For the first time, Block will open its Cash App Score for external lenders by collaborating with Nova Credit's Cash Flow Intelligence Platform.

Cash App Score was previously limited to internal use by the company for its consumer lending offerings such as the Cash App Borrow. This latest development could pave way for the monetization of company's data infrastructure, resulting in an additional revenue source.
During the second quarter, Block exceeded its prior guidance, reporting $3.17 billion in gross profit and $864 million in adjusted operating income. Revenue reached $6.62 billion, up 9.3% year over year. Gross profit expanded by 25% relative to the same period last year, and the company posted record 27% adjusted operating margins. Adjusted EPS clocked in at $1.02, exhibiting year-over-year growth of 65%.
Block's impressive second quarter print was driven by strong consumer spending, along with Cash App gross profit expansion of 31% year-over-year increase. This can be attributed to significant expansion in consumer lending, driven by Cash App Borrow. Block said Financial Solutions gross profit growth was driven primarily by Cash App Borrow. It reflects favorably on broader user engagement, who are utilizing Cash App for short-term credit financing instead of just a savings or payment mechanism. Despite a nominal 3% growth in monthly transacting actives, volumetric growth within Cash App was impressive. There was a 59% year-over-year jump in Cash App Consumer Lending origination volume, and 17% increase in Cash App Commerce Enablement volume.

With Texas football quarterback Arch Manning and the team preparing for Ohio State on Saturday night in a big-time matchup, the hope is not to replicate the deficiencies from last year's game between the two, where the Longhorns lost, 14-7. As it was a rough first matchup for Manning and the Texas football program, head coach Steve Sarkisian would set the record straight on a narrative coming out of the game.
In the opening contest last season, the Longhorns would be bested by the Buckeyes in every aspect of the game, mostly on the offensive side of the ball, holding Manning to 170 yards and one touchdown. However, Sarkisian would make sure to remind people that they rushed "really well," recording 166 yards on the ground then, rather than the "egg" some people might've thought.
"I felt like last year, unbeknownst to probably more of the national media, we ran the ball really well, I think people think we just went out there and laid an egg and had minus ten yards rushing or something," Sarkisian said Monday, via 247 Sports.

What is going on with the NFL and Antarctica? Earlier today The Athletic published an interview with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf. In the interview it was revealed that Metcalf believed a conspiracy theory that "there is another civilization inside the Earth," and it has something to do with Antarctica.
Not long after that, San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw took the podium in Australia ahead of his team's game against the Los Angeles Rams. One reporter asked Greenlaw if he had any questions for Australians and he started asking his own questions about Antarctica.

"I mean it's just interesting being in another country. I mean how far are we from Antarctica? That's what I gotta ask. So we're like right on top of, huh? Like, does it snow. It snows probably pretty bad."
When Greenlaw was told its not as bad as Antarctica, he asked if the country was "a lie." He followed that by asking if anyone had been to Antarctica. When no one had, he asked how they knew it was cold and walked off.

The Boston Red Sox have bounced back from a bad start and look likely to make the MLB postseason. With a strong pitching staff in the rotation and bullpen, plus a resurgent offense, this team can go very far.
But it's not just those phases of the game where the Red Sox have thrived. Boston has also gotten plenty of great value from their defense. More specifically, from a few select defenders, one of which being center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela.
Unfortunately, he recently hit the injured list for the Red Sox and will miss some time. However, that shouldn't stop him from winning an MLB award. As MLB.com's Jared Greenspan, Brian Murphy, and Jason Foster predict, Rafaela should be the AL's Gold Glove-winning center fielder.
"When healthy, there's no one better at that spot in the junior circuit. Rafaela, a first-time Gold Glove Award winner last season, has made the most five-star catches of any player in the Majors (nine)," the MLB.com trio write.

Pittsburgh Steelers star receiver DK Metcalf was at home when he saw his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, reach the mountaintop after beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 60.
Metcalf represented the Seahawks for six seasons, standing out as their top receiver. He put together three 1,000-yard seasons, helping them make the playoffs three times.
His time there ended after Seattle sent him to Pittsburgh in exchange for draft compensation during the 2025 offseason. This allowed him to team up with quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but it paved the way for Seattle to win its second Super Bowl in franchise history.
Metcalf reflected on the events that offseason during an interview with The Athletic. According to reporter Jonathan Jones, "Metcalf has no regrets about asking a trade out of Seattle. The Seahawks listened partly because they knew a major Jaxon Smith-Njigba payday could arrive soon."
"I live with my decisions every day… they're very well thought-out decisions to where I know the consequences, know my benefits from every decision that I make," Metcalf says. Christian Mahogany and Ben Bartch will split reps at left guard in practice for the Detroit Lions this week and the team could use both players in their season opener Sunday, Sept. 13, against the New Orleans Saints, Lions coach Dan Campbell said.
"Yeah, we could," Campbell said. "[Tuesday] they're going to split. I see them splitting on Thursday, I see them splitting on Friday, and then if nothing's been decided by then, then maybe they both play."
Mahogany started 11 games at left guard for the Lions last season and handled most of the first-team reps at the position this summer, while Bartch was recovering from injuries.
Bartch underwent Lisfranc surgery last year while playing for the San Francisco 49ers and missed time with a concussion in training camp.
Campbell praised Bartch's play in camp but said Aug. 20 he did not think there was enough time for Bartch to win the starting job. The Lions signed Bartch this offseason with thoughts of having an open competition at left guard.

I hope you all had a nice Labor Day holiday! The Twins did not, dropping the first game of a three-game series to the Tigers in Joe Ryan's return from the injured list. In the previous week, the team went overall 3-3, taking a series 2-1 against the Tigers and then dropping a series 1-2 to the White Sox. They are now 8 games below .500, and 4.5 games outside of the final wild card spot. While there's a chance, it's growing more slim to play October baseball and frankly, their playoff chances are not completely in their own hands. So let's just try to enjoy this last month of baseball!

Elena Rybakina is one win away from the world number one ranking, but the Kazakh star says her main goal in her US Open quarter-final clash with Zheng Qinwen on Wednesday is to advance toward a third Grand Slam ******* le.
"Number one ranking is, of course, one of the goals," Rybakina says. "But I think the main focus for me is to win the ******* les, and then the ranking will follow up."
Rybakina arrived at Flushing Meadows as one of four women with a chance to supplant Aryna Sabalenka atop the rankings, and the only one with her fate in her own hands. Reaching the semis will send her to the summit for the first time, and she could even get there if she loses -- if Sabalenka, world number three Jessica Pegula and fourth-ranked Coco Gauff all fail to lift the trophy.
Rybakina, who has shown no sign of the foot injury that hindered her US Open preparations, will be out to halt the remarkable run of Zheng -- the Paris Olympics gold medallist who had to come through qualifying thanks to a rankings plunge in the wake of elbow surgery last year.
Gauff, in the quarters for the first time since she won the US Open ******* le in 2023, will take on fifth-seeded French Open champion Mirra Andreeva for a place in the semis while men's top seed Alexander Zverev faces Dutch veteran Botic van de Zandschulp.

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak addressed the media, where he spoke about what's going on at left guard. Kubiak acknowledged the "very difficult challenge" it takes to prepare for Aaron Donald and Myles Garrett, but said the players on the other side of the ball won't determine which player plays:
"I don't think so. I think you play who you feel most comfortable with. I think I said this a few weeks ago, though; it's like, when you look at guard, there's never any reason why guys can't rotate as well. I mean, multiple guys can play in the game, and we'll see how the game goes with who we start and kind of how we want to do the rotation.
But you've got to get a feel for how the game's going and how guys are handling stuff. So, nothing's settled, nothing's determined right now. It's not going to be based on experience necessarily. We're going to go with who we think should start based on who's had the best camp and kind of where they're at, and see how the game goes."
Kubiak said he didn't know if the 49ers would rotate players during the game, saying, "We're going to have multiple guys up and multiple guys ready to go. So, whether they rotate or not, that'll be determined as the game goes."
The options include Carver Willis, Connor Colby, and maybe Jarrett Patterson. Realistically, Patterson is Jake Brendel's backup, and Colby rotates if Willis looks like he's being overwhelmed.

This week's Irish Open marks the start of a strong slate of DP World Tour events that will see a large contingent of international LIV Golf players mix with some of their notable PGA Tour peers as the former await clarity on their league's future.
Jon Rahm will tee it up in Ireland alongside fellow LIV members Tyrrell Hatton, Joaquin Niemann, Sergio Garcia, Adrian Meronk, David Puig, Tom McKibbin, and Thomas Detry. PGA Tour players in the field include defending Irish Open champion Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Shane Lowry, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Patrick Reed, who has recently completed his one-year suspension from the PGA Tour for joining LIV in 2022.
Many of those LIV and PGA Tour players will also compete at next week's BMW PGA Championship, which is part of the DP World Tour's elevated Rolex Series and has a $9 million purse. The Irish Open, which begins Thursday, has a $6 million purse but still offers a key opportunity for LIV players to earn Official World Golf Ranking points as they remain banned from the PGA Tour amid LIV's uncertain future heading into 2027. The league laid off most of its staff last week and is still working on finalizing a new funding deal with BC Partners Credit, following the Saudi PIF's exit.
Rahm told BBC Sports on Tuesday that "time will tell" what happens regarding his playing future as he is "more than willing to fulfill" his LIV contract that has multiple years remaining reportedly still worth more than $100 million. PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp said last month that there are "no current plans" for another Returning Member Program like the one that brought Koepka back to the Tour in January—and was also available to Rahm and fellow LIV stars Bryson Dechambeau and Cam Smith.
While the DP World Tour will continue to provide vital playing opportunities for LIV players this fall, things could change next year. Nine LIV players, including Rahm, were granted conditional releases for the 2026 season that allowed them to retain the DP World Tour membership despite competing in some conflicting LIV events. But it is "highly unlikely" that those same conditional releases will be available in 2027, sources have previously told Front Office Sports.

Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: $BMNR) added another 28,086 Ether (CRYPTO: $ETH) to its holdings last week, bringing the company closer to its goal of controlling 5% of Ethereum's total supply.
The purchase, worth about $69.4 million at Tuesday's price of roughly $2,472 per ETH, lifted Bitmine's holdings to 5.93 million ETH, the company announced Tuesday. That represents about 4.9% of Ethereum's 122 million circulating supply, leaving the company around 171,000 ETH short of its target.
Bitmine has purchased Ether every week since launching its Ethereum treasury strategy in June 2025. The latest acquisition was smaller than the 53,501 ETH bought the previous week. Still, maintaining this pace would put the company within reach of its 5% goal in less than two months.

India continue to make their presence felt at the top of the Women's T20I bowling rankings, with Sree Charani holding on to the No. 1 spot and Deepti Sharma making a two-place jump to sixth following her strong showing at the Asia Cup 2026.

Deepti has been one of India's standout performers in the tournament, claiming eight wickets in three matches as the team booked its place in the semi-finals.
The right-arm spinner's consistent performances have earned her a significant rise in the latest rankings. Deepti, who had previously reached the top spot in December last year, is now within 60 rating points of Charani. Sophie Ecclestone, Charlie Dean, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Lauren Bell are the four bowlers positioned between the two Indian stars.

With Charani and Deepti occupying the top two positions, India continues to dominate the upper reaches of the T20I bowling rankings.
Several players also made significant gains in the latest T20I rankings after their performances at the Asia Cup. Bangladesh's Marufa Akter was among the biggest movers, climbing 19 places to 18th in the bowling rankings. Chamari Athapaththu moved up five spots to 28th, while Sultana Khatun gained nine places to share 37th.

Thailand's Thipatcha Putthawong rose four places to 47th, while teammate Suleeporn Laomi jumped 10 spots to 53rd. There were also gains among Bangladesh's batters, with Sobhana Mostary moving up three places to 36th and Dilara Akter climbing five spots to 62nd.
The latest ODI rankings also saw notable movement following England's home series against Ireland. Stand-in England captain Charlie Dean moved up one place to jointly occupy ninth in the ODI all-rounders' rankings. She also climbed two spots to share 11th among ODI bowlers after taking three wickets in the three-match series.

England's Lauren Filer made an impressive 14-place jump to 39th, while Ireland's Cara Murray rose 16 places to 50th in the ODI bowling rankings.

Ireland youngster Amy Hunter emerged as the biggest winner among ODI batters, moving up nine places to 11th. England's Maia Bouchier climbed 13 spots to 42nd, while Sophia Dunkley made an even bigger leap of 26 places to reach 43rd.

With training camp fast approaching, several Central Division teams still have a few questions to answer. Jalen Duren's contract situation is still unresolved in Detroit; Victor Oladipo has been seen as an option for the Chicago Bulls, and the Pistons are even connected to Michael Porter Jr. as a potential future trade target.
The biggest storyline ongoing is Duren's restricted free agency, but there appears to be a little more optimism about that agreement. The Athletic's Sam Amick reported that the financial difference between Duren and the Pistons isn't as big as it was previously believed.
"I mean, as far as the state of affairs, I don't know which way it's going to go. There is a gap. It's not as big as I thought it was before having a few recent conversations. It seems like there's, you know, there's a window here to get something done and put him back in a Pistons jersey."
"I think what's interesting is, like, the QO (qualifying offer) has become such a nuclear option for players and also for teams that it's fair to wonder, like, 'Man, if they can't completely bridge that gap, how do both sides feel about the QO?'" Amick continued. "Because, even from a human standpoint, we, as you guys know, haven't seen a lot of people successfully take that route."
Duren has been seeking more than $40 million a year, and the Pistons have been around $35 million per season. ESPN's Tim MacMahon recently put the Pistons' offer in the ballpark of $180 million over five years. The alternative is Duren accepting the $9.6 million qualifying offer and becoming an unrestricted free agent next season. This has been described as a nuclear option because of the risk it carries for both sides. The Kings do remain an interested party in a sign-and-trade possibility, or even a potential 2027 destination, because they can create the most max cap ******* e then, but the Pistons have reportedly had no interest in a sign-and-trade as of now.

Detroit is still without a permanent general manager, and training camp opens Sept. 17. Shawn Horcoff is running day-to-day operations on an interim basis, with one significant restriction: he cannot make trades. Chris Ilitch has brought in an outside search firm, and the list of outside names has already been trimmed.
Most of the attention has gone to the candidates coming from other organizations. But three of the most credible Red Wings GM candidates already work in the building, and the Wings need to at least consider looking at them.
Steve Yzerman's tenure in Detroit was less than fruitful; fans and ******* ysts both tried to stay faithful to the so-called "Yzerplan." Yzerman stepped down on July 15 after seven seasons that produced zero playoff berths, and he remains with the organization as a senior adviser to Ilitch rather than having been fired outright. During his tenure there seemed to be no urgency to help the team make it back to the playoffs, even though they were within range the past three seasons.
Now, this is not the complete fault of Yzerman, as he was handcuffed by Chris Ilitch. Reports have come out that Yzerman needed approval from Ilitch on certain deals, more specifically signing Steven Stamkos as a free agent, just to see him put up productive seasons — 69 goals across two campaigns for the Nashville Predators, 27 in his first year and 42 in his second.
Yzerman's highlights of acquisitions for the team are trading for Alex DeBrincat and signing Patrick Kane coming off hip surgery. He also had his fair share of misses, such as Andrew Copp ($5.625 AAV/5 years), J.T. Compher ($5.100 AAV/5 years), Michael Rasmussen ($3.200 AAV/4 years), Vladimir Tarasenko ($4.750 AAV/2 years), and the list can go on. He made poor contract extensions and signed aging superstars to try and get any juice that they had left.

The Browns and their fan base have not been on the same page when it comes to the team's starting quarterback.
Before Watson was officially named QB1, he was booed when he appeared and played poorly during the team's second preseason game last month. That set Watson off, with the quarterback saying fans were being "disrespectful," and the reaction had nothing to do with his performance.
Head coach Todd Monken has maintained that everyone will be fine if the Browns are playing winning football. But he admitted in an interview with 92.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning that after the second preseason game, there was some question about Watson's confidence and ability to play if he's not supported.
"I mean, after that game — I'll just say during the game and then after the game, certainly Deshaun was not in a great headspace. Let's be real honest about it," Monken told hosts Ken Carman and Anthony Lima. "He said it after the game, he was frustrated, and didn't particularly play well. And we don't coach well and call it well around him. So, we certainly all have to own that.
"I looked at it more along the lines of a speed ****** p and just a blip on the radar more than the norm of what I had seen over the course of the five months being here, in terms of his confidence, how hard he's worked to get back to where he's at today. And he did, he came to me right after that, him and I had a good conversation, and he said, 'I'm not sure I handled that the right way. But I did have things that were on my heart.' And I asked him, I said, 'Do you feel like you've gotten rid of it?' Because it's one thing to say it. It's another thing to really believe it, that OK, I needed to get this off my chest, it's over, I just want to go out there and play great football. I've worked awfully hard to get back."

Mike Tomlin will be on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" broadcasts this season. It is the first time this century that Tomlin won't spend football season with an NFL team. Tomlin chose to walk away from the Pittsburgh Steelers at the end of last season after 19 years as the team's head coach.
Tomlin appears to be having fun so far, but the real question is whether or not he'll stick with media long term or if he's just taking a break before taking another job. There was no shortage of suitors when he stepped down in Pittsburgh and at 54-years old with a Super Bowl and zero losing seasons on his resume, he remains an attractive candidate for any vacancy.
Cris Collinsworth, Tomlin's new co-worker at NBC, recently asked him if there was a chance he would return to coaching at some point. Tomlin sounded like someone who still wanted to coach, but he also isn't in a hurry.

Queen Máxima of the Netherlands didn't just show up at a cattle farm in Veenhuizen this week — she turned it into a runway. Joining King Willem-Alexander for a visit to a dairy operation in the province of Drenthe, Máxima swapped her usual ****** nal of bold colors, oversized volumes and unexpected jewelry for something different: a distinctly autumnal palette. The effect landed somewhere between countryside and cinema — a queen in brown and burgundy, topped with a dramatically tilted wide-brimmed hat and tasseled earrings, standing among cows and calves.

In true Máxima fashion, there was room for a laugh amid the pageantry. One of the farm's calves had been born just minutes before the royal couple arrived, and Máxima was given the honor of naming it. Her options: Wilhelmina or Máxima. "Then, Máxima," she said, laughing.
The queen's midi-length brown dress leaned into a silhouette tailor-made for the shift into fall weather. A round neckline left room for a subtle, elegant hint of décolletage, while the sleeves — constructed in small cape-like layers — gave the whole look a sense of movement with every step.
The most flattering detail sat at the waist, where gentle gathering pulled the fabric in just enough to define her shape before letting the skirt fall freely. The dress needed no further embellishment: between the sleeve volume and the cape's motion, it carried plenty of presence on its own.

Left-wing podcast host Angie "Pumps" Sullivan dished that there is a guaranteed way to prove a man supports President Donald Trump: His ******* ual prowess — or lack thereof.
Sullivan revealed on the Tuesday episode of I've Had It that while she is not speaking from firsthand experience, she has not heard from her single friends about one good ******* ual encounter with MAGA men.
"This is anecdotal, but in my friend group that's out there in the wild dating, with 100% returns on every person that I know that has slept with somebody in MAGA — like didn't know they were MAGA or kinda, was on the back burner or kinda knew but was denying it — horrible in bed. Horrible," Sullivan said. "100% returns on that."
"I know," co-host Jennifer Welch said, without going into detail about her research.

JAKARTA, Sept 8 (Reuters) - The Indonesian agency responsible for the country's free meals programme has temporarily closed nearly 2,000 ‌kitchens for failing to register for hygiene checks, its ‌chief said.
Here are some details:
• The National Nutrition Agency suspended 1,999 kitchens across Indonesia because they did not register with the health ministry to undergo mandatory hygiene and sanitation certifications, agency chief Sudaryono said on Monday.
• There are currently 27,022 kitchens distributing free meals across Indonesia as ‌of September 7, he ⁠added.
• "The hygiene and sanitation certification is a mandatory requirement for operating kitchens that provide the free meals ⁠programme," said Sudaryono, who goes by only one name.

The Cleveland Browns have had plenty of time this offseason to reflect on what they need to do in 2026. With a new coaching staff and an overhauled roster, Week 1 will speak volumes about what they'll be like.
ESPN also did one last bit of reflection when they tasked the beat writers for their respective teams with answering a few final questions about their teams. However, one question was directed at ESPN's Seth Walder. He was asked what a bold prediction about the Browns is.
His answer centered on the quarterback position.
He answered, "Quarterback Taylen Green will start at least four games. Perhaps there's no fourth-string player with an easier path to playing time than Green, a sixth-round pick out of Arkansas. I'm bearish on Watson, Sanders and Gabriel, so by the time the end of the season rolls around, I suspect the Browns will want to see if they have anything in Green."
Taylen Green may already be getting some work in packages. He just brings something to the position with his speed and mobility that no one else on the depth chart does. When an offense needs a spark, Green ca provide that and he showed it during the preseason.
