pooh, promise you won't forget about me, ever. Not even when I'm a hundred." This is the plaintive cry made by Christopher Robin to his teddy bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, in the final chapter of The House in Pooh Corner.
British novelist and playwright AA Milne needn't have worried. The first Winnie-the-Book was published 100 years ago in October 1926, and introduced a cast of characters modelled on the author's son and the soft toys he played with: lovably dim Pooh Bear, nervy Piglet, hyperactive Tigger, pessimistic Eeyore. Far from being forgotten, in the century since then the characters have taken on a life far beyond the parameters of their idyllic home, the Hundred Acre Wood.
BBC Radio 4, Desert Island Discs: Christopher Milne, 13/11/1976
From 1966, they became the subject of animated and live-action Disney films, in what is now one of the highest-grossing media franchises of all time. Pooh Bear has even courted controversy in Poland for being "inappropriate", sparked memes mocking the Chinese president Xi Jinping, and prompted tongue-in-cheek pop-culture theories in which the residents of the Hundred Acre Wood have been "diagnosed" with different psychological conditions.

President Donald Trump fired off a 1,321-word Truth Social post Sunday night mocking and attacking Bill Maher, days after the comedian defended attending a recent White House dinner with the president during his show's opening monologue on Friday night and declaring, "I like these dinners."
US President Donald Trump speaks at a midterm election campaign rally at Guardian Centers of Georgia in Perry, Georgia.
In the post, Trump lobbed multiple insults at Maher, calling him a "coward," a "major POTHEAD," and a "loser" while attacking the comedian's HBO talk show.
The president claimed that Maher was drunk during their recent dinner, alleging that he had "alcohol in his hand" as he walked through the White House and "looked like **** ."
Trump also disputed Maher's claim that the dinner, attended by ESPN host Stephen A. Smith and musician Kid Rock, lasted four hours, saying it lasted "two hours, maybe less," and adding he "felt it was a waste of time."

Khaby Lame turned a simple comedy concept into a global creator business. The Senegalese-born Italian star built his following by silently mocking complicated life-hack videos. His signature facial expressions and palms-up gesture became instantly recognizable. Lame has more than 160 million TikTok followers and was ranked among the world's highest-earning creators in 2025. Forbes estimated his earnings at $20 million that year. But what is Khaby Lame's net worth?
Lame's rise started after he lost his factory job during Italy's COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. TikTok gave him an audience, but brand partnerships turned that attention into money. Forbes Africa further reports that Lame has worked with brands including Hugo Boss, Airbnb and Binance. His business now stretches beyond TikTok, making Khaby Lame's net worth a bigger creator-economy story.
Yes, but the $975 million headline needs context. In January 2026, Rich Sparkle Holdings announced its acquisition of Step Distinctive Limited, a company tied to Lame's brand. According to Forbes Africa, Lame owned 49% of Step Distinctive before the transaction.
The deal involved Rich Sparkle shares rather than a straightforward cash payment. Forbes Africa also reported that Lame's stake reached a paper value of $6.6 billion when Rich Sparkle's stock surged.
That figure did not mean Lame suddenly had $6.6 billion in cash. Forbes also raised concerns about Rich Sparkle's small public float and the difficulty of using its stock price to measure Lame's actual wealth.

Angel Reese gave off bold Barbie vibes in the WNBA tunnel, wearing her Balmain dress unzipped to reveal a dangerously high-slit. Ahead of the second home game against the New York Liberty on October 7, the 24-year-old turned heads in a stunning black gown that highlighted her toned figure.

Angel Reese wore a Balmain Gathered gown for the photoshoot in the WNBA tunnel on October 7. The dress featured a sleeveless cut with structured shoulders and a high mock neckline. Its most eye-catching detail was the brand's signature oversized gold zipper running diagonally across the hip and down the front.
The unzipped thigh-high slit added a bold edge to the otherwise classic dark dress. The floor-length piece also boasted gathered details around the slit, exposing her toned legs as she walked or posed. She paired it with pointed-toe black high heels that elongated her frame while maintaining the monochrome color palette.

Chet Hanks confronted Eric André on the floor of ComplexCon, approaching the comedian in person more than three years after they publicly argued over his appearance on The Eric André Show.
Footage published by TMZ shows Hanks approaching André from behind and placing a hand on his shoulder. André initially turns toward him and extends a hand before the conversation grows tense.
"What are you talking about?" André asks during the exchange. Security steps between the men, and André eventually walks away with the group around him while Hanks remains with the people filming.
Hanks posted the video on Instagram on Oct. 5th, following the convention's Oct. 3rd and 4th run at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Hanks wrote that André initially had "NO MEMORY WHATSOEVER" of criticizing him in the media after their television taping. He also mocked the comedian for attending the event with what Hanks described as four security guards.

Kylie Brewer has posted a video on TikTok saying that the people mocking "handouts" want the money without any effort, and the system that would supposedly reward them has been created for some particular white groups.
"This is not something, like, to shame them for their income or anything like that, but that's why they get so p***** off about 'handouts,' because they think that they should be getting everything," Brewer said.
According to Brewer, the racists know that the country favors white people.
"They see the way that America is advantaged towards white people," she explained. "They literally understand that, even though they will deny it to your face. And they want some; they want the money."
The opinions these people form about the country depend on how well they perform compared to Black and brown people.

Chrishell Stause was left unimpressed with her ex-boyfriend Jason Oppenheim's enthusiastic praise of Elon Musk's Tesla technology.
The "Selling Sunset" star mocked Oppenheim for praising Tesla and announcing plans to get vehicles with Full Self-Driving technology for his employees.
OK! Magazine reported that Oppenheim recently shared a video of himself using Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology during a commute from Newport Beach to The Oppenheim Group's Los Angeles office. Oppenheim praised the technology, saying that the 1-hour, 15-minute commute would be a breeze. He claimed that the car would drive itself and stop at his office parking lot without him needing to touch the steering wheel.
"This is the most important video that I've ever posted," Oppenheim began. He praised the technology as "so safe" and explained why he had decided to part ways with his Bentley.
"I have no need for it. I'm not going to drive it," he said. "I'm going to be getting self-driven around from here on out," he added.

Comedian Tim Dillon roasted stone-faced Peter Thiel after awards ceremony presenter Bari Weiss made an Antichrist joke at his expense.
Thiel received the Axel Springer award in Germany earlier this week for his work in digital technology, and CBS News's Weiss used the venue to make her "foray into standup comedy," according to Dillon.
"That's the crowd's reaction, take a look at the crowd — that's Thiel and the rest of them — That's the crowd's reaction over at the comedy," Dillon quipped, cutting to video of the solemn-looking group.
"She's new! Hey, guys, she's a beginner. How about you lighten up? She's a beginner. She's been running CBS News!" Dillon exclaimed in mock-defense of Weiss.
"So, Bari is now starting out in comedy, but she's got raw talent and charisma. So, if you pair that with work ethic and then a desire to dominate the world and subjugate others, which we know she has, I think she will do actually very well in this," Dillon said before rolling video of Weiss attempting to lighten the mood:

A public company typically has limited control over third-party financial products that reference its shares, but Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) and AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AMC) are now testing that notion in public, in one of the year's most intense corporate spats. The debate revolves over stock tokens and has evolved from a heated social media post on September 3 to a live televised retort by September 9.
Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ:HOOD) expanded its tokenized shares offering, which is issued through a unit named Robinhood ****** ets (Jersey) Limited and traded on Robinhood's proprietary blockchain, Robinhood Chain, to include over 190 public firms, including AMC, without the companies directly signing on. When AMC CEO Adam Aron discovered that his company was among them, he did not mince words. On September 3, Aron posted on X, calling the practice "contemptible, outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable, vile," questioning how it could possibly be legal, and stating that AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:AMC) had no relation to the tokens and did not condone them.
He stated that the company would retain independent securities counsel and vowed to take the matter to the SEC, characterizing Robinhood's tokens as an unregistered securities product that undermines the regular relationship between a public company and its shareholders.
The market reaction was fast and telling: AMC shares rose as much as 21% in overnight trading after the public dispute broke out.
Robinhood did not back down. In the days that followed, the company's chief legal officer, Dan Gallagher, a former SEC commissioner, mocked the tone of Aron's complaint on social media, saying Robinhood "know[s] a little something about the US securities laws," and inviting AMC's lawyers to contact them. CEO Vlad Tenev originally commented on X with a brief "What's the concern?" before making his first extensive, broadcast comments on the controversy in a CNBC "Squawk Box" interview on September 9.

Ex-OL mocks viral Sonny Styles video after Commanders LB trucks Saquon Barkley for sack appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Washington Commanders were inconsistent on offense during Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, just as many anticipated, but fans got to see one player exceed the expectations that a large portion of the public had set for him. After getting roasted for a perceived lack of strength during preseason play, which was captured via video, rookie linebacker Sonny Styles displayed eye-catching power in Philly.
The former Ohio State star bowled over 2024 Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley before sacking Super Bowl 59 MVP Jalen Hurts. Retired offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz was quick to taunt the doubters following the thunderous play.
"So maybe that preseason week 1 'film review' mocking Styles wasn't indicative of how he might play in the regular season," the NFL ******* yst and podcast host quipped.

Luke Kuechly spent his playing career making sure he never had to guess where the ball was going. But these days, the harder question is guessing which network has him next.
CBS announced Monday that the newly enshrined Pro Football Hall of Famer will make his debut as a CBS game ****** yst in Week 3, calling Raiders-Saints from New Orleans alongside play-by-play voice Chris Lewis and sideline reporter Amanda Balionis.
A radio ****** yst for the Carolina Panthers, Kuechly's stock skyrocketed in recent months as he became Netflix's top NFL game ****** yst after auditioning with Noah Eagle at NBC's Stamford, Connecticut studios in early July. Eagle said Kuechly's football knowledge was never in question — that much was obvious from his playing days — but what stood out during their audition, a mock call of a game from the previous season, was how quickly he got comfortable in the chair given he'd never done the job before. Eagle told Sports Media Watch that it felt like Kuechly "could see things happening before they happen."
He justified that faith in his Week 1 debut, as Awful Announcing's Megan Armstrong wrote that he dazzled alongside Eagle in Melbourne, with the reaction across sports media running overwhelmingly positive.
The streamer is expanding its NFL package from two games to five this year, including the opening-week matchup in Australia, a Thanksgiving Eve game, and a Saturday night game in Week 18, and Kuechly is expected to anchor most of that slate. Between Netflix and his new CBS ****** ignments, he's on pace to call somewhere in the range of eight to 10 games as a game ****** yst this season, on top of his usual Sunday work as a Panthers radio ****** yst. Kuechly is also replacing Bill Belichick opposite Peyton Manning on The Breakdown.

The Iowa State men's basketball team's trip to the Phog in March 2027 is going to get an even bigger spotlight.
The Cyclones are slated to make one appearance on ESPN's "Big Monday" during the upcoming season, when they go on the road to Phog Allen Fieldhouse to face the Kansas Jayhawks on March 1, 2027. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT in Lawrence.
ESPN started its "Big Monday" showcase in 1987. This season, beginning Feb. 1, 2027, ESPN will highlight some of the top matchups in the ACC and Big 12 through the final Monday of the regular season. The Iowa State-Kansas game at Allen Fieldhouse will round out the "Big Monday" slate for the 2026-27 season.
Last season, the Cyclones and Jayhawks split the regular-season series. Kansas won the first meeting at Allen Fieldhouse, 84-63, on Jan. 13. The Cyclones comfortably evened the series with a 74-56 victory on Feb. 14 at Hilton Coliseum.
Kansas is coming off of a 24-11 season. It lost on a buzzer-beater in the second round of the NCAA Tournament to St. John's. The Jayhawks reloaded through the transfer portal and secured the No. 1 overall high school recruit. Freshman 6-foot-7 wing Tyran Stokes was the consensus top recruit for the 2026 class and he's already on the top of several 2027 NBA mock drafts.

"Oh, Camilla, nothing like a quiet Saturday in Balmoral. Clean Scottish air, dirty Scottish people … bliss," King Charles said, prompting Queen Camilla to add, "I do so love our weekends away. No responsibilities — just like every other day."
Prince Harry, portrayed by Jack Shep, then entered with Ayoade Bamgboye's Meghan. The Duke of Sussex said, "Daddy, I'm home."

Harvey Elliott went to Valencia in search of calm, minutes and the sort of fresh start that can rescue a career from drift. Instead, as Liverpool.com reports, he has arrived in the middle of turbulence, and for a young footballer trying to rebuild belief, that can be a cruel place to begin again.
The move to Spain felt, on the surface, like a sensible answer to a difficult year. Elliott had returned from an underwhelming loan at Aston Villa, a spell that promised more than it delivered, and came back to Liverpool needing clarity. Under Andoni Iraola, opportunities in pre-season were there in glimpses, but the direction of travel soon became obvious. He was not an obvious fit and early omissions from matchday squads told their own story.
So Valencia offered possibility. A big club, a demanding crowd, a league that can reward intelligence and craft, it seemed a place where Elliott might reconnect with the qualities that once made him such an exciting young midfielder. Yet football has a habit of mocking tidy plans.
IMAGO | Anfield Index
Valencia are bottom of La Liga after five matches, with only one draw to show for them. Supporters are restless, results are poor and the mood has soured quickly. Elliott, still working his way towards full sharpness, has managed only two substitute appearances. That was already a delicate situation. It has now become even more unstable.

Jessica Alba and her daughter twinned for "day and night" looks during recent outings. The "Fantastic Four" star shared a collaborative Instagram post with her daughter featuring two photos of the duo. They appeared in matching ensembles in the women's final of the 2026 US Open on September 12.
At the women's final of the 2026 US Open, Jessica Alba and her daughter, Honor Warren. looked like twins in matching outfits. The 45-year-old wore an airy, off-white midi sundress with thin spaghetti straps. It had a fitted sweetheart bodice that transitioned into a pleated A-line skirt.
She knotted a slate-gray sweater around her waist, adding a casual, laid-back structure to the monochrome outfit. Rimless, tinted oval sunglasses, large hoop earrings, layered gold chain necklaces, a black shoulder bag, and pointed-toe white leather flats completed her look. She wore her hair down in loose waves.
Meanwhile, Warren wore a relaxed, blue-and-white micro-checkered gingham maxi dress featuring a smocked bust, a lace-up front detail, and a flowy tiered skirt. She layered a soft white sweater, casually draped and tied over her shoulders. She accessorised with narrow dark rectangular sunglasses, a pendant necklace, a black shoulder bag, and dark brown leather ballet flats.
For the evening look, Warren and Alba switched into lace-trimmed black dresses. The actress wore a sultry black satin slip dress trimmed with black lace along the diagonal neckline and sheer lace hem. She paired it with glossy black platform ankle-strap heels. Further, she carried a Fendi Multicolor Baguette, adding a pop of color to her look.

Chris Eubank Jr was quick to react to Conor Benn's loss to Ryan Garcia on Saturday, mocking his bitter rival after the emphatic defeat.
Benn was fighting for a world ***** le for the first time, challenging Garcia for the WBC welterweight belt, when he suffered a second-round loss in Las Vegas.
Benn, 29, started aggressively as expected, but he walked onto a huge right hook in the second frame, as Garcia, 28, dropped the Briton badly. Benn beat the referee's count but was quickly overwhelmed, leading the official to step in.

The result marked Benn's second-ever loss, and his first via stoppage; in April 2025, Eubank Jr outpointed Benn, who returned the favour in November.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is one of the most anticipated upcoming book-to-screen adaptations on the 2026 movie schedule, and the press tour is already off to a great start thanks to Mckenna Grace. She plays one of the District 12 tributes alongside Joseph Zada's Haymitch Abernathy; however, in real life she's serving all the fashion looks better than the Capitol can.
The 20-year-old is set to play Maysilee Donner, who is the first tribute to wear the Mockingjay pin. Check out all these Hunger Games looks she's donned lately as the movie's press tour kicks off:
Move over, Katniss, there's a new Girl on Fire! The actress shared four amazing looks on her Instagram. The first one is a flirty sheer blue mini-dress. I especially love the floral socks and pointy heels to pair with it. Grace also wore another dress in a shade of baby blue that featured ruffles and a cute black bow in the front. The third dress is a white mini dress with bows down the middle and lace detailing at the top. And the last one is a simple black dress with a zipper in the front and knee-high tights.

Lil Durk remains in jail despite his Friday acquittal.
On 11 September, a Los Angeles federal jury found the rapper, whose real name is Durk Banks, not guilty of orchestrating a murder-for-hire plot that resulted in the death of a man in Los Angeles four years ago.
Prosecutors have confirmed he will remain in custody until his racketeering case, tied to the 2022 shooting death of Stephon Mack, is also resolved. That second trial on racketeering murder and firearms charges is scheduled for 5 October.
Longtime nemesis and fellow rapper 6ix9ine found a way to throw shade at Durk despite Chicago rapper's win in court.
6ix9ine had planned to throw a 'Lil Durk Going Away Party' in the event of a guilty verdict, and still held a celebration of sorts.
Posting a video on Instagram of him letting off fireworks and popping champagne, he reacted to the decision while mocking Durk about his deceased brother, Dontay 'DThang' Banks, and rapper King Von, who was signed to Durk's label, Only the Family.

Ohio State superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith knew exactly how to troll Texas after scoring a touchdown right before halftime in Austin on Saturday night.
At the tail end of a brutal half for the Longhorns, the Buckeyes got a last-minute touchdown on a beautiful catch from Smith.
TEXAS: Arch Manning's perplexed reaction to this improbable INT was priceless
After he got Ohio State that key touchdown, he broke out the infamous "Horns Down" hand motion to mock the Texas fans in the stands.
Of course, there's no better way to poke fun at Texas than with the "Horns Down," which isn't penalized in the SEC. Opponents have free reign over the hand signal, and they take advantage of it.

Dame Helen Mirren attended the MobLand Season Two world premiere, held at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London this evening, ahead of the new season's Paramount+ debut on September 18.
Neil Mockford/Getty Images
The actress, who plays Maeve Harrigan, head of the Harrigan crime family, brought her usual dazzle and charm to the red carpet wearing the Jenny Packham Dulcet sequinned gown.
Jenny Packham, a long-time favourite of the Princess of Wales, has built her reputation on eveningwear that celebrates embellishment, so perhaps it was inevitable that the sequins wouldn't be the end of the story. Rhinestones across the shoulders created an almost armour-like effect. It could have felt excessive, yet on Helen it only added to the sense of occasion.
A silver-metal Tyler Ellis Perry clutch and an updo, which showed off her Anabela Chan earrings, completed her look.

Kylie Brewer created a TikTok video in which she claims people mocked Charlie Kirk because he meant nothing to them.
The video is ***** led "No one respected Charlie Kirk. That's why he's a meme." In it, she questions Charlie Kirk's legacy.
According to Kylie Brewer, "The way that Charlie Kirk has been memed and absolutely made fun of shows that he really stood for nothing, because at the core of it, what he was was a regressive."
Brewer is criticizing Charlie Kirk's views on civil rights and gun possession.
"He wanted to go back to a time in society when different groups of people did not have rights. He said himself that it's, quote, worth a few gun deaths every year so that people have the right to bear arms," Brewer explained.

The Seattle Seahawks begin their 2026 season versus the New England Patriots on Wednesday. That doesn't mean some publications aren't already looking towards the 2027 NFL draft. With a new college football campaign officially underway, mock drafts have been populating news feeds.
NFL Draft On SI: A Sports Illustrated Channel was among the outlets that released new first-round mock drafts. Using power rankings to determine the draft order, they have the Seahawks picking at No. 31 overall. The pick? Clemson defensive end Will Heldt.
"Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider likes to keep four, five pass rushers in rotation," NFL Draft On SI wrote. "With DeMarcus Lawrence and Dante Fowler Jr. being aging veterans, adding another young rusher to the fold would fit the Seahawks' approach. Clemson's Will Heldt transferred to the program last season from Purdue and led the Tigers in tackles for loss (15.5) and sacks (7.5)."
Heldt placed third among returning Power Four edge defenders with an 84.4 PFF overall grade last season, according to Pro Football Focus. His 87.8 PFF pass-rush grade on true pass sets ranked 14th in the Power Four. He's been a dominant rusher for the Tigers.
Heldt feels like a prospect who will be on the Seahawks' radar.

Even though the season opener for the Washington Commanders is just days away, it is never too early to look ahead to the future and what the Commanders might do in the 2027 NFL Draft. In ESPN's most recent mock draft, Washington is projected to have the No. 10 overall pick and select wide receiver Charlie Becker out of Indiana.
First, it is notable that the Commanders are projected to have the No. 10 overall pick. ESPN projects no trade, meaning Washington is expected to have the tenth-worst record in the NFL and will not be close to making the playoffs.
This is a rather dismal prediction for a team that just reached the NFC Championship in 2024. Washington's fate relies on the health of quarterback Jayden Daniels, who suffered three different injuries last season. If he can stay healthy all season, the Commanders have a chance to compete for a playoff spot this season.
However, there are other concerns about Washington's playoff chances. Arguably the biggest concern for the Commanders going into training camp was the wide receiver depth. They have Terry McLaurin as the No. 1 receiver and signed Stefon Diggs as the No. 2, with rookie Antonio Williams expected to be the No. 3. It is unclear what Williams will bring to the table as a third-round draft pick, and McLaurin also missed time last year. Diggs is coming off his seventh 1,000-yard season in his career, so he should help Daniels out this season.
Overall, it is reasonable to believe that Washington may end up with the No. 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but that projection could change as the season goes on. If the Commanders do end up with a top-10 pick, Charlie Becker would not be a bad selection. Here is what ESPN's Jordan Reid had to say about Washington selecting Becker:

When it comes to fashion, the first person on your mind would probably not be Rosie O'Donnell. Although O'Donnell has had a complete Hollywood transformation, the noted comedian is known more for being an accomplished talk show host while delivering whip-sharp quips. But it appears she also knows a thing or two about dressing herself for a wedding, especially her youngest son's wedding. Blake O'Donnell got married in August 2024 and Rosie made sure she was dressed in her best for the occasion.
rosie/Instagram
Instead of a typical dress, O'Donnell opted for a sharp suit, as seen in the image above, that she posted to her Instagram account. The custom made suit was champagne-colored, with floral motifs adorning both the blazer and pants. She wore a pair of white Oxford shoes, keeping her graying hair in a short neat cut. Not only is the outfit ideal and comfortable, it also serves as the perfect alternative to a dress for older women. O'Donnell definitely rocked this look to a T, looking stunning as she and her son shared a wholesome mother-son dance to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time."
