To the credit of the Raiders though, they made a multitude of moves that gave them the veteran and youthful talent that they need on the offensive line, at quarterback, running back and on defense for next season.

The Seattle Seahawks have a lot going for them as the 2026 NFL season creeps closer.
Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox labeled the Seahawks' defensive line as the team's biggest strength prior to the start of this year's preseason.
"The Seahawks were regularly able to pressure opposing quarterbacks despite blitzing just 19.3 percent of the time, the seventh-lowest rate in the NFL," Knox said. Pfizer's revenue and earnings have declined over the past five years, while it has maintained and even increased its dividend. The company's payout ratio has soared as a result -- it is currently about 127%. That looks unsustainable. But Pfizer's cash payout ratio, a much better measure of whether the company can maintain its dividend program intact, looks less scary at 107.7%. Management is confident of the company's ability to sustain, and even increase, the payout moving forward. That isn't just wishful thinking: Pfizer could improve its business in the coming years and eventually post much stronger financial results.
Consider that Pfizer boasts highly promising programs in the pipeline that will yield brand-new approvals and label expansions. For instance, the company's Padcev is a cancer medicine that is currently one of its better-performing products. On July 10, Padcev earned approval for the treatment of muscle-invasive bladder cancer in combination with Merck's (NYSE: MRK) Keytruda. Padcev was granted the green light regardless of whether patients are eligible for Cisplatin, a chemotherapy drug for bladder cancer that is effective but comes with significant side effects. That's a big deal since many drugs for bladder cancer (including Padcev, initially) aren't approved regardless of Cisplatin eligibility.

While announcing the game in the press box, Angelo also served as a DJ, playing digital music tracks via computerized software. At this year's team banquet, coach Brandon Phipps praised current announcer Cory Latham for his work in providing "a true entertainment event along with announcing the baseball game, like you expect from a big-time venue."
Fast forward 13 years, and the venue doesn't get any bigger than where Angelo worked for more than five weeks this summer at the Houston venue for seven FIFA World Cup matches. Angelo was hired by FIFA as stadium entertainment technical operations manager at the home of the NFL Houston Texans (labeled Houston Stadium by FIFA's non-sponsor policy, but officially now NRG Stadium after several years as Reliant Stadium.)
"This was the largest sports event ever," Angelo said, "when you consider it was held in 16 stadiums across three countries (United States, Mexico and Canada), with 48 teams playing a total of 104 matches over 39 days (June 11 to July 19). It's even a larger scale than the Olympics, when you consider the number of fans traveling for this international sports event. And, it turned out to be a successful event. The cities did a great job as hosts."
For perspective, the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain averaged 66.4 million television viewers in the U.S. on Fox and Telemundo combined. Other than Super Bowls, this is the largest sports audience since the 1994 Winter Olympics (skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan).

The Patriots put three players on injury lists earlier this week and head coach Mike Vrabel said that a fourth will be joining them.
Vrabel said at his Friday press conference that safety/special teamer Brenden Schooler will go on the non-football injury list to open training camp. Vrabel did not share the nature of the issue that Schooler is dealing with, but said "he may be away for a little bit or out for a little bit."
Schooler had 19 tackles in the 2025 regular season and added six more in the playoffs. He was an All-Pro for his special teams work in 2024.

In the wake of the Patriots' June 1 trade for receiver A.J. Brown, Mike Vrabel was asked about his new weapon's cost.
More specifically, Vrabel was asked on June 2 if he viewed the trade of a 2028 first-round pick for a three-time Pro Bowl receiver as a "win-now move" given the sacrifice of future ******* ets. (The Patriots also sent the Philadelphia Eagles a 2027 fifth.)
Vrabel zoomed out to answer the question.
"We have to win," he said. "That's our job, to win. It's a job and responsibility, and the expectation in the National Football League.
"It's not to go 4-13 two years in a row, if that's what you mean."

A fund's label tells you the category, but rarely reveals the concentrated bets you are actually making inside.
The State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) holds 76 stocks, but in practice, it behaves like a much smaller portfolio of about 18 equally weighted holdings. For an investor who bought the fund for broad exposure to the technology sector, that number can be a small jolt. XLK is designed to give investors access to companies in the information technology ***** e, tracking the performance of the Technology Select Sector Index.
But as with any index fund, the name on the box only tells you the category. The real story is in the shape of the portfolio inside, where the weight is actually concentrated.
How Few Companies Carry The Weight?
This is not a fund where every holding pulls equal weight. The ten largest holdings in XLK make up 60% of the entire fund. In fact, just its five largest holdings account for 44% of its ***** ets. The single largest position, Nvidia, represents 13.9% of the fund on its own. It is followed by other well-known names like Apple at 12.5% and Microsoft at 7.8%. This means the fund's performance is significantly influenced by the fortunes of a handful of the largest technology companies.

A woman wanted in a murder case has spent weeks slipping through law enforcement's grasp, with investigators alleging a string of suspected accomplices helped keep her hidden while she remains on the run.
Isabelle Rose Johnson, 38, is wanted on charges in the killing of Jason Christopher Coulthart. A warrant for her arrest was issued on June 26, and she has been dodging detectives ever since.
The Walton County Sheriff's Office said Johnson, who is a "cunning master manipulator," has been relying on the help of others to stay incognito. Five people have been arrested in connection to the murder investigation.

USA Today is addressing a controversial column by Nancy Armour on Wednesday about Caitlin Clark that invoked murdered Emmett Till—while linking some of Clark's fan base to "white nationalists."
After Armour's column about the Indiana Fever star sparked a firestorm Thursday, Front Office Sports asked USA Today if they stood by her article.
Lark-Marie Anton, chief communications and brand officer for USA Today Co., wrote an email back to FOS stating: "Nancy is a Sports columnist, and her column is clearly labeled Opinion. Please note that the column has been updated for clarity, and Nancy has addressed the matter here (and below). We will not be commenting further."
Anton was referring to Armour's post on Threads Thursday defending her decision to include the 14-year-old Till's racially motivated murder in 1955 in Mississippi. However, Armour wrote she regretted not providing "appropriate context" in her piece.
"In my recent column, I made an inartful comparison with the murder of Emmett Till. I intended to connect the issues the WNBA is currently facing with its All-Star Game being hosted in Till's hometown of Chicago. I obviously did not provide enough context for that," wrote Armour.
