The U.S. dollar starts the day as traders focus on a series of major U.S. economic announcements that may influence expectations on the Federal Reserve's future policy. Following the Federal Reserve's recent announcement to leave their benchmark rate at 3.50% – 3.75%, traders will ****** yze today's JOLTS job openings, factory orders, and the ISM Services PMI, followed by the ADP private payrolls and the highly anticipated U.S. Nonfarm Payrolls report.
These upcoming economic releases will provide the first substantial evidence of if the U.S. economic calendar is starting to fade after recent indications of moderation within the U.S. labor market. Kevin Warsh, formerly of the Federal Reserve, said during the week that decisions from the Fed would remain data-dependent. While this has been the case, market participants have discussed if unemployment numbers that do not meet expectations may help alter the Fed's policy for this year. Reuters also noted the sensitivity of Treasury yields and the dollar to what the Fed calls "macro data."
The euro has support after last week's announcement from the European Central Bank. They stated that they would leave their deposit rate at 2.25%, and that they would continue their cautious, meeting-by-meeting approach. Traders have their eyes on euro zone retail sales and Germany's factory orders to signal the first signs of stabilization of domestic demand, all while ECB policymakers still insist that inflation is close to their 2% target.
Sterling still reflects last week's Bank of England decision to leave the coin at 3.75%. This week's UK services PMI, labor market, and activity data will show market participants what the British economy looks like as policymakers decide how to balance economic growth that is slowing with the danger of inflation continuing.
The US Dollar Index (DXY) is trading at 100.05. After last week's steep drop, this confirms efforts to reestablish a trading range. From the daily chart, the DXY has found support from a long-term ascending trendline that has guided price action since February. DXY buyers have defended the 99.48 horizontal support and prevented price action from weakening even further.

He currently has an R-rated comedy film streaming on Netflix called "72 Hours," produced in partnership with Sony, Davis Entertainment, Counterbalance Entertainment, Will Packer, and Hart's own studio, Hartbeat, according to What's On Netflix.

The early signing period is always a chaotic time for Florida State under Mike Norvell, and that was no different in December 2024.
After a 2-10 season, firing both coordinators, and losing their top commitment in the class, offensive lineman Solomon Thomas, the Seminoles knew they needed to pivot quickly. With no running back currently committed in their class, amazing for a program when the recruiting coordinator was also the running backs coach, and with released funds from Thomas' decommitment, the Seminoles flipped Ousmane Kromah from Georgia's recruiting class and landed the No. 3 running back in the 2025 cycle, according to 247Sports.
Even though the Georgia native did not enroll until the summer, Kromah came on campus with a college-ready frame, listed in 2025 as 6-foot-1, 218 pounds, and instantly started making his way up the depth chart. The true freshman finished with the third-highest rushing yards on the roster a season ago, and ranked second in yards per carry (5.4) among rushers with 30 or more attempts. Of course, he had his first-year moments, such as a costly fumble against Miami, but on a team that lacked consistent playmakers, almost every time Kromah touched the ball, he created action. Now, in year two, he and running backs coach Kam Martin expect Kromah to be a focal point.
"I know Ousmane has all the tools to be very special," Martin told the local Tallahassee media on Monday. "He takes hard coaching, and that's what I love about him. He's a guy that's in the building all day. Ous is a guy that's going to take that next step this year."
One of the keys to Kromah's improvement will be getting a full offseason in the collegiate ranks. As mentioned, Kromah enrolled in the summer of 2025, only getting fall camp to acclimate himself to the college game. Clearly, a full offseason has paid off, as he appeared notably stronger in his interview, even though he was listed at 216 pounds, and told the press he worked on improving his "conditioning" during the offseason.

The Texans have completed one week of Training Camp and it's been a learning experience to say the least. Between the rookies showcasing their skills, the injuries, and the veteran additions
As much as I prefer to start on an upward trajectory, this has to be addressed.
The Texans constrained their media affiliates on what they can tweet and communicate regarding depth charts, player groupings, and roster configuration. Do they not realize there are eight practices open to the public and preseason games? Fans will find out sooner or later what they're hiding. My hunch, first-rounder Keylan Rutledge doesn't look good and is not participating with the first or second string.
This is more illogical than embarrassing… and it's fairly embarrassing. There are eight practices open to the public, who have no media affiliation nor restriction on posting on social media. Word is going to get out one way or another as to what's happening at camp. If anything, trying to conceal it will only make fans search harder.
Watson in very short time and with even less production wedged himself onto this roster as an integral part of the system. His blocking and route running are highly valued ******* ets by Offensive Coordinator Nick Caley. Plus, the injury to Jaylin Noel opened up more reps for the veteran. Depending on Noel's timeline, Watson has the inside track to not only make the roster but start as the WR3.

No surprises here as the TE1 overall in 2025 and 2024 appear in the first tier. The ceiling with these two players is limitless in a way other tight ends can only dream of. McBride posted the third-most points for a tight end in NFL history last year, largely by setting the receptions record at 126. That goes down as 10 more than any other tight end in league history. Bowers holds the record for fantasy points by a rookie tight end. Even in a down 2025 season, his 43.3 PPR points in Week 9—on the back of a 12-127-3 receiving line—are the fourth-most for a tight end since the turn of the century. In both season-long and single-week measures, these two tight ends stand above the rest.
I strongly considered moving Loveland into Tier 1 and Warren into Tier 3. Loveland's final four games (including the postseason) were off the charts. He was targeted 48 times in total and topped 90 yards in three contests. Ben Johnson funneled him a 31 percent target share and a 35 percent air yards share. The Bears asked Loveland to be the centerpiece of their passing attack late in his rookie season and he only got better with more on his plate.
Warren, on the other hand, fizzled out down the stretch, finishing as a weekly TE1 for the final time in Week 12. With Daniel Jones under center, Warren was on pace for a monstrous season. Warren averaged 12.9 PPR points per game in 12 contests with Jones healthy. He was posting 1.9 yards per route run and .21 targets per route. Loveland finished the year at 1.9 and .23. We're likely looking at two very similar seasons if Jones stays healthy. Maybe he doesn't in 2026, but that's not a good reason for Warren to go two rounds after Loveland in fantasy drafts.

The world is running short on fuels—the warning was first issued by some **** ysts who were watching the physical market rather than futures charts. Now, Big Oil is joining the chorus of warnings, with Shell, Exxon and Chevron all saying that prices at the pump are set to stay higher, regardless of where crude oil prices go.
"The constraint pain point in the energy system is refining," Exxon's chief financial officer Neil Hansen told Bloomberg in an interview last week. This, according to him, is "something that perhaps the market isn't fully focused on."
Indeed, most oil market observers have focused exclusively on futures prices even when the gap between those and physical oil prices has been quite substantial as a result of the export flow disruption in the Middle East that has now spread from the Strait of Hormuz to the Red Sea as well. Futures prices are currently down from last week's peak on President Donald Trump's latest declaration of peace talks—but physical markets are in a very different place, and that is especially true of refined products.
Bloomberg reported last week that the wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, plus China's caps on fuel exports—and Russia's ban on diesel exports—have effectively slashed global refining capacity by as much as 10%. This may not sound like much at first glance, but it is a significant enough number to have some observers worried.

Someone is collecting signatures that might kill a racetrack by telling people it will save it. That is not a typo. Paid canvassers in Nashville were caught on hidden camera telling residents that signing their petition would protect the Fairgrounds Speedway from being torn down by corporate developers. The petition actually does the exact opposite. It strips racing's legal protections from the city charter and tries to open the land to housing construction. Dale Earnhardt Jr. sat down with Marcus Smith, Jeff Burton, and Matt Weaver to talk about it.
"My question is, if it's true, which there's video evidence of these folks seeking these signatures, stating false information or just incorrect information, how can that not be taken to de-legitimize the 50,000, 60,000 signatures they need?" said Dale Jr. on Wednesday's episode of The Dale Jr. Download.
"They are using actual government letterhead to give this to the residents. That's the moment it becomes a legal matter."
Residents who figured out they were misled are now trying to pull their names off the petition. But the Metro Clerk's office earlier told them they cannot before suggesting that anyone who would like to remove their name can contact Restore Our Fairgrounds. That said, former council members have already filed formal complaints demanding a full investigation.
The petition campaign has been backed by John Ingram, per reports, owner of Nashville SC.

According to reports, Luka Doncic is set to hold a minicamp for his Los Angeles Lakers teammates in his native Slovenia. Even better, he will reportedly pay for his teammates to make their way to Slovenia for that minicamp.
This will be an important event for the Lakers, given that they have so many new players on their roster for the upcoming season. One player who could play a key supporting role is Cameron Carr, the promising rookie guard who was the No. 24 pick in June's NBA draft.
According to NBA insider Marc Stein, every player on the roster will attend Doncic's minicamp — except Carr, who is required to participate in an official NBA orientation for rookies.
"The aforementioned Dončić has chartered a plane and is paying the full bill to fly and host every single Lakers teammate in his native Slovenia later this month. Expectations are soaring for Sitake's program, and for good reason. According to a report by CBS Sports, BYU is No. 3 in the country in overall returning players with snaps under their belt, at 63%. On offense, it is 60% and on defense it is 65%. CLEVELAND — All-Star starting pitcher Foster Griffin is scheduled to make his Guardians debut on Thursday, Aug. 6, against the New York Mets at Progressive Field, manager Stephen Vogt said.
The Guardians acquired the left-handed Griffin from the Washington Nationals shortly before the MLB trade deadline on Monday, Aug. 3. In return, Cleveland sent pitchers Will Dion, Josh Hartle, Kendeglys Virguez and outfielder Nick Mitchell to Washington.
"The year he's having, All-Star, one of the best starters in the game, and to add him with our group of starters that we already have and to work with [catchers Austin Hedges and Patrick Bailey] and our pitching coaches, [my advice to him is] keep doing what you've been doing all year," Vogt said of Griffin. "I know you got a different uniform on, but keep pitching. I'm excited to watch him pitch. I've never really seen him pitch a whole lot, so it's going to be fun."

The New England Patriots circled back to the wire after the ninth practice of training camp.
The organization officially claimed wide receiver Tejhaun Palmer off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday afternoon. In a corresponding 91-man roster move, tight end Jeremiah Franklin was placed on waivers.
Palmer, 26, entered the NFL in the sixth round of the 2024 draft at No. 191 overall. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound wide receiver by way of Snow College and UAB spent the majority of his initial two regular seasons on the Cardinals' practice squad. Ahead of Arizona's finale last January, Palmer was promoted to the 53-man roster. He saw four snaps on offense to go with two snaps on special teams in his debut and was waived on Monday.
Franklin, 22, had signed in Foxborough as an undrafted free agent leading up to training camp in July. The 6-foot-3, 244-pound tight end out of Boston College did so after participating in the Patriots' local pro day as well as rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. During his tenure in Chestnut Hill, Franklin appeared in 44 games, including 30 starts, on the way to catching 93 passes for 1,010 yards and six touchdowns.
The Patriots move further into August with 12 wide receivers on the active depth chart. And after losing veteran Julian Hill to injured reserve in June, the tight end room stands at six, including C.J. Dippre on the physically unable to perform list.

ESPN has unveiled its college football commentator lineup for the 2026 season, with Tom Hart and Roy Philpott moving into expanded roles following the departures of longtime play-by-play announcers Mark Jones and Dave Flemming.
At the top for ESPN, not much has changed. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe will return as ESPN's lead college football crew. Fowler and Herbstreit are entering their 13th year in that role for ESPN.
To pair with Fowler and Herbstreit, ESPN has hired a new lead rules ****** yst, with 22-year official Steve Shaw joining the booth. Previously, he served as the NCAA's secretary-rules editor for football and national coordinator of officials. Overall, ESPN will have four rules ****** ysts on the roster this year, with Shaw joining Matt Austin, Bill LeMonnier and Jerry McGinn.
The biggest changes involve the departures of Mark Jones and Dave Flemming.
Jones, who has long been paired with Roddy Jones, has been replaced by Tom Hart. Hart previously called SEC Network's SEC Saturday Night primetime games for the past 10 seasons. Quint Kessenich will join Hart and Jones as the sideline reporter.

The start of Kenyon Sadiq's journey in the NFL is not off to the start he would have hoped for. The Oregon Ducks rookie tight end was drafted in the first round by the New York Jets in April as a premier pass-catcher along the line of scrimmage. However, getting on the field is proving to be a struggle.
In the spring, Sadiq missed time to have a minor hernia procedure, which coach Aaron Glenn said the Jets were aware was an issue at Oregon before they drafted him. Glenn said the expectation was for Sadiq to return to the field for the start of training camp. As the Jets progress into the first part of camp, another setback has put Sadiq back on the shelf.
On Tuesday, Glenn announced that Sadiq suffered a setback in his recovery and "will be out for a little bit" during training camp. He does expect the former Oregon star to be ready and suit up for his debut in Week 1 of the season when the Jets travel to face the Tennessee ****** ans on Sept. 13.
Sadiq participated in the first three days of training camp with the Jets, working off to the side in what Glenn called a "maintenance program." He was absent from practice on Monday and Tuesday, which signaled some concern.
It's big news for the rookie tight end as he will likely miss most or all of the preseason and fall further behind on the depth chart. Sadiq's main competition is Mason Taylor, a second-year tight end for the Jets with similar pass-catching abilities. While Sadiq watches from the sideline, Taylor will have the opportunity to put more reps on tape for the coaches to review.

New faces and inexperience at quarterback, breaking in new receivers or ******* istant coaches, one thing has remained the same for Josh Heupel — the running game is the secret sauce. He's told us that time and time again, and he continues to prove himself correct.
Last year it was DeSean Bishop next in the pipeline, taking the reins from Dylan Sampson. Bishop responded with a 1,076 yard season, scoring 16 times while averaging nearly six yards per carry. The local product and former walk-on took his opportunity and has turned himself into a legitimate NFL prospect, and he's looking for more in 2026.
Bishop is up to 215 pounds, ready to take on the grind of the nine-game SEC slate. He battled through some injuries last season but hopes to be fully healthy for the duration this time around. Bishop is no question heading into the season, but what about what's behind him? Tennessee uses a rotation regardless of who is at the top of the depth chart, so establishing that second and third option is an important key for Josh Heupel over the next few weeks of camp. Tennessee played three backs last season and that appears to be the plan once again this year. Daune Morris forced his way onto the field in the second half of the season, getting his feet wet in the offense. The sophomore back brings something different to the backfield, offering a little more agility and burst. Morris could bring a little more explosiveness as the workhorse Bishop gets a rest after the first few series.
Morris handled 35 carries for 133 yards last season, although ran behind several mop-up duty offensive lines.

Ah, Greece. Sun, sea, hundreds of islands, friendly people, sirtaki, great olive oil, ouzo, pita, lamb dishes. I'm not gonna lie, Greece is my second favorite country in Europe, after, of course, Italy. So many uncharted territories, so many jewels scattered across the Mediterranean Sea, waiting to be explored.
Anyway, let's talk football. Greece has generated some excellent players over the years. Take their Euro 2004 squad: Charisteas, Zagorakis, Nikopolidis, Basinas, Seitaridis, Papadopoulos. They weren't superstars, but they were reliable and skilled players. The team was compact, resilient, and tough, winning against Portugal and France and drawing with Spain in 2004.
More recently, Greece has produced well-known names, including Odysseas Vlachodimos, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Anastasios Douvikas, and Vangelis Pavlidis, as well as promising young talents such as Christos Mandas, Christos Tzolis, and Konstantinos Karetsas.
And there is also Konstantinos Koulierakis: a tall, athletic center-back who just joined Roma from Wolfsburg and has already been capped 22 times by the Greek National Team.

It has been a good offseason for running backs named Robinson in Atlanta.
After signing Brian Robinson Jr. in free agency to solidify the backup running back role, the Atlanta Falcons opted to take care of the star that tops the depth chart.
Bijan Robinson and the Falcons have agreed to a three-year extension worth $66.75 million with a max value of $75 million, according to reports. The deal makes Robinson the highest-paid running back in NFL history, surpassing the $20.6 million-per-year mark set by Eagles back Saquon Barkley.
While there is always debate about the positional value of running backs, Robinson has been worth the price of admission. Selected with the No. 8 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the running back became an instant star in the pros.
Robinson's deal resets the running back market and puts extra pressure on teams with their own running backs seeking extensions: the Detroit Lions, with Jahmyr Gibbs, and the Indianapolis Colts, with Jonathan Taylor.

MIAMI GARDENS ― The Miami Dolphins will have one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, and many experts are projecting it will be one of the worst rosters in the NFL.
More important than wins in 2026 is that first-year coach Jeff Hafley and his staff do a great job of developing those young players. Miami does have young talent with upside.
Miami drafted 13 players in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Perhaps three or four of those players will become regular starters for Miami this season and perhaps 8 to 10 of them will see heavy snaps.

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking like a much different team as they head into the 2026-27 season. New President of Basketball Operations Mike Gansey looks to build a strong roster around the team's talented core. The Sixers have been unable to get over the hump in the past, but Gansey and Co. have made steps towards fixing that problem.
The Sixers began the offseason by selecting Labaron Philon Jr. with the No. 22 overall pick and then went out and brought in Dean Wade, Ariel Hukporti, and Anfernee Simons in free agency. Then, the Sixers swung for the fences with the blockbuster trade to bring in Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. Then they landed the biggest name in free agency in LeBron James before landing a deal with 2-time champion Kentavious Caldwell-Pope as another depth piece.

Larne have said their Europa League qualifier at Inver Park with FC Iberia 1999 on Tuesday night is set to go ahead as scheduled despite their visitor's travel complications.
The Georgian team could not land in Northern Ireland on Monday due to paperwork issues with their chartered flight, sparking concerns the game would be delayed.
Some of FC Iberia 1999's players and staff are now not expected to arrive for the first leg of the third qualifying round tie until Tuesday afternoon, with kick-off scheduled in Larne at 20:00 BST.
Uefa regulations state that teams must arrive in a country for a match no fewer than 24 hours before kick-off, but Larne have posted on X that the game is "scheduled to go ahead as planned".
The second leg will take place in Tbilisi on 11 August at 17:00 BST.
