Two former Robinhood engineers allegedly used confidential information about upcoming cryptocurrency listings to make profitable trades on decentralized exchange Hyperliquid, federal prosecutors said Tuesday.
Hefu Chai, 36, and Huaisong "Jerry" Xiang, 30, each face one count of commodities fraud and one count of wire fraud.
"Today's charges make clear that corporate insiders cannot evade the securities and commodities laws by trading based on misappropriated information in derivatives like perpetual futures, tokenized securities, or other similar financial instruments," U.S. Attorney Jamie McDonald said in a statement.
Perpetual futures, or "perps," let traders speculate on an **** et's price—often with leverage—without owning it. Unlike conventional futures, the derivatives do not expire. Hyperliquid is one of the largest decentralized platforms for trading perps and has faced increased regulatory scrutiny.
According to the DOJ, the engineers allegedly used nonpublic information about upcoming Robinhood Crypto token listings to buy related perpetual futures before the announcements, earning profits "for their own benefit" between 2025 and 2026. Delane intercepted Broncos quarterback Bo Nix the first time he was thrown at on the opening series of the game. He stumbled after making the catch and went to the ground untouched, and Delane was not on the field for the Broncos' ensuing series.

On the eve of their regular season debut, the Houston Texans have announced another significant injury. Rookie DT Kayden McDonald is apparently suffering from an ankle injury and will begin the regular season on injured reserve. Battle Red Blog's Nickschwager noted McDonald's appearance on the injury report yesterday, but a placement on IR is a new and rather sudden development.

Chanel shoppers are known to be a discerning bunch, but artist Tom Sachs has created an unauthorized replica of the luxury house's sought-after Paris boutique in lower Manhattan.
Located in Sachs' studio at 245 Centre Street, the phony Chanel store has a sign with 31 Rue Cambon on its front door, and a black Chanel-esque ensemble in one street-front window and a red one in the other. During a pass-by Monday night, the studio's security grates were down and a sign on the front door read, "NOTICE BY ENTERING YOU ARE TO BE RECORDED."
Media requests to Sachs were unreturned.
Although Sachs' outpost has a sign with what looks like a handwritten version of Chanel's proprietary interlocked "CC" monogram, the designer label has not been involved in the project in any way. A Chanel spokesperson said Thursday, "Chanel is not involved in this project, and we did not participate in its conception or development. This is not part of the cultural [programs] that Chanel supports around the world and has no affiliation with Chanel."
Scheduled to open Friday and to run through Oct. 10, Sachs' store will have highly limited access — with hours set for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays. Kansas, which went on to win 51-6, didn't allow any points until the fourth quarter — a pair of field goals. LIU only amassed 146 yards of total offense and went 2-for-13 on third downs. KU finished with 11 tackles for loss and three sacks, only allowing LIU to average 2.8 yards per play.

It's been a long time since former Arizona star Aari McDonald played in a WNBA game. That has come to an end with the first-place Minnesota Lynx announcing her signing on Monday afternoon.
McDonald was injured last August while playing for the Indiana Fever. She tried to come back by playing in the Unrivaled 3×3 league during the WNBA offseason, but she was again sidelined by injury. As WNBA training camp approached this year, she said she would not be in camp but she would return this season. There is a clear upward direction of travel; the opposite can be said of Nice. Olivier Pantaloni's arrival was meant to bring fresh momentum, but that isn't easy when the ownership situation remains unchanged.
Club legend Dante was back at the Allianz Riviera, whilst the fans also returned for the first time this season. There was a feeling of yester-season that translated onto the pitch as Le Gym struggled to find any kind of fluency on the ball. Errors were too frequent and punished. There was a let-off when Jean Vercruysse found himself free inside the box. Youssouf Ndayishimiye made himself big and made the block. But it was the Burundi international who was left scrambling following a turnover of possession deep in the Nice half. Ndayishimiye didn't lose it, but he couldn't win it back. The Basha and Chandler high school football teams both showed why they are nationally ranked during their season-opening game on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Each time Chandler scored, it was answered by Basha with either a big play by receiver Makai Nelson or a defensive statement during the top-ranked Bears' 37-26 win before an overflow crowd at Basha High and a national TV audience on ESPN.
The game was a rematch of last year's Open Division **** le game, won by Basha. Both teams entered the game ranked among the Top 25 nationally, with Basha No. 1 in The Arizona Republic's preseason 6A rankings and Chandler No. 3.
This game was a much more competitive contest than last year's championship, which Basha won 34-7.

The NBA is stacked with a whole generation of rising young stars, and Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero is one of them. In just four seasons with the Magic, he has proven himself as their most important player with a solid all-around game and consistent, mature leadership on the floor.

UNC heads across the pond for a 12 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, August 29 against the TCU Horned Frogs, who hopped into Kenan Stadium last year for a 48-14 thumping. North Carolina revamped its roster during the offseason, landing multiple starters at skill positions, while also retaining key players from 2025.
Now just a few days out from its 2026 opener, North Carolina named its seven Team Captains. Running back Benjamin Hall, offensive lineman Christo Kelly and wide receiver Jordan Shipp captain the Tar Heels' offense, while defensive end Melkart Abou-Jaoude, defensive back Kaleb Cost, defensive lineman Isaiah Johnson and linebacker Derek McDonald captain the defense.
Kelly gives UNC's offensive line a much-needed reinforcement, particularly with a new starting quarterback in Chapel Hill. Hall likely splits time again with 2025 breakout star Demon June in the backfield, while Shipp returns as one of the ACC's top pass-catchers.

Wendy's chief executive Bob Wright outlined a five-point turnaround strategy on Monday, saying the burger chain sacrificed ingredient quality for cost savings and became too dependent on discounts — factors he said contributed to Wendy's losing its long-held position as the country's second-largest burger chain by U.S. sales.
Wright told The Wall Street Journal that Burger King seized that position by overhauling its Whopper sandwich and modernizing its restaurant fleet. "We have made some decisions around quality that were rooted in efficiency and cost savings," Wright said. "We have let our value equation erode."
Wright, 58, took the helm as permanent president and CEO in May. His turnaround plan covers five areas: food quality and value, operations, store upgrades, marketing, and digital sales. Wright said a comprehensive menu overhaul is needed, working from individual ingredients through finished items and across every major category, including hamburgers, chicken, salads, and the Frosty-anchored dessert lineup.
As part of the leadership overhaul, Wright said Tariq Hassan, a former McDonald's executive, has joined Wendy's in the newly created role of chief marketing and customer growth officer. The current head of U.S. marketing is set to leave the company within weeks. Wright noted that the chain's marketing spending amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars annually, and said both the creative messaging and the way that money is placed across media channels require a rethink.
On the question of store count, Wright acknowledged that net unit losses have accumulated over the last year, with more closures anticipated, and framed those shutdowns as a deliberate mechanism for helping individual franchisees bring greater financial health to their restaurant holdings.
