The Jacksonville Jaguars had their first training camp practice with new running back Chris Rodriguez in attendance, though head coach Liam Coen said it offered only a small glimpse into what Rodriguez can offer.
Rodriguez missed much of Jacksonville's offseason program while recovering from surgery on a foot injury, delaying his opportunity to begin fighting for a role in the backfield.
The Jaguars signed the former Commanders running back after Travis Etienne departed in free agency, but Rodriguez's value is tied largely to a bruising style that is difficult to evaluate before the pads come on.
"What he brings to this team, I don't think any of us are going to see throughout the entire training camp, honestly," Coen said. "Until we play tackle football, it's going to be very difficult for all of us here to gain a true appreciation for who he is and what he does. Chelsea have made surprise approaches for the veteran pair in a bid to add experience to their group. Welbeck is due to undergo a medical ahead of signing a two-year deal, in a transfer that will be the first time Chelsea have paid a fee for a player aged over 26 since 2022.
The 35-year-old could be joined by Jordan Henderson, who has departed Brentford by mutual consent. Chelsea have earmarked the 36-year-old as a potential leader for their squad.

The Oregon Ducks men's basketball program has gone through a litany of changes this offseason, with eight incoming transfers replacing eight outgoing transfers. The coaching staff has also experienced its fair share of changes, as long-time Dana Altman ***** istant coach Mike Mennenga departed for Creighton and Brandon Kuhn was hired as the new strength and conditioning coach.
The latest change comes from ***** istant coach Kevin McKenna, who has decided to retire. FOXBOROUGH, Mass – After a slow day on Monday that consisted of just a walkthrough practice, the New England Patriots certainly ramped things up on Tuesday. The players took the field in shells, preparing for their first padded practice which is set for later this week.
And with that, those in attendance got their first look at the offense doing 7-on-7 drills as well as some time spent on 1-on-1s between the offensive and defensive lines.

HNB are reporting that Antwerp are considering bringing former QPR striker Michael Frey back to the club. The Swiss forward enjoyed a prolific time with the Belgian side but left during their **** le winning season after being replaced by Vincent Janssen. However, his move to QPR didn't go as planned and after a few months back in Switzerland he is now a free agent. Janssen has since departed Antwerp and the side could certainly do with having an experienced physical presence like Frey up front. It is not clear yet whether or not Frey is open to the return, given he did not leave Antwerp on the best of terms.
After coming through with Young Boys, Frey moved to Lille in 2014. After just 21 games and three goals, with a loan spell back in Switzerland with Luzern, he returned to Young Boys in 2016. Spells with FC Zurich and Fenerbahce followed, as well as a loan to FC Nurnberg, but Frey could not replicate the success he had had in Swiss football. That was until he joined Beveren, then Waasland-Beveren, on loan for the 2020/2021 season. Despite the sides relegation from the Pro League, Frey impressed with 17 goals in 31 games.
The following season Antwerp brought Frey to Belgium permanently. Frey enjoyed a fantastic first season with the club, scoring 24 goals in 46 games. However, after nine goals in 23 games the following season, Frey wanted to leave, with Janssen having taken his starting spot. LOS ANGELES -- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be on the verge of losing another cornerstone player after star defensive tackle Vita Vea officially requested a trade, creating one of the biggest storylines of the NFL offseason and immediately sparking speculation that the two-time Pro Bowler could be headed back to the West Coast.

With the Washington Commanders rookies having already reported for the 2026 training camp, let's learn about Henry. Initially, it is perfectly understandable if no one in the Commanders fan base knew of Henry in his first two years of college. You see, he played for Jones College in Ellisville, Mississippi, a junior college in 2021 and 2022. Henry then transferred, finding a new football home at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Playing at UTSA from 2023-2025, Henry blossomed in his senior season, accumulating 1,045 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 151 carries, averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. One of the things that Commanders scouts no doubt noticed about Henry was his development in his ability to break off an explosive run for big yardage. Henry produced five rushes of 70-plus yards in 2025. This was not only the best, but was three more than any other FBS player. Henry was named a first-team All-American Athletic Conference and was a Doak Walker Award semifinalist.
Standing 5-foot-9, weighing 196 pounds, Henry is not exactly Derrick Henry in stature. This is another reason Henry went undrafted in April's 2026 NFL Draft. When the seventh and final draft rounds had concluded, there was Henry still available, and the Commanders ****** ed him, signing him to an undrafted free agent deal.

Newcastle United have completed the signing of midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco.
The transfer has gone through for an initial fee of £30m, with a further £5.5m possible in add-ons.
The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract at St James' Park and will wear the club's number eight shirt.

Following the 2025 season, 31 players departed from the Oregon Ducks roster via the transfer portal, seeking more opportunity elsewhere. Reserve quarterback Austin Novosad was one of the more prominent names to do so.
Rated as a four-star and the No. 13 quarterback in the 2023 class, Oregon managed to flip Novosad from Baylor after five-star Dante Moore spurned the Ducks and himself flipped to UCLA. A top 200 prospect, the flip was considered a significant win for Oregon especially how quickly it came after losing Moore.
But the 6-foot-3, 205-pound Novosad never could quite carve out a role with the Ducks. He saw his most action in 2023 as a freshman, completing 9-of-11 passes for 52 yards in garbage time. That ended up being the peak, as he was the third-string quarterback in 2024 and once again in 2025.
Having transferred to Bowling Green of the MAC, where he's projected to be the starter this fall, intrigue is following the former Oregon passer. While The Athletic ranked Novosad as a Tier 7 (113th out of 138 overall) quarterback in college football, the lowest tier, he was named among seven of the most fascinating signal-callers to keep an eye on in 2026.
"We never saw much of Novosad at Oregon," The Athletic's Antonio Morales wrote. Millie Turner has departed Manchester United after eight years at the club and signed for newly-promoted Birmingham City.
Birmingham confirmed the centre-back's arrival for an undisclosed fee on Wednesday. She had two years remaining on her contract with United, which she signed last summer.
Turner, 30, joined United in 2018 following the reformation of the women's team and helped them earn promotion to the Women's Super League during their debut season.

According to a new report from Sportsnet inside Elliotte Friedman, Pridham is expected to handle contract, cap management, and planning responsibilities with the Penguins.
The duties Pridham is expected to take on were previously being handled by Vickie Mpofu, who recently departed the Penguins organization for Nashville.
