"For me, Hazard is the greatest individual player to ever play for Chelsea in terms of talent, though he's third on the overall list behind John Terry and Frank Lampard. ArcBest's second-quarter results showed operational improvements in both of its business segments. It is benefitting from heavier shipment weights on the ***** et-based side of the house while cost initiatives have pushed its logistics offering back into profitability.
ArcBest's (NASDAQ: ARCB) ***** et-based unit, which includes less-than-truckload subsidiary ABF Freight, reported a 10% y/y increase in revenue to $784 million. Tonnage per day was 5% higher as a 3% decline in shipments was more than offset by an 8% increase in weight per shipment.
Tonnage growth on a y/y comparison was fairly steady throughout the quarter—up 6.1% in April, up 4.6% in May and up 4.1% in June. The two-year-stacked comps were up 10%, 11% and 7%, respectively.
Tonnage growth accelerated in July, up 8% y/y (plus-9.3% on a two-year-stacked comp). Management said on a Wednesday call with ***** ysts that tonnage normally declines 4.6% from June to July but is only down 1% this year.
Some freight lost to a depressed truckload market has returned as TL spot rates have climbed. This is driving average shipment weights higher. ArcBest is capturing low-double-digit rate increases on TL shipments.

With training camp here, the excitement for football season is about to ramp up to a fever pitch. For the Dallas Cowboys, it's been an offseason where more noise has come from their roster moves, free agent acquisitions, and draft picks than any off the field drama, which is a welcome change for a team that will begin the regular season 973 days removed from their last playoff game appearance.
That playoff game was the now-infamous 48-32 home loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Cowboys and Packers have met just once since that January game in AT&T Stadium, and it was memorable for a whole other host of reasons, ending in a 40-40 tie on Sunday Night Football last season in week four.
The Cowboys and Packers will meet again on Sunday night primetime this season, at Lambeau Field, this time in week six. As we continue our season preview series, Dallas' division rivals are now all behind us, and our focus will shift to some of the potential toughest games on the schedule against either other rivals or expected playoff contenders at large.
Also for the second year in a row, the Cowboys and Packers early season meeting will be marked by a trade between the two sides involving a pass rusher. Last season, it was Kenny Clark coming over to the Cowboys from the Packers (plus some draft picks) in exchange for Micah Parsons, and this year the Cowboys acquired Rashan Gary after seven seasons with the green and gold. With Parsons still rehabbing from a week 15 ACL tear last season against the Broncos, the Cowboys may not be playing against their own former pass rush star this time around. That's why it was so strange when Coca-Cola introduced a new font that eerily resembled an iconic one straight out of the cigarette world.
"Coke and Marlboro had a baby—and it's a font!," one X user wrote after seeing the company's updated typography. Others echoed the comparison, saying Coca-Cola's refreshed typography looked strikingly similar to Marlboros, in a case of reality imitating memes. Still others wondered whether the company had unintentionally leaned into the internet's "fridge cigarette" joke.

Coca-Cola said the refresh was designed to create "one iconic look" across more than 200 markets by updating its packaging and typography.

NEW DELHI: India's stand-in bowling coach Sunil Joshi has urged everyone to keep the spotlight firmly on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's batting, lavishing praise on the teenage sensation after his record-breaking knock in the opening T20I against Zimbabwe while revealing that the youngster's bowling will be developed gradually at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE).

According to NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, cornerback Jack Jones has quietly become one of the most significant additions of the 49ers' offseason and a legitimate threat to unseat Green as a starter.
"I remember talking to people during the offseason program around the 49ers, and they were of the opinion that Jack Jones was making a big-time push and could end up being a starter ahead of Renardo Green," Maiocco said. "I don't necessarily think will happen. But it could happen. ... "So, having a veteran player like Jack Jones on the roster and lining up and taking reps at the same spot as Renardo Green and Renardo knowing that he's in a battle or he's going to have to fight for his starting job can only help him."
Jones, 28, joins San Francisco after starting all but one game combined over the past two seasons: 16 starts for the Raiders in 2024, then all 17 for the Dolphins in 2025. He's coming off a season with 77 tackles, six passes defensed and an interception in Miami. Green, by comparison, played the entire 2025 season without competition at his spot, finishing with seven passes defensed and no interceptions.
The numbers, per Pro Football Focus, actually favor Jones. He ranked 67th among 114 qualifying cornerbacks in overall defensive grade last season, with a strong run-defense mark that placed him 15th at the position. Green ranked 93rd overall, with a run-defense grade of 65th.
Maiocco also doesn't believe Jones signed to play a backup role.

Donald Trump hosted the World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers at the White House on Thursday for the team's second trip to the White House in two years.
The team gave the president a custom jersey and a World Series championship ring during a ceremony at the Rose Garden. Four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, star first baseman Freddie Freeman, World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto and manager Dave Roberts were among those in attendance, while several players – most notably star shortstop Mookie Betts and utility man Kike Hernández – opted not to attend.

Every July, the Southeastern Conference herds its head coaches into one ballroom and asks each of them, politely, to explain why their corner of the sport deserves belief again this fall. Most arrive with the hedge built in careful qualifiers, a nod to "the process," nothing November could hold against them. Will Stein, thirty-six years old and the owner of a perfect, undefeated, entirely theoretical 0-0 record as a head coach, didn't bother with the hedge.
Asked why the Kentucky Wildcats — five wins last season, four the year before, without a top-50 offense to its name since 2021 — should expect anything different under him, Stein let the question sit in the room a beat longer than comfortable.
"This is going to sound like really... I think because of me, to be honest," he said. "I think it's because of me. I think I know what it takes. I have seen it at the highest levels. I know what it takes to recruit at this level."
It's the kind of answer that gets replayed for one of two reasons: the coach is a fool, or he's right. The comparison in the room was instant: Curt Cignetti, who once told Indiana fans, in essence, to go look him up, then backed it with a national ******* le game and a Heisman winner. Stein doesn't have any of that yet. USA Today is addressing a controversial column by Nancy Armour on Wednesday about Caitlin Clark that invoked murdered Emmett Till—while linking some of Clark's fan base to "white nationalists."
After Armour's column about the Indiana Fever star sparked a firestorm Thursday, Front Office Sports asked USA Today if they stood by her article.
Lark-Marie Anton, chief communications and brand officer for USA Today Co., wrote an email back to FOS stating: "Nancy is a Sports columnist, and her column is clearly labeled Opinion. Please note that the column has been updated for clarity, and Nancy has addressed the matter here (and below). We will not be commenting further."
Anton was referring to Armour's post on Threads Thursday defending her decision to include the 14-year-old Till's racially motivated murder in 1955 in Mississippi. However, Armour wrote she regretted not providing "appropriate context" in her piece.
"In my recent column, I made an inartful comparison with the murder of Emmett Till. I intended to connect the issues the WNBA is currently facing with its All-Star Game being hosted in Till's hometown of Chicago. I obviously did not provide enough context for that," wrote Armour.

Earlier this month, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon pointed to shipbuilding as an example of the modern American Dream: a career where workers can earn six-figure salaries after just a few years of training while helping rebuild a critical piece of U.S. infrastructure. And while on paper, it's an attractive proposition—in practice, it might be a much harder sell.
Shipyard jobs often require long shifts, physically demanding labor, and spending hours outdoors in extreme heat, cold, or rain. Those conditions have contributed to chronic worker shortages that defense leaders say threaten the country's ability to expand naval production.
Attrition rates among shipyard workers have historically ranged from 20% to 22%, Eric Labs, the Congressional Budget Office's senior **** yst for naval forces and weapons, told National Defense last year. In some high-demand skilled trades, turnover can exceed 30%. By comparison, one survey found the average voluntary turnover rate in the U.S. to be 13.0% between 2024 and 2025.
"There is no way to improve the condition of the shipbuilding industrial base with attrition rates that high," Labs said.
Former Navy Secretary John Phelan has argued pay is a main part of the equation—when workers can earn a similar amount without those dangers.

Novo Nordisk (NYSE:NVO) has filed a federal lawsuit against Eli Lilly, alleging that its rival's advertising campaigns for blockbuster GLP-1 obesity and diabetes drugs mislead consumers about the effectiveness of competing treatments.
The complaint, filed on July 21, 2026, in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, challenges nationwide advertisements for Lilly's Zepbound and Mounjaro that Novo claims rely on outdated clinical trial data and create an inaccurate comparison between the companies' medicines.
Novo alleges that Lilly's campaigns compare the highest approved doses of its drugs with lower doses of Novo's treatments, while excluding newer data from higher-dose versions of Wegovy. The company argues that the advertisements give consumers the impression that Lilly's medicines deliver superior weight-loss results, despite newer evidence showing more comparable outcomes at higher doses.
The lawsuit specifically targets advertisements comparing Zepbound's 10 mg and 15 mg doses with Wegovy's earlier 1.7 mg and 2.4 mg doses, while not including data from Wegovy's newer 7.2 mg dose.
