A Southern California high school has suspended its varsity football team, and will forfeit its next matchup, for unsportsmanlike actions in a heated rivalry game that also saw the school's mascot flipping off the opposing crowd.
Victor Valley High School defeated Apple Valley 20-7 on Friday in the 56th edition of the annual rivalry game known as the Bell Game. The winning side not only gets bragging rights but also possession of the rivalry trophy, a large bell that is currently painted green to match the school's colors. However, Victor Valley's celebrations, and the antics of their jackrabbit mascot, crossed a line, according to district officials. Victor Valley Union High School District Superintendent Carl Coles and Victor Valley Principal Darius Robinson released joint a statement announcing the team would be suspended as a result.
"There is a clear line between passionate competition and unacceptable conduct," the statement read. "That line was crossed at the Bell Game on Friday, September 11. Members of the Victor Valley High School football team behaved in an unsportsmanlike manner toward the opposing team and its fans, including offensive gestures and language."
With the suspension, Victor Valley will forfeit its upcoming game against Brea Olinda.
While the district's letter did not specify the actions and gestures made that warranted this punishment - the letter also didn't identify offending players - videos circulating on social media seem to provide some insight into what led to the decision. For one thing, the Jackrabbits mascot gave the middle finger to the Sun Devil crowd early on in the game as it walked down the track surrounding the field on Apple Valley's side of the stadium.

Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey's planned reunion will no longer happen after their exits from a new project. The two stars previously appeared together in the blockbuster Wicked franchise, playing Glinda and Prince Fiyero Tigelaar, respectively.
The London revival of the popular musical Sunday in the Park With George has been canceled following Grande and Bailey's exits, according to Variety. The planned 2027 production will no longer proceed as previously thought.
"Empire Street Productions will retain the rights with a view to presenting the production in 2028. Further details will be announced in due course."
The revival was set to take place at London's Barbican Centre next summer. Ariana Grande was supposed to play both Dot and Marie. Bailey was set to star opposite her as George Seurat.
Moving forward, Ariana Grande will be busy with her upcoming The Eternal Sunshine Tour. She will also appear on the big screen in a new movie. The 33-year-old will feature alongside Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller in the comedy Focker-In-Law. It's set to hit theaters on November 25, 2026. Despite her plans to take a break, Grande will appear in the promotional events for the movie.

The defending U.S. Open champion knocked off this year's Wimbledon champion 7-6(1), 3-6, 7-6(7), by reversing the narrative of her season since April.
When Nosková's unflappability under pressure left the world No. 1 facing a 4-2 deficit in the third set — as well as the loss of her ranking — Sabalenka did not spiral to defeat, as she has done several times the past few months.

Bailey posted 8.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 57% from the field last season at Indiana. After playing in a system that didn't maximize his strengths and being asked to play out of position, Bailey could have a much higher ceiling with the Johnnies.
The former three-star recruit comes from an athletic family. His father, Nathan, played basketball at Navy and Pittsburgh, while his mother, Linda, played volleyball at Pittsburgh. His siblings also competed collegiately across basketball and volleyball. Coming from Harvard, Massachusetts, Bailey wasn't heavily recruited, which ultimately led him to Davidson.
Bailey started all 97 games he played during his three seasons at Davidson. In those three seasons, Bailey was named Atlantic-10 Most Improved Player and First-Team All-Atlantic-10 after the 2024-2025 season. With this proven track record, Bailey became one of the premier transfer recruits, ranking 63rd in the portal, right behind future national champion Elliot Cadeau. PERTH, Australia (AP) — British social media celebrity and rapper Yung Filly can return to Britain before he stands trial in Australia next year on charges of raping a fan, a judge ruled on Thursday.
The 31-year-old Columbian-born entertainer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was convicted by a District Court of Western Australia jury last month of ******* aulting a woman in a Perth hotel room in September 2024.
The jury acquitted him on three counts of raping her. But prosecutors said last week they would retry him on another three rape charges on which jurors could not agree.
Barrientos returned Thursday to the court, where Judge Linda Black agreed to change his bail conditions so he can return to London while he waits for his second trial.
Black said although the retrial would be expedited and likely happen in 2027, there could be a delay.

More than 10,000 people were already inside on August 25 when Williams and Alcaraz emerged in matching purple-and-black Nike kits for the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship. The public-address announcer worked through Williams' accomplishments as the applause continued building, according to The Guardian.
Then Alcaraz double-faulted on the first point. "The stuff that I have strong opinions on is the stuff I haven't been allowed to say," said Cohn. "The stuff that's usually trending and hot topics are the things I tend to want to discuss the most. That's the stuff that I had the gag order on every year I was with ESPN and weren't allowed to talk about."
Twice per week, Cohn now hosts The Linda Cohn Show from her palatial estate in Los Angeles. The topics can range from sports to pop culture. The opinions are her own, written and presented from the heart. Cohn has never lost her passion for sports, but she also never had a platform to truly choose and discuss her personal feelings on subject matter at length.
That's why it made all the sense in the world for Cohn to immediately enter the digital content ******* e following her ESPN departure.

The '90s were a golden age for the modeling world and it gave us some of the biggest household names today. We still think about some of them often (like Naomi Campbell's most iconic looks from the '90s). Further, it's also hard not to wonder what many supermodels of the era look like now. You probably aren't surprised to learn that Linda Evangelista is still an absolute stunner today. Other trailblazers of the time, like Yasmeen Ghauri, are less talked about now than the likes of Campbell and Evangelista, but we still wonder about her all the same. Ghauri is of Pakistani and German descent and, during her rise to fame in the early '90s, she helped to usher in a more diverse era for the modeling industry. In fact, she was the first South Asian woman to become a Victoria's Secret Angel — a huge accomplishment at the time. More recently, Ghauri is still a knockout. She posted a photo of herself on Instagram in 2022 alongside fellow supermodel Helena Christensen.

As you can see, Ghauri is a vision. For starters, we must know who her facialist is — there isn't a single skin imperfection in sight. And, she's even joined the exclusive club of celebrities who proudly show off their gray hair. Most importantly, though, she looks totally content with her life.

If there's a habit I've picked up from watching markets, it's that when everyone is looking at the loudest trade, I start wondering what's happening in the quiet corners.
The biggest clues aren't always found in a soaring stock that's already overvalued or a famous **** yst calling for a breakout. Sometimes they're buried somewhere else that investors never bother to open. I'd put this one in the last category.
The latest 13F filing from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust shows a new $352.7 million position in The Home Depot (HD). At the same time, the trust cut its stake in Berkshire Hathaway by about $818 million.
That's not pocket change, and it's certainly not the kind of portfolio move I'd scroll past without asking why.
Why? This is big money moving from one of the market's most iconic investments into a home-improvement giant. There must be a story hiding underneath the numbers. The trust just bought the shares while everyone else seems to be waiting for the housing market to come back to life.

Caitlin Clark has been dominating over the second half of the season. In her most recent outing, a 95-91 overtime win over Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream, Clark scored 26 points and added 9 ****** ists. The Fever star is the only player in the league in the top three in both points and ****** ists per game, and former ESPN sportscaster Linda Cohn recently gave her unapologetic opinions on Caitlin Clark's MVP status.
Clark, despite being a clear candidate for the award, has been largely left out of the discussion, and Cohn makes it very apparent that the third-year star would have her vote.
"Take Caitlin Clark off the Indiana Fever, and what are they?" Cohn asked on her self-titled YouTube show.
"I'm not voting for Caitlin Clark because she's the biggest star in women's basketball, no. I'm not voting for her because she sells tickets," Cohn continued. "I'm not voting for her because millions of people tune in to watch her; she's appointment viewing. No, that's not why I would vote for her; I'm voting for her for what she does on the basketball court."
On the other hand, four-time MVP recipient and current frontrunner for the award this year is A'ja Wilson, as she leads the league in scoring and chases a career high in points per game.

Potsdam's relegation from the Women's Bundesliga has been confirmed since Matchday 20. The Brandenburg outfit lost 3-0 to Eintracht Frankfurt last time out, their fourth straight defeat. That said, after collecting just one point in the first half of the season, there has been an improvement in the second half of the campaign from the team who are second in the all-time Women's Bundesliga standings. Sunday's match at the Campus will be Turbine's last in the German top flight for now after 29 successful years.
