Red Sox Offense Vanishes As Losing Streak Reaches Four Games originally appeared on NESN. Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Boston Red Sox looked nearly unstoppable at the plate when they erupted for 25 runs across two games.
That version of the offense has disappeared.
Boston managed only three runs in Tuesday night's 5-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre, extending its losing streak to four games. The Red Sox have scored three runs or fewer in each defeat, turning one of baseball's hottest lineups into a group suddenly searching for answers.
It is Boston's longest losing streak since it dropped four consecutive games from June 7-10. The Red Sox fell to 64-55 and now sit 8.5 games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East. They also have lost the first two games of their four-game series against a Toronto club that entered Tuesday well below .500.

NEW YORK (AP) — Ryan McMahon and Trent Grisham each hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to send the New York Yankees past the slumping Seattle Mariners 4-1 on Tuesday night.
Ryan Weathers carried a one-hit shutout into the sixth and Luis García Jr. sparked the decisive rally with his second double of the night for New York, which leads the American League wild-card race.
Randy Arozarena homered in the sixth for the fading Mariners (56-64), who have lost five in a row and 14 of 19 to fall a season-worst eight games under .500. Seattle, which opened a nine-game trip against three teams currently in playoff position, has mustered only five runs during the losing streak and nine in the past seven games.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. sent García to third with a single in the seventh, and rookie Spencer Jones drew a one-out walk. McMahon gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead with a bases-loaded single off reliever Michael Rucker (0-4), and Grisham added his two-run single off Eduard Bazardo.
Tim Hill (4-2) replaced Weathers with a runner on in the sixth and retired all four batters he faced. Brent Headrick struck out two in a perfect eighth and David Bednar got three outs for his 27th save.

Aug. 11—Chauncey Wiggins gave Florida State's upset bid a jolt of life with 37 seconds left during an ACC Tournament quarterfinal game against top-ranked Duke last March.
With the Seminoles trailing 80-77, Wiggins received the ball on the right corner and went to work on Duke's Cameron Boozer, backing the Naismith Award winner down until he got to his spot outside of the paint. That's when Wiggins used his long frame to pull up over the sturdy, 6-foot-10 center, and sink a 13-foot step back shot that trimmed the Blue Devils' lead to one.
The clutch jumper represented the 967th and 968th points of Wiggins' career — the last ones he'd score as a college basketball player. Or so he thought.
Florida State came out on the wrong end against Duke, losing 80-79, and subsequently turned down an invitation to play in the NIT, signaling the end of Wiggins' college journey.
The wing was prepared to turn the page, fulfilled with how his four college seasons played out. He made consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances at Clemson, playing key bench minutes for the 2023-24 team that advanced to the Elite Eight. Under first-year Florida State coach Luke Loucks, he averaged double figures for a group that claimed the Seminoles' first winning ACC record since 2020-21. He nearly eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone, posted a career win-loss record of 92-45 and earned academic honors at Clemson in 2024.

TORONTO (AP) — Ernie Clement drove in the tiebreaking run in the sixth inning, Brett Bateman had two RBIs and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 5-3 on Tuesday night.
Toronto's George Springer walked to begin the sixth and went to third on Alejandro Kirk's single before scoring on Clement's fielder's choice.
Ceddanne Rafaela and Wilyer Abreu hit solo homers, but the Red Sox lost their fourth straight. It's Boston's longest skid since losing four in a row from June 7-10.
Adley Rutschman went 1 for 3 and walked twice in his debut with the Red Sox. The three-time All-Star, picked up in a deal with Baltimore at the trade deadline, hadn't played since July 18 with the Orioles because of left wrist inflammation.
Chase Lee (1-0) got five outs for his first big league win, and Spencer Miles earned his first career save.

Gold (GC=F) December futures opened at $4,400 per troy ounce on Monday, August 10, 2026, flat compared to Friday's closing price. As of 8:22 a.m. ET, the price of gold edged down to $4,391.50.
Gold prices this morning opened at their highest level since early June following a disappointing employment report on Friday that prompted many ****** ysts to pare back their expectations of a rate increase by the Fed next month.
With no major changes to the tenor of negotiations between the U.S. and Iran, with President Trump saying the U.S. is "low-keying it," market observers look ahead to two key inflation reports later this week, which are expected to show price pressures continue to mount for Americans.
It will be interesting to see if this week's inflation reports are enough to change the trajectory of rate-hike expectations.

Aspire Biopharma Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:ASBP) said Monday it completed its $30 million acquisition of Dura Driver Control Systems, expanding the biopharmaceutical company into the automotive and mobility-control market.
The deal, first announced in June, gives Aspire 100% ownership of Dura Driver Control Systems, or DCS, which is now a wholly owned subsidiary. Aspire paid about $30 million in cash.
DCS is a tier-one automotive supplier focused on electronic driver controls and systems supporting vehicle electrification, safety, lightweighting and sustainability. Aspire said the acquisition is expected to add revenue, earnings and cash flow while diversifying its business.
The company also entered into a $22.5 million senior secured revolving credit facility in connection with the transaction. The company said it will use borrowings from the facility, along with cash on hand, to finance the acquisition.
"Closing the DCS acquisition is a cash-flow-positive milestone that structurally enhances Aspire's valuation," CEO and Board Chair Kraig Higginson said.

LAS VEGAS – Jamahal Hill wants to dive right in the deep end of the UFC heavyweight pool.
Hill, a former UFC light heavyweight champion, announced he'll be taking his talents up to the heavyweight division later this year, and he wants to face the very top of the weight class right off the bat. Out of the names that are currently up in the rankings, there's one that stands out for him: Josh Hokit.
"Top five – I'd love to fight the top five," Hill told MMA Junkie and other media. "I feel as though even if I continued fighting at light heavyweight, it would be top five. I'd like to see the same thing here. You know, I'm here to bring energy and bring good fights. I believe my style is very exciting, and it translates very well to the big boys. I'm going to get them moving. I'm going to get them moving. I'm coming with that action.
"It's not going to be a whole lot of sitting back, looking at each other. I'm here to put my hands on people, so that's what I'm coming for the heavyweight division. I think the heavyweight division needs that, and I want Josh Hokit. I want Josh Hokit first fight. You know, that's definitely a fight I want more than any other fight. That's the fight that I want."
Hill is currently on a three-fight skid. He was stopped by Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka before losing a decision to Khalil Rountree Jr. in June 2025. Hill hasn't fought since, as he's been recovering from an injury.

Kate Beckinsale has scrubbed the posts from her Instagram account after another wave of comments targeting her weight and appearance. Before clearing the page, the 53-year-old actress shared screenshots of some of the messages she had received and recorded a lengthy response explaining the health and personal struggles she says have affected her.
Beckinsale said people regularly accuse her of being anorexic, using drugs or losing too much weight whenever she posts photographs of herself. In a since-deleted video detailed by Just Jared, she urged people to consider what may be happening in someone's life before commenting on their body.
She also discussed mast cell activation syndrome, saying she was diagnosed 16 years ago. Beckinsale described her stomach as "ground zero" when the condition flares and said eating can become difficult, while severe acid reflux can also affect her voice.
The actress connected her current struggles with a period of intense grief as well. Her mother, actress Judy Loe, died on July 15, 2025, while her stepfather, director Roy Battersby, died on January 10, 2024.
Beckinsale said she was fortunate to have a doctor in London who recognized what she was experiencing and referred her to a specialist in New Jersey. She described mast cell activation syndrome as an autoimmune condition and said she had received the diagnosis 16 years earlier.

Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares are in the red today amid reports that rising memory costs could result in higher prices for the iPhone 18, while a Jefferies report indicated disappointing prospects for an all-glass iPhone. However, Gene Munster, managing partner at Deepwater ***** et Management, said in a recent program on CNBC that he still feels good about Apple and remains bullish on the stock.
Munster believes a potential increase in iPhone prices could actually help boost Apple's revenue growth, with limited impact on demand. At the core of his argument is his expectation of a strong upgrade cycle for Apple's iPhone business, which he believes could drive higher sales over the next several quarters. He also sees a broader consumer hardware upgrade cycle driven by personalized AI beginning around 2027, which he believes could create another major growth opportunity for Apple.
"There's going to be a massive upgrade cycle around consumer hardware," Munster said. "That's probably going to start 27 mid to late 27 and probably go for a few years. And that's based on personalized AI. That's going to do inference on device that's going to benefit Apple, that's going to benefit other hardware makers. And so when you put this together, I think shares are undervalued. And I think we're going to see a strong next 12 months."
Not all is good for Apple. The stock trades at around 35x forward earnings while growth is decelerating. Revenue growth is expected to fall back to single digits in FY27 once the current upgrade cycle matures. Q4 guidance already shows the slowdown starting, with revenue growth of 9% to 11% versus 16% in Q3. That makes Apple the slowest grower in the Magnificent Seven outside Tesla, yet it trades at the highest multiple. Meta grows over 20% at roughly 19x forward earnings. Alphabet trades at 18x. Amazon at 23x. Microsoft at 25x. Apple is at 35x.
Apple is losing the AI race and outsourcing its way through it. The new Siri runs on Google's Gemini model. Apple reportedly pays around $1 billion a year for it. Microsoft, Alphabet, and Amazon have ways to monetize their cloud platforms. Apple is renting intelligence from a direct competitor and has no clear way to make money off it.

The most noteworthy deadline addition for the Red Sox is set to begin a new chapter in his career tonight as Adley Rutschman debuts for Boston north of the border.
The goods news for the Red Sox is Rutschman's hit exceptionally well against the Blue Jays in his career, both at Rogers Centre and in general. In this building, Rutschman's got a career .311 average and a .966 OPS in 137 plate appearances (best numbers in any ballpark with at least 50 career plate appearances); and against the Blue Jays all time, he's got a very similar .311 average and .961 OPS in 258 plate appearances (third best against any team with at least 40 plate appearances).
Oddly enough, the only two teams Rutschman's hit better against in his career than the Jays are the A's and the Pirates, who the Red Sox just played, and are about to play later this week. Classic baseball!
The bad news for the Red Sox though is they're on a three game losing streak and facing Dylan Cease, so all the success Rutschman's had against Toronto might not apply here. Then again, Rutschman's gone 2-6 with four walks against Cease in his career, so many he's arriving just in time to a lineup that was on the wrong side of a one-hit shutout against Cease the last time they faced him back on July 25th at Fenway.
Also of note going into tonight's game, Toronto's bullpen is gassed. Here's their usage in terms of innings pitched by day over the last week:

Emily Martinez was so disappointed in her last match.
The Holland boxer wasn't close to her best and lost a fight in town that all of her family and friends saw.
"I felt like my world fell apart," Martinez said.
The Michigan Golden Gloves champion vowed never to let that happen again.
Not the losing part, but putting so much weight on winning and losing that it affects other aspects of her life.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant will miss four to six months after he had surgery on his injured left knee, coach Ben Johnson said Tuesday.
Bryant, signed to a $40 million, three-year deal as a free agent this offseason, was expected to be an important part of a revamped Chicago secondary.
Johnson said Bryant had surgery Friday without disclosing details of the injury. He did not rule out the possibility that Bryant would return this season.
"I got to see him today," Johnson said. "He's going to be in a hurry to get back to help us out there at the end of the year."
Bryant was hurt at practice on Aug. 3. ESPN initially reported that he could miss eight to 10 weeks, but the team never confirmed that timeline.

While concern continues to rise about the cost of groceries, another major issue is quietly cropping up in your neighborhood: local grocery stores closing.
During its June 2025 earnings call, Kroger announced that it would shutter 60 locations over the next 18 months, citing underperformance. The closures also affect other brands under the company umbrella, including Fred Meyer, Fry's Food and Drug, Harris Teeter, Foods Co, Food 4 Less, King Soopers, Mariano's, Pick 'n Save, and QFC.
Many consumers struggling with higher food costs have turned to discount grocery stores for relief, but those are also winking out of sight in some areas. Aldi is another chain closing stores in 2026, with locations shuttering in Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin. While the chain has plans to expand up to 3,200 locations by 2028, it needs to cut underperforming stores to reach that goal.
Grocery Outlet also falls into the discount category -- and it's also closing stores. The chain announced in March 2026 that it would shutter 36 locations. CEO Jason Potter said that the chain stretched itself too thin with a rapid expansion plan. 24 locations included in the closure are on the east coast, translating into less discount grocery options for many consumers in need of them.
Now, another grocery has announced new closures, some affecting locations that have been open for decades.

Justin Rose is proud that, having turned 46 less than two weeks ago, he enters the FedEx Cup playoffs at No. 24 and bucking the PGA Tour trend of pros in their 40s — especially the late 40s — trying to hang on to whatever status that they can manage until becoming eligible at age 50.
Rose won earlier this year at the Farmers Insurance and nearly won the Masters in April and shows little sign of losing anything off his fastball.
"I'm not really interested in sticking around and just making up the numbers and waiting for the Champions Tour or whatever that might be," he said on Tuesday in a press conference ahead of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.
Lazio have reportedly asked for Davide Frattesi on loan, but Inter still hope Nottingham Forest will buy the midfielder outright, so they can reinvest in Liverpool's Curtis Jones.
The Nerazzurri risk losing out on so many transfer targets this summer because they must sell before they can bring in any new players, and that is proving to be extremely difficult.

Frattesi was the most likely to take the exit after struggling for regular playing time under both Simone Inzaghi and then Cristian Chivu.
However, ***** ody seems prepared to pay the €30m asking price for the Italy international.

Rosie O'Donnell shared her experience taking the weight-loss drug Mounjaro, including the side effects. The former talk show host said she has "never felt better." However, she revealed that she had lost 12 pounds without making any changes, leading her to worry that she might have cancer.
O'Donnell spoke about the details on the August 11 episode of the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast. The 64-year-old said, as quoted by Us Weekly, "Three years ago, the doctor told me … they said, 'You have diabetes, can you take a shot?' I said, 'I think so. I don't know. I've never done a shot. Is it insulin?' … They said, 'No, it's this new drug and it really helps with your blood sugar.'"
O'Donnell said she was never told that the medication could cause rapid weight loss. She said doctors were focused on getting her "numbers" down. After starting Mounjaro, O'Donnell went to ***** u but said she could not eat after her son Blake proposed to Teresa Garofalow Westervelt. The couple got married in 2024. O'Donnell is also the mother of Parker, 31, Chelsea, 28, Vivienne, 23, and Clay, 13.
The comedian said she was overwhelmed with emotion after missing her mother, Roseann, and wishing she could have witnessed Blake's engagement and new chapter in life. She initially believed that emotional experience explained her weight loss. However, two weeks later, "I get on the scale. I call my doctor crying. I must have cancer. I've lost 12 pounds and I haven't done anything. It's been three weeks since I started that medicine."
O'Donnell, who first opened up about taking Mounjaro in January 2023, explained that losing weight had always been difficult for her, even when she actively tried. She said the drug could help many people with obesity but criticized the high cost of the treatment.

Liverpool reportedly showed "concrete interest" in Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven earlier this summer, with fresh details emerging after the Netherlands international committed his future to the north London club.
According to De Telegraaf, Liverpool made an approach for Van de Ven in June while uncertainty remained over his contractual situation at Spurs.
The defender has now signed a new agreement with Tottenham, effectively closing the door on any immediate move away.
Liverpool's interest makes considerable sense when viewed through the circumstances surrounding the club this summer.
Andoni Iraola inherited a squad requiring reinforcement at centre-back, and Van de Ven represented the sort of defender who could immediately alter the physical capabilities of Liverpool's back line.

The NBA announced its Christmas Day slate this morning, and sitting under the tree are some big names in new places like LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo and LaMelo Ball. We've also got a rematch of the NBA Finals with Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs heading back to New York to take on Jalen Brunson and the Knicks.
James is at the center of the biggest game of them all, as the Philadelphia 76ers are taking on his former team in the Los Angeles Lakers. It'll be must-see TV as James and Luka Doncic square off after spending the last two seasons together.
With the NBA Christmas Day slate unveiled, let's the rank the games we're most excited to see.
Neither team appears to be a serious ******* le contender in 2026-27, but at least Nikola Jokic and Stephen Curry play an aesthetically pleasing brand of basketball. A 10:30 p.m. ET tip-off is a tough ask on Christmas Day, too.
A rematch of the 2025 Western Conference Finals, the Timberwolves will be eager to make a Christmas Day statement after losing that series in five games. The addition of LaMelo Ball will give Shai Gilgeous-Alexander a harder time defensively in addition to it being great TV alongside Anthony Edwards.

Our ****** ysts just identified a stock with the potential to be the next Nvidia. Tell us how you invest and we'll show you why it's our #1 pick. Tap here.
Management decided to exit the Deutsche Bahn and Network Rail ETO contracts to significantly derisk the company and improve the go-forward cash flow profile.
Harsco Environmental growth was driven by modest steel market improvements and internal cost discipline, despite volume headwinds in Northern Europe and China.
Rail performance benefited from a strategic shift toward aftermarket opportunities, which saw double-digit growth while original equipment demand remains at multi-decade lows.
The company implemented a value creation playbook focused on business efficiency, including closing the Ludington, Michigan manufacturing facility and rightsizing European operations.

Upwork (NASDAQ: UPWK) stock is losing ground on Tuesday following the release of the company's second-quarter results. The company's share price was down 12.2% as of 12:30 p.m. ET. At the same point in the daily session, the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite had fallen 0.2% and 0.4%, respectively.
After the market closed yesterday, Upwork published its Q2 numbers. Results in the period were mixed, with earnings coming in below expectations despite a sales beat. Making matters worse, the gig-economy marketplace company lowered its full-year guidance.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Upwork reported sales of roughly $191.7 million in the second quarter, beating the average ******* yst estimate by roughly $1.7 million. On the other hand, earnings per share of $0.20 in the period missed the average Wall Street target by $0.01. Sales were still down 1.7% year over year in the quarter, and active clients on the company's platform declined roughly 4% year over year to 763,000. A 5% increase in gross service volume (GSV) per customer to $5,230 helped offset the client decline, but the business is facing persistent headwinds.
With its Q2 report, Upwork lowered its full-year sales guidance to between $730 million and $750 million -- down from previous guidance for sales between $760 million and $790 million. Management also now expects non-GAAP (adjusted) earnings per share to be between $1.38 and $1.43 -- down from its previous target for earnings per share between $1.50 and $1.55.

Over a month before the regular season opener in Minneapolis, the Green Bay Packers know who will be under center and starting at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings come Week 1.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Vikings are naming former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray as the team's starter entering the 2026 season -- beating out 2024 first-round pick J.J. McCarthy.
Another layer of intrigue: Murray, the first overall pick in the 2019 draft and a two-time Pro Bowler, played the last three seasons in Arizona under coach Jonathan Gannon, who is now the Packers defensive coordinator.
Released by the Cardinals, Murray signed a one-year deal with the Vikings, hoping a stop in Minneapolis can help revive his NFL career.
Murray, 29, has started two games in his career against the Packers, losing both. He was intercepted in the end zone by Rasul Douglas to end a 24-21 win for the Packers in 2021, and he led the Cardinals to only 13 points in a 21-point defeat at Lambeau Field in 2024. Murray did not play in Arizona's loss to the Packers last season.

The MITT transaction materially improves value realization for CHMI shareholders while preserving meaningful participation in the combined platform. CHMI entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by TPG Mortgage Investment Trust (MITT), with closing targeted for 4Q26. The $3.10 signing value represents a 29% premium to CHMI's unaffected $2.41 share price and approximately 0.98x June 30 BVPS of $3.16, while roughly 30% of announced consideration is cash and CHMI holders retain approximately 27% ownership of the combined company. Through the fixed 0.3063 exchange ratio, the stock component provides both near-term value realization and continued exposure to MITT's earnings, book value and potential rerating following closing.
Strategically, the merger creates a larger and more diversified residential mortgage REIT with a clearer path to earnings and valuation upside. The combined investment portfolio is expected to total approximately $9.0 billion, while management expects $7-$9 million of annual operating efficiencies, 2027 earnings accretion and lower pro forma economic leverage of roughly 2.9x. TPG's direct ~$20 million / $0.52-per-share cash contribution, proprietary securitization capabilities and experience originating, acquiring and managing MSRs add further support, with greater scale, lower unit costs and broader capital-allocation flexibility providing multiple avenues for value creation across the combined platform.
2Q26 EAD beat expectations as stronger RMBS carry and dollar-roll income drove the best quarterly core earnings performance since 1Q25. EAD increased to $0.15/share from $0.14 in 1Q26 and $0.11 in 4Q25, while dividend coverage expanded to approximately 1.5x on the $0.10 quarterly payout. The stronger-than-expected print supported an upward revision in the Street's 2026E EAD estimate to $0.59/share from $0.55, with current estimates of $0.15/share for both 3Q26E and 4Q26E.
Lower funding costs and wider RMBS spreads improved the quality of 2Q26 earnings despite higher prepayments and modest book-value pressure. Net interest income rose to $4.7 million, RMBS net interest spread widened to approximately 3.45% from 2.90%, and aggregate leverage declined to 5.02x from 5.49x, while unrestricted cash increased to $52.1 million from $46.7 million. Offsetting these gains, RMBS CPR increased to 9.7%, MSR CPR rose to 6.3%, BVPS declined modestly to $3.16 from $3.23, and Real Genius required a $2.8 million impairment.

Wendy's (WEN) nearly two years of struggles competing with the likes of behemoths McDonald's (MCD) and Yum! Brands' (YUM) Taco Bell, plus upstarts such as Shake Shack, are creating one big problem.
Franchisees are closing their locations and heading for the hills.
Buried inside Wendy's brutal second quarter earnings call last week was a mention that 289 locations closed in the US during the first half of the year.
There are about 5,700 Wendy's in the US.
It doesn't sound like US closures will be abating.

The NBA's opening night and Christmas Day schedules for the 2026-27 season are set.
The league announced Tuesday that the 2026-27 regular season will tip off Oct. 20 with an NBC/Peacock tripleheader, and the marquee window belongs to LeBron James in his first appearance as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. The slate of games opens with the Boston Celtics visiting the Detroit Pistons at 3 p.m. ET, a rematch of the East's top two regular-season teams from a year ago. At 7 p.m., the Philadelphia 76ers travel to Madison Square Garden to face the defending-champion New York Knicks, marking not just James' Sixers debut but Jaylen Brown's as well. The Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs close the night at 9:30 p.m. in a rematch of last season's Western Conference Finals.
None of the above scheduling could get finalized until LeBron actually picked a team. Commissioner Adam Silver was stuck in the same holding pattern as everyone else, telling CNBC's Andrew Ross Sorkin in July that the league couldn't finalize opening week or Christmas Day until James made up his mind.
"The teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule," Silver said at the time, conceding he had no more insight into James' plans than anyone else. James ultimately settled on Philadelphia over stops in Cleveland, Miami, or a pairing with Steph Curry in Golden State. The league moved quickly once the decision was official, building both of its marquee showcase dates directly around him.
Christmas Day retained its familiar five-game format, even as several of this year's pairings deviated from what most had anticipated. The slate on ESPN and ABC opens at noon with the Spurs visiting the Knicks, followed by the Heat and Celtics at 2:30, the 76ers at the Lakers at 5, the Thunder at the Timberwolves at 8, and the Nuggets closing out the night at Golden State at 10:30.

Patchy Mix knew he wouldn't get his hands raised Tuesday in Tokyo, as he missed weight for his RIZIN 54 co-main event bout with Shoko Sato and any other result other than a loss would be immediately overturned to a no-contest, and the two-point deduction for the miss made the difference in the end.
Mix was more than six pounds over the bantamweight limit, the reason why he was docked two points, and decided to go for the finish early on. Sato survived a rear-naked choke in the opening round, and another submission attempt in the third, damaging Mix's leg when on the feet. Sato was declared the unanimous decision winner (28-27 x3), extending Mix's losing skid to four.
