Mark Ruffalo has refuted charges that he is antisemitic. According to the actor, the accusation is baseless and criticizing the Israeli prime minister is not equivalent to being antisemitic.
"The accusation that I am antisemitic is appalling and fundamentally dishonest. Criticizing the actions of the Israeli prime minister, a military technology contract, or the executives who supply it is not the same as criticizing Jewish people. This critical and necessary dialogue is then dishonestly framed as being anti-Israel. To be clear, my views come from my own political convictions and should never be interpreted as hostility toward Jewish people, for whom I have deep love and respect. Everything I know about acting, activism, and humanism has been profoundly shaped by the Jewish friends, colleagues, and loved ones who have been integral and family throughout every point of my life," Ruffalo tweeted.
Ruffalo is known as a controversial figure in Hollywood who is ready to speak out, regardless of possible criticism. For example, he faced backlash from people who criticized him for opposing the proposed media merger and criticizing its executives.
"This merger has real consequences for real people, and for the entire country," Ruffalo wrote. "Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle's business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public."
These statements coincide with concerns voiced by media watchdogs and freedom-of-the-press activists, as well as problems ****** ociated with one family acquiring numerous media properties and a lack of transparency in financing such deals.

Miranda Kerr has addressed the backlash she faced over her disciplined diet and wellness routine. The supermodel took to Instagram on August 21 to open up about her daily lifestyle that had been labelled as "unhinged habits".
"Some of my 'unhinged' habits are actually just the routines that make me feel my best. For me, that looks like avoiding foods that cause inflammation in my body, prioritizing sleep, and being really intentional about the little choices I make every day. I start each morning with noni juice (even though I'll be the first to admit it doesn't taste very good), I cut out alcohol and I'm usually in bed before 9pm," she penned in the caption. "Wellness looks different for everyone, so be sure to listen to your body and stay consistent with what makes you feel good."
Miranda shared a post that broke down the non-negotiable wellness practices she follows to ensure she feels her best. "Eating a gluten-free, egg-free and dairy-free diet to reduce inflammation," read the first slide in the carousel. Other practices included being in bed by 9pm and up at 5am, starting everyday with a shot of noni juice, never falling asleep in makeup, eating dinner with her kids at 5pm, avoiding alcohol, and using certified organic skincare from her brand KORA Organics.
Miranda Kerr is a former Victoria's Secret model (@ WireImage)
The criticism came after Miranda appeared on Kristin Cavallari's Let's be Honest podcast, where she explained that she changed her diet when she was diagnosed with proctitis, a form of irritable bowel syndrome, during her pregnancy with her second son six years ago.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump announced Friday that his administration will allow more beef to be temporarily imported into the U.S. without triggering higher tariffs, as he remains under pressure to cut costs and address affordability issues ahead of November's midterms.
Beef prices have climbed to record highs amid a sharp drop in the number of U.S. cattle, consistent consumer demand and limits on cattle from Mexico, where the animals are facing a flesh-eating pest. The U.S. president has also imposed 50% tariffs on Brazil, a major beef exporter.
The president's plan, however, drew immediate skepticism from agricultural experts and backlash from cattle ranchers and conservative rural-state Republicans. Ranchers, normally some of the president's biggest supporters, are enjoying some rare profitable years and worry cheap beef imports will reduce cattle prices — and with it, the incentive to increase herd sizes.
"We all want lower grocery prices, but as I've said for months, we cannot do it at the expense of American producers," Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., said in a statement. "Flooding the market with foreign beef hurts our livestock industry and undermines the long-term solution: growing the U.S. cattle herd to meet demand."
Sen. Tim Sheehy, R-Mont., said in a social media post just hours after Trump's announcement that the president's "heart is in the right place," but importing beef will "harm our ranching families who feed the nation."

Following Hayden Panettiere's shocking death, fans are resurfacing some of the career revelations she shared in her final months, including her allegation that Neutrogena attempted to end their longtime partnership after she spoke publicly about her postpartum depression.
Now, the brand is speaking out.
In her 2026 memoir "This Is Me: A Reckoning" and interviews promoting the book in May, the 36-year-old said the cosmetics brand, owned by Kenvue, wanted to "fire" her after she shed light on her condition on "Live with Kelly and Michael" in 2015, less than a year after she gave birth to her daughter, Kaya.
Panettiere's comments drew backlash in May from social media users – including one beauty content creator who declared "Neutrogena hates women!" – and criticism of the brand saw renewed fervor after the "Heroes" actress died at age 36 on Aug. 16. One Reddit post, which earned more than 2,500 upvotes, proposed a boycott against Neutrogena. Comments under another post mirrored this sentiment, with one user calling Panettiere's commercials a "core memory" for millennials.
The drama, explained: Will a Neutrogena boycott by Hayden Panettiere's fans work?

"Hayden's courage in sharing her challenges helped inspire important conversations and awareness," the statement continued. "We are making a significant investment in a long-standing community health partner to help give more women access to the support they need, including care for postpartum depression. Ruby Rose recently shared screenshots on social media that appear to be of texts from Hayden Panettiere. One of the apparent texts seems to refer to alleged mistreatment of Panettiere by her mother, Lesley Vogel. Panettiere died on August 16 at age 36 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ruby Rose recently shared a couple of screenshots on Threads from a conversation seemingly with Panettiere in which she spoke about her mother's ill treatment towards her. The text was about Rose talking to another unidentified individual, where she spoke about their respective parents. Rose wrote, "they did not act or behave like mothers." The reply reads, "I was sobbing over her cruelty yesterday thinking, my god I'm 36 and she can still cause this kind of pain. I'm her only child left and this is how she wants to handle the situation?!"
Another text from a person saved as "Hayden" on Rose's phone also showed them mentioning a potential podcast idea (via Entertainment Weekly). The message reads, "I'd love to do a podcast/anothony [sic] Bourdain show where we talk about issues and then go to the ends of the earth to find solutions."
The screenshots come amid Vogel facing backlash over her initial comments following her daughter's death. However, she recently released another statement, clarifying her complex bond with her daughter and speaking about her passing. In a statement, Vogel said, "Although my daughter and I were estranged, it was not for lack of care or love. It was due to the involvement of a toxic individual who I believe led to her death." She described her as a "beautiful and talented young woman" who became involved with the wrong person, whom she claimed the family tried to remove from her life. However, she claims they were unsuccessful (via Entertainment Tonight).
"I hope all remember Hayden for the beautiful human being inside her and her gift to the world from her time on this earth. My heart is with you, Hayden. Mama," she concluded.

Representatives for the beauty brand Neutrogena have broken their silence about their treatment of their former ambassador Hayden Panettiere following her death.
While promoting her memoir earlier this year, the Heroes actress claimed that Neutrogena dropped her as their brand ambassador after 10 years in 2015 because she spoke about her postpartum depression battle on a U.S. talk show.
The allegations resurfaced this week after Panettiere died on Sunday, prompting backlash against the company, which saw its stock spiral amid a fan boycott.
Addressing the uproar on social media on Thursday, reps for Neutrogena acknowledged that they made her feel "unsupported" while she was struggling.
"For more than a decade, Hayden was a valued member of our Neutrogena community," they wrote. "We are proud to have partnered with her and understand that we made her feel unsupported during a very difficult time. This is not what Neutrogena stands for or who we want to be."
They praised Panettiere's "courage" in speaking out about a taboo subject and vowed to make a "significant investment to a long-standing community health partner" to support women's health causes, including postpartum depression.

Meghan Markle reportedly felt "attacked" over one Princess Diana comparison while Kate Middleton avoided the same heat. The ******* ss of Sussex faced online backlash after sharing a birthday pool photo that critics compared to Diana's yacht image. A source claimed Meghan viewed the reaction as unfair because Kate also draws inspiration from Diana. The reported tension centered on fashion, public image, and who gets praised for royal homage.
As per a HeatWorld report, a source claimed Kate Middleton stayed silent after Meghan Markle's birthday photo backlash. The insider said Kate "won't have missed the skewering Meghan got." The source added that many people called it "an obvious attempt to copy Diana." However, Kate reportedly kept "totally out of the fray." The insider said she refused to upset Prince William by joining a "fashion war."
Meanwhile, the source said Kate clearly valued Diana's style legacy. The insider claimed there was "no doubt" Kate took inspiration from Diana's "timeless fashion choices." The Princess of Wales was also given some of Diana's jewelry by William. The source said Kate "treasures" those pieces. Still, the insider added that Kate would never want to feed a "catty narrative" about Princess Diana.
However, the same report claimed Markle viewed the different reactions as unfair. The source said Meghan would argue she was "only doing the same thing." Instead of being praised like Middleton, she was "attacked," the insider claimed. For context, Meghan shared black-and-white birthday photos. The images showed her jumping into a circular pool with balloons.
Soon after, the pictures sparked Princess Diana comparisons online. A recent report said one X account shared a side-by-side with Diana's 1997 Saint-Tropez vacation photo. Some users claimed Meghan was "cosplaying," while another wrote, "She always recreates her images." The HeatWorld insider pushed back, saying Meghan had shared "a fun photo" from her birthday. The source added she was "torn apart" because Diana was once photographed jumping from a yacht. For Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, the source framed the dispute as a double-standard debate.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are allegedly eyeing a return to the UK. A PR expert has suggested a big move that could help change their image. The Sussexes first revealed their intentions to step back from their royal duties in January 2020. They officially exited in March following their remarks. However, they are reportedly planning to return to the UK.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made some explosive claims following their exit as working royals. This tarnished their image in the UK, making them the center of a backlash storm. Now, as they eye a return to the UK (via Express), PR expert Brand Shaw has suggested that a "film or documentary series" about their homecoming could help them in "winning over the public."
The expert said that they ought to be "anti-Kardashians" by answering the "hard questions." He explained, "They haven't controlled the narrative, which we've established, and they don't seem to have a narrative. Those are two different problems."
"So, not being able to communicate your narrative is a big, big, big issue," Shaw added. "It's an issue in Hollywood. It's an issue where it didn't work out. Here, it's an issue why Hollywood was able to come after them."
He advised that Harry and Meghan give "really smart" answers to "hard" questions. "Make a story that answers the hardest of hard questions anyone could possibly ask you, and use the next three to five years to refer back to that."

Sophie Cunningham's nightmare outing sparks backlash after Fever loss originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The Indiana Fever had several opportunities to extend their winning streak Thursday night, but they could not find enough scoring support for Kelsey Mitchell when it mattered most.
Mitchell poured in 37 points, yet Indiana suffered a 91-85 road loss to the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale countered with a season-high 35 points for Dallas, while Awak Kuier controlled the paint with seven blocks, the most by any WNBA player in a game this season and a Wings franchise record.
Caitlin Clark also endured a difficult shooting night, finishing with 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting. Clark contributed nine ******* ists, but the Fever needed another scorer to help Mitchell carry the offensive load.
Sophie Cunningham never became that player. Cunningham went scoreless in 15 minutes, missing all four of her attempts from beyond the arc. She also finished without a rebound, ******* ist, steal or block, producing a stat line that immediately became a major talking point among Fever fans.

Arsenal are looking into whether a deal for Juventus' Kenan Yildiz is possible in this window, as Mikel Arteta seeks to complete his transfer plans for an **** ault on both the Champions League and Premier League for the new season.
The Basque has long identified the left side attack as a priority position to upgrade, with Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr having been the ideal target. The Brazilian's decision to stay at the Bernabeu caused **** nal to reconsider the situation, and some thought has been given to waiting until either January or next summer when other deals could become possible.
The club would probably have moved for Bournemouth's Jan Kroupi had it not been for his injury, and that does represent an option for January.
Yildiz has nevertheless been high up on their list of targets, with Arteta especially keen on the Turkish international. The fact he is 21 years old would also represent a shift back to signing talents who can evolve, after two moves in Ezri Konsa and Bruno Guimaraes of buying players in their prime.
The **** nal hierarchy do want to ensure more outgoings, while Juventus would be hard line on a player who is one of their burgeoning talents. They would want upwards of £60m, and also have to consider fan backlash. One solution that has been raised is Gabriel Martinelli potentially going the other way, but that would still require considerable negotiation.

GENEVA (AP) — A collection of soccer fan groups from around the world launched a petition Thursday calling for Gianni Infantino to resign as FIFA president after he tried to sell future World Cup profits to private investors.
The petition with the hashtag InfantinOut also calls for "FIFA to be rebuilt so that the current debacle can never happen again."
"The shameful attempt by one individual — the FIFA President himself — to sell off the World Cup to private investors exposed a betrayal football will never forget," the petition said about Infantino's plan for a commercial spinoff, which he dropped amid a furious backlash.
The fan groups include Football Supporters Europe, Football Supporters Africa and, in North America, the Independent Supporters Council, plus about 40 national fan groups worldwide.
Infantino has resisted calls to leave office despite European soccer body UEFA saying it has no confidence in him. He has also been criticized by the leadership of North America's CONCACAF and the Asian Football Confederation.

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele has revealed how recent Hall of Fame NBA coach Doc Rivers completely broke off personal ties with her over political differences.
Steele used to be a primary figure in ESPN's on-air programming, specifically with the NBA, for years. But since leaving ESPN in 2023, the 53-year-old media personality has soured on the NBA over different political stances.
With her opposing the NBA with conservative rhetoric over the last few years, it led to personal backlash from an NBA coach who Steele used to consider a friend, Doc Rivers.
Steele revealed on Dave Rubin's 'The Rubin Report' that her relationship with coach Doc Rivers fell apart after her open support for the Republican Party and U.S. President Donald Trump.
"I'm going to show you later the DMs from this man. Pages and pages of why I'm such an idiot to be a Republican or conservative and support Donald Trump. Out of the blue, he would send me clips, and I'm like, 'I just want to talk basketball with you' or 'How are your kids…?' Instead, it's, 'I'm so disappointed.'"

Neutrogena is facing a boycott and swarms of social media backlash over a story from Hayden Panettiere that has resurfaced after her sudden death at 36.
The Heroes star, who was the face of the popular skincare brand for about 10 years, said in her 2026 memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning that Neutrogena severed ties with her after she spoke publicly about receiving mental health treatment for postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter, Kaya, in 2014.
Panettiere alleged that her contract with the company was canceled because she revealed her PPD diagnosis on Live! with Kelly and Michael in 2015, explaining in her memoir: "Neutrogena canceled my long-standing contract, and it was yet another blow in a year that had given almost nothing else."
Upon the release of the memoir in May, the comments sparked online criticism of Neutrogena, but the brand is now facing renewed backlash after Panettiere died Sunday in Greenville, South Carolina.
One Reddit post, which has more than 5,000 upvotes, proposed a boycott against the company in honor of Panettiere. The comments echoed that attitude, with users vowing to never buy products from the company again.

WNBA forced to clarify Sophie Cunningham stance after Reddit controversy erupts originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The WNBA found itself pulled into another controversy involving Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, even though the league had nothing to do with the decision that sparked the backlash. Cunningham's name reportedly was filtered by moderators of the independently operated r/WNBA subreddit, preventing some users from publishing posts or comments about the veteran guard. The restriction quickly drew criticism from fans who believed an official WNBA community was censoring discussion of one of the league's most recognizable players.
There was one major problem with that **** umption: The subreddit is not operated by the WNBA. As frustration spread across social media, a league spokesperson issued a brief statement distancing the organization from the Reddit community.
"The WNBA does not moderate or have any affiliation with the r/WNBA subreddit," the league said, according to Khristina Williams.
The clarification did not settle the broader debate, but it established that the decision came from volunteer Reddit moderators rather than league officials.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Hundreds of people have been killed in the year since the U.S. military began bombing boats it accused of ferrying drugs off Latin America's Caribbean and Pacific coasts. Now, the Trump administration says it is seeking to extend that lethal campaign to land, pursuing deals that would put U.S. forces on the ground in allied nations across the region.
President Donald Trump's defense secretary, Pete Hegseth, announced last week during a visit to Panama that Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras had agreed to allow the U.S. to carry out joint military operations against criminal groups on their soil, following Ecuador, which launched similar missions with the U.S. in March. Guatemala, however, has denied reaching such an agreement.
It will be "like you saw with the strikes on the drug boats," Hegseth said during a military drill in the jungle in Panama. "Same effect on land. And so we're working with Ecuador. Voters across the region are increasingly embracing Trump-aligned leaders, giving Washington more willing partners. But critics warn that the widening U.S. military campaign risks civilian casualties and a backlash against the U.S. that could outlast the Republican administration.
