Speculation has been a little subdued recently over a move for the Real Oviedo man, but the winger who impressed at the recent World Cup in the United States, has turned his back on a the lucrative offer from an unknown Saudi club.
Spanish outlet La Nueva Espana have claimed that the skilful winger was offered a five-year contract worth £2million per year from the unknown club.
That equates to around £38,500 per week, but it isn't enough to convince Hassan to make the move
The outlet further suggests that the 24 year old isn't interested in a move to the Gulf State, and will only consider a move to another European club, leaving the door open ever so wider for Celtic to make their move before transfer window slams shut in a few weeks time.

Celtic have been told to pay €9.5m to sign Farès Ghedjemis. The Algerian winger was name checked by Martin O'Neill last week as a potential summer arrival as he looks to strengthen his squad.
According to transfer journalist Sebastian Vidal, Celtic have been told to increase their offer for the winger by €2.5m.
Celtic are expected to return for Ghedjemis but Frosinone are sticking to their valuation of the player. In any case, Celtic are going to have to pay more than they've currently offered for the winger.
Celtic have added Camilo Duran and Kasper Høgh to bolster their attacking options with the frontmen replacing Daizen Maeda and Kelechi Iheanacho. It was clear after the win over Dundee that Celtic needed an injection of pace into the wide areas to freshen up the squad. Ghedjemis' performances in Serie B caught the attention of Celtic in January but no deal was forthcoming. Now, Celtic need to get deals over the line to make sure that they are in top form for the UCL doubleheader against LASK.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup wrapped last month, and with it went 39 days of the kind of moments that make a tournament unforgettable: a teenage phenom stealing highlight reels with his flair, a scrappy underdog nation refusing to go home, a 40-year-old goalkeeper turning in the performance of his career, a nine-figure transfer rumor before the confetti had even settled. For four weeks, the entire sports world organized itself around this single competition. But the appetite for those storylines didn't end when the final whistle blew, and it doesn't need a men's tournament to be satisfied. Right now, in stadiums and arenas across the world, women's sports are producing the exact same arcs: breakout stars, Cinderella runs, veteran redemption stories, record-breaking numbers, and transfer fees rewriting what the sport is worth. They're just not getting the same attention. Here are five World Cup moments and the women's sports stories playing out in real time that deserve to be next on your watchlist.

Yamal spent this World Cup as one of the most-watched players on the planet, a teenager with more than 50 million Instagram followers turning every touch into a moment. Morocco is hosting the Women's Africa Cup of Nations for a third straight edition, running through August 16 across Rabat and Casablanca, and the Atlas Lionesses have opened their campaign in commanding form. They beat Kenya 4-0 to open the tournament, then beat Algeria 1-0 to move to two wins from two matches, sitting atop Group A with five goals scored and none conceded. The breakout to watch is Barcelona Femení prospect Kautar Azraf, flagged by CAF as one of the country's brightest young talents ahead of her first senior call-up, the same "unproven teenager announces herself on the biggest stage" arc that made Yamal a global name this summer.

Celtic have revived their interest in Farès Ghedjemis after fresh reports placed the Algerian winger back near the top of the club's shortlist. According to The Herald, the Scottish champions have reopened talks after narrowly missing out on the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, when Frosinone convinced him to remain and help their promotion push from Serie B.
Transfer Feed carried comments from Martin O'Neill, who admitted Celtic hold a "very, very strong interest" in Ghedjemis. While he stopped short of suggesting an agreement is close, O'Neill revealed discussions are progressing well. He added that he could not confirm whether Rangers are actively pursuing the winger despite recent speculation linking the Ibrox side with the same player.
The report states that negotiations for Real Oviedo's Haissem Hassan have slowed, making Ghedjemis a more realistic option. Frosinone are understood to value the Algeria international at around £8 million (€10 million) after a remarkable campaign that transformed his reputation across Italian football.

Three-time ISKA Kickboxing World Champion Akram "La Pepite" Hamidi made sure his hotly anticipated return to the global stage was one to remember, as he outpointed Watcharaphon Laochokcharoen in the headline attraction of ONE Friday Fights 164.
Their three-round battle capped a massive double-header Asia primetime weekend for ONE Championship, which also saw undefeated star Elbek Alyshov claim the ONE Bantamweight MMA World ******* le in the main event of The Inner Circle 24.
Action erupted almost immediately when Watcharaphon dropped the returning French-Algerian striker with a sharp left hook. The Thai, who vowed to tap into his trademark finishing power for this clash, kept his fists loaded while the referee initiated the count.
However, "La Pepite" quickly regained his footing and answered in kind, flooring the PK Saenchai Muaythaigym athlete with a right hook of his own to level the contest during a frantic opening round. With momentum on his side, Hamidi took the opportunity to display his full ******* nal in the second frame.
The French-Algerian warrior disrupted Watcharaphon's rhythm with slick sweeps, spearing knees, and well-timed teeps, while his opponent continued relying on heavy boxing. Those diverse attacks made the Team Valente representative increasingly difficult to read, and he punctuated one exchange by landing a right hand behind a knee.

Rangers are interested in bringing Frosinone attacker Fares Ghedjemis to Ibrox this summer, according to Sky Sports. Bears manager Derek McInnes has been strengthening his Rangers squad this summer as he looks to win the Scottish Premiership next term. The France-born Ghedjemis has now emerged as a target for the Light Blues after Celtic failed with a bid during the last winter transfer window. The 23-year-old Algerian international bagged 15 goals to help Frosinone secure Serie A promotion, which has impressed Rangers.
Ghedjemis featured at the World Cup and a move to Ibrox could now be on the cards. Rangers are now pushing for a deal and are making a strong move as he is their first target to strengthen in attack.
The Frenchman has several suitors keen on recruiting his services this summer, but the Bears appear to be one of the favourites to sign him. Frosinone will have to start looking elsewhere for attacking reinforcements as they look to impress in the Italian top-flight without the Rangers target.

The NFL has typically rewarded Super Bowls to cities building new stadiums — even if it's a smaller, midwestern city like Minneapolis, which hosted the 2018 game at U.S. Bank Stadium.
But even though the Kansas City Chiefs will be playing in a glitzy, $3 billion dome in 2031, owner Clark Hunt acknowledged the difficulty in landing a Super Bowl because six other teams are also slated to have new stadiums by then.
Kansas City's hosting of the World Cup, though, bolstered the city's chances.
"Not only did we pull it off, we dominated," Chiefs president Mark Donovan said. "That puts us on a different level now."

OPEC+ is expected to approve another production target increase when eight key producers meet on August 2, extending a months-long campaign to unwind voluntary supply cuts that have existed largely on paper since the Iran war upended Gulf exports.
Reuters reported Thursday that Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman are expected to raise their combined September production target by another 188,000 barrels per day, matching the increases announced for June, July, and August.
The problem is that quotas have been rising while actual production has been moving in the opposite direction.
According to OPEC's own data, the group produced 36.28 million bpd in June, down from nearly 43 million bpd before the war began in February. Repeated disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, followed by renewed attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, have prevented several Gulf producers from restoring exports despite higher official targets.
Brent crude topped $100 a barrel Thursday after Houthi attacks on Saudi-linked tankers raised fresh concerns about traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Saudi Arabia shifted much of its crude exports to the Red Sea after Hormuz became unreliable. That alternative route is now coming under pressure as well.

The success of the 2026 World Cup in the United States wasn't defined only by the USMNT's performance on the pitch, but by the growth of the sport in the country where American football is king. The United States was a co-host of the tournament with Mexico and Canada.
Former USMNT stars Tim Howard and Landon Donovan were prepared to **** ist fans old and new with the nuances of the beautiful game through their "Unfiltered Soccer" podcast, which has 92,000 subscribers on YouTube and releases a new episode every Tuesday on major streaming platforms. The two National Soccer Hall of Famers were teammates for several years and played together at the 2010 World Cup, where Donovan famously had the stoppage time goal against Algeria to send the side to the round of 16. It was the last time the United States won their group before doing so again this summer.
This year, the USMNT was kicked out of the round of 16 via a 4-1 dismantling at the hands of Belgium, the team that the United States lost to in the 2014 tournament and Howard had his record 16 saves. The recent match had added tension around a rescinded red card to the United States' leading scorer Folarin Balogun. It had an audience of 30 million viewers on FOX, which made it the most-watched soccer telecast in United States history.
"I think this was a successful World Cup for our US men's national team on the field," Howard said in an interview with USA TODAY Sports. "I do. They did some really good things, and of course, stumbling at that hurdle hurts. It was always going to hurt whenever whenever the team went out. But they could be proud of themselves, and they had a really good tournament."
The World Cup, which had an added round with the expanded field of 48 teams, broke the attendance record in group play and finished with 6.8 million fans watching a match in person. Spain won its first men's World Cup since 2010 and Kylian Mbappé was the first player to win the Golden Boot back-to-back. The French star broke the record for most World Cup goals all-time, which was first passed by Lionel Messi during the tournament.

A 39-year old chasing one last World Cup trophy. A 27-year-old trying to take the crown off him. A 23-year-old dragging England toward history and an 18-year old who bends entire defenses without touching the ball. The World Cup semifinals have gathered the four best teams in the FIFA rankings for the first time ever, and more to the point for this exercise, they're matching the best players in the sport against each other.
France plays Spain on Tuesday in Arlington, Texas. England meets defending champion Argentina on Wednesday in Atlanta. The winners meet Sunday, Jul 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Here's the 10 best players still standing:

At one point he had scored in nine consecutive World Cup matches, a streak ****** ody in the tournament's history has touched. The legs might be 39 years old, but the left foot is timeless.

Newcastle United have once again missed out on a top target, with Aston Villa now finalising a deal to sign Johan Manzambi.
The Magpies looked set to land the Switzerland midfielder before their Premier League rivals moved ahead of them in the race for his signature.
Newcastle will now have to turn to other options in their search for a box-to-box playmaker to add to their ranks.
The Geordies should consider a move for Bayer Leverkusen ace Ibrahim Maza, who recorded five goals and seven ****** ists in 44 appearances in his debut campaign.
The Algerian star has caught the eye in the Bundesliga, where he bagged three goals and created eight big chances. He has been 'a joy to watch'.

Every four years, one name goes on the Golden Boot. Adidas puts its logo on the trophy, and a boot company puts its logo on the player who wins it. Those two facts have always been true in isolation, but this summer, for the first time, the boot company and the trophy sponsor are in direct competition and the race between them is being played out in real time on a scoreboard watched by a billion people.
Lionel Messi joint-leads the 2026 World Cup scoring race with eight goals through five matches. He is an Adidas athlete with a lifetime contract and the award he is chasing has Adidas's name on it. Kylian Mbappé is level on eight, having played one game more, still nominally a Nike athlete but only because Nike secured a one-month contract extension to stop him switching boots mid-tournament, a deal due to expire twelve days after the final. Erling Haaland also has seven, in Nike boots, with no such complication. Harry Kane is one behind on six goals, but has a deal with Sketchers, becoming their leading soccer player when he signed in 2023.
That leaves four players in contention with different commercial arrangements competing for one trophy. Mbappé has already booked a semifinal place, while in the quarterfinals Kane's England faces Haaland's Norway in Miami on July 11, and Messi's Argentina faces Switzerland in Kansas City the same night.
Messi opened with a hat trick against Algeria, added a brace against Austria, missing a ninth-minute penalty along the way, breaking the all-time World Cup scoring record in the process, then came off the bench to score against Jordan before adding a seventh against Cape Verde in the round of 32. That one came in a 3-2 extra-time win where Cape Verde equalised twice. The eighth, against Egypt, was a first-time strike inside the box to pull it back to 2-2 before Argentina finished the job.

Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez continued his golden run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by helping his nation secure a dramatic 3-2 win over Egypt in the Round of 16. The Argentine retained his place in Lionel Scaloni’s starting XI following a masterclass against Cabo Verde in the Round of 32.
Martinez set up Lionel Messi to score the opening goal of the game, and then found the back of the net in the first half of extra time in the 3-2 win over the Blue Sharks. The Butcher has been outstanding at the 2026 FIFA World Cup so far, carrying his impressive form with United to the summer’s spectacle.
Martinez starred in Argentina’s 3-0 win over Algeria in the first group stage game, and also stood out in the 2-0 win over Austria in the group stages. While the United man maintained his position at the heart of the backline alongside Cristian Romero, Scaloni made three changes to the starting XI for Tuesday’s game.
Nicolas Tagliafico replaced Facundo Medina at left-back, while Leandro Paredes and Julian Alvarez were drafted in for Thiago Almada and Lautaro Martinez. Scaloni was determined to avoid an upset following the untimely exits of Portugal and Brazil from the Round of 16.
Argentina arrived at the game as the overwhelming favourites but were stunned when Egypt took the lead through Yasser Ibrahim in the 15th minute. The reigning world champions rallied but failed to break Hossam Hassan’s resolute side.

NEW YORK (AP) — A handful of countries in the OPEC+ oil-producing alliance plan to increase their outputs modestly next month, which would bring more oil online after fuel prices have fallen to levels not seen since before the U.S. and Israel's war with Iran.
The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies — collectively known as OPEC+ — announced on Sunday that seven countries would expand oil production by a combined total of 188,000 barrels per day in August. It was the fifth consecutive month OPEC+ agreed to raise oil outputs.
The participating countries in Sunday's decision are Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Algeria and Oman.
"The countries will continue to monitor and ******* s market conditions, and in their continuous efforts to support market stability, they reaffirmed the importance of adopting a cautious approach," the group of oil producers said in a statement.
In the last month, market optimism caused crude oil prices to tumble before and after the U.S. and Iran reached an interim deal to end their fighting. As part of a broader memorandum of understanding, Iran agreed to allow ships to pass unimpeded through the Strait of Hormuz, and the U.S. agreed to end its blockade of Iran's ports.

The race for the golden boot at the World Cup is hurtling towards an epic contest during the knockout stage as Kylian Mbappe went back ahead of Lionel Messi at the top of the standings, with Harry Kane and Erling Haaland also very much in the race.
The stars continue to dominate at this tournament, none more so than Mbappe, who got up and running with a brace against Senegal before notching another against Iraq, and a third double against Sweden in the round of 32. He then added another in the last 16, scoring a crucial goal from the spot against Paraguay to take his tally to seven.
His two ****** ists have him ahead of Messi, who has regardless sparkled in North America in also scoring seven goals. His opening hat-trick against Algeria was followed by a double against Austria – a game in which he highlighted one of his greatest traits, resilience, after a penalty miss, to break the all-time World Cup scoring record. Another goal arrived off the bench against Jordan, before he inevitably scored in their slender last-32 win over Cape Verde.
Elsewhere, Haaland scored for the 13th straight international when he netted an 86th-minute winner in Norway’s last-32 clash with Ivory Coast to send his side into the next round and move on to five goals for the tournament. Harry Kane is right there with him, too, having saved England with a double against DR Congo.
Mikel Oyarzabal threw his hat into the ring as his brace against Austria brought his total to four, and while Cristiano Ronaldo does have some catching up to do, he scored from the spot in his side’s dramatic knockout win over Croatia to keep himself somewhat into the mix.

Ismael Bennacer is still on the Milan books after the Dinamo Zagreb loan, but is taking matters into his own hands to find a new club this summer.
The Algeria international had been a big investment when making the transfer to Milan in 2019 for €17.2m from Empoli.
His career was at its peak when he suffered a devastating knee injury in May 2023, from which he struggled to fully recover.

There was a loan at Olympique Marseille in February 2025 that was not made permanent, then another to Dinamo Zagreb in September 2025 when other markets had already closed.
