Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR) announced the opening of its 6.4-megawatt NBO2 data center in Nairobi on September 7, expanding the campus alongside NBO1. The opening coincides with subsidiary iColo's transition to the parent's brand in Kenya and Mozambique.
The attraction extends beyond additional server ****** e. Customers can access the campus's community of more than 100 networks, two internet exchanges and a satellite teleport, which connects terrestrial networks with satellite services. These are connectivity options, not a disclosure of NBO2's leased capacity or customer count.
For Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR), the opportunity is to turn that concentration of networks into recurring customer relationships. The opening announcement did not disclose development cost, pre-leasing, occupancy, or expected revenue, leaving the financial payoff unresolved.
Interconnection can give customers a reason to choose a facility beyond price. Physical connections between customers and network providers can reduce latency and support more reliable data exchange. For businesses serving several markets, having carriers and partners close together can simplify how traffic moves between them.
That creates a potential network effect for Digital Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:DLR). More useful connections can attract additional customers, making the location more valuable to others. Once customers build several connections into their operations, relocating can become more disruptive. The resulting retention advantage could support recurring revenue, although it remains an investment thesis rather than a demonstrated NBO2 result.

Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) disclosed on September 6 that a wholly owned subsidiary had signed a conditional RMB1.5 billion cash commitment to Tianjin Lisi Xingshen Equity Investment Partnership. The agreement, dated September 4, requires shareholder approval, with payments funded internally through capital calls.
Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) expects to hold no more than 30% of the fund and will have no role in daily management or individual investment decisions. The blind-pool structure asks shareholders to approve a manager and strategy before specific investments are identified. The fund targets early-to-mid-stage private AI and technology companies with significant mainland China connections.
The strategic rationale fits the company's existing capabilities. Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) is developing AI search, expert-data solutions and AI-enabled content businesses. Exposure to foundation models, infrastructure, robotics and applications could create technology partnerships and help identify emerging customer needs.
A specialist fund also supplies investment research, deal sourcing and portfolio oversight that would require substantial internal resources to replicate. For shareholders, the potential benefit combines investment returns with commercial opportunities for the core content platform. Any cooperation would still require separate **** sment and agreement.
There is an operating business to build around. Second-quarter paid content and intellectual-property operations revenue increased to RMB425.9 million from RMB408.2 million. Zhihu Inc. (NYSE:ZH) also reduced total operating expenses by 13% to RMB469.4 million. These results support a focused approach in which outside technology complements established content and expert relationships.

Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), a developer of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), has been one of the market's hottest growth stocks. Its shares surged more than 2,500% over the past two years, while its backlog swelled to $20 billion at the end of 2025. That's ten times the $2.0 billion in revenue it generated in 2025. ******* ysts expect its revenue to more than double to $4.1 billion this year, then grow 65% to $6.8 billion in 2027 and 46% to $9.9 billion in 2028.
That growth trajectory is impressive, but the recent introduction of its Power Connect system -- which could reduce its on-site installation time by more than 40% -- could help it exceed those bullish estimates. Let's see why this upgrade could matter more than the size of its backlog.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Bloom's SOFCs can convert natural gas, biogas, propane, and hydrogen into electricity without any combustion. Its systems can also be deployed on-site in less than three months and bypass traditional electrical grids, which can require years to set up new connections.
Those advantages make SOFC systems a popular choice for data centers seeking to quickly expand their cloud and AI infrastructure while maintaining a smaller carbon footprint. Oracle, CoreWeave, Nebius, Equinix, and other data center giants already use its SOFC systems. Brookfield ******* et Management (NYSE: BAM), one of the world's largest ******* et managers, funds Bloom's development and deployment of those SOFC systems via a $25 billion partnership.

Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO) reported fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of $479.0 million, up 9.6% sequentially. Management said the company's connectivity portfolio now spans copper and optical products, while total revenue increased 114.7% year over year. GAAP gross margin fell to 64.5% from 68.2% in the preceding quarter and 67.4% one year earlier.
GAAP operating expenses increased to $188.4 million from $142.2 million sequentially, while GAAP operating income declined to $120.7 million from $155.8 million. Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO) nevertheless expects another quarter of growth, guiding fiscal second-quarter revenue to $525 million to $535 million. The $530 million midpoint implies approximately 10.6% sequential expansion.
The question is whether revenue growth and the broader AI connectivity portfolio can offset acquisition-related costs and rising operating expenses.
Revenue scale remains the central strength. Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO) offers active electrical cables, optical transceivers, digital signal processors, silicon-photonics components, retimers, and chip-to-chip connectivity. These products address connections spanning short distances inside AI systems through longer links across clusters.
Absolute GAAP gross profit still increased to $309.1 million from $298.1 million sequentially despite the lower margin. Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd (NASDAQ:CRDO) ended the quarter with $764.3 million in cash and short-term investments, down from approximately $1.44 billion following completion of the DustPhotonics acquisition during the quarter. The remaining liquidity supports research, product development, and capacity requirements.

Now that Meghan Markle is back in the UK, there's a lot of interest in if she'll be keeping some of her Hollywood connections. A lot of big celebrities attended her wedding with Prince Harry, but not many were seen in the years after as they were living in the UK. Has the time in the US changed that?
Reportedly, not so much. At least not for one particular person. Markle was allegedly interested in having tea with Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who are in London for Jay-Z's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shows. And yet no plans materialized for a meeting, casual or otherwise.

Sarah Ferguson has reportedly offered to help Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reconnect with London's social circles. However, a source claims the offer could come with strings attached. The Duke and **** ss of Sussex recently returned to the UK with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after six years in the US. Ferguson has also returned to England.
According to the National Examiner, Sarah Ferguson believes she can help Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find their footing in London society. The source claims the former **** ss of York still has valuable connections despite her complicated relationship with the royal establishment. "She wants to open doors for them in London society," the source reveals. "She may be persona non grata publicly right now, but she still has plenty of friends in those circles that can smooth things along for Harry and Meghan."
Ferguson has also recently returned to England. Her return comes around the same time that Harry and Meghan have begun establishing their new life in Britain with Archie and Lilibet. The source claims Ferguson is presenting her offer as a way to support Harry and Meghan because she understands what it feels like to find oneself outside the royal inner circle.
However, the insider suggests that Ferguson could also gain from helping the Sussexes. "She's framing it as a chance to help them out because she understands how hard it is to be an outsider," the source says. "But naturally this is really all about Sarah helping Sarah."
Harry and Meghan recently reunited with King Charles after years of strained family relations. The source argues that their renewed contact with the King could give Ferguson another reason to remain close to the Sussexes. "They have the ear of the King now, so it can only bode well for her if they're on side," the source explains.

Going into the Italian Grand Prix, of all the storylines and narratives being composed, absolutely none of them involved Pierre Gasly and Alpine.
That's not dismissive of the French driver or the Enstone team, but Ferrari competing on home soil with a decent chance of victory and an Italian in Kimi Antonelli leading the championship was always going to take every column inch available this weekend.
So, when the FIA Court of Appeal report dropped at the start of first practice at Monza to inform the world that Gasly had lost his Monaco GP podium, a new and unexpected theme emerged. And then it snowballed.
First there was Flavio Briatore's questioning of the integrity of one of the judges, Filippo Marchino, about connections to McLaren – one of the lead proponents in the appeal – which McLaren team principal Andrea Stella vehemently took offence to, then there was the FIA Court of Appeal statement to dismiss comments of impartiality.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is buying into Eagles OC Sean Mannion's new West Coast scheme, which asks him to play more under center rather than in shotgun with more timing-based connections to the Eagles' pass-catchers, according to Tim McManus of ESPN on Saturday, Sept. 6.
SOURCE: Tim McManus - ESPN
Why It Matters: Hurts' connection with his pass-catchers this season will never be more important, as he'll be without A.J. Brown for the first time since 2022. Philadelphia added first-round rookie WR Makai Lemon and the team also traded for Dontayvion Wicks to add to mainstays WR DeVonta Smith and TE Dallas Goedert. The run game has worked and will continue to work, but for fantasy, getting the ball in the air and with some passing volume will really boost Hurts' fantasy profile. Consider Hurts a locked-in QB1 this season, but if the passing component works in tandem with his rushing ability, then overall QB1 is within reach this season.

During the September 1 episode of Mad Money, a caller inquired whether Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) is a buy. In response, Jim Cramer commented:
Okay, this is another one that proves my point. Marvell reported an amazing quarter. What they then said was, "Look, listen, maybe our big win won't be till 2029… It's going to be pushed back." They have an October meeting, beginning of October, their ****** yst meeting. That's going to tell us what's going to happen. I don't feel comfortable until I see what they say before I say just pull the trigger.
Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) has quietly become a powerhouse in the infrastructure driving the AI boom, specializing in custom chips and ultra-fast optical connections. Through massive partnerships, including custom silicon work with Google, the company has positioned itself right at the center of the AI buildout. Its data center revenue keeps shattering records because tech giants desperately need its networking gear to keep expensive GPUs from getting bottlenecked. For bulls, these multi-year deals mean steady, dependable growth that can ride out the usual semiconductor boom-and-bust cycles.
Even with great numbers, Wall Street has zero patience for tech stocks when timelines get pushed out. With Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) trading at a steep 50.25x forward multiple, there is no room for slip-ups if margins or execution wobble. As Cramer pointed out, management indicated that the big financial payoff from Google partnership might not arrive until 2029 which complicates things for investors expecting quick returns. Anyone counting on quick gains could face a reality check if customer spending slows down or unexpected hurdles pop up.
Wall Street's smart money is paying close attention to Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) as a practical way to back the AI infrastructure buildout. According to Insider Monkey's database tracking over 1,000 elite hedge funds, 96 hedge funds held positions in the company during the second quarter, up from 79 in the previous quarter, showing clear institutional backing. It is worth noting that the D E Shaw increased its position in Q2 by 658%, as per Insider Monkey. At the same time, short interest sits at just 3.79% of the float, indicating limited skepticism against the stock.

Sidney Starr will remain behind bars after the mother of a 13-year-old boy described the severe emotional toll the reality star's alleged actions have taken on her son. A Fulton County judge denied Starr bond on Tuesday, August 25, siding with prosecutors who argued that her limited connections to the Atlanta area and sizable public platform made releasing her a risk while the felony case proceeds.
According to WSB-TV, the mother addressed the court through a written statement, revealing that her son has needed significant mental health treatment since the alleged encounter. "He is required to attend intensive therapy to begin the healing process for what was done to him," she said.
Starr, whose legal name is Sidney Favors, listened from the courtroom in a jail jumpsuit as prosecutors presented new details about the case.
COMPLEX SHOP: Shop the brands you love, anytime and anywhere. Uncover what's next. Buy. Collect. Obsess.
According to prosecutors, the boy encountered Starr at the Embassy Suites on International Boulevard in Hapeville earlier this month. He allegedly entered an elevator with her before accompanying her to a hotel room.

Nvidia has placed a large financial bet on the lasers that connect AI systems. On March 2, NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) invested $2 billion in Coherent Corp. (NYSE:COHR) common stock and entered a nonexclusive multiyear strategic arrangement covering optics development, purchase commitments, and access to manufacturing capacity. Coherent's August filing keeps attention on the capital required to meet that opportunity. The deal suggests bandwidth, not raw compute alone, may determine how quickly next-generation data centers scale.
Photo from Coherent website
NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) needs faster and more power-efficient connections as clusters grow to enormous numbers of accelerators. Strategic access to lasers and optical components can reduce supply risk and help Nvidia coordinate networking with its computing roadmap. The bull case is that Nvidia secures a critical input before demand peaks. The bear case is that purchase commitments could become less attractive if technologies shift or capacity expands faster than customers need.
Coherent Corp. (NYSE:COHR) gains capital, demand visibility, and validation from the AI industry's most influential platform company. Its lasers, transceivers, and materials can participate as data movement consumes a larger share of system power and cost. Yet scaling production requires capital expenditures and working capital well before all revenue is recognized. Customer concentration, manufacturing yields, pricing negotiations, and technology transitions can determine whether volume growth becomes attractive free cash flow.
The nonexclusive structure is important here. Nvidia can support capacity without surrendering alternative suppliers, while Coherent can sell beyond Nvidia. That makes the arrangement more resilient than an acquisition, but it also limits exclusivity as a competitive moat. The strongest thesis is not that one partner controls optics. It is that AI architectures need substantially more optical content, allowing both partners to benefit if execution holds.

The financial line management once put first now gets far less airtime than a business that has yet to reach the revenue line.
Verizon Communications (VZ) has spent the past year retelling its own story. The company that once sold investors on network leadership and a single wireless revenue line now leads with a combined connectivity metric and a new business contracting fiber to connect hyperscalers' data centers. The redirect is real and mostly healthy. It also moves the number a long-term holder ought to be watching.
The Network Was Built Once And Sold Many Times
Nearly two years ago the pitch was the build itself. Verizon's October 2024 call framed a network that gets built once and then paid for by selling connections across it. As late as the July 2025 call, management was still calling the network its key differentiator and still leading its financials with wireless service revenue.
Now The Lead Is A Combined Metric And A Dark-Fiber Deal

The race to build more data centers for artificial intelligence is driving demand for more than chips and electricity.
It also requires vast networks of high-speed optical fiber to move data between servers, putting one of America's oldest manufacturers at the center of the boom.
Corning, the New York-based company best known to many Americans for its kitchenware and smartphone glass, is ramping up optical-fiber production as the data-center buildout accelerates. Nearly 175 years after its founding, the company is supplying a critical piece of the infrastructure behind the AI boom, the glass connections linking the servers inside the facilities powering it.
One Of The World's Hottest Industries Is Sparking A Blue-collar Jobs Boom
The company is partnering with NVIDIA to build three advanced optical-manufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Texas. The project is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs and expand Corning's U.S. optical-manufacturing capacity tenfold.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Three Brand Racing, let's ride.
The very first race on Saturday's Travers Day card at Saratoga Race Course brought a unique brand of excitement when Club Reign, ridden by Edgard Zayas, ran a maiden special weight field of six other 2-year-olds off their feet en route to a six-length victory.
The performance was impressive, but the connections brought the hype. Club Reign was the first-ever starter for co-owner Three Brand Racing, the new racing enterprise of recently retired Super Bowl-winning quarterback Russell Wilson.
As Wilson, music star Ciara - the former NFL QB's wife - and the couple's three children celebrated with their partners, there was plenty of hype in the winner's circle.
"Man, what an exciting day," a jubilant Wilson said. "We're so excited for Three Brand Racing and, obviously, Club Reign. What a blessing. We were so fired up about this horse. We felt like we had a tremendous athlete in this horse. (He's) our first one for me and Ciara and our team, our Three Brand Racing team, and to come out here and to win in Saratoga - and he won by a lot. He's a fast horse."

King Haakon of Norway has several interesting connections to the British royal family
In addition to being distantly related via Queen Victoria and King Christian IX of Denmark, Princess Anne is also one of the new King's godparents
Queen Victoria is sometimes referred to as "the grandmother of Europe" for how many family trees have grown from her line of descendants
King Haakon VIII, the new King of Norway, shares several interesting connections with the British royal family.
The first and most obvious is the familial relations. Many of today's European royal families share connected bloodlines thanks to the strategic matchmaking of 19th-century monarchs like Queen Victoria and King Christian IX of Denmark. Queen Victoria, in particular, is sometimes referred to as "the grandmother of Europe" for how many family trees have grown from her line of descendants.

Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed described Americans as "desperate to feel something" and lamented that "we're just all living it alone here" while reflecting on the community he experienced during extended childhood stays in Egypt during a podcast episode last year — remarks uncovered after the candidate recently declared that he "hates" one of his home state's most iconic destinations.
During a late-October 2025 podcast interview, after getting asked what Americans could gain from life "back home," El-Sayed had a one-word answer: "Community."
"I think the hardest part about American life right now is that we've been, like, deeply atomized," El-Sayed said, arguing that the connections offered through phones and social media are "not community." In Egypt and other societies with far more constant human interaction, he said, "you're constantly enveloped in other people's humanity."

Olivia Munn has a lot going on. The star of Apple TV's "Your Friends & Neighbors" is busy filming the series' third season while parenting her two children, Malcom and Méi, with her husband, John Mulaney, and serving as the new face of Anne Klein's fall-winter 2026 campaign. All of this while getting ready for fashion month and the upcoming 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony.
But Munn is a master of finding beauty in the chaos. Especially after a roller coaster last few years, in which the actress battled back-to-back health issues. Following the birth of her son in 2021, Munn's battled the depths of postpartum anxiety.
Then, in April 2023, the actress was diagnosed with "an aggressive, fast-moving" Luminal B breast cancer in both ****** . Having detected the cancer early, she acted quickly, and by the following year, Munn had five successful surgeries, including a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, and a partial hysterectomy. Then, in September 2024, she welcomed her daughter via surrogate.
Now, with the dust of the last few years settling, Munn is recentering her focus on what brings her happiness, such as going back to work, hanging out with her close girlfriends, date nights with her husband, and all things fashion. And even better yet, advocacy through fashion.
"Women change women's lives," Munn tells USA Today of her partnership with Anne Klein. The famed American designer herself died at the age of 50 from breast cancer in 1974. "Sometimes the most important thing you can do is remind another woman to take that next step with their health. Those are the meaningful connections that sometimes really can lift you out of your fog."

CHELSEA — Tim Robison wants Chelsea to win football games, but his definition of winning extends well beyond Friday nights.
As Robison prepares for his first season as a head coach, he is attempting to build something designed to last, from higher expectations in the weight room and stronger connections from youth football through high school to a champion mentality that applies whether the Green Dragons are lining up for kickoff or walking through the halls.
The wins, Robison believes, can follow the habits.
And as Chelsea begins a new era, establishing those habits is priority No. 1.
"I'm a person that likes to produce good men and good women," Robison said. "That's my teaching and coaching philosophy. It's not all about football for me. Football is on the forefront, but right behind it, really close for me, is raising young men and young women."

If you're like me, you grew up dreaming that one day you'd be a writer. I consider myself immensely lucky that I get to do this job which often does not feel like a job at all. Still, there are challenges: as with so many creative feels, wages are low, opportunities can be slim, and the politics of who knows who and how to get ahead are everywhere. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, writers make an average of about $70K a year; and writers often work additional jobs to make ends meet. None of this is helped along by our growing literacy crisis, nor the ever increasing presence of AI. In an article for Fast Company on the adverse impact of AI on young writers, Jennifer Ward writes, "They're simultaneously struggling to figure out if they need to use AI to keep up in today's competitive industry—or eschew it altogether in order to maintain trust."
So I often find myself turning to successful writers who are candid about what it really takes to not only make a career out of writing, but to make a living. Sometimes those writers just happen to be bestselling novelists like Gillian McAllister.
McAllister, who is based in the UK is the author of of Reese's Book Club Pick Wrong Place Wrong Time, Read With Jenna pick, Caller Unknown, Famous Last Words, Just Another Missing Person, Everything but the Truth, The Choice, The Good Sister, The Evidence Against You, How to Disappear, and the Richard & Judy Book Club pick That Night. She's also the creator and co-host of the podcast Honest Authors where she and Holly Seddon pull the curtain back on being a working writer. On Instagram, Gillian talks openly about everything from the day to day of writing while parenting, to the lessons she learned pivoting from a career as a lawyer to working as a writer full time. To celebrate the release of That Night in paperback this month, I caught up with Gillian to talk about what it really takes to become a writer, bringing nuance and heart to her books, and chronic illness shapes her work.
Caroline Reilly: I understand that before your career as a writer, you were a lawyer. What were some of the earliest thoughts or ideas you had about pivoting to writing?
Gillian McAllister: If you had asked me at any stage of my life–and I had told the truth–I would have said I wanted to be a writer. But I didn't know how to do it: I had zero connections, zero money, and rent to pay, so I became a lawyer, which I practiced and enjoyed for a long time. Though fiction was always in the background: I had a blog which was essentially writing practice for me, and three or for half-started manuscripts on a very old MacBook with a worn-out E key.

Finding emerging restaurant brands early in their national expansion can be one of the simplest ways to build long-term wealth. An early investment in Starbucks or Chipotle Mexican Grill would have multiplied into a large sum.
Dutch Bros (NYSE: BROS) and Cava Group (NYSE: CAVA) have the potential to build similar wealth for investors over the next 20 years. Both companies are in the early stages of expanding across the U.S., making now a good time to start investing in these emerging brands.
Continue »
The specialty beverage category has grown in popularity in recent years, yet Dutch Bros is gaining market share and remains a promising stock to buy and hold. It operates exclusively through a drive-thru format, with shops offering a wide range of flavorful beverages, including energy drinks, refreshers, tea, lemonade, soda, and coffee.
Dutch Bros goes the extra mile to build connections with customers using free giveaways and friendly service. That's reflected in consistent growth: Revenue grew 32% year over year in the second quarter, with systemwide same-store sales up 5.8%. This is typical of quarterly results over the last few years.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have had global fame, but an insider says they lacked the industry experience needed to succeed in Hollywood. Their decision to spend more time in Britain has renewed questions about their Hollywood plans. Some now argue that their fame alone could not replace the years of industry experience needed to succeed in the business.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle moved to California after leaving their senior royal roles and quickly attracted attention from major US entertainment companies. In 2020, just months into the COVID-19 pandemic, they signed a major production deal with Netflix.
The couple's arrival created huge expectations because very few newcomers had entered Hollywood with the same level of global fame. Their royal status gave them instant attention, connections, and a large audience. However, the entertainment industry also requires creative experience, production skills, and a proven track record.
Rick Nicita, a former CAA agent and longtime Hollywood producer, argued that Harry and Markle entered a system where money and fame alone do not guarantee success. "I have absolutely nothing at all against Harry and Meghan, but they weren't bringing anything tangible to the table other than their celebrity in a different sphere of life," Nicita said to Page Six. He questioned why Hollywood companies would invest in their projects when Harry and Meghan had no previous experience as filmmakers, producers, or other entertainment professionals.
Nicita did not rule Harry and Markle out completely. He said they could still succeed if their ideas connect with audiences at the right time. In Hollywood, newcomers can make it when their ideas match what people want and the culture of the moment. The Sussexes are not the first outsiders to enter Hollywood with big reputations and ambitious plans. Many famous people have learned that success in another field does not always lead to a long-lasting career in Hollywood.

A Wisconsin high school football quarterback died after injuries that were sustained following the team's season-opening game on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Adam Massman, a senior at Alma Center Lincoln High in central Wisconsin, died after Lincoln's game against Turtle Lake due to injuries sustained during the game. Lincoln ultimately won, 42-18.
"Adam was active in our Lincoln community, participating in multiple sports, clubs, and activities making friends everywhere he went," Superintendent Drew Semingson said in a statement. "This loss touches our Lincoln family in many ways. Adam's family has deep connections throughout our schools."
According to a statement provided to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, EMT were onsite at the game and Massman was taken to the hospital. It's unclear what injury Massman sustained, as the district is only releasing information approved by the family.
The school is open to students, parents and friends if they need to meet with counselors, and counseling support would be available Monday, Aug. 24, at noon through Tuesday.

Hoda Kotb's unusually emotional encounter with a stranger on an airplane did not end when the flight landed. The former Today anchor now says she and the mystery man have recently started texting.
Kotb shared the update during her Aug. 21 return to Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, while immediately cautioning viewers not to read too much into it. "This is not a real love connection," she said before explaining how the story had unexpectedly continued.
The pair first met on a flight and later crossed paths again when Kotb traveled to Cannes for work with her Joy 101 company. She initially thought the connection had faded after that second encounter, but revealed Friday that they have since resumed contact.
When Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones pressed for details, Kotb confirmed that the man is single and described him as "really cute" and "very handsome." She still refused to define what the connection might become, saying, "There are connections. I don't know what it is."
Kotb said the original encounter began simply because she happened to be seated beside the man on a flight, but their conversation became much more personal than either apparently expected. "It was the weirdest connection in the world. We were both crying," she recalled during her Aug. 21 appearance.

Mark Walter has agreed to sell his majority ownership stake in the Los Angeles Lakers just a little more than one year after buying it, a fascinating development with several side stories likely to continue unfolding over the coming months.
The deal will also — maybe — end the Buss family's 47-year run as stewards of the franchise. At least that's what five of the six Buss siblings are hoping for. They've voted to sell their roughly 18 percent share in the team. Since the lone holdout is Jeanie Buss, the most powerful of the bunch, the five-against-one showdown kind of feels like a coin flip. Stay tuned.
Meanwhile, the feds continue to dig into Walter's sprawling business empire from multiple angles. You can read all about that here, and about some of Walter's countermoves here.
We'll touch on the saga a little bit in this week's quiz, with a whole lot more along the way. So enjoy, and make sure you try out our Connections: Sports Edition game, too!

Prince William is reportedly concerned about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's decision to spend an extended period in the UK. The reported move has left William and Kate Middleton frustrated, with one source claiming the couple believes the Sussexes could eventually seek a larger role within the Royal Family.
PEOPLE reported that Harry and Meghan plan to return to Britain for an extended stay with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The development reportedly caught several members of the Royal Family off guard. King Charles is said to have learned about the decision only days before the news became public.
According to the report, Charles welcomes the opportunity to spend more time with Harry, Meghan and their children privately. However, his position reportedly remains clear: the Sussexes would continue their lives as non-working royals.
A source speaking to Woman's Day claimed William and Kate were "absolutely fuming" after reportedly being blindsided by the announcement. Palace insiders remain surprised by how Harry and Meghan plan to balance their commercial projects while living in Britain. For William, however, the bigger concern reportedly involves what the Sussexes might want from their return.
"William suspects Harry and Meghan actually do think they're going to be accepted back onto the Royal roster," the source claimed. "It may not happen overnight, but William's convinced this is their long game," the source said. Harry has continued to maintain connections with causes linked to his royal background, including humanitarian work and the Invictus Games.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's reported return to Britain has sparked a fresh debate over their relationship with the Royal Family. Commentator Kinsey Schofield is calling the reported move an "admission of failure." The Sussexes reportedly plan to return to the UK for an extended period with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. However, Harry and Meghan themselves have yet to confirm the move publicly.
The reported move marks a major change for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. They left their senior royal roles in 2020 and moved to California. Reports suggest the couple plans to spend more time in Britain. Although they do not plan to move there permanently, their children may attend school in the UK.
The couple is not expected to sell their California home, which would allow them to keep a US base while spending more time in the UK. The Palace has reportedly been informed about their plans. However, the Sussexes will remain private citizens and non-working members of the Royal Family.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six that Harry and Meghan's decision to return surprised her after years of building a life outside Britain. She said the move could show that the couple still values the institution and the connections they once left behind. "A return to Britain is an admission of failure, whether Harry and Meghan are intellectually honest enough to admit it or not," she said.
Schofield added that Harry and Meghan should not expect special treatment when they return to the UK. "You cannot spend years insulting the establishment and then expect everyone to roll out the red carpet when California doesn't work out." She also pointed to the couple's decision to leave the UK. Harry and Meghan said they wanted greater independence and planned to support themselves financially after stepping back from their senior royal roles.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie Ceyair Wright is giving up a rare NFL opportunity in order to chase another dream ahead of the 2026 season.
The former undrafted college football cornerback isn't a stranger to Hollywood after appearing in several films. That includes a prominent role alongside NBA legend LeBron James in the remake of "Space Jam: A New Legacy."

However, Wright's fully prepared to choose acting over the NFL after opting to leave the Bengals this week. The 23-year-old defensive player has spent recent weeks with Cincinnati throughout training camp and the team's first preseason game.
Although, it seems that the former USC Trojans and Nebraska Cornhuskers defensive standout grew up in Los Angeles. That's why his connections to Hollywood continue to run deep after beginning his acting career as a youth.
