The Indianapolis Colts announced on Friday that the team has signed running back Roydell Williams, who is an undrafted rookie free agent out of Florida State.
The 5'10", 214 pound running back played for both the Alabama Crimson Tide and Florida State Seminoles in his collegiate career. He had 275 total carries for 1,264 total rushing yards (4.6 ypc. avg.) and 13 rushing touchdowns, as well as 28 receptions for 217 total receiving yards and 2 touchdown receptions for both programs collectively.
He was a CFP National Champion for the Crimson Tide in 2020.
Williams was among the offensive skill position players that the Colts reportedly worked out on Thursday.
Per the IndyStar's Nathan Brown, the Colts also worked out running backs Marcus Major and Kenny McIntosh a day later on Friday.

The Vikings' defense has enjoyed the presence of Harrison Smith ever since he was drafted back in 2012. The team enjoys his presence on and off the field, but at 37, some things are just not the same as they used to be. As a result, the unsigned veteran is sitting on the side waiting for something to change or to retire.
Despite the age factor and being unsigned, it isn't lessening the blow of his absence in training camp. Especially for Brian Flores, who is missing his defensive leader.
This week at the start of training camp, he discussed Smith's absence, saying, "I think collectively there's a sense of trying to, you know, bring what he brought to the table from a communication, leadership standpoint. You know, with him being absent or not absent, but not being here. I still haven't gotten over it..."
It still seems very possible that Smith could return after training camp wraps up, or is close enough to being wrapped up. We have seen veterans do this before, but there has been no smoke at all with Harrison Smith, so many people flying blind in this scenario.

On Friday, members of the Oregon women's basketball team filed a petition for union representation with the Oregon Employment Relations Board, marking the latest unionization effort in college sports—and the first based solely on public sector state labor laws.
The effort was led by the United College Athletes **** ociation, a 501(c)(5) labor union founded by former NCAA track athlete Andrew Cooper,which has been working to organize women's basketball specifically since 2024. While this is the first formal move toward unionization, the UCAA says it has more than 100 women's basketball players who have signed "unionization authorization cards."
The UCAA's advisory board includes current and former members of professional sports unions, including NWSLPA executive director Meghann Burke and WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike, as well as former National Labor Relations Board executives.
"We deserve a seat at the table, meaningful protections, fair compensation, and a collective bargaining agreement that raises the standard for everyone," Maryland women's basketball player Oluchi Okananwa, the interim president of the UCAA, said in a statement. "This work is bigger than any one season or generation. We are building lasting power for the athletes competing today and those who will come after us."
The news comes just several days after a separate organization, the College Football Players **** ociation, launched an organizing effort among football players at Stanford. Unlike the UCAA's effort, however, Stanford football players aren't filing for formal union authorization just yet—they're waiting for a more favorable political climate.

You can't keep him away for long! Michael Mauti is set to join Penn State's staff under Matt Campbell as Director of Football Engagement. The Penn State athletics website already reflects the change, showing this had likely been in the works for some time.
Mauti, a former All-American, has been a vocal advocate of the Nittany Lions since graduation and well before, having been one of the biggest reasons the 2012 team stayed together. Since, he's been involved in an "unofficial" capacity, having been involved in the early NIL world. He helped Lions Legacy Club, now Happy Valley United, which is Penn State's primary NIL collective.
Although this is the official ****** le, Mauti was already involved through the Nittany Lion Club, where he served as ****** ociate director of development. His transition into the new role now puts him in between the players and key boosters, as well as the Penn State Football Letterman's Club.

This insight led to the founding of Swang, a Los Angeles-based golf collective co-founded by Oyewole and Josh Hubberman, a creative strategist at Cthdrl. What began as an informal group of 15 at a local driving range has grown rapidly to more than 1,200 active members and hosted over 50 events in its first year. The Las Vegas Aces will be looking to run it back as defending champs with the reigning MVP, A'ja Wilson, leading the way. Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. The Liberty, who were also bitten by the injury bug last season, already have Sabrina Ionesco on the sidelines after she rolled her ankle in a preseason game against the Connecticut Sun.
The Atlanta Dream also made the trade of the offseason, getting Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky to add to a roster which won 30 games last season.

Grant Thornton Advisors announced Wednesday it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CBIZ, Inc. (NYSE: CBZ) in an all-cash deal with an enterprise value of $5 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, each CBIZ shareholder stands to collect $55 per share — a figure the company said reflects roughly a 54% premium over CBIZ's 30-day volume-weighted average share price. Reuters added that the offer price also represents a 17.8% premium over CBIZ's most recent closing price.
Upon closing, Grant Thornton in the U.S. is expected to become the fifth-largest provider of professional services, tax and advisory services, with more than $5 billion in annual domestic revenue, the company said. The transaction represents the largest of its kind in more than 25 years. Together, the two firms would operate across more than 20 countries and territories, bring in close to $7.5 billion in annual revenue, and have a workforce of more than 34,500 professionals.
Reuters noted that Deloitte, EY, KPMG and PwC — collectively known as the Big Four — hold dominant positions in the U.S. accounting market.
New Mountain Capital, which led a May 2024 investment in Grant Thornton Advisors, will make an additional equity investment to support the transaction. After the deal closes, Grant Thornton Advisors plans to separate CBIZ's benefits and insurance services segment into a new stand-alone entity backed by New Mountain Capital.

NEW DELHI: The decision to name 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as East Zone vice-captain for the upcoming Duleep Trophy has raised eyebrows across the cricketing world, but the selectors believe they are investing in the future of Indian cricket.
With experienced wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan appointed captain, Sooryavanshi's elevation as deputy is not being viewed as an immediate leadership burden but as an opportunity to accelerate his development as a cricketer.
One member of the East Zone selection committee explained the thinking behind the move, saying the teenager was not being handed the captaincy but was being prepared for greater responsibilities in the future.
"He has not been made the captain. He has only been made the vice-captain. The captain is Ishan Kishan. Besides, Ishan is a wicketkeeper, so he will be actively involved throughout the day. It is not as though Vaibhav will be captaining the team all day. As he grows, he is maturing day by day. Giving him more responsibility will help him mature even further," former Odisha Ranji player and selector Pravanjan Mullick told Cricbuzz.
Mullick revealed that the selectors' decision was based on Sooryavanshi's rapid rise and his ability to handle responsibility despite his age.
"This is a great opportunity for him to take on the responsibility of being vice-captain in the Duleep Trophy. He wants to do well for the country, and we believe giving young players responsibility is important. Who knows? We are keeping our fingers crossed that one day he could even become India's captain. That is the thought behind giving him the vice-captaincy," he told Cricbuzz.
The selectors also considered Sooryavanshi's previous leadership experience. The teenage batter has already served as vice-captain of Bihar in first-class cricket and was part of India's leadership group during the Under-19 World Cup triumph.
"He has been doing very well for the country and also had an excellent IPL season with Rajasthan Royals. He is also the vice-captain of Bihar in first-class cricket," Mullick said.
The 15-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year. He became one of the youngest players to feature in the IPL and went on to top the batting charts during the tournament, earning widespread praise for his fearless approach. He was also named Player of the Series during India's tour of Zimbabwe.
The East Zone selection committee meeting was held at Eden Gardens, with representatives from the Cricket ***** ociation of Bengal, Jharkhand State Cricket ***** ociation, Tripura Cricket ***** ociation, Bihar Cricket ***** ociation and Odisha Cricket ***** ociation taking part.
Mullick clarified that there was no discussion with Sooryavanshi before the decision was made.
"No, none at all. It was a collective decision taken by all the selectors from the eastern states. He has the ability to handle responsibility and is capable of leading the team when required," he said.

One member of the East Zone selection committee explained the thinking behind the move, saying the teenager was not being handed the captaincy but was being prepared for greater responsibilities in the future.
"He has not been made the captain. He has only been made the vice-captain. The captain is Ishan Kishan. Besides, Ishan is a wicketkeeper, so he will be actively involved throughout the day. It is not as though Vaibhav will be captaining the team all day. As he grows, he is maturing day by day. Giving him more responsibility will help him mature even further," former Odisha Ranji player and selector Pravanjan Mullick told Cricbuzz.
Mullick revealed that the selectors' decision was based on Sooryavanshi's rapid rise and his ability to handle responsibility despite his age.
"This is a great opportunity for him to take on the responsibility of being vice-captain in the Duleep Trophy. He wants to do well for the country, and we believe giving young players responsibility is important. Who knows? We are keeping our fingers crossed that one day he could even become India's captain. That is the thought behind giving him the vice-captaincy," he told Cricbuzz.
The selectors also considered Sooryavanshi's previous leadership experience. The teenage batter has already served as vice-captain of Bihar in first-class cricket and was part of India's leadership group during the Under-19 World Cup triumph.
"He has been doing very well for the country and also had an excellent IPL season with Rajasthan Royals. He is also the vice-captain of Bihar in first-class cricket," Mullick said.
The 15-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the last year. He became one of the youngest players to feature in the IPL and went on to top the batting charts during the tournament, earning widespread praise for his fearless approach. He was also named Player of the Series during India's tour of Zimbabwe.
The East Zone selection committee meeting was held at Eden Gardens, with representatives from the Cricket ***** ociation of Bengal, Jharkhand State Cricket ***** ociation, Tripura Cricket ***** ociation, Bihar Cricket ***** ociation and Odisha Cricket ***** ociation taking part.
Mullick clarified that there was no discussion with Sooryavanshi before the decision was made.

Every major European national soccer team threatened Thursday to collectively boycott competitions organized by global soccer's nonprofit governing body FIFA over plans by the federation to sell off a minority stake in the World Cup tournament to private investors.
A source close to Joshua Kushner's company, Thrive Capital, dismissed criticism over the firm's involvement in the controversial FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) investment plan to CBS News on Thursday, hours before UEFA, the European soccer federation, announced its boycott.
Kushner is the younger brother of Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law. FIFA president Gianni Infantino's close relationship with Mr. Trump drew scrutiny throughout this summer's World Cup, which was hosted jointly by the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
"I think the first ****** umption is that Trump was involved in FFE in any capacity, which is just not accurate," the source told CBS News on Thursday. "Josh himself does not have any links with the administration, he does not have any political roles, he has not donated to them, he is not involved in any capacity. The biggest companies leading the artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out have said they expect hundreds of billions of dollars in capital expenditures through 2026. That trend is only set to accelerate and will be funded increasingly with debt, according to Goldman Sachs.
"While the exact magnitude and mix of future debt issuance from the hyperscalers is uncertain, our review of management commentary leaves us expecting a growing role for debt financing in the AI buildout in the years ahead," credit strategists led by Amanda Lynam said in a research note this week.
A hyperscaler is a large tech company that builds and operates massive data center infrastructure for computing, storage, and AI processing.
Over the past year and a half, capital expenditures from the leading hyperscalers — Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Alphabet (GOOG), Amazon (AMZN), and Oracle (ORCL) — have boomed, as those companies have entered into an arms race focused on the build-out of vast infrastructure underpinning AI development.
In 2025, the companies collectively reported $405 billion in capex. By year end for 2026, that figure is expected to reach $750 billion, per Goldman Sachs, before nearing $1.2 trillion in 2027.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin appeals court on Wednesday restored a 2011 anti-union law that abolished collective bargaining rights, in a setback for unions and public workers. Unions are expected to appeal, sending the case to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, which is controlled by liberal justices.
The 2024 ruling striking down the law as unconstitutional had been on hold pending appeal, so Wednesday's reversal does not change the status quo. The law remains in effect, as it has been the past 15 years, as the legal fight continues.
Enactment of a 2011 anti-union state law, championed by Republicans, sparked weeks of protests and made Wisconsin the center of a national battle over union rights.
That law, known as Act 10, effectively ended most public employees′ ability to bargain for wage increases and other issues, and forced them to pay more for health insurance and retirement benefits.

Lots of other contenders hope to have something to say about that including the Atlanta Dream, New York Liberty and Indiana Fever. The Fever, who were without floor leader Caitlin Clark for much of last season, are fully healthy. The Liberty, who were also bitten by the injury bug last season, already have Sabrina Ionesco on the sidelines after she rolled her ankle in a preseason game against the Connecticut Sun.
The Atlanta Dream also made the trade of the offseason, getting Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky to add to a roster which won 30 games last season.

When it comes to measuring a college football fan's dedication, ranging from attending every home and most away games, spending substantial amounts of money on merchandise, or, in today's NIL-driven landscape, donating money to a program's collective to help fund recruiting efforts and land top transfer portal additions, has become the effective form of support.
On Monday, Message Board Geniuses released its top-10 "Most loyal college football fanbases" with Nebraska coming in at No. 1, followed by Texas A&M at No. 2, which makes perfect sense given both programs' struggle to match their success in the 1990's, especially the Cornhuskers, who dominated with three national championships in 1994, 1995, and 1997 under legendary head coach Tom Osborne.
Texas A&M came close to competing for a national **** le multiple times under former coach R. C. Slocum, who finished his A&M coaching career 123-47-2, including three Southwest Conference **** les and one Big 12 Championship during the 1998 season. Since then, Texas A&M has undergone five coaching changes, and Mike Elko will enter his third season at the helm after leading the Aggies to the College Football Playoff last season.
Texas A&M alums gleefully greet one another with "Gig 'em" or "Howdy!" and will stand throughout every home game in Kyle Field, no matter the team's record. At its peak, the chain had approximately 140 standalone and Brewers Fayre brewery-attached locations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. But amid soaring operating costs the hotel and dining company Whitbread confirmed plans to shutter all remaining 106 restaurants by September.

If you're an investor in international stocks, you can thank Asia for powering your outperformance this year.
The Vanguard Total International Stock ETF (VXUS) is outpacing the Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) for a second straight year, gaining 12% versus 10%. That follows an even bigger gap last year, when VXUS trounced its domestic counterpart 32.4% to 17.1%.
Last year's rally was fairly broad based. This year's gains are far more concentrated. More than 8 percentage points of VXUS's return, roughly two thirds of the total, traces back to the Asia Pacific region. Taiwan alone accounts for 3.3 percentage points, South Korea 2.7, and ******* an 2.2.
The common thread is artificial intelligence. All three markets sit at the heart of the semiconductor supply chain powering the AI boom. Taiwan is home to TSMC, the contract manufacturer building the most advanced AI chips. South Korea's Samsung and SK Hynix dominate the high-bandwidth memory those chips depend on. And ******* an supplies a big chunk of the equipment and materials that make chip production possible.
No other single country added more than 1 percentage point to VXUS's return. The only other region to clear that bar was Western Europe, which collectively contributed 3.3 percentage points.

Commodity traders are having the rug pulled out from under one of their biggest paydays yet as refiners start bypassing oil and traders and buying Venezuelan crude directly, according to Reuters. Refiners and major oil-producing firms are rapidly gaining market share in Venezuelan crude by locking in direct supply contracts with state-run Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. (PDVSA), bypassing the global middlemen and commodity trading houses such as Trafigura and Vitol that previously dominated the ***** e.
Six months after traders reopened Venezuela's oil market, Phillips 66 (NYSE:PSX) and India's Reliance Industries have already signed direct supply agreements, with Valero (NYSE:VLO) and Thailand's Tipco expected to follow.
Previously, Vitol and Trafigura enjoyed first-mover advantage, managing to become dominant in Venezuelan crude marketing because of their exclusive U.S. government licenses, pre-existing logistical infrastructure and historical ties to PDVSA. Following major political shifts in Venezuela in January, the U.S. administration brokered a deal to manage and sell the country's oil. The U.S. Department of the Treasury issued special, long-term licenses specifically to Vitol and Trafigura until June 2027, effectively giving the traders a temporary monopoly. The pair collectively moved more than 100 million barrels of crude over a six-month period while other global firms remained legally locked out.
Their unmatched logistics also gave them a clear upper hand. After all, global trading houses have the fleet capacity and global reach to quickly deploy tankers and reroute large volumes of crude. They could absorb massive storage and shipping costs in a difficult market, using floating storage facilities in places like Malaysia to break up bulk shipments. When the ongoing war in Iran disrupted Middle Eastern supply chains, Vitol and Trafigura quickly diverted heavy Venezuelan grades like Merey 16 to major Asian refining hubs in India, South Korea, and Malaysia at narrower discounts.
