Jessie James Decker wasn't willing to ignore the bare foot resting on her airplane armrest. She reached for a small spray bottle and aimed it at the foot, which quickly withdrew. The singer covered her mouth while laughing.
The 38-year-old shared the recording on Instagram on October 28, PEOPLE reported. Before reaching for the bottle, she had covered her nose and mouth. "Someone's foot smells so bad on the plane," she wrote over the footage.
"Before you come at me … What would you have done?" she asked in the caption. Suggestions included tickling the foot or drawing on it with a marker, according to Page Six. Other commenters said they would have responded as she did.
Some viewers questioned whether the encounter involved a stranger at all. They suspected the person behind her was her husband, former NFL wide receiver Eric Decker, whom she married in 2013.
"Have you seen Eric's feet? Toeeeee UP," she replied to a commenter who suggested the foot belonged to him, according to Entertainment Weekly. She did not identify the person in the recording.

CALGARY. Alberta (AP) — Yegor Sharangovich scored the go-ahead goal with 4:28 left and the Calgary Flames ended Carolina's seven-game winning streak, beating the defending champion Hurricanes 3-2 on Saturday night for their second victory of the season.
Morgan Frost set up the winning goal after scoring on a power play in the second period. Matvei Gridin also scored, and Devin Cooley made 34 saves to help Calgary improve to 2-6-0.
On the deciding play, Frost sent a saucer pass across the slot to Sharangovich, who one-timed it as soon as the puck landed on his stick and picked the top corner, sending goalie Brandon Bussi's water bottle flying.
Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jalen Chatfield scored for Carolina, and Bussi made 31 saves. The Hurricanes dropped do 7-2-1.

Dakota Johnson opened her third turn hosting Saturday Night Live on Oct. 3 by talking about her love life, starting with her "two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians."
Then her "literal therapist" walked out.
It was Taylor Swift, and she turned down the job on the spot.
"I'm not your therapist, actually," Swift told her. "You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some."

Dakota Johnson's "Saturday Night Live" monologue was interrupted this week by the actress' "literal therapist," Taylor Swift, who bonded with the host over their shared experiences dating musicians who "don't wear shoes" and happen to be "terrible in bed."
Johnson kicked off her "SNL" run this week with a joke about her failed 2024 superhero movie "Madame Web," which she remarked she is still promoting because "it hasn't made any money yet." Afterward, the actress reflected on the other turns her life has taken since she last hosted "SNL."
"I went through two very public, very lame breakups with two very awesome musicians. Looking for a third," Johnson joked, referencing her splits from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Role Model singer-songwriter Tucker Pillsbury. While she vowed not to talk anymore about her personal life, Johnson's monologue was derailed again after she noted that her new movie, "Verity," is a psychosexual erotic thriller.
"So is dating musicians. Some of them don't wear shoes. Some of them are terrible in bed. But all of them are in my DMs," Johnson said. "Some people leave concerts with merch, and I leave concerts with a two-and-a-half year relationship." Thankfully, Johnson said she has "good friends" who do not judge her for her dating choices.
Enter: Swift, whom Johnson called her "literal therapist," much to the former's discomfort. "I'm not your therapist, actually. You just show up once a week at my house with an empty bottle of wine and ask if I want some," Swift said.

Craft stores are generally reserved for browsing yarn aisles on quiet Sunday afternoons and overspending on seasonal holiday decor. But every so often, retail chaos infiltrates their quiet corners in the face of a shoplifter or a drunkard. Or maybe, both.
In a TikTok storytime, creator Madi Max (soft.cuddlebunny) looked back on her days working retail at Joann Fabrics. She specifically recounted an incident of an intoxicated shoplifter trying to play Romeo and criminal mastermind at the same time. The result? The local craft hub turned into an accidental slapstick comedy routine.
The hilarious routine started as an unhinged flirtation attempt. But it ended with dozens of stolen markers across the linoleum floor and the furious perp screaming from the back of a police cruiser.
According to Max, the incident kicked off when a man stumbled through the automatic sliding doors carrying an open, uncovered liquor bottle. He was allegedly actively taking swigs as he roamed the aisles. But rather than laying low, he allegedly zeroed in on Max's coworker.
The man was reportedly nursing an unprompted, aggressive crush and loudly peppering the coworker with wildly inappropriate remarks. At one point, he allegedly started pointing at rolls of material, declaring that she would look stunning in lingerie made out of the textiles.

Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger is backing a startup that thinks AI's next bottleneck is not the accelerator. It is everything waiting for data to arrive.
Delos Data announced on September 15 that it raised more than $100 million to develop networking chips and software for increasingly heterogeneous AI data centers. Playground Global, where Gelsinger is a general partner, joined the round. Reuters reported that Delos is designing the network to work across different types of compute hardware rather than **** uming every accelerator comes from NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA).
That makes Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) an important read-through even though AMD is not an investor in Delos.
For illustration purposes only. Photo by Brett Sayles on Pexels
Nvidia does not dominate AI simply because its GPUs are fast. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) sells a tightly integrated system of accelerators, networking, interconnects and software. That makes large clusters easier to deploy and gives customers fewer reasons to mix architectures.

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) garnered significant investor attention after it unveiled a new 800V DC-native fuel-cell power architecture on September 16, designed to supply continuous direct current to the next generation of AI data centers.
These solid-oxide fuel cells can generate continuous 800V DC power natively, rather than producing AC power that then has to be converted into DC that AI computing equipment ultimately consumes. This potentially removes several conversion stages, such as transformers and switchgear, thus lowering capital cost and energy losses.
Bloom claims that its technology can cut non-compute capital expenditures for a 1 GW data center by $3.6 billion, or 27%, and lower five-year total cost of ownership by $5.5 billion, or 9%, compared to traditional AC-based infrastructure.
With this technology, Bloom Energy is targeting one of the biggest bottlenecks in the ongoing AI boom – securing large amounts of reliable power quickly and economically. If 800V DC becomes widely adopted across AI data centers, the company will benefit not only from the soaring power demand, but also from a broader shift in how that power is generated and delivered.
Bloom Energy pointed to Nvidia's planned adoption of 800V DC architecture beginning with Rubin Ultra and Kyber systems as an indication of where data center power infrastructure is heading. In its 2026 Mid-Year Data Center Power Report, Bloom claimed that data center leaders expect DC-based architectures to account for 58% of new deployments by 2030, potentially creating a significant market for technologies designed around direct-current power delivery.

GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) is trying to recover after an 8.5% decline, with Bernstein defending the stock as "wired to win" and highlighting that data centers account for only 38% of its electrification order book. This supports the argument that the company's utility exposure extends beyond AI power demand alone. That diversification is a real consideration, but it does not directly address the concern raised by GLJ Research. The firm's Sell rating is not based on doubts about AI-driven power demand. Instead, GLJ Research argues that GE Vernova is still a fundamentally cyclical gas-turbine manufacturer, while its current valuation reflects an **** umption that the ongoing boom can remain permanent.
GE Vernova shares stabilized after an 8.5% decline triggered by GLJ Research's new Sell rating and broader concerns that a slowdown in AI spending could weigh on the company's order book. Bernstein **** yst Sunaina Ocalan directly challenged the view that GE Vernova's outlook depends mainly on AI infrastructure spending:
While data center orders were $5 billion in H1 2026, or about 38% of electrification orders, the remaining 62% was utility-driven. Utility spend should continue to grow, supported by grid reliability and resilience investments. A slowdown in data center demand may alleviate generation bottlenecks but would do little to address existing grid constraints.
Bernstein continues to rate the stock a Buy with a $1,298 price target, while nearly 80% of **** ysts covering GE Vernova also have a Buy rating. In a separate development, the company announced a wind turbine supply agreement with Eurus Energy Holdings in **** an.
GLJ Research's Gordon Johnson argued that GE Vernova's turbines being sold out does not justify the stock trading at roughly 38.9x forward EV/EBITDA at the time the report was released. Johnson described the company as "a cyclical gas turbine manufacturer priced as a secular compounder," highlighting the premium valuation placed on a fundamentally cyclical business. His model estimates 2027 EBITDA at $7.42 billion, which is 22% below Wall Street consensus. The lower forecast is partly based on the timing of turbine orders, as equipment scheduled for 2027 delivery was ordered in 2024, before the company introduced its more recent price increase.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the cybersecurity landscape, and CrowdStrike Holdings (CRWD) believes the threat is no longer theoretical. CEO George Kurtz recently described the situation as the "genie's out of the bottle," underscoring that AI capabilities are now widely available and can be exploited by attackers. CrowdStrike's 2026 Global Threat Report found that AI-enabled adversary activity surged 89% year-over-year, while the company has also observed attacks moving at machine speed.
Kurtz said AI agents should be secured like privileged users, with strict permissions, temporary credentials, and emergency shutdown capabilities, while humans retain control over critical decisions. He also urged AI companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI to work more closely with cybersecurity firms and independent evaluators to address emerging AI-related threats.

GE Aerospace's $11.75 billion purchase of Consolidated Precision Products, announced September 8, is billed as fixing the castings bottleneck behind the company's $170 billion services backlog and a spare-parts delinquency rate that grew 20% sequentially in the second quarter.
The deal will not close until the second half of 2027, covers roughly a quarter of GE's airfoil needs, and CFO Rahul Ghai has told investors twice this month that "broad vertical integration is not the solution," calling CPP a "unique situation."
Sell-side price targets jumped hard after the announcement, with the mean target rising from $350.95 on June 30 to $401.00 by September 16, pushing the target-to-price ratio to 128.2%, the widest gap in over a year.
Over that same window, GE's share price fell from $373.73 to $312.90 and its NTM P/E multiple compressed to 37.16x, below its own two-year average of 39.31x and well off the roughly 50x peak reached a year earlier, even as consensus EPS estimates kept climbing smoothly through 2030 with no visible step-up.
GE Aerospace's (GE) own numbers make the case for urgency. Services backlog sits near $170 billion, internal shop visit capacity is running 40% oversubscribed, and spare-parts delinquency, shipments delayed by material shortages, grew 20% sequentially in the second quarter even as revenue rose. Management has said engines removed but not yet inducted into shops are up 60% year over year. That is the backdrop against which GE agreed to buy CPP, the world's third-largest maker of precision castings used in turbine blades and vanes.

On September 9, 2026, Reuters reported that GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) agreed to buy castings maker Consolidated Precision Products for $11.75 billion. It is its largest acquisition since becoming a standalone company in 2024, to secure the supply of the precision metal turbine-blade components that have been a persistent bottleneck across the jet engine industry. CPP is the world's third-largest maker of these parts. CEO Larry Culp called the capacity "mission-critical" as the company works through a backlog stretching into the next decade.
GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) can use the acquisition to convert its massive backlog into revenue faster. The company's backlog exceeded $210 billion after its second-quarter results. It includes roughly $170 billion in commercial services and more than $30 billion in defense. The $11.75 billion acquisition of Consolidated Precision Products directly targets one of the supply-chain bottlenecks that has limited GE's ability to increase engine production. CPP supplies about one-quarter of GE's casting needs. It gives GE greater control over a critical manufacturing process and could help it meet deliveries tied to its long-term backlog.
Bringing CPP in-house could improve GE's production economics while reducing supplier dependence. Spare-parts delinquencies jumped 20% sequentially in the second quarter. It shows the ongoing operational impact of supply constraints. GE plans to apply its Flight Deck lean operating model at CPP to improve factory yields and machine utilization and reduce scrap and rework. The company expects the acquisition to generate about $200 million in net synergies and achieve double-digit return on invested capital by the fifth year. It gives investors a measurable path to stronger returns from the deal.
The acquisition makes GE's position solid in the next generation of engines. GE expects demand for airfoils to increase more than 30% by 2030 from 2026 levels. CPP's casting expertise could help GE bring new airfoil designs into production faster. The business also expects CPP to make roughly $2 billion in revenue in 2027. That combination gives investors a potential path to higher production capacity, faster technology development, and stronger long-term participation in commercial and defense aerospace demand.
GE Aerospace (NYSE:GE) must justify a nearly $12 billion investment, and investors already ******* ign a premium valuation to the stock. GE Aerospace trades at roughly 46 times forward earnings. It leaves investors with limited tolerance for execution problems or weaker-than-expected returns. The company will fund $7 billion of the acquisition with cash and finance the remainder with new debt. So GE needs CPP's earnings and operating improvements to make sufficient returns to support the purchase price and protect shareholder value.

If you bought Coca-Cola (NYSE:KO) a decade ago, you bought a business that has spent the intervening years quietly reinventing its balance sheet while doing what it always does: raising the dividend. 2025 marked the 63rd consecutive year of dividend increases, cementing Coca-Cola's status as a dividend king.
The past two years have been eventful. CEO James Quincey handed the reins to Henrique Braun in 2026, and the company has pushed hard on refranchising bottlers, including a pending sale of Coca-Cola Beverages Africa. Q4 2025 absorbed a $960M BODYARMOR impairment, but 2026 has been a different story. Q2 delivered EPS of $0.97, revenue of $13.38B (+6.7% YoY), and 5% unit case volume growth, aided by the FIFA World Cup marketing push. Management now guides to comparable EPS growth of 9% to 10% for the year.

NBIS revenue surged 454% to $582M with a $37.49B contracted backlog, while ALAB posted its eighth straight EPS beat on 104% revenue growth.
GPUs are worthless without high-speed interconnects, making cables, switches, and optical modules the AI industry's most critical and most overlooked bottleneck.
CRDO plunged 42% last month despite delivering 114.7% revenue growth and guiding for over 85% full-year growth in fiscal 2027.
Just released. Our ***** ysts combed the entire stock market and named the ten best stocks to buy right now, and Astera Labs didn't make the cut. Enter your email to see the names that beat ALAB. The report is free. Enter your email and see if any of your stocks made the cut.
The interconnect layer beneath AI clusters is the current bottleneck. GPUs are useless if they cannot exchange gradients and tokens at line rate, and the cables, switches, retimers, and optical modules that carry that traffic have become the constraint the industry is racing to relieve. One data point frames the pressure: (NASDAQ:ALAB) said PCIe 6 products already made up more than 50% of its total revenue in Q2, up from one third in Q1, evidence that the connectivity generation shift is happening in quarters, not years.

Between 2023 and 2025, Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA) was the market's most obvious artificial intelligence (AI) trade. During this period, the stock went parabolic, surging by 1,180% and turning the chipmaker into the world's most valuable company by market cap. On a split-adjusted basis, that was a climb from about $14 per share to $186 by the end of 2025.
Currently, Nvidia stock sits around $218, up another 17% year to date. This is what it looks like when a company owns a scarce product that's in heavy demand -- in this case, graphics processing units (GPUs).
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Micron Technology's (NASDAQ: MU) rocket-like move came a bit later, but hit much harder. Memory chips were an afterthought during the initial GPU gold rush. But as training clusters got larger and inference workloads got hungrier, supplies of high bandwidth memory (HBM) started running short. Prices for HBM soared, and Micron stock responded epically -- rising 239% in 2025 and another 242% so far this year. This type of price action indicates the market has recognized that memory is no longer just another tech commodity -- its supply is one of the key bottlenecks dictating the pace at which data centers can be built.
Nvidia and Micron are not the same bet. While Nvidia sells engines, Micron is selling the tanks for the fuel these engines cannot operate without. This begs the question: At this point, which of these AI chip stocks would be the better one to buy and hold for the next five years?

GE Aerospace (GE) trades near $318, up 13.4% over the past twelve months. Behind that price sits a commercial services backlog of roughly $170 billion, work on engines already flying. The easy read is that the good news is in the price, and the coming three years just work that backlog off. A three-year scenario on the company's own numbers puts a size on what is left.
Revenue does most of the work. The scenario grows it 17.4% a year for three years, down from the 21.7% pace of the past twelve months, and net margin recovers some of the ground it has lost. Together they lift earnings about 67%.
The constraint is not demand. Management said in July that what lies ahead is much more a supply-side challenge than a demand one. Spare parts delinquencies, shipments held up for want of material, grew 20% sequentially in the second quarter of 2026.
GE Aerospace agreed in September to buy the castings maker Consolidated Precision Products. The deal shows where the bottleneck sits.
Then the multiple takes its cut. The scenario trims the P/E from 36.8x to 32.9x, because a slower revenue pace will not support what the market pays today. On those ******* umptions the stock would be worth about $475 in three years, roughly 50% above today.

Break a proposed role into its recurring tasks and sort them into four categories — judgment, relationship, repetition and coordination — to determine whether you truly need to hire another person.
If the bottleneck is mostly judgment or relationship work, hiring or developing a person is probably the right answer. If the bottleneck is mostly repetition, test automation before adding permanent headcount.
If the bottleneck is mostly coordination, redesign the process first. If the job contains all three, separate the workflow so the human role is built around the work that deserves a human.

Back in April, Morgan Stanley had highlighted how accelerating Agentic AI demand could boost demand for central processing units (CPUs) beyond the ‌graphic chips that have dominated the AI theme so far.
"As AI transitions from generation to autonomous action, the computing bottleneck is shifting towards CPU and memory, driving a step-change in general-purpose compute intensity."
The firm estimated that agentic AI could add $32.5–60 billion to a data-center CPU market already exceeding $100 billion by 2030.
Piper Sandler now backs this claim, ******* erting that Agentic AI is driving demand for Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)'s CPU server products amid limited supply. On September 9, Piper Sandler ******* yst David O'Connor initiated coverage on Intel with a Neutral rating and a $110 price target.

The artificial intelligence infrastructure race is moving from a chip shortage story into a race for something harder to manufacture: data center capacity. Land, electricity, and finished buildings are becoming the bottlenecks as hyperscalers pour hundreds of billions of dollars into AI. That is creating an opening for a new breed of cloud providers that can secure capacity where the largest cloud companies cannot.
At Thursday's Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference, Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang made clear that he sees this market expanding for years—and his comments were particularly bullish for CoreWeave (CRWV) and Nebius Group (NBIS).

A few weeks ago, I used Uber Eats to deliver me a case of bottled water, a dozen Starbucks iced coffee bottles, and a 12-pack of Gatorade Zero.
It cost a little more than going to the store less than two miles from our house, but instead of having to lug those bulky items from the store to my car and then my kitchen, I only had to bring them in from the front door.
That was either a lazy choice or evidence of excellent time management skills, but it's a solid example of how people use the internet. Because while people generally think it's much higher (I've asked the question to thousands of people on various podcasts and live shows over the years), digital sales are still a relatively small percentage of total retail sales.
"E-commerce sales in the second quarter of 2026 accounted for 17.1 percent of total sales," United States Census Bureau data showed.
Consumers have shifted some of their purchases online, and they're looking for convenience.

Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM) is facing a mixed outlook after GE Aerospace agreed to acquire Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) for about $11.75 billion to secure more control over critical engine castings and expand production capacity. The announcement initially hit Howmet shares, which fell about 10%, as investors worried that GE could eventually rely less on outside suppliers such as Howmet.
However, Howmet CEO John Plant said he is comfortable with the deal and remains confident in Howmet's ability to grow. The bigger issue for Howmet right now appears to be how quickly it can expand capacity to keep up with soaring demand. Commercial aircraft production, defense activity and aftermarket demand are all increasing, while Howmet is also benefiting from demand for turbine components used in data centers. Plant said the scale of the required capital expansion is itself "testing" the company.
The strongest bullish argument for Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM) is that GE's decision to spend nearly $12 billion on CPP validates how strategically valuable aerospace castings and engine components have become. The acquisition is aimed at addressing a supply bottleneck rather than signaling weak demand. GE expects airfoil demand to rise by more than 30% through 2030, while aircraft manufacturers and defense customers continue to push production higher. That creates a favorable industry backdrop for Howmet as well.
Howmet also has an opportunity to benefit from customers looking for additional capacity outside GE's newly integrated supply chain. If demand continues to exceed available casting capacity, Howmet's existing manufacturing footprint and expertise could give it significant pricing power and support further investment. Plant's comments that the company is being "tested" by the sheer scale of expansion suggest that Howmet is dealing with a capacity problem caused by strong demand, rather than a lack of orders.
Another positive is that Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM)'s exposure extends beyond commercial aircraft. Its blades and vanes are also used in gas turbines serving the rapidly expanding data-center market, providing another avenue for growth alongside aerospace. Plant has also indicated that the company intends to revisit its longer-term revenue targets, after previously saying revenue could potentially double from 2025 levels within three to five years.

Costco has raised the price of its Kirkland Signature full-synthetic motor oil and begun limiting how much any one member can purchase, as a global lubricant shortage tied to the ongoing Middle East conflict pushes crude oil toward $100 a barrel.
That 10-quart case — two 5-quart bottles, enough for a typical V6 or V8 oil change — has jumped to $57.99, compared with the roughly $30 price members had grown accustomed to paying, according to The Drive. Stores are capping purchases at two units per customer per week. The retailer has also imposed a five-per-member limit on Mobil 1, with six quarts of that brand running $44.
The rationing reflects pressure from multiple directions. The connection to fuel prices runs through the refinery: base oil shares its crude-oil origins with gasoline and diesel, so when margins on finished fuel are strong, refiners have a financial reason to favor fuel production over lubricant stock, according to The Auto Wire. EIA data showed the gasoline crack spread sitting roughly a dollar per gallon higher than where it stood at the same point in 2025, a gap that has squeezed base oil availability and pushed its price upward.
Regulatory and licensing costs add a separate layer of expense. The Kirkland 5W-30 displays the dexos1 Gen 3 certification, GM's proprietary specification, and earning that mark is not free — manufacturers must put their formulation through GM's independent testing protocol and obtain a license from the automaker, paying separately for each product and each unit sold, according to The Auto Wire. Layered on top of that is an industry-wide burden: when the API SP category took effect around 2020, it introduced seven additional laboratory tests with no equivalent in the previous standard, among them a procedure targeting low-speed pre-ignition, the knock-like detonation problem **** ociated with modern turbocharged, direct-injection engines.
The supply squeeze is unfolding against a backdrop of a worsening global oil deficit. The International Energy Agency cut its 2026 global oil supply forecast to 102 million barrels per day in August, projecting a deficit of 1.8 million barrels per day in the third quarter — more than double its prior estimate. **** ulative global inventory draws since the start of the U.S.-Iran conflict have reached more than 500 million barrels, and Chevron CEO Mike Wirth said last week that the cushions that had softened earlier price increases have been exhausted. U.S. diesel prices crossed $6 per gallon for the first time, sitting at $6.06 as of Monday, an 8-cent increase from Sunday and 21 cents above week-earlier levels, according to AAA.

Investors seeking exposure to artificial intelligence infrastructure must weigh the explosive growth of Astera Labs Inc (NASDAQ:ALAB) against the established scale and diverse portfolio of Marvell Technology Inc(NASDAQ:MRVL) to determine the better buy.
Both companies focus on the plumbing of the digital world, ensuring data moves quickly between processors and memory. While Astera Labs focuses on specialized connectivity for AI racks, Marvell offers a broader range of networking, storage, and custom compute solutions. This comparison explores which strategy offers more potential for long-term investors.
Astera Labs designs connectivity solutions that integrate various protocols to support rack-scale AI infrastructure, a high-growth niche among semiconductor stocks. The company serves major hyperscalers and equipment manufacturers who need to overcome data bottlenecks in massive data centers, though its revenue is highly concentrated. In 2025, one end customer -- Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) -- accounted for over 70% of revenue, which adds a significant layer of risk to the business model.
According to its latest annual report, filed for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2025, revenue reached close to $853 million, representing a significant jump of 115% compared with the prior fiscal year. This growth trajectory helped the company transition to a net income of just over $219 million after recording losses in the previous two years. The net margin for the latest year was close to 26%.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the debt-to-equity ratio was 0.0x, meaning the company carries no debt relative to its shareholder equity, while the so-called current ratio was 10.2x. Free cash flow for the period reached nearly $282 million. Note that stock-based compensation (SBC) represented roughly 50.1% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since SBC is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.

As artificial intelligence matures, investors must decide between the high-growth niche players and the foundational giants. Choosing between Astera Labs Inc (NASDAQ:ALAB) and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (NYSE:TSM) involves weighing explosive potential against established dominance.
Astera Labs provides the critical connectivity infrastructure that allows AI chips to communicate within data centers. Meanwhile, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing operates as the world's largest dedicated chip foundry, producing the actual processors for almost every major tech firm. Both companies are central to the future of semiconductor stocks.
Astera Labs specializes in connectivity solutions designed to remove bottlenecks in high-performance data centers. The company sells hardware and software that helps AI accelerators, such as those made by major chip designers, communicate efficiently across servers. Its customer base is highly concentrated, primarily consisting of the largest cloud providers and system manufacturers. In 2025, one end customer accounted for over 70% of total revenue. Customer concentration like this adds a layer of risk to the business.
In FY 2025, revenue reached more than $852.5 million, representing an impressive increase of roughly 115% compared to the prior year. This rapid growth helped the company pivot from a loss in previous years to a net income of approximately $219 million. The net margin, which measures how much of each dollar of sales remains as profit, stood at nearly 26%. This trajectory highlights the surging demand for the specialized connectivity chips required for large-scale AI deployments.
As of its December 2025 balance sheet, the company reported a debt-to-equity ratio of 0.0x, indicating it holds no debt relative to its shareholder equity. Its so-called current ratio, which compares short-term ******* ets to short-term liabilities, was a robust 10.2x. Free cash flow, or the cash left over after paying for operations and equipment, was approximately $282 million. Note that stock-based compensation represented roughly 50% of operating cash flow, which inflates reported cash generation since this is a non-cash expense added back in the cash flow statement.

But first, what's optoelectronics?
Computers speak in electrons. Fiber in fiber optic cable speaks photons. Connect the two and that's optoelectronics.
Lasers provide the light and modulators encode digital information to be transmitted:
Optoelectronics technology is efficient and solving a data transmission problem that's been an AI bottleneck recently.
Recent pullbacks in two great optoelectronics companies have provided potentially attractive opportunities. The first company is Ciena (CIEN), a $50 billion market capitalization firm that makes high-speed optical network equipment.
