Xabi Alonso has confirmed Moises Caicedo will miss Chelsea's Carabao Cup clash with Leeds but could return this weekend.
Caicedo is yet to recover from the injury which kept him out of the defeat to **** nal, with Alonso unwilling to take any unnecessary risks with the midfielder.
Summer signing Marco Palestra will also miss the Leeds game as he continues to work towards full fitness.
"No, not yet. Still not ready to go," Alonso said when asked about the pair.
"Not the moment to take too early risk. So we go game by game with them and it's too early."
