Meghan Markle shared the first glimpse of her husband, Prince Harry, and their kids in the UK. Over the weekend, she posted an Instagram video featuring a domestic routine with her family. It was the first time the world peeked into the Sussexes' life in Britain since they returned. For those unversed, three weeks ago, the Duke and **** ss moved back to Harry's home country with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Meghan Markle's kids seem to enjoy their life in the UK with their mom and dad since their return. On Sunday, the "Suits" alum shared an Instagram Reel on her account, giving the world a glimpse of her family. Although the clip didn't clearly show the children's faces, it was evident that they were happy in their father's homeland.
The video began with Harry holding his wife's hand as the two walked on a wet trail. Surrounded by big green trees on both sides of the road, Markle turned around and encouraged to follow along. Next, viewers saw tiny feet of one of the kids in front of a fireplace, giving a cozy vibe. Then, the scene changed to the **** ss stomping lightly in muddy water.
Furthermore, the reel showed Princess Lilibet cycling while her brother cheered for her. Prince Archie soon ran alongside her sister, passing her and moving towards a herd of deer. Meanwhile, the kids' faces didn't appear in the clip, but their cheerful voices and body language delivered the excitement. Then, the song "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham! started in the background.
The video also showed Harry sitting on a boat with his kids and fishing. The Sussexes' dogs accompanied the family on the countryside adventure. Meanwhile, Markle added a British flag and a heart emoji on the screen throughout the Instagram reel.

General Motors is developing a domestic battery supply chain it expects to complete within two to three years, even as the company currently relies on some Chinese-sourced materials for its existing battery production.
Kurt Kelty, GM's vice president of battery and sustainability, told CNBC that the company's near-term goal is full domestic sourcing. "We're developing a supply chain such that, two years from now, three years from now, it will be domestic," Kelty said. "That's what we're aiming for — when we get into market, we've got a domestic source for that."
Kelty's comments center on sodium-ion battery cells that GM is developing with Denver-based startup Peak Energy for use in stationary energy storage systems for homes, businesses, and data centers. GM expects to reach commercial production of those cells around 2029, according to CNBC. A GM spokesperson confirmed to CNBC that the company would apply the same domestic sourcing priority to battery cells for future electric vehicles.
Unlike conventional lithium iron phosphate chemistry, sodium-ion cells are built around sodium from soda ash — a resource the U.S. holds in abundance — sidestepping the lithium and ferrous sulfate supply chains that China currently controls. Kelty added that sodium-ion cells handle a broader span of temperatures, which means they can function without the active thermal management that drives up the cost and complexity of stationary storage installations.
"The better thing to do is try to leapfrog, come up with a different technology that's actually better that we can actually source here," Kelty told CNBC.

On August 13, a federal appeals court ruled in favor of Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD), upholding a preliminary injunction that bars the defendants from importing or facilitating the sale of foreign-market Gilead-branded medications in the US. The US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit found that the differences between Gilead's HIV medication for the US market and the foreign versions being imported were "material, not theoretical." The controversy began in December 2024 when Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) filed suit against a number of companies, including third-party administrator Meritain Health, pharmacy benefit manager ProAct, and pharmacies Rx Valet and Advanced Pharmacy, alleging illegal imports of its best-selling HIV drug Biktarvy.
The dispute dates back to December 2024, when Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD) sued a group of companies, including third-party administrator Meritain Health, pharmacy benefit manager ProAct, and pharmacies Rx Valet and Advanced Pharmacy, alleging illegal imports of its top-selling HIV drug Biktarvy. The lawsuit arose from a specific instance in which a patient in Maryland received the medicine in the mail from Turkey, with label instructions written in Turkish.
A federal district court in Baltimore ruled in Gilead's favor and ordered a preliminary injunction, determining that the company was likely to succeed on its Lanham Act trademark violation and unfair competition arguments. As the case continued, the injunction was increased to include new sellers like CanaRx, ElectRx, and ScriptSourcing. The defendants filed an appeal with the Fourth Circuit, and the district judge declined to suspend the injunction while the appeal was pending, thus the import restriction has been in effect the entire time. The recent ruling maintains the order rather than overturning it.
In court documents, Rx Valet stated that the Turkish-sourced Biktarvy was chemically identical to the US version, which was offered at a significantly higher price. Meritain, for its part, said that it has never supported getting non-FDA-approved pharmaceuticals from outside the US and denies the claims, despite being named as a defendant.
The Fourth Circuit rejected the defendants' main argument that the imported and domestic versions of Biktarvy are interchangeable. The court's judgment that the two versions differ materially, not just in packaging or labeling, but also in the quality-control protocols that each version goes through before reaching a patient, challenges the basic argument that these alternative funding programs have used to support their business model.

Angel investor and All-In Podcast host Jason Calacanis warned that allowing Chinese electric vehicles into the U.S. could devastate domestic automakers even as their low prices attract consumers, reacting to Sen. Elissa Slotkin's (D-Mich.) claim that President Donald Trump could loosen barriers as part of a China deal.
"This would be the end of the US automotive industry — but consumers will love to buy these cars," Calacanis wrote in an X post on Wednesday. He added, "Everywhere I go, from the Middle East to Europe to Mexico, the streets and Uber fleets are filled with dirt-cheap Chinese EVs," calling such U.S. access "a disaster."

Gabriel insists ******* nal are not satisfied with winning the Premier League last season, and they have their sights set on several more trophies as a team, with many people tipping them to dominate both domestic and European football.
The Gunners finished second in three consecutive seasons before finally winning the league, and in the same season, they reached the final of the Carabao Cup and the Champions League. It was one of the best periods in the club's history, as they continued to perform consistently well under their manager.
Arteta is keen to ensure ******* nal perform at a high level during this campaign as well. The manager recognises the importance of maintaining certain standards, but his players understand this too, and they have returned for the new season as hungry as possible.
Their start to this season has been impressive, and many expect them to add more ******* les to their cabinet when the campaign ends next summer. Gabriel will be an important part of that challenge, and the defender has made it clear that the players are determined to achieve more after winning the Premier League.
Arsenal's ambition is not limited to one competition, with the squad aiming to challenge for the major trophies available to them. Gabriel believes the desire to win must remain strong, particularly because the players themselves welcome the pressure that comes with representing the club.

Pakistan great Wasim Akram has expressed frustration over the country's continued struggles in Test cricket, arguing that the lack of quality batting talent emerging through the system has become a major concern.

Speaking to the media in Lahore on Friday, the former fast bowler said Pakistan's home-and-away Test series defeat to Bangladesh should have prompted the authorities to take immediate corrective measures. Instead, he felt little changed after what should have been a warning sign.

Akram pointed towards the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which has been running for a decade, and questioned whether the tournament had produced any significant batting talent for the national team.

"It has been 10 years since the PSL started, but has a single batter been produced by the PSL? Yes we have produced a few bowlers but tell me have we produced any noteworthy batting talent," he questioned.
Akram also highlighted the emergence of a 15-year-old batting talent in neighbouring India, an apparent reference to Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, as an example of the kind of player Pakistan needs to produce.

"I think when we produce a batting talent like the 14-year old then we will see improvement coming through," Akram said.

While he felt Pakistan remained competitive in white-ball cricket, the former pacer was far less optimistic about the team's position in the longer format, describing the state of Test cricket as "bad".

Akram also played down the importance of who takes charge as Pakistan's coach, saying that whether the PCB appoints him or Gary Kirsten, the fundamental challenge would remain because the coach would still be working with the same pool of players.

Rather than repeatedly changing personnel, Akram called for the PCB's domestic structure to be given time to produce results. He believes the system should be allowed to operate for three to four years, with patience and long-term planning essential to any improvement.

Akram admitted that he was just as disappointed as any other Pakistani by the team's recent performances.

"Club cricket needs to be revived if we want improvement in red ball cricket. The PCB should spend 100 million rupees each in Karachi and Lahore, as talent comes from club cricket."

He also called for greater consistency in the national side, pointing out that Pakistan have continued to rotate players without addressing the underlying problems.

He said there should be consistency in the team, but the players remain the same -- they just keep coming and going.
Pakistan's ongoing Test series in England also came under scrutiny, with Akram criticising the team's approach against the home bowlers.

"In England in the ongoing series they didn't move their front foot forward, playing bowlers like Ollie Robinson while standing rooted in the crease. You need to play with courage, but for that, talent is essential."

Akram also offered his ******* sment of Pakistan's fast-bowling resources, arguing that raw pa

Real Madrid are back in domestic action on Saturday, as they prepare to host Rayo Vallecano in La Liga at the Bernabeu. Jose Mourinho's side are aiming to bounce back after their narrow defeat at the hands of Real Betis last weekend, and three points would take them level with arch rivals Barcelona, who are not in action until Sunday.
Real Madrid have been excellent at the Bernabeu so far this season, with three victories out of three and 10 goals scored. They will hope to build on the weekend win over Inter Milan in the Champions League, and they face an opponent in Rayo that have struggled to stop the goals from going in.
Rayo have conceded 10 goals in their opening four La Liga matches, with half of those coming in a 5-2 defeat to Barcelona. Los Franjirrojos are feeling the absence of starting goalkeeper Augusto Batalla, who is currently sidelined with a broken leg, which he sustained against Alaves last month. Dani Cardenas has failed to live up to the Argentine's standards, and if that continues to be the case at the Bernabeu, the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham will be licking their licks.
At the other end, Real Madrid must keep Sergio Camello quiet. The former Atletico Madrid striker has scored five goals in his last three matches, with two of those coming in the aforementioned defeat to Barcelona. However, Rayo will be without talented winger Jorge de Frutos, who was sent off against Racing de Santander last weekend.
It is no surprise that Real Madrid start as heavy favourites, and if they play to their best, they should dispatch Rayo will relatively ease. However, Mourinho will be making it very clear that they cannot take the Vallecas side for granted, as they are capable of causing problems in attack.

US natural gas production is projected to reach a record high of 111.7 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) in 2026, up from 107.6 bcfd in 2025, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). By 2027, domestic supply is expected to hit 115.9 bcfd.
But that's only half the story.
Over the next two years, US natural gas supply and demand will both rise to record levels, the EIA states in its Short-Term Energy Outlook.
Domestic gas consumption is projected to rise from a record 91.9 bcfd in 2025 to 111.7 bcfd in 2026 and 115.9 bcfd in 2027.
The agency said increased drilling efficiency, rising electricity demand, and expanding liquefied natural gas (LNG) export capacity continue to drive production despite selective capital spending by producers.

In Q2 2026, the portfolio delivered a strong net return of +30.1% compared to the Russell 2000 Index's +21.5% return and the HFRX Equity Hedge Index's +10.3% return. The long book drove performance, generating a 43.2% gross contribution, while average net exposure remained relatively modest at 47%. U.S. economic growth remained resilient despite inflation concerns, elevated energy prices, and geopolitical uncertainty. Markets rallied sharply after easing U.S.-Iran tensions pushed oil prices lower, supporting renewed risk appetite. Small-cap equities benefited significantly, with Information Technology, Industrials, and Health Care leading gains, while Energy declined as crude prices fell. Year to date, the Composite returned +23.7%, slightly ahead of the Russell 2000's +22.6% and well above the HFRI Equity Hedge Index's +9.7%. Additionally, you can review the Portfolio's top 5 holdings to see its best picks for 2026.

Elmet's critical materials division supplies inputs for the U.S. military supply chain that are essential to production and increasingly must be sourced domestically, steering business towards the company. We believe the building of domestic supply chains can benefit Elmet and drive better-than-forecast earnings growth as they grow organically and deploy their underutilized balance sheet to broaden their businesses."

NEW DELHI: Former India cricketer Ajinkya Rahane believes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's time will come, but feels India should currently stick with the top-three combination that delivered the 2026 T20 World Cup ******* le, backing Sanju Samson to reclaim his place alongside Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.

Samson, who was named Player of the Tournament during India's triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, was dropped after a string of low scores on the tour of England. Sooryavanshi was subsequently handed his international debut in Manchester and also opened during the T20Is against Zimbabwe.

With Samson now recalled for the three-match home series against Afghanistan, beginning at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, Rahane believes the experienced batter should return to the top order.

"I feel the top three should be the same that played in the World Cup. Samson has done well, but he got dropped after two or three bad innings. I want him to get another chance. Abhishek and Ishan also did well for us," Rahane said in a video on his YouTube channel on Friday.

"Vaibhav will get his opportunities, and his time will come. But for now, I feel the top three should be Samson, Abhishek, and Ishan, who were our contributors in the World Cup," he added.
Rahane welcomed Samson's return while pointing to the batter's impact during India's World Cup-winning campaign.

"I am happy to see Sanju Samson back in the team. He was the 'Man of the Series' in the World Cup. It has been up and down, and things were happening to him that were not in his control. But he is a match-winner, and his return strengthens the team," Rahane said.

For Sooryavanshi, Rahane's message was one of patience and freedom. The 15-year-old has made a rapid rise through domestic and franchise cricket, but the former India batter believes the teenager should not overthink his early international career.

"I think he should just play his game right now. He should back the game that led him to come into the Indian team. It is a very early stage for him in his career and in international cricket," Rahane said.

"As of now, there is no need for him to think a lot, and he should be set free. His game will eventually change after two or three years, as much as he keeps playing. It will be important for him to maintain balance. Apart from cricket skills, it is important to stay balanced off the field. That will be a challenge for him."
Sooryavanshi has already provided plenty of evidence of his ability. During the Duleep Trophy, he became the youngest player to score a half-century in the competition, reaching the landmark at 15 years and 175 days.

He made 92 off 81 ******* for East Zone, reaching his fifty from just 42 deliveries and breaking a 57-year-old record previously held by Laxman Singh, who was 16 years and 23 days old when he scored his Duleep Trophy fifty in 1969.

Alexander Zverev is enjoying a historic 2026 season, having won his maiden Grand Slam ****** le at Roland-Garros and recently reaching the US Open semifinals. The German top seed showed no signs of fatigue as he reached all four Grand Slam semifinals in a single season for the first time in his career.
Zverev will now face Russia's Karen Khachanov, who advanced to the semifinals after Alexander Blockx retired while trailing 6-2, 7-5, 3-2. As the two will battle for a place in the final, let's take a look at their biggest support system: their family, including their kids.
Zverev has kept his personal life, especially his kids, largely private. He welcomed his daughter, Mayla, in March 2021 with his former girlfriend, Brenda Patea. Following an out-of-court settlement in 2024 that ended their highly publicized legal dispute regarding domestic abuse, the two now share joint custody and focus on co-parenting.
Despite his fame, Zverev makes a conscious effort to keep Mayla away from the public eye. "I want her to be a normal child, growing up with a normal life," Zverev said of his approach. "I try to keep her out of social media, all the Instagrammie stuff."

The Green Bay Packers have become the NFC's Baltimore Ravens under head coach Matt LaFleur. They've found a way to stack winning regular seasons around an electric quarterback. Then, they crumble into powder in the postseason.
LaFleur is 76-40-1 in Weeks 1-18 and 3-6 in win-or-go-home playoff games. Jordan Love has advanced beyond the Wild Card round only once. His most recent postseason start saw a 21-3 halftime lead become a 31-27 Chicago Bears victory.
That leaves plenty to prove in 2026 and a roster loaded with holes. Wideouts Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks have departed. Josh Jacobs is on the exempt list as the league sorts out the domestic violence charges against him. Micah Parsons will miss at least the first four weeks of the season as he recovers from a torn ACL.
This year's Packers look like a diminished version of the one that stalked the NFC North in years past. What comes next?
Several new additions will have larger roles for the Packers, including linebacker Zaire Franklin and second round rookie cornerback Brandon Cisse. None may be able to provide more peace of mind than Smack if he can live up to his draft status.

BERLIN, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The likely leader of the eastern German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the far-right Alternative for Germany's Ulrich Siegmund, suggested a weapons producer could be allowed to ‌operate in the state to provide resources for his party's planned deportation campaigns.
The AfD, which ‌wants to restore ties with Russia and brands itself a "party of peace", opposes Germany's record defence spending under Chancellor Friedrich Merz and military support for Ukraine, raising questions about the future of a planned defence industry investment in the city of Sangerhausen.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Siegmund indicated the AfD was not opposed to arms production for domestic purposes when asked about the site.
"We do not condemn the production of military equipment ‌across the board, because we will naturally need the appropriate resources for future repatriation and deportation campaigns," he said.
"This is also in the interest of internal security, our own stability, and national defence," he added.

1525 ET – Oil futures settle at their highest level since May 22 as strikes between the U.S. and Iran escalate and Houthis step up attacks on Saudi oil facilities. The escalation is cause for concern as inventories are low and drawing down and it doesn’t look like the U.S. is making any progress with the conflict, says John Deal, managing director of capital markets at Post Oak Group. “I frankly think we’re in really risky territory right now,” he says, with significant risk of damage to infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. “I wouldn’t be surprised, if this conflict doesn’t wrap up soon, I think we could be looking at prices over $100 maybe as high as $120.” Brent settles up 3.4% at $101.21 a barrel, and WTI rises 3.2% to $96.05. But crude oil continues to find a way out of the Persian Gulf and the U.S. still prefers to pressure Tehran and its enablers through economic measures, he adds. “President Trump may also be incentivized to seek an off-ramp as the conflict increasingly clashes with his domestic agenda, with the midterms getting closer.” WTI is up 3.5% at $96.25 a barrel and Brent gains 3.2% to $101.08.(anthony.harrupwsj.com)

The former Manchester United and Chelsea ace has enjoyed a late-career resurgence and was voted the domestic A-League player of the year in 2025-26.
But the 38-year-old has decided not to play on at the club as he mulls "the next steps in his career".
He will remain involved with the Australian side after taking an ownership stake.
"I loved every minute and so greatly enjoyed everything that we achieved last season, falling back in love with football at such a special place, in an amazing city that it was a privilege to call home," Mata said.

"Selling Sunset" star Christine Quinn's husband, Christian Dumontet, has listed the sprawling Los Angeles home the former couple once shared as their contentious divorce battle continues.
Dumontet filed for divorce from the real estate agent—who is set to make her return to the Netflix reality series—in April 2024, after he was arrested following an alleged domestic violence incident. He was later detained for allegedly violating a temporary restraining order requiring him to stay away from the property.
The tech entrepreneur purchased the home for $5 million in 2019, the same year he and Quinn tied the knot in an extravagant Gothic-themed wedding.
However, their relationship ultimately unraveled, with the pair calling it quits in 2024.
Amid their ongoing divorce proceedings, Dumontet asked a judge to grant him exclusive control of the Los Angeles property so he could put it on the market. He argued that he purchased the residence before the couple married and had continued covering its mortgage, taxes, and insurance.

The diversified S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) and the technology-heavy Nasdaq-100 are two widely followed stock market indexes that are packed with America's highest-quality companies. They have returned 12.7% and 17% respectively so far in 2026, as of the market close last Friday, Sept. 4.
But then there is the Russell 2000 index, which is sitting on an even better year-to-date gain of 20.2%. It tracks the performance of approximately 2,000 of America's smallest listed companies, and since many of them generate most of their revenue domestically, they are more insulated from headwinds like the ongoing conflict in the Middle East compared to larger, multinational companies.

China's largest new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer BYD Auto reported an 18% rise in global sales to 440,293 units in August 2026, marking the fourth consecutive month of growth for the company following eight months of declines. Last month's growth followed a 22% surge in July, as overseas sales continued to strengthen - offsetting continued weak demand and fast-rising competition in its home market.
Domestic sales fell by 14% year-on-year to 250,827 units in August, while overseas sales surged by 134% to 189,466 vehicles, accounting for 43% of the company's global sales.
In the first eight months of 2026, BYD sold a total of 2,668,015 vehicles globally, down by almost 7% from last year's 2,863,876 units, with domestic sales plunging by 33% to 1,505,755 units from 2,233,148 units in the same period last year. Overseas sales surged by 86% to 1,162,260 units year-to-date, after growing by 130% to 630,728 units previously.
BYD is in the process of switching its products to its second-generation Blade Battery, which features flash charging capabilities. The transition has caused some production bottlenecks in recent months, according to local reports. The company is also expanding its presence in the premium BEV segment, with the launch of the Dynasty Da Tang D-segment flagship SUV in July.
BYD has set a target of further increasing its overseas sales to 2.5 million vehicles in 2027, up from an expected 2.0 million units in 2026, helped by an expanded shipping fleet and rising production abroad, with the company's plant in Hungary scheduled to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Baidu announced on September 4 that its Hong Kong Class A shares are now included in both the Shanghai-Hong Kong and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect programs, effective September 7.. The change gives eligible mainland investors direct access to the Hong Kong listing, potentially widening liquidity and the shareholder base. It does not alter the operating competition between Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) and Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE:BABA), which are pursuing AI through different mixes of models, cloud infrastructure, chips, and consumer distribution.
Baidu's bull case combines search traffic, its Ernie ecosystem, cloud services, and Kunlunxin chips. Stock Connect can make that story easier for mainland investors to own, while its dual-primary Hong Kong listing broadens access. The bear case is that improved trading access does not repair weak advertising, guarantee cloud share, or remove geopolitical and regulatory risk. The catalyst affects liquidity more directly than earnings.
Insider Monkey counted 49 hedge funds holding Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ:BIDU) at June 30, down from 50 at March 31. David Tepper's Appaloosa Management disclosed 1,295,000 shares, 87% more than in Q1. That increase shows one manager's conviction, not a broad rise in fund participation.
Alibaba's June-quarter AI Cloud and Compute Services revenue reached $7.1 billion, up 45% year over year, while segment adjusted EBITA rose 133% to $830 million. Its bull case is a full stack spanning Qwen models, cloud, proprietary chips, and commerce distribution. The bear case is capital intensity, fierce domestic competition, exposure to consumer spending, and the possibility that fast AI growth remains too small to transform the larger group's valuation.
Ninety-seven hedge funds held Alibaba Group Holding Limited (NYSE:BABA) in Q2, down from 102 in Q1. Ken Fisher's Fisher **** et Management disclosed 5,096,418 shares after trimming the position by 0.5%.

Cricket Australia (CA) has opened the door to private investment in the Big Bash League (BBL), with the Melbourne Renegades set to become the first franchise offered for sale from the 2027-28 season.

The decision comes after months of discussions between Cricket Australia and Australia's state cricket ***** ociations over the future of the domestic T20 competition.

At a press conference at the SCG on Tuesday afternoon, CA confirmed that the Renegades will be the first BBL franchise to enter the private ownership process. Other BBL and WBBL teams could also be offered for sale in the future under a "self-determination" model.

The governing body said the move is aimed at bringing private investment into the T20 competition and strengthening the financial position of Australian cricket as players and teams are increasingly being drawn towards lucrative leagues around the world.

"CA will invite bids from private owners for the Renegades with a view to them playing the 2027-28 season under new ownership," the governing body said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Beginning the sales process for the Renegades allows us to take the first step in a self-determination model for our members and represents a defining moment for the game," said Cricket Australia chair Mike Baird.

"This is a significant decision that has involved an enormous amount of ***** ysis, discussion and collaboration over many months."

CA said other franchises could be put on the market at a later stage.

"Pending the result of that process, CA will consider taking other clubs to market under a self-determination model that gives each state member the ability to ***** s the optimal pathway for its own club and community."

According to cricket.com.au, Hobart Hurricanes, Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars are among the other clubs believed to be interested in private investment.

The Renegades are owned by Cricket Victoria, which supported CA's original plan. They won the BBL ***** le in the 2018-19 season.

The move comes as CA looks to strengthen its finances. Despite a boost in revenue from hosting a five-Test series against India, the game's biggest financial market, CA reported a net deficit of A$11.3 million for the 2024-25 financial year.

"By opening the door to private investment in the Big Bash Leagues, Cricket Australia is taking a deliberate step to strengthen and secure the long-term future of the game," CA Chairman Mike Baird said in Tuesday's statement.

Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced in July that December's BBL 2026-27 season opener between the Renegades and Perth Scorchers would take place in the Chennai.

While CA is allowing private ownership, it will continue to control key areas of the competition. Baird said the governing body will retain control over international scheduling, player availability, salary caps and media rights.

CA will also have the power to approve or veto investors and set a reserve price for

Sept 8 (Reuters) - Russia's defence ministry wants to claim back part of a one-off payout from contract service personnel ‌found guilty of criminal offences at home, a document ‌showed, amid increasing cases of domestic violence among those fighting Russia's war on Ukraine.
Russia provides a minimum one-off payment of 400,000 roubles ($4,640) for soldiers signing at least a one-year contract to fight in the war with Ukraine that Moscow calls "a special military operation". Russia invaded Ukraine in February ‌2022.
In practice, one-off payouts may reach a few million roubles per soldier, depending on the region, in addition to a monthly salary. Russia is also reducing sentences for those serving time in prison in exchange for signing up for the war, among other benefits, as it seeks to bolster army numbers.
Russia has seen a rise in domestic violence ‌as fighters return home for leave, and the defence ministry wants to claim part of the one-off payments "in order to increase the motivation of military personnel to comply with the law", in case of a criminal offence, a draft law published on Monday showed.
If ‌active contract service members are found guilty of a criminal offence which does not imply a prison sentence, they should pay back a portion of the one-off ‌payout based on the months of the service left, the document showed.

Karnataka batter Karun Nair has taken a subtle but pointed swipe at South Zone after being overlooked for the playing XI in the ongoing Duleep Trophy final against East Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Nair, who was part of the South Zone squad, was left out of the XI for both the semi-final and the final. After a post on X (formerly Twitter) described his omission as 'inexplicable', Nair reposted it with his own response.

'Inexplicable would be an understatement,' he wrote, accompanied by a laughing emoji.
The decision has gained further attention after South Zone endured a difficult first two days of the final, with East Zone piling up 708 runs before being bowled out.

Nair did not remain with the South Zone squad after learning that he would not feature in the final. Instead, he returned home to join the Karnataka State Cricket ******* ociation's pre-season red-ball camp.

The batter then made an immediate impact, scoring a century for KSCA Secretary XI against Chhattisgarh.

South Zone have not provided an explanation for Nair's omission from the playing XI for the final. His absence had already raised eyebrows before the previous match against North Zone, when captain Tilak Varma explained that Nair's exclusion was a tactical call.

At the time, Varma said Nair was 'just unlucky' after opting for Hyderabad's left-handed batter Kodimela Himateja in the middle order.

"Karun is just unlucky. He has scored a lot of runs in domestic seasons," Tilak had said while addressing the media at the CoE.

"I have chosen Himateja in place of Karun as they have good left-arm spinners. So we wanted a leftie in the middle order. He has also scored a decent amount of runs in domestic cricket. I was just backing him. As a youngster, he also has a good career. At the same time, it is very unfortunate for Karun."

However, Himateja's opportunity did not work out. He was dismissed for a two-ball duck and subsequently dropped for the final.

South Zone replaced him with another left-hander, Devdutt Padikkal, rather than bringing Nair back into the XI.
The omission of Nair has become an even bigger talking point after South Zone's bowling attack struggled to contain East Zone in the final.

East Zone resumed the second innings on 385/4 and continued to dominate from the outset. South Zone took the new ball after one over, hoping Mohammad Siraj and MD Nidheesh could make early inroads, but neither managed to break the partnership between Ishan Kishan and ******* ar Kushagra.

Kishan immediately attacked Siraj and Nidheesh, while Kushagra provided strong support from the other end. South Zone subsequently turned to Tripurana Vijay and Shreyas Gopal, but the change in bowling did little to halt the scoring.

Kushagra eventually completed his sixth first-class century, making 101 from 132 ******* with eight fours and five sixes before falling to Vijay shortly before lunch.

Kishan then took complete control of the innings.

CNBC reported that American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) announced seven new international routes for its summer 2027 schedule, most flown on its Airbus A321XLR.
New destinations include Philadelphia to Porto and Vienna and JFK to Amsterdam and Nice, alongside a returning Reykjavik route and Charlotte-Barcelona and Chicago-Tokyo Narita service on widebody jets. American's SVP of network and schedule planning, Brian Znotins, said the XLR "really opens up the menu for all these destinations that are just too small for a widebody." The announcement came the same week that rival United Airlines, which flies more international routes than any other U.S. carrier, unveiled its own 2027 international additions. American has said its flying is split roughly 80% domestic and 20% international.
The XLR gives American Airlines Group Inc. (NASDAQ:AAL) a more flexible way to expand its international network. The smaller, long-range aircraft lets American serve thinner transatlantic markets without committing the capacity of a larger widebody jet. That flexibility opens opportunities such as Philadelphia-Vienna and Philadelphia-Porto and gives American another way to grow international revenue.
The XLR's premium-heavy configuration also gives American more room to target higher-value travelers. American designed the aircraft's new interior with more premium seating than its other aircraft, allowing the airline to offer a stronger premium product on long-haul routes. If American can fill those seats at attractive fares, the aircraft could improve the economics of its international expansion.
American also gains a competitive advantage on Philadelphia-Vienna. The airline said it will become the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service between the two cities. That position gives American a differentiated product on the route and could help it capture travelers who value nonstop service.

CHENNAI: Ishan Kishan has developed a habit of saving his best for the big occasion. Last year, he led Jharkhand to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy ***** le and produced a match-winning century in the final, a performance that helped him earn his way back into India's T20I setup. After playing a matchwinning hand against Pakistan in Colombo in the T20 World Cup earlier in the year, Kishan delivered again in the Duleep final on Monday, leading East Zone against South at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Kishan smashed 270 off 334 ***** (30x4, 7x6), taking East to a mammoth 708 all out, ***** ar Kushagra chipping in with 101 as well. The double century, his second in first-class cricket, came after a gap of 10 years and has further strengthened his case for a return to India's red-ball setup.

A triple century seemed on the cards after he crossed 250, but Kishan said that personal landmarks never occupied his mind. Interestingly, he himself was unaware that it had been 10 years since he scored a first-class double century. "Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about 50, forget 300. I was only thinking about 50-run partnerships," Kishan said.

The double century came off 273 ***** . He then accelerated dramatically, reaching 250 in only 27 more ***** . But the intent, he said, was never to chase numbers. "I didn't change anything in my game plan. I was just batting normally. Once I got set, my thought was not to throw my wicket away. I have enough confidence in my shots to know that if I play well, I will either clear the field or find the gap," he said.

For Kishan, the most satisfying aspect of the innings was the temperament he showed. With East having won the toss and opted to bat, the priority was to build a total that would put South under pressure. "I would rate this innings very highly because I kept the team's goal ahead of my own runs. There were moments when I could have played more attacking shots, but the priority was to spend time in the middle, make good decisions and build a big total," he said.

That approach was shaped by a mindset Kishan believes has changed considerably during his time away from the Indian team. Having spent to two years grinding it out in domestic cricket, he said the experience taught him to simplify his game. "When you're playing for India regularly, sometimes you get into a flow and your growth can stagnate. Going back to domestic cricket makes you start from zero. You realise there are so many players scoring runs and that you have to perform better to get back," he said.
