Another busy NFL Sunday kicked off bright and early for Week 6, with the Jacksonville Jaguars playing in their second consecutive game in London. The Jags failed to come away with a win, falling to the division rival Houston Texans on a last-second field goal, but there was one major bright spot.
Former No. 2 overall pick Travis Hunter had a breakout performance on both sides of the ball, hauling in his first touchdown catch of the year before coming up with an interception late in the game. It was nearly enough to spark a Jacksonville comeback.
After the game, Hunter's wife, Leanna Lenee, was gloating about Hunter's performance and took some time to call out some of his past critics who were outspoken with their thoughts that Hunter couldn't be a two-way star as a pro.
Specifically, Lenee aimed at Shannon Sharpe, who immediately clapped back on Nightcap with Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson on Sunday night.

As the registrar of voters for this Northern California community, Curtis was both election administrator and candidate this summer. After he lost, he certified the results as “full, true and correct.”

A new biography about Tom Brady includes details about the end of his marriage to Gisele Bündchen. "Brady: An American Story and the Price of Greatness" was written by sports journalist Lars Anderson and released on Sept. 29, 2026.
The book draws on more than 350 interviews with people who knew Brady on and off the field. It includes accounts about the couple's marriage and their 2022 divorce. Bündchen has previously said the reasons for their split were more complicated than reports that linked it primarily to Brady's football career.
Anderson's biography examines Brady's life beyond his record-setting football career. Publisher Celadon Books says the author conducted more than 350 original interviews with people who knew Brady on and off the field. The book explores his childhood, career, family life, and retirement.
It also examines what Anderson presents as the personal cost of Brady's intense commitment to football and his pursuit of success. The marriage receives considerable attention because it overlapped with some of Brady's biggest professional achievements. Brady and Bündchen married in 2009 and remained together for 13 years before finalizing their divorce in October 2022.
They share a son, Benjamin, and a daughter, Vivian. Both described the divorce as difficult while emphasizing that their children would remain a priority as they moved forward separately.

A woman who reported to the police that Rick Ross allegedly committed domestic violence against her is revealed to be the rapper's former girlfriend by TMZ, just a few hours after Ross himself surrendered on the domestic violence allegations.
Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II and who is 50 years old, turned himself in to Miami Beach police early Thursday morning. According to the documents provided by the county jail and court, Ross has been charged with felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery related to domestic violence and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 6:10 a.m. He has posted a $6,000 bond for his release: $5,000 for the felony and $1,000 for the misdemeanor.
The sources in law enforcement, cited by TMZ, claimed that the woman contacted the police on Tuesday, roughly a month after the alleged **** ault. The website has not disclosed the complainant's identity, and authorities have not yet released the arrest affidavit.
As TMZ reports, the woman said that the alleged **** ault took place on August 28th, when Ross woke her up over a photo she had been tagged in on social media.
According to the woman, Ross demanded explanations from her about lying to him, slapped her in the face, and accused her of having affairs with other men. She told the police that he hit her every time she denied it. Moreover, the woman claimed that Ross struck her in the chest several times, choked her till she could not breathe, yanked her ponytail, and pushed her against the wall. Then she showed the photos of the injuries to the police, according to TMZ.

Rapper Chingy has been in the spotlight for over two decades, and in a recent interview, the "Right Thurr" performer made a revelation that shocked everyone. Speaking with blogger Jason Lee, Chingy revealed that he's a father of four, including Isaiah Russell-Bailey, a known actor who has appeared alongside Tia Mowry and Raven-Symoné. Every sport has its unwritten rules, and one of the most universal is simple: Don't give your opponent "bulletin-board material." Don't say something that can be printed out, slapped on a wall, and pointed to by a coach looking for a little extra motivation. Don't give the other team a reason to make the game personal.
In the end, almost anything can be twisted into locker-room material in one way or another. When Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back Zyon McCollum was asked how he felt about playing against one of the most talented offenses in the league in Week 1, he had plenty of ways he could have answered.
And he made a decision.
"We're going to have opportunities, guaranteed opportunities," he said when asked about his Week 1 opponents. "I mean, they want to get their season started off right. They want to get in rhythm early, so the ball is guaranteed to go in the air. And a ball in the air belongs to us. You know, that's the mentality that we have. That's what we're going into the game thinking. We know we're going to get tested early, so it's an incredible opportunity for us.
"There will be no better feeling than when we take away three, four interceptions."

Just seven days from now, the 2026 NFL season will officially begin for our Minnesota Vikings, as they will host the Green Bay Packers at U.S. Bank Stadium. That means the offseason is officially over, and we asked you as part of our SB Nation Reacts survey for this week exactly what you thought about it. We have those results, and for the most part it appears that folks were relatively happy with how things went.
Of those who took the time to respond to our survey, 45% gave the offseason a "B" grade, which is pretty good. Combine that with the 7% that graded it as an "A," and over half of our respondents think that the purple had a better-than-average offseason overall. Another 34% thought that the moves the team made merited a "C" grade, which is an average mark. So, the overwhelming majority of you seem to think that the offseason in Minnesota wasn't anything approaching a disaster or anything like that.
Still, a few of the people who responded were more on the "gloom and doom" end of the spectrum. There were 11% of the people who responded to the poll that gave the Vikings a "D" for their offseason moves, while the remaining 3% went as negative as possible and slapped a big ol' "F" on what the Vikings have done since the 2025 season came to an end. That seems a little harsh, but everyone is free to have their own perspective on things.
Frankly, I think a "B" is just about right. I think the Vikings addressed a lot of the things they needed to address. Hopefully the quarterback issue is solved, and if it is this team has a lot of potential to do some damage in 2026. The defense should continue to be a menace as long as there aren't too many injuries. Will it be enough to make a run in what should still be the most competitive division in the NFL? We'll have to see.

STILLWATER — On Sept. 19 last year, Oklahoma State players trudged off the Boone Pickens Stadium field after the final whistle blast. Tulsa players galloped.
Nine white Golden Hurricane uniforms crowded around to force OSU receiver Gavin Freeman out of bounds at the 10-yard line. OSU's desperation hook-and-ladder never had a realistic chance to tie the game. Freeman slapped his gloves together once, unleashing some frustration felt by everyone in the stadium wearing black and orange.
Tulsa beat OSU 19-12. It snapped OSU's 10-game winning streak in the Turnpike Classic rivalry and was the first time Tulsa beat OSU in Stillwater since 1951.
In the OSU locker room postgame, emotions were mixed.
"It was a lot of anger and stuff, people trying to be calm and stuff, telling us: 'We good, we good' and stuff like that." defensive end Jaleel Johnson said Tuesday. "I didn't think so, I mean, that was bad."

NEW YORK — On the last changeover of the final Grand Slam tournament he will ever play, Stan Wawrinka sat in his chair, leaned all the way forward and fiddled with his wristbands.

Wawrinka's fans stuffed themselves into every inch of Grandstand court Monday at the US Open, hoping to see one more down-the-line winner roped off his majestic one-handed backhand, one more screaming fist pump, one more finger pointed to his temple after a huge point — the signature celebration from his brief time as the antidote to the dominance of tennis' Big Three.
Try as they might to will a Wawrinka comeback into existence, the "Let's go Stan" chants faded. Moments later, he walked to the net and embraced Matteo Berrettini, who had beaten him 7-6, 7-6, 6-0. Then he went to the middle of the court, clapped his hands and tapped his heart.
"I'm gonna miss it for sure," Wawrinka said, voice cracking. "I'm gonna miss it."

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck may have come unusually close to another post-divorce encounter in Los Angeles, but there is no evidence yet that the former spouses actually spent time together.
Both were photographed at the same West Hollywood office building on Aug. 20. Just Jared reported that Lopez and Affleck were each seen leaving the building that day, creating the possibility that their visits overlapped.
One detail made the timing particularly noticeable. Photographers noted that Affleck's purple Cadillac was parked nearby when Lopez arrived and would have been clearly visible to her.
They had a remarkably similar office-building overlap while separated in 2024 and later reunited publicly for a movie they were both professionally involved in.
The Aug. 20 photographs establish that Lopez and Affleck were at the same West Hollywood office complex during the same general period. They do not show the two arriving together, leaving together or interacting inside or outside the building.

ST. LOUIS – As Rory McIlroy settled into a chair to be interviewed by Golf Channel's Kira K. Dixon, he summed up his bogey-free 6-under 64 at Bellerive Country Club on Thursday – good enough for a share of the lead with four other players at the BMW Championship — in one word.
"Unexpected," McIlroy, the world No. 2 and reigning Masters champion, said.
"I knew you had it in you," Dixon shot back with a smile.
McIlroy was coming off a dismal performance in the sweltering heat of Memphis at a TPC Southwind course that he's on record as saying isn't his cup of tea. The Northern Irishman got lapped by winner Scottie Scheffler, finishing 66th and beating just two players in the field who bothered to complete 72 holes.
McIlroy left Memphis deflated but he flew home and got back to work on Monday with his longtime swing coach Michael Bannon and caddie Harry Diamond.

After a sweep against the Minnesota Twins where they scored a combined 23 runs over three games, they pull out a solid win as the Marlins try to cling to the wildcard race.
It was all of the makings of a good team win. It started on the first ball in play of the night, Trea Turner made a classic Derek Jeter-like jump throw to nail Esteury Ruiz. Cristopher Sánchez did not have his normal velocity tonight but it didn't matter too much. He still got six strikeouts and made plenty of Marlins hitters look silly on the changeup but there were breaks. The Marlins offense recorded eight hits, including three straight innings with at least one leadoff baserunner.
It was not always pretty but he gutted it out. Sánchez did catch a nice break in the fifth. After back-to-back singles to start the inning, Heriberto Hernández squibbled a a grounder right to Bryson Stott on the third base bag, who fired a rocket to second base for a double play. Xavier Edwards then hit a weak ground ball to Alec Bohm to end the threat.
Meanwhile, the Phillies' offense hit Janson Junk around for five innings but struggled to deliver the final blow. They were able to capitalize in the bottom of the third, with an excuse-me groundball that dribbled down the third base line for a Justin Crawford leadoff double. After a Kyle Schwarber strikeout, Trea Turner slapped a single to put the Phillies on the board.
After a Bryce Harper walk, Luis Arraez then punched a single into right field to double the Phillies lead to two.

The St. Louis Cardinals have momentum, but would that translate into a sweep of the day/night doubleheader against the Cincinnati Reds Monday night? The ball was in the hands of Andre Pallante who's turned into one of the Cardinals most reliable starters this season. The question was if the Cardinals bats would give him the run support he needed. The answer would come from the bat of Herrera and the hits and hustle of Jordan Walker, but the outcome would eventually fall into the hands of the Cardinals bullpen.
The Cincinnati Reds were the first to score Monday night in the bottom of the 1st inning when Elly De La Cruz, Sal Stewart and JJ Bleday hit back-to-back-to-back singles to open their half of the inning loading the bases. Eugenio Suarez lifted a sacrifice fly to center to give the Reds a 1-0 lead, but that's all they would get in the 1st after Pallante was able to nurse a double play out of Toglia.
In the top of the 4th inning, the Cardinals would begin their own rally when Iván Herrera (who had just remarkably thrown out Elly De La Cruz) blasted a 93 mph sinker into the right-centerfield seats to tie the game 1-1.
Alec Burleson and Jordan Walker hit back-to-back singles before Joshua Báez grounded into a fielder's choice advancing Burleson to third. Alec would then score when Masyn Winn slapped a single into right field giving St. Louis a 2-1 advantage.
The Reds would squander a great scoring chance in the bottom of the 4th inning when Bleday and Suarez hit back-to-back singles leading off the inning giving Cincinnati runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs. However, they would get nothing when Pallante struck out Toglia and McLain before getting Rodriguez to weakly ground out to Burleson at first to end the inning. No soup for you!

Joey Logano — winner: "My team did a great job. The pressure was on everybody to make the right calls, to execute the runs, to have a good pit stop there. We were door-to-door pretty much onto pit road. That tested everything we had. I thought we were gonna be in good shape because the run before that we were a lot faster than (Chase Briscoe) right at the end, but we weren't able to be the same amount of good as we wanted to be. This is the first time I've had all of my kids here for a win, so this is a real special one for our family. I'm looking forward to enjoying it. It's a great recovery so far. There's a long way to go in the season, but we can see the front from here. We've still got a couple more to gain some more points to set ourselves up better. I just like doing burnouts. Chase Briscoe — second: "Yeah, I don't know what more I needed. I thought that last run I was a little bit better than him. To get there at the end, prior run to the pit stop, I just lost brakes, got really, really loose. Gave up a three-second advantage. That was ultimately the difference. One bad run. Like I said, that was the difference maker there in the end. It's weird to be running second here. This has been a real struggle to me, this place. I think that's my first ever top 10 here even. To get close, not get it done is so frustrating. I had a really fast Toyota and wasn't able to seal the deal there in the end. The brake deal was interesting. I had great brakes. I felt like a large majority of the race it was to my advantage. I could get into the corner so deep compared to everyone. As I kind of lost that, I lost my advantage. I came not mediocre, but I wasn't quite as strong as what I needed to be to maintain there. NEW BERLIN, New York: Hunter Lawrence took the lead on Lap 1 and rode uncontested to the checkers and add three points on Jett Lawrence in the 2026 Pro Motocross championship. Hunter expanded his advantage to 15 points with five motos remaining.
Jett was pinched on the start and got a modest start in fourth. He made short work of Eli Tomac on the opening lap and set his sights on Haiden Deegan in second. On Lap 3, Deegan slammed the door on Jett, who attempted to take the inside groove away from the rookie. Jett fell to sixth, passed two riders quickly, and then renewed his battle with Deegan.
Jett took third away from Deegan on Lap 7. Until today, Jett Lawrence had never lost a moto at Unadilla.
Jorge Prado settled into second after passing Deegan on Lap 5, but he lost a ton of time in lapped traffic. Jett took the position from Prado with two laps remaining and salvaged two points.
Deegan earned his second holeshot of the season and led the opening lap. He nearly crashed at the beginning of the second lap, which allowed Hunter to take advantage.

Couldn't get near what was a great penalty and only had a few soft shots to deal with, although their was a wide open shot very early on that should have hit the target. Showed how good he is with his feet early into the game when he skilfully turned the press.
Played a more traditional right back role today and did well defensively, although the team had a little less control in the first half as a result. Still popped up with another goal, passing home from eight yards out via a set piece.
Was heavily involved in the game, had multiple shots when up for set pieces and defended well off the ball but there were a couple of dodgy moments. Bursting out of defence early, he lost the ball and was lucky to see a lob go wide, then gave away a sloppy penalty.
Had a relatively easy game defensively, although had to be alert with a dangerous cross that he managed to head over from close range. Played some great ****** out of defence today and put in a brilliant cross that Reinildo could only steer wide.
Shut out any threat down his side and put in some great recovery tackles when Rennes were threatening. Also got into some great positions going forward, overlapped for Talbi and a good shot was deflected wide, just missed when he got onto the end of O'Nien's cross then forced a brilliant save from Samba from a Rigg cross.

Romero on Friday flew to Madrid, underwent his medical and signed his new contract to 2031. Sporting director Mateu Alemany has closed this deal for an initial fee of €33 million, according to Marca. The Madrid daily reports that Spurs can receive another €7 million in bonuses. Spurs will retain a 15 percent sell-on clause, per reports in England. The fee is in line with each of the other deals Alemany has concluded this summer, the exception being Alejandro Grimaldo's €20 million move from Bayer Leverkusen.
Diego Simeone had long courted Romero, a 58-time Argentina international who led Spurs to a Europa League crown in 2025. Atleti attempted to sign him last year, but Spurs slapped an €80 million price tag on Romero and eventually renewed his contract to 2029 while naming him club captain. One summer later, after a turbulent campaign that saw Romero rip club management multiple times, Spurs are moving on — and Simeone is getting his top defensive target at last.
Following a 156-game Spurs career, Romero is expected to be the anchor of a refurbished defense at the Metropolitano. He can line up in a trio alongside Dávid Hancko and Marc Pubill to form a 3-5-2 where Grimaldo and Marcos Llorente would play as wing-backs. He can play in a four-man defense alongside either Hancko or Pubill; the other could slide over to full-back.

Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White went scorched earth on her critics during a post-game presser on Tuesday night, saying she will always stand by her players and "everybody else can go to ***** !"
White spoke out in the face of heavy criticism after a hard foul on Fever star Sophie Cunningham over the weekend, when she was grabbed around the neck and thrown to the court by Chicago Sky guard DiJonai Carrington.
Carrington was slapped with a flagrant foul and tossed from the game.
After Cunningham chided Carrington for what she called an "intentional" hit, White astonishingly appeared to take Carrington's side, saying, "I don't think that DiJonai intentionally came out to get her across the neck like she did. But it did happen, and I thought it was the right call."
The apparent failure to stick up for her own player led to intense backlash, as she was hit with boos from hometown fans ahead of Tuesday night's game against the New York Liberty.

EAST RUTHERFORD - Jaxson Dart faked the handoff and rolled the other way on a naked bootleg, nothing but green grass between him and the first-down marker on a third-and-5 play during team drills.
"Critical situations" is how Giants coach John Harbaugh termed it, and all Dart did was what he was supposed to do.
The Giants' quarterback got the first down and immediately went down, smoothly sliding feet-first while staying in bounds, essentially ending the game in that scenario.
You would've thought Dart scored the game-winning touchdown on opening night against the Cowboys the way the sideline erupted in delight. Was it a Bronx cheer of sorts? Perhaps not dripping with as much sarcasm, mind you, but the point was the same: the moment itself was appreciated by all.
"I clapped. I applauded," Harbaugh said with a laugh, clapping again for effect in his post-practice news conference Monday. "I applauded when [Dart] did that. It was great."

Felix Rosenqvist and Will Power walked away from the Grand Prix of Portland with second- and third-place podium finishes, but their post-race focus remained squarely on traffic nightmares, with both drivers taking aim at IndyCar's approach to backmarkers.
Rosenqvist started on pole in the #60 Meyer Shank Racing Honda, commanding the early pace and leading 33 laps. However, a combination of a tight exit from his pit box near rookie Mick Schumacher's crew and an overcut strategy by winner Alex Palou relegated him to second position.
While acknowledging Palou's strong pace on the primary tires, Rosenqvist pulled no punches regarding lapped cars holding up race leaders.
"(Palou) just drove better, to be honest," Rosenqvist said. "Not a lot quicker, but he was a little bit quicker, especially on the blacks. That first stint he outsmarted us, did one lap longer. I didn't know he did that, so maybe we need to work on communication. I don't think I could have kept up with that pace he did anyways, if I saved that much fuel."
Rosenqvist also criticised the lapped traffic he and Palou encountered before their final stops. Both lost time behind Louis Foster, who had recently emerged from the pits on fresh tyres.

Nick Emmanwori did the smallest bit of stretching with his teammates before he watched them practice again. Fellow safety D'Anthony Bell and their coaches joked with Emmanwori and slapped him warmly on his back. It was the next, incremental step in the dynamic safety/linebacker's return to Mike Macdonald's top-ranked defense from arthroscopic ankle surgery last month. Emmanwori remains what the team has thought all along: on track to play in the opener in four weeks.
And a player who had his worst football day in this event almost a year to the day showed he is all the way back.
The Seahawks' annual fan-fest, training-camp practice at Lumen Field Saturday evening was the second straight practice rookie first-round draft choice Jadarian Price missed. He was in team sweats walking out as the champs took the field to the crowd's cheers to begin drills. A team spokesman said the running back has "lower-body soreness," per a team spokesman.

Montana Fouts flirted with perfection as Team USA beat ***** an 2-0 in the gold medal game of softball's International Cup in Oklahoma City.
Fouts made the No. 1 ranked team in the world (for now) look helpless. She retired the first 18 batters she faced. Pinch hitter Yamato Fujita slapped a single through the right side to lead off the seventh inning and spoil Fouts' bid for perfection.
A one-hit shutout would suffice. Fouts struck out eight, registering a backward K for the final out. She ripped off her mask and pounded her chest.
"She had her rhythm, she was very focused, nothing got her rattled, nothing took her off course," Team USA coach Patty Gasso said. "It was outstanding. Out-standing."
