Memphis football is officially in game week.
The Tigers will face UNLV in Las Vegas on Aug. 29 (9 p.m., FOX). And it's a game that could have College Football Playoff implications.
"There's so many different storylines," UNLV coach Dan Mullen said at his press conference on Aug. 24.
For one, the Tigers and Rebels will play on national television as one of the marquee games during the opening weekend of the season. Both teams are expected to compete near the top of their respective conferences, so it could be a game that gets talked about later in the season when potential playoff resumes are being compared.
"You won't feel it maybe after this game, but there's going to be a lot of discussion about this game as the season goes on," Mullen said. "Especially late into November. It can have a lot of implications on who's where for the playoff race."

Guinness Global Innovators, an investment management company, recently released its Q2 2026 quarterly investor update for its "Guinness Global Innovators Fund". You can download the letter here. The Guinness Global Innovators Fund focuses on investing in global companies that benefit from innovation in technology, communication, globalization, and management strategies. In the second quarter of 2026, the Guinness Global Innovators Fund returned 13.8% in GBP, compared with 13.0% for the MSCI World Index and 13.1% for the IA Global sector average. Easing Middle East tensions, falling oil prices, and renewed enthusiasm for artificial intelligence helped reverse much of the caution seen earlier in the year, with investors rotating back toward growth stocks and AI infrastructure beneficiaries. The Fund benefited from its overweight position in the Information Technology sector, while its overweight position in Communication Services detracted. Avoiding weaker Utilities, Materials, and Energy also supported relative performance. Also, please check the Fund's top five holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Guinness Global Innovators Fund highlighted Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU). Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) provides financial management, payments and capital, compliance, and marketing products and services. On August 21, 2026, Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) closed at $367.00 per share. The one-month return of Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) was 20.76%, and its shares lost -44.14% over the past 52 weeks. Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) has a market capitalization of $100.4 billion with a 52-week trading range between $252.84 - $705.08.
Guinness Global Innovators Fund stated the following regarding Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"We initially bought Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) for its market-leading position in mission-critical tax and accounting software, a deeply embedded QuickBooks platform with significant switching costs, and a strong consumer brand in TurboTax. QuickBooks' c.80% market share, high customer retention and accountant-led distribution created a durable competitive advantage, while Intuit's expanding ecosystem across payments, payroll, lending, Mailchimp, and tax services provided a clear runway for long-term growth and further monetisation. Toward the end of 2025 and in early 2026, markets became increasingly concerned with the 'Saaspocalypse', the implications of AI disruption of the software sector, causing sentiment on the stock to sour. While Intuit continued to deliver resilient results overall, its most recent earnings print changed the thesis for us. Revenue and earnings were modestly ahead of consensus, but the quarter was overshadowed by disappointing TurboTax performance, where revenue growth of 7% fell short of expectations (c.8%) and paid DIY returns declined sharply, particularly among price-sensitive, lower-income filers. This reignited concerns that Intuit's pricing power

MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: Cody Bellinger is slated to return from the IL today. The outfielder had a short rehab stint at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre as he recovered from a Grade 2 left hamstring strain that's kept him off the field since late July. "I've been wanting to get back for a while," Bellinger said. "You always want to be realistic, and for me, I want to come back and stay. You don't want to make anything worse. I'm itching to get back, but I've got to continue to play it safe and make sure I'm 100 percent ready." In his second year with New York, Bellinger was an All-Star this season and figures to fortify an outfield that's also been without Aaron Judge in right.
New York Post | Andrew Crane: Giancarlo Stanton strained his left calf earlier this week, calling into question whether he'll be able to return this season, Aaron Boone revealed Saturday. The DH was working back from multiple strains to his right calf when he fell while running the bases, leading to a moderate strain in his left. "We're at a point in the calendar where it gets challenging," said Boone, acknowledging the reality that Stanton's return this season is in jeopardy. Big G has appeared in only 24 games this season, adding to the struggles to stay on the field that have plagued his Yankees tenure.
(As a related aside, you should read Josh's editorial, "Giancarlo Stanton and outrunning the sunset." It's quite good.)
MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: In other injury news, Ryan Weathers exited his start Saturday in the fourth inning with left forearm discomfort. He's scheduled for imaging on Sunday. In his first season in the Bronx, the left-hander had been a strong contributor to the rotation, including during a recent stretch in which he posted a 1.94 ERA in his last seven starts. For more on Weathers' departure and some musings on short- and long-term implications, check out Andrew's breaking news post.
The Athletic | Brendan Kuty: ($) There was a world where Bellinger's return could have cost Spencer Jones his roster spot. The rookie outfielder has been playing well of late, though, going 12-for-41 with two homers and four stolen bases in his last 12 games."(He's) certainly proved that he can play up here," said Boone. "I think there's a lot more in the tank for him to continue to go and learn, but he's showing the ability to do that, and that's been really encouraging."

Being a college football fanatic is a tough business. Watch parties, road trips, tailgating or just taking up the couch for an entire Saturday are just some of the options. From a happily married (about to be tested) man's perspective, I must navigate the better half's plans that don't include me watching television for 14 hours straight. To me it's non-negotiable.
In reality it's a non-negotiable negotiation. I often lose but I fight the good fight.
There's a major game with playoff implications every week. Conference games are must see. Being laser focused on a 2nd-and-11 from your own 23 while avoiding the side eye is an art. Master your craft fellas. To help I've identified five (for now) can't miss games that will directly impact the season. Blackout dates for doing anything else, if you will. Futures odds from various sources.
Beware the side eye.

Shares of Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) traded sharply lower Tuesday morning, falling as much as 4.1%. As of 1:10 p.m. ET, the stock was still down 3.3%.
The catalyst that sent the social media ***** an lower was the start of the company's latest child safety trial.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
A court case with significant implications kicked off today in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. The attorneys general from California, Colorado, New Jersey, and Kentucky brought suit alleging that Meta designed its social media platforms to be addictive, contributing to a rising mental health crisis among younger users. The case also alleges that Meta collects data from children under 13 without first obtaining parental consent. In all, 29 states have filed suit against the social media platform. The remaining 25 states will go to trial later.
The verdict in this case could conceivably change the way social media companies do business. The states are said to be seeking damages of $200 billion or more, though Meta suggests the states are looking for damages totaling $1.4 trillion -- the size of the company's market cap. Experts say a judgment of that magnitude is extremely unlikely.

Climate and energy solutions stock Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE:CARR) has taken a breather since its June 25 nearly 52-week high of $76.76, last seen flat at $62.73 today. The underlying $62.50 level has been a key level of support and resistance, however, while the shares are also nearing a trendline with historically bullish implications.
According to Schaeffer's Senior Quantitative **** yst Rocky White, CARR is trading within 0.75 times the 200-day moving averages' 20-day average true range (ATR), after spending at least 80% of the previous two weeks and 80% of the prior 42 trading sessions above that trendline. This setup has appeared six other times over the last decade, after which the stock was higher one month later 100% of the time, averaging an 8.1% gain.
An unwinding of pessimism amongst options traders could provide tailwinds as well. At the International Securities Exchange (ISE), Cboe Options Exchange (CBOE), and NASDAQ OMX PHLX (PHLX), Carrier Global stock's 10-day put/call volume ratio of 1.18 sits higher than 85% of readings from the past year.

On my podcast yesterday morning, I discussed the implications of Alec Pierce's injury and the strong possibility that the Colts would acquire an instant-impact receiver like Keenan Allen. Later that day, Allen signed with Indy. Now let's walk through the significant fantasy implications.
Allen is not your typical 34-year-old journeyman receiver. He led all Chargers last year in total fantasy points. No longer the same downfield threat he once was, Allen is nevertheless a solid possession receiver who could push for 100+ targets.
This is terrible news for managers who believed Pierce (WR38 ADP) and/or Downs (WR42 ADP) were huge bargains. I was one of those managers, pegging Downs as a must-draft at his ADP -- an almost surefire top-38 wideout with strong top-30 upside. With Michael Pittman Jr. now in Pittsburgh, this thinned-out receiving corps would open the door for Pierce and Downs to build on the former's 2025 breakout and the latter's 2024 breakout.
There are major questions about whether Daniel Jones can feed more than two receivers per game, especially after Jonathan Taylor caught a career-high 46 passes in 2025. Jones was on pace for about 500 pass attempts last season. Between Pierce, Downs, Allen, and ascending tight end Tyler Warren, we might anticipate 400 targets at most.
As a rookie, Warren led this team with 112 looks, and he could easily hit 125+ this year. Allen should be good for 80+. It will be hard for Pierce or Downs to comfortably exceed ADP expectations.

Bank of America on Tuesday hiked its price targets on cybersecurity stocks on views that a worsening artificial intelligence-based threat landscape supports higher valuations. Cybersecurity stocks have rebounded from worries that AI model builders will emerge as competitors.
Bank of America raised its price targets for SentinelOne (S), SailPoint (SAIL) and Zscaler (ZS). Other cybersecurity stocks may be extended amid a big rally in 2026, BofA said.
"Over the past several months, cybersecurity stocks have benefited from improving software sector sentiment and increasing investor focus on the security implications of AI," said BofA ****** yst Tal Liani in a report.
"While the market initially viewed AI as a potentially disruptive force that could compress the value of incumbent security platforms, recent developments have shifted the conversation toward the expanding threat landscape created by AI," he added. "We believe investors are increasingly viewing cybersecurity as a critical enabler of enterprise AI adoption, supporting both durable demand and a more constructive valuation framework across the sector."
AI is changing the cybersecurity industry as companies race to build cloud computing-based platforms. Cybersecurity firms are rapidly embedding AI into nearly every stage of threat detection, investigation and response. But hackers are using AI tools as well. Recent incidents have reinforced concerns that increasingly capable AI models could be used for cyberattacks in the wrong hands.

DETROIT — LIV Golf finally has confirmed what's been quite clear for a while: The Michigan tournament is not happening. LIV Golf announced Monday afternoon it will crown its 2026 individual and team champions this week at its event in Indianapolis.
Michigan was supposed to host the season-ending team championship for a second consecutive year, from Aug. 27-30, but there have been countless signs for the past several weeks that Michigan's tournament was doomed, amid the league's ongoing funding crisis. There was no immediate word on financial implications for Saint John's Resort in Plymouth Township, where the tournament was to be hosted at The Cardinal. The resort is believed to have paid a seven-figure fee to LIV to host.
LIV Golf said fans who purchased tickets to the Michigan event will receive refunds, but didn't give any specific details on how or when refunds would be issued. The News has reached out to LIV Golf for clarity. LIV Golf still was selling tickets to the Michigan tournament until late last week, despite obvious signs the event wasn't happening.
"We are disappointed that the LIV Golf team championship will no longer be held in August," Kevin Doyle, COO of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, said in a statement to The Detroit News. "We were excited to welcome the event back after last year's tremendous reception from fans and the praise Saint John's Resort and The Cardinal received from LIV players. We wish LIV the best in the future. And we remain committed to making Saint John's Resort a place where the Michigan community comes to expect memorable, one-of-a-kind golf and resort experiences."
A LIV Golf representative told The Detroit News: "Details on refunds are being communicated directly to affected ticket holders."

The Los Angeles Dodgers are starting their road trip off on a strong note at Coors Field against the Colorado Rockies, and it was none other than Max Muncy who broke open the floodgates at the plate on Monday, Aug. 17.
In the top of the third inning, Muncy took full advantage of a sinker right down the middle of the plate from Rockies starter Tomoyuki Sugano and turned on it, sending the ball sailing into the second deck for a three-run home run to open up a five-run lead for LA. Coming in at a Statcast-projected 461 feet, it was the longest home run hit by a Dodger in 2026. The team's previous longest homer this season also belongs to Muncy at Coors Field when he hit one 452 feet on April 17.
Shohei Ohtani matched that with a 452-footer of his own in the top of the sixth on Monday.
Muncy continues to swing the bat well even as the Dodgers have collectively struggled at the plate since the trade deadline, hitting 10-for-44 with three home runs and 11 RBI with a .477 slugging percentage in the month of August while LA has dropped 11 of their last 16 games, including three of a pivotal four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers that could have postseason implications.
"We haven't been good," Muncy told reporters after Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Brewers. "It's one of those stretches. We need urgency. We need to fix some things. … Today really sucked. It was a big game. We kind of needed to win this one, and we didn't. But it's just how it goes."

Baker Mayfield may not always receive the same level of recognition as the NFL's elite quarterbacks, but ESPN's latest quarterback trait rankings provide another reminder of just how talented the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' starter has become. In Dan Orlovsky's 2026 rankings, Mayfield landed inside the top 10 in multiple categories, including sixth in arm strength, eighth in rushing ability and 10th in second reaction ability.
The arm strength ranking is particularly notable. Mayfield ranked sixth in the league, ahead of quarterbacks such as Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott. That ranking speaks to an element of Mayfield's game that can sometimes get overlooked because of his reputation as a fiery, competitive quarterback. His ability to make plays outside of structure also received recognition. Mayfield ranked 10th in second reaction ability, showing that his value isn't limited to what he can do from a clean pocket.
When plays break down, he has become increasingly comfortable extending plays and finding opportunities downfield. Mayfield was also eighth among quarterbacks in rushing ability, another area that has become a useful part of his game in Tampa Bay.
With Tampa Bay replacing several key pieces from last season and relying on younger players in important roles, Mayfield's ability to create plays when things don't go according to plan could be one of the team's biggest advantages. He also enters the season with plenty to prove. Mayfield is heading into an important year in Tampa Bay, and his performance could have significant implications for the Buccaneers' future at the position and for his next contract, as he is playing on the final year of his 3-year $100 million deal.
Now Mayfield will have the opportunity to turn those traits into another productive season and show that his overall standing among NFL quarterbacks deserves to be even higher, as well as his next check.

Dodgers update on Shohei Ohtani pitching again has major MVP implications originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Los Angeles Dodgers traded for Tarik Skubal at the MLB trade deadline to bolster their already stacked rotation. But since Shohei Ohtani wasn't back to pitching, it was actually a need they had to address.
Since Ohtani's been away from the mound, Pete Crow-Armstrong for the Chicago Cubs has made a valiant effort to try to steal the NL MVP award away from Ohtani. If Ohtani doesn't return to pitching, there's a real chance he's not going to be the MVP this year.
However, the latest update, which USA Today's Bob Nightengale revealed, is some good news. With a projected return to the mound for Ohtani set for September, the MVP race might swing back Ohtani's way after PCA made up significant ground.
"The Dodgers anticipate that Shohei Ohtani will be pitching again in September, barring any setbacks, which should also clinch his fifth MVP award as he returns to being a two-way player," Nightengale writes.

It was a pretty typical preseason opener. We didn't see many starters; some rookies stood out, and other veterans are still trying to find their places on the roster. The score didn't matter much, but it was still quite rewarding to see the 2026 Kansas City Chiefs take the field for the first time against another NFL team.
Early returns on the rookie class were largely positive, but there were some depth concerns exposed on both sides of the ball. We won't remember much about this game, but some of these guys certainly left impressions that could have significant implications on the initial roster.
Here are a few who stood out as the Los Angeles Rams beat the Chiefs 20-12 on Saturday afternoon.
Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier: When the team drafts a quarterback late in the seventh round, there are no real expectations for success. But through one performance, they might be ratcheting up for Nussmeier. Working under pressure much of the time, the LSU kid looked poised and creative. He used his quick release and surprising throw-on-the-run ability to make plays against the Rams.
Wide receiver Cyrus Allen: It wasn't the most efficient debut for rookie Cyrus Allen, as he hauled in just two of his five targets. But the hype train gained some significant steam when he climbed the ladder to convert on 3rd and 8. It's the type of play we've been wanting to see from Chiefs receivers for a long time — aggressive, strong hands, attacking the football.

ATLANTA ― The race to the WNBA playoffs is on, and every game from here on out could have major implications for teams in the top eight.
That list currently includes the Indiana Fever (22-12) and Atlanta Dream (21-12), who will face one another in a Sunday matchup at State Farm Arena (5 p.m. ET, ESPN). The Fever and Dream currently occupy the fourth and fifth spots, respectively, in the league's standings and hope to clinch a playoff spot in the coming weeks. Sunday's game could play a factor in where each team ultimately lands.
The Dream currently own the tiebreaker and season series over Indiana (2-1), but the Fever look to change that. Indiana is on a three-game winning streak after picking up a 98-87 win over the Dallas Wings on Friday. Indiana had four players in double digits against Dallas, including Caitlin Clark, who finished with 29 points and 10 **** ists. Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, extending her current streak of scoring 20 points or more to a league-record 18 games.
Atlanta hopes to extend its own win streak to three games and take the season series against Indiana following an Aug. 13 blowout road win over the Connecticut Sun. Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray led the way with 29 points each in the Dream's 104-69 win against the Sun. Angel Reese owned the boards with 15 rebounds, setting a single-season franchise record for most rebounds (375). Reese accomplished the feat in 32 games.

The wait is finally over for Cleveland Browns fans, as the organization is set to make its 2026 preseason debut against the Chicago Bears on Saturday afternoon.
This offseason has been filled with drama between the ongoing quarterback battle and a franchise-altering trade. Still, there are plenty of storylines that fans should keep an eye on heading into Saturday's contest. The first preseason game of the year could have major implications on the Browns' starting lineup for the 2026-27 regular season.
Here are three bold predictions for the Browns' preseason matchup against the Bears.
The quarterback battle between veteran Deshaun Watson and 2025 fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders has made headlines this offseason, and Watson will get the first crack against the Bears on Saturday.
While it may benefit Sanders to start the second preseason game to see how his competition performs, it also opens the door for Watson to gain more ground on Sanders. Chicago will hold off on playing its key starters in the first preseason contest, which should help the 30-year-old ease into his first game since his season-ending Achilles injury back in 2024.

Larne's defeat by Iberia 1999 in Europa League qualifying was not just bad news for the Irish Premiership champions, but for the league as a whole.
While the club's European hopes are still alive with the Uefa Conference League, the loss in Georgia has wider implications.
It meant that, as an ***** ociation member, Northern Ireland dropped to 51st in Uefa's coefficient, out of a possible 55.
As things stand, the Irish Premiership would lose one of its four European places for the 2028-29 season.
But what is the Uefa coefficient, and how have Irish League clubs struggled? BBC Sport NI takes a look

Dive into what this means for fleets and owner-operators, and why the industry might not be 'overcorrecting' as feared. We also break down the volatile oil market, current diesel prices, and the complex Penske lawsuit that's shaking up broker liability. Get the crucial updates supply chain pros need to know.
The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has reinstated liability claims against two Penske entities in connection with a fatal 2018 jackknife crash in Texas, dealing a significant blow to carriers and brokers who ***** umed that tendering a load down the chain extinguished their legal exposure. The six-page ruling has broad implications for how carriers and brokers structure freight transactions and vet downstream partners.
The load — originating from an automotive seat manufacturer — traveled through at least four parties before the fatal accident. Penske Logistics, the ***** et-based carrier, first received the tender. It passed the load to Penske Transportation Management (PTM), its managed transportation and brokerage arm, which then handed it to Liberty Lane, which in turn brokered it to OK Trans, the carrier whose driver was involved in the crash that killed a motorist.
The Fifth Circuit took two distinct actions. It reinstated PTM as a defendant, citing the U.S. Supreme Court's Charas v. Trans Air precedent commonly referred to in freight as the Montgomery decision, which eliminated the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act's safety-exception shield for brokers. The court also reversed a Southern District of Texas summary judgment that had protected Penske Logistics from vicarious liability as the employer of the downstream driver.

Alphabet (GOOG, GOOGL) shares made headlines recently after the company's AI division saw a series of high-profile departures.
Gene Munster, managing partner at Deepwater ****** et Management, recently said on CNBC that the brain drain at Google should not be ignored, arguing that the departures of key AI researchers could have implications beyond the headlines. Munster said Google has seen about six major departures over the past three months and that the loss of talent could affect the company's culture of innovation and its ability to develop future AI models. He also pointed to signs that Gemini has started to slip in AI model rankings relative to competitors. He thinks these developments are not a positive trend.
At the same time, Munster highlighted significant improvements from Grok, saying he expects the AI model to potentially break into the top three models as new versions are released. Grok was developed by xAI and is integrated into X, while xAI is now part of ****** eX following ****** eX's acquisition of the AI company.
The market is figuring out ****** eX isn't just a ****** e company. The ****** e business contributed just 12% of Q2 revenue and ****** ysts think the contribution of ****** e may keep shrinking as other streams kick in. Connectivity (Starlink) brought in $4.29 billion, up 66% year over year, with 12 million subscribers, double last year's count. AI brought in $2.56 billion, up 247% year over year, boosted by a big Anthropic deal.
Musk guided to a $100 billion annualized revenue run rate by December, up from a Q2 run rate near $31 billion. If ****** eX hits it, the stock trades at 14x that figure and looks reasonable. Bulls also point to Musk's math on AI: if ****** eX can push AI compute capacity from 1.4 GW today to 15 GW by end of 2027 at $50 million per megawatt, that's $750 billion in annual AI revenue potential.

Sands Capital, an investment management company, released its "Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund" Q2 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. In the quarter, global equities rebounded sharply, with the MSCI ACWI posting its strongest quarterly gain since 2020, supported by broad market strength, easing geopolitical tensions, and continued enthusiasm for AI infrastructure. Information technology led the advance, with semiconductor and hardware companies accounting for most of the index's rise. The fund returned 26.9% (net) in the second quarter of 2026. The portfolio benefited from strong gains across memory, software infrastructure, cybersecurity, and other AI-related holdings, although its concentrated exposure to mega-cap chip designers and manufacturers weighed on relative performance as leadership broadened into CPUs, networking, and memory. Vertical software, internet, and financial holdings were modest detractors amid macro concerns and uncertainty over AI disruption. The fund remains focused on critical AI bottlenecks, including compute, memory, manufacturing, networking, and power, while retaining selected businesses that may use AI to strengthen their competitive positions. You can check the fund's top five holdings to learn more about its leading investment ideas for the year.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund highlighted Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG). Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) operates an observability and security platform for cloud applications in the United States and internationally. On August 7, 2026, Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) closed at $233.93 per share. One-month return of Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) was -4.29% and its shares gained 93.33% over the past 52 weeks. Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) has a market capitalization of $89.44 billion.
Sands Capital Technology Innovators Fund stated the following regarding Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"Datadog, Inc. (NASDAQ:DDOG) is a cloud-native observability and security software company that helps organizations monitor infrastructure, applications, logs, and cybersecurity across increasingly complex technology environments. Our latest engagement with the company focused on its proposal to reincorporate from Delaware to Nevada and the potential implications for shareholder rights, board oversight, and long-term governance. At first glance, Vistra Corp (VST) doesn't seem like a particularly great investment. It's not just for the matter that VST stock has incurred an 88% Strong Sell rating by the Barchart Technical Opinion indicator, though that is an obvious distraction. Primarily, the ticker's 60-month beta translates to an incredibly choppy trajectory that puts confidence in short supply.
However, as an options trade, we may be able to leverage the wild dynamics of VST stock to our benefit. In essence, Vistra represents a fundamentally relevant enterprise, thanks to the company's integrated retail electricity and power generation. Naturally, artificial intelligence has very strong implications for VST's broader trend.

The Philadelphia Phillies are preparing for one of Major League Baseball's most unusual regular-season games, and a new wrinkle could very well change the outcome of Thursday night's matchup against the Minnesota Twins.
The Phillies will meet the Twins at the Field of Dreams site in Dyersville, Iowa, in a game that combines postseason implications with some pageantry and extra travel to one of baseball's most recognizable settings.
Major League Baseball has hosted the event before, but this year's game will also be played under a different set of rules, as the automated ball-strike (ABS) challenge system that the Phillies have been using this season won't be in place.

Former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane faced a challenging setback in his journey back to the gold, as he dropped a closely contested split decision to three-division Lumpinee Stadium World Champion Suakim PongSuphan PK this past Friday, August 7.
The highly anticipated ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World **** le eliminator unfolded in the main event of The Inner Circle 25, which emanated live from Bangkok's historic Lumpinee Stadium and streamed in Asia primetime exclusively via live.onefc.com.
That high-stakes showdown carried massive implications for the bantamweight Muay Thai division, with the victor securing a direct path to the reigning king, Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.
The 6-foot-4 phenom displayed his otherworldly Muay Thai skills throughout the bout, fighting valiantly until the final bell sounded. However, a crucial knockdown in the second round resulting from a brilliantly timed left hook and knee by Suakim placed Anane behind on the judges' scorecards.
Despite an impressive late surge to close the distance in the third and final stanza, that pivotal sequence ultimately tipped the scales in favor of the 30-year-old Thai veteran, who also walked away with a US$50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

The Astros and Padres close out their three-game series in San Diego, with each team fighting to improve its position in a crowded playoff race. Saturday's 3-2 victory moved the Padres within one game of the final National League wild-card spot, while Houston's lead in the AL West shrank to just half a game. With the series tied at one game apiece, neither team can afford to let tonight's rubber match slip away.
Later, the Valkyries will attempt to extend their three-game winning streak against the Sparks in Los Angeles. Golden State has climbed to second in the WNBA standings after winning eight of its last 10, while LA enters with some momentum of its own following an impressive victory over the Lynx.
