Palantir Technologies (PLTR) trades near $172.56, and the options market has already drawn the year ahead in dollars. The one-year band runs from $96.77 at the floor to $307.69 at the ceiling. That is not a forecast. It is the size of the uncertainty you are holding, and it raises a question about position size rather than direction.
What You Are Actually Risking On A Palantir Position
That range is where the options market puts roughly a two-in-three chance over the twelve months ahead. On a $10,000 holding, that is about $4,400 at risk down to the floor. Up to the ceiling there is about $7,800 of room. The two sides are not the same size because a stock cannot fall below zero but can rise without limit.
Outside that band sit two tails: roughly a one-in-six chance the stock finishes above the ceiling, and the same chance it finishes below the floor. So $96.77 is the edge of the ordinary, not the bottom of it.

As I wrote for TheStreet in "Microsoft CEO adds fuel to Palantir CEO's AI warning," Nadella argued that companies weren't merely paying for tokens. Moreover, they were feeding outside models the prompts, corrections, and institutional knowledge that eventually make those systems useful for their users.
"You essentially pay for intelligence twice, once with money, and again with something even more valuable," Nadella wrote in his July essay.
Days later, that warning became a central part of Palantir's bull case. Now, two months on, Palantir and Nvidia, two of the biggest names in the AI ******* e, are starting to act on it.

The Baldwin Insurance Group (BWIN) is suddenly in the spotlight after Michael Dell's family office and Sequence Holdings agreed to take the insurance broker private in a deal valued at about $7.7 billion. The offer calls for $32.50 in cash for each share. That represents an 88% premium to Baldwin's unaffected June 17 closing price. Shares jumped 7.5% to $31.89 after the deal was announced on Sept. 14.
For investors, the story is now less about what Baldwin might be worth as a standalone public company and more about whether the proposed transaction closes as planned. The deal also gives Baldwin access to long-duration capital outside the public markets. That could help the company keep investing in acquisitions, technology, and artificial intelligence without the same pressure to deliver results every quarter.

NBC4's helicopter was one of several news aircraft flying over the scene of a deadly bus crash in Chatsworth Tuesday evening at sunset.
It's common for multiple news choppers to arrive at the scene of breaking news, beaming live images for newscasts and streaming.
But around 7 p.m., something went horribly wrong and in a matter of seconds the NBC4 chopper dropped out of the sky, crashing into shipping containers and vehicles outside a warehouse a few blocks away, bursting into flames. Two station journalists, reporter Eliana Moreno and pilot George Marciniw, were killed along with a bystander on the ground.
Federal investigators are now trying to figure out what went wrong. The Times interviewed several experts, who reviewed recordings of the chopper's final moments. They offered insights into the helicopter itself, its movements that afternoon and what is known about how its mechanics work.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky returned to the Senate to vote on Monday for the first time in three months, looking noticeably more frail after he was hospitalized for a June fall in his home.
McConnell's lengthy absence from the Senate generated a flood of criticism and online speculation, as he initially remained quiet for weeks about his condition. The 84-year-old senator eventually disclosed a month later that he had been "briefly unconscious" due to the fall and had also been treated for mild pneumonia in the hospital.
He briefly addressed reporters Monday from a wheelchair outside the Senate chamber, smiling but speaking slowly and with some difficulty. McConnell joked that he wasn't sure how many reporters would be there after dodging so many questions during his almost two decades as leader.
He said he was back in the Senate to work on a pending farm bill and because he has an ongoing interest in NATO and "backing up our good friends who are totally in the fight against the Russians."
Reporters and photographers were told by Senate staff not to take video of his remarks in the second-floor hallway, even though video is often permitted in that area. Still images were allowed.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Two deadlines are looming for Iraq at the end of the month: the end of a decades-long U.S. military presence and the disarmament of non-state armed groups.
The U.S. withdrawal is underway, and officials say the hundreds of troops remaining in northern Iraq will be out by the Sept. 30 deadline.
The Iraqi government has linked the U.S. withdrawal to an ultimatum for militias to lay down their weapons. But most have indicated they have no plans to do so.
That leaves major questions about what the day after will look like in Iraq.
Iranian-backed Iraqi militias have struck U.S.-linked targets both inside and outside of Iraq since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28. They also have coordinated with Yemen's Houthi rebels to attack Saudi Arabia.

(NASDAQ:NAVN) announced its acquisition of BoomPop, an AI-powered meetings and events platform that has been recognized by Inc. as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Launched in 2023, BoomPop offers end-to-end event management solutions to enterprises, by leveraging artificial intelligence capabilities. Its offerings cover the entire spectrum of event management procedures including venue selection, vendor sourcing, contractual agreement, payments, and more. For Navan, this deal build on an existing alliance between the two entities, which was announced earlier in February. It marks the company's strategic push to expand its footprint across the meetings and events segment, where a large chunk of the spending is still done outside managed platforms.

The BoomPop acquisition follows a persistent enterprise market momentum reported by the company in its second quarter results, allowing Navan to enter into collaborative agreements with several leading companies during the quarter. These included Enbridge, Ingersoll Rand, ****** mins, and Evotec. Navan also concluded the deal to acquire Smartrips, a well-reputed travel management business, with the aim of bolstering its presence across a rapidly-growing Latin American market.
Notably, Navan registered adjusted net income of $14 million during the second quarter compared to an $8 million loss in Q2 FY26. It came at the back of year-over-year growth figures of 39% and 35% for subscription revenue and usage revenue, respectively.
Through full integration of BoomPop's staff and technology, Navan intends to expand its current meetings and events operations, accelerate its product development timeline, and satisfy growing customer interest. The company aims to deliver a more seamless experience covering travel, expense, meetings, and events.

The Denver Broncos drive was derailed by a really bad holding call on Pat Bryant. The hold was just the Kansas City Chiefs player falling down, but that's how it goes in today's NFL. They would punt it back to the Chiefs after gaining most of the yards back.
Denver's defense would come up big on the Chiefs' next drive with Malcolm Roach tipping a third down pass near midfield to force another punt.
Starting from their own 12 yard line, Bo Nix and the Broncos offense opened things up with a checkdown to Adam Trautman for a six yard gain and a quick toss outside to Pat Bryant was an easy first down but he took his eye off the ball just long enough to drop it. On third down and four, Nix hit Jaylen Waddle finally but was immediately hit and tackled a yard short of the first down marker.
After a short two yard run for the Chiefs, Que Robinson exploded off the edge and nearly sacked Patrick Mahomes who threw the ball into the dirt to avoid the sack. On third and eight, Mahomes was pressured again and somehow picked his way through the line and gained just enough for the first down. That would be all they would get and would be punting a few plays later.
A nice punt return by Marvin Mims Jr. finally got the Broncos starting position outside of the 20 yard line for a change. An end around by Troy Franklin picked up five, then an outstanding spin move by RJ Harvey picked up four yards. On third and one, Nix from an empty backfield was immediately pressured and had to scramble to throw it away for yet another punt.

Zane Smith escaped with no serious injuries following a violent crash in Sunday's Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway. The driver of the No. 38 suffered a brake failure in the closing laps of Stage 2, causing him to spin out and slam driver's side first into the outside retaining wall in turn 1.
As Smith climbed from his car, it was evident he was in pain. The 27-year-old was slow to get out of his battered Front Row Motorsports Ford and was leaning on two NASCAR safety workers as they helped him into the ambulance to take him to the infield care center.
Thankfully, Smith took to social media on Monday with a positive update on his condition.
Immediately after Smith careened with the outside wall following the brake failure, his spotter, Ryan Blanchard, tried to summon his driver over the radio to check on his condition.
"We lost brakes here. Let me know if you're OK. Really big hit. Talk to me when you can, please. Let me know if you're OK," he said.

Hits were at a premium with both sides combining for seven, and the Dodgers made the most of theirs, out-homering the Reds two-to-one and relying on Tarik Skubal's best performance as a Dodger to secure a 4-1 win. While Reds starter Nick Lodolo was responsible for all four runs in his seven innings, it doesn't necessarily reflect just how effectively he held down this potent Dodgers lineup for large periods of the game—especially dealing with such an ungrateful task.
It didn't take more than a couple of hitters to find out, or at least get a glimpse of the type of performance Skubal was about to bring to the mound. Facing Cincinnati's most dangerous hitter, Elly De La Cruz, Skubal was down 3-0 in the count following two bad misses, remembering that De La Cruz took him deep last week. The Dodgers' starter not only got back in the count and punched out De La Cruz, but almost as impressively, he did so in a manner of simply imposing his will that few starting pitchers can even hope to accomplish. Skubal threw three straight heaters, none of them particularly dotted, two up and one down, almost as if indicating that today he'd do as he pleased and the Reds were mere spectators to it.
That initial at-bat against De La Cruz was also indicative of the approach that Skubal would carry into this game. Whether due to a lack of feel for a particular off-speed pitch or, more likely, from an adjustment after seeing the Reds' swings against the four-seamer, Skubal went to that pitch far more often than he normally does—throwing it 44 percent of the time across seven scoreless innings, needing just 90 pitches to do so.
The first and only time the Reds managed to put multiple players on base against Skubal came in the fifth inning, when Juan Brito singled, and J.J. Bleday walked, later moving to second and third on a wild pitch. In a nine-pitch at-bat, Hector Rodríguez would go down on a four-seam fastball, this one up and well outside the zone. In fact, each of Skubal's first seven punchouts came on heaters.
Offensively, the Dodgers made the most of their rare hits count, securing just three in seven innings against a dialed-in Nick Lodolo. Unfortunately for the Reds starter, both of the hits he allowed were home runs, first a solo shot to Kyle Tucker in the second and, a couple of innings later, a two-run bomb to Teoscar Hernández.

The 2026 home campaign for the Salt Lake Bees (24-44/63-79) came to a close this week as they welcomed the Round Rock Express (Triple-A, Texas Rangers). Known as the "E-Train," the Lone Star side steamrolled their way to a dominant series victory, winning five of six. Outside of a 11-1 thrashing on Thursday, the Bees never held a lead in the other five contests. The Express (38-31/69-75) collected their first road series win in Salt Lake since 2021, when they swept the Bees in a six-game set.
Despite a quality start from Bees starter Ryan Costeiu, Round Rock earned a 5-1 series opening victory on Tuesday. The visitors scored in four different frames, while Niko Kavadas helped Salt Lake avoid a shutout with a fifth-inning solo blast. Wednesday was more of the same, as the Express tallied a 6-1 victory. MLB rehabber Josh Jung punctuated the win with a solo blast in the eighth, as the Bees were held to just a trio of hits for the second straight game.
As mentioned above, the Salt Lake bats came alive on Thursday with an 11-1 rout. The team tied their season-high with four homers, spotlighted by Kavadas' second multi-homer night of the campaign. The infielder's surge was part of a four-hit night, his first at any level since 2022. On the mound, Joel Hurtado turned in 6.2 innings of one-run ball, finally collecting his first Triple-A win in his eighth try. After falling behind 5-0 on Friday, the Bees nearly completed a comeback, coming up just short in a 5-4 defeat. Salt Lake got the winning run on base in the ninth, but ultimately fell short.
The final Saturday and Sunday at home in 2026 were near carbon copies of each other. Big first innings for Round Rock put them in the driver's seat, leading 6-0 and 4-0, respectively. Saturday's output was more than enough for the visitors as they added seven more runs over the course of the game to shutout the Bees 13-0. On Sunday's home finale, Salt Lake battled and answered every time the Express scored. They closed the gap to 6-4 before Round Rock gained some length with Aaron Zavala's two-run blast in the sixth, the only longball of the evening. The Bees did not go down without a fight, bringing the tying run to the plate in the ninth. A flyball was tracked down for the 27th and final out of the finale, completing the Express' 9-6 victory.
The 74th and final home game saw 7,853 fans come through the turnstiles of The Ballpark at America First Square — the largest crowd in ballpark history. Salt Lake finished 35-39 at home this season, winning or splitting nine of their 13 total home series. The Bees were victorious in at least one game against every opponent who came to South Jordan, avoiding a sweep for the second straight season as the hosts.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Drew Lock is preparing to lead the team in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals with Sam Darnold set to sit out for the game.
Lock gave the Seahawks a timely lift in the opener, stepping in after Darnold left the game due to injury and delivering a quality performance that led to a win. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown, and took care of the football in the affair.
Lock is equipped to provide Seattle with quick decisions, controlled passing and a balanced rushing attack against Arizona. Lock's mobility will be useful if the Cardinals create a great amount of pressure and force him to scramble outside the pocket.
The larger test will be maintaining that composure for a full game on the road. Seattle will need Lock to protect the football, keep the offense on schedule and capitalize on scoring chances. If he does, the Seahawks will have a realistic path to another important early-season victory.

Walmart (WMT) recently took another step into restaurant delivery, announcing a national partnership with Inspire Brands that puts it more directly in competition with DoorDash (DASH) and Uber Technologies' (UBER) Uber Eats. But the expansion announced recently is still largely limited to restaurants operating as tenants inside Walmart stores, where the logistics are considerably easier to manage. The bigger question is what happens when the company moves beyond these in-store tenants and takes on the more difficult parts of the restaurant delivery market. Until then, the current expansion says more about Walmart's ambition than its ability to become a structural competitor to the established players.
Walmart is expanding its restaurant delivery strategy through a new collaboration with Inspire Brands, whose portfolio includes Arby's, Jimmy John's, Dunkin, Baskin-Robbins, and Sonic. The partnership will bring restaurant delivery into Walmart's app. Dunkin' will be the first brand to launch, starting with 150 in-store tenant locations. Walmart and Dunkin' then plan to expand the offering to most of Dunkin's roughly 10,000 U.S. restaurants, including locations outside Walmart's stores. The broader opportunity is built around Walmart's existing physical footprint. A customer could place a restaurant order alongside a Walmart purchase and receive both through the same delivery. The retail giant says its footprint is located within 10 miles of about 90% of the U.S. population.

One of the 11 jurors who wanted to find Massachusetts mom Lindsay Clancy not criminally responsible for killing her three children said the panel viewed the case as a chance to make things "better for other women" and families — a thought process that one legal ****** yst is calling "problematic."
"Even though we didn't know what was going on outside of our little bubble that we were in, we knew that this was a turning point, and this would be something that could change something to make it better for other women in the future, for other families," 65-year-old Clancy juror Paula Devlin told "CBS Saturday Morning" over the weekend. "You know, justice for those children is this never happening again."
According to Devlin, before the 11-1 deadlock that led to a mistrial, the jury had been split eight in favor of finding her not criminally responsible, two were undecided, and the holdout and one other juror were leaning toward a guilty verdict.

"Devlin's statement is problematic," said Neama Rahmani, a Los Angeles-based trial attorney and legal ****** yst who has been following the case. "Jurors are supposed to decide cases solely based on the facts of that case. In the Clancy case, they were to decide whether she was criminally responsible."

ARAPAHOE, Wyo. (AP) — Every Sunday morning on the Wind River Reservation, congregants gather at Foundations for Nations Church to pray while protesters outside do the same.
The two rituals have unfolded in parallel since the Christian church's pastor, Sarah Lucas, preached a sermon condemning Arapaho ceremonial ways.
The Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes that share the reservation have made clear that Lucas is no longer welcome. Lucas, who is not Native American but owns the land under her church, says she isn't going anywhere. The standoff tests the boundaries of religious freedom and the right of a tribal nation to govern according to its own values and protocols.
The conflict stems from a video that circulated in July as Arapaho people surfaced from their weeklong sundance ceremony. In it, Lucas called that cornerstone of Arapaho spiritual life "idol worship."
"Jesus is the chain breaker. He is the only God that we should be praying to," Lucas said.

On a recent Earn Your Leisure episode, hosts Troy Millings and Rashaad Bilal split openly on where the next dollar of AI value accrues. Millings argued for names outside the Magnificent 7 and made Broadcom's custom accelerator business the centerpiece of the case. Bilal countered that "you have to go with the people who are on the leaderboard," naming Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE:TSM), Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), Micron (NASDAQ:MU), Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG, NASDAQ:GOOGL), Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), and the Nasdaq 100.
I find Millings the more persuasive of the two. Broadcom (NASDAQ:AVGO) posted AI semiconductor revenue of $16.7 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2026, up 221% year over year, and guided the fourth quarter to $21.7 billion, up 236%. On the earnings call, Hock Tan sketched a trajectory to roughly $115 billion in fiscal 2027 and $230 billion in fiscal 2028.

Brian Hickerson, who previously dated actress Hayden Panettiere, found himself in the middle of a police response at a South Carolina bar. A night out with his brother Zach Hickerson turned chaotic, eventually putting both men in police custody and bringing Hayden's death back into the spotlight.
As reported by TMZ, the incident happened Saturday at Wild Wing Cafe in Greenville. Brian and Zach had reportedly spent several hours drinking together before the situation escalated.
Brian eventually left their table toward the back of the bar and went over to speak with other patrons. Things soon became heated. At one point, he allegedly grabbed a stool and threw it backward.
Video obtained by TMZ shows part of the confrontation. Brian appears to be lifted off the ground by someone during an argument. He was then carried outside while a bartender could be heard shouting, "Let him go!"
Police arrived after receiving a report of an "assault." Officers found Brian and Zach involved in an altercation with other people outside the bar. Brian was placed in handcuffs during the confrontation. While officers had him detained, he said, "GPD leaked it when my girlfriend died," apparently referring to Hayden.
