The Green Bay Packers worked out multiple receivers today and re-signed receiver Kisean Johnson after a tryout, following short-term injuries to receivers Matthew Golden and Jayden Reed. When the Packers announced their transactions after practice Sunday, which Johnson participated in, it was news that Green Bay waived two players, not one, while adding Johnson, giving the team an open roster spot on the 91-man roster. The players waived were cornerback Marlon Jones and safety Johnathan Baldwin, who both were given injury designations. They will revert to the Packers' injured reserve if they pass through waivers unclaimed. From there, Green Bay can decide whether to end their seasons by keeping them on the injured reserve or pay them out an injury settlement, which would make them free agents while they are rehabbing their injuries.

Upstart (NASDAQ: UPST) stock dropped 23% in July, according to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence. They announced the signing of defensive backs Brandon Hill and William Wright. They also signed Xavier Woods on Friday.
Hill played in two games for the Texans after being drafted in the seventh round in 2023 and returned to Houston's practice squad last season. He also spent time with the Raiders in 2025.
Wright was undrafted out of Tennessee this year and he spent time with the Broncos earlier in the offseason.

The Supreme Court's ruling, powered by its 6-3 conservative majority, curtailed the ability of lower-court judges to review the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's efforts under Trump to end TPS for about a dozen countries.

A transfer from Georgia Tech, the 6-foot-4, 293-pound Moore appeared in 11 games and made eight starts for the Yellow Jackets in 2025. Moore helped anchor an offensive line that allowed just nine sacks (0.69 per game) during the season.
The Trophy Committee worked with Pro Football Focus (PFF) to narrow down its list to the top 40 centers PFF grades every player on every play of every game on how well they execute their given ******* ignment. That play-by-play grading allowed the Trophy committee to create a watchlist based both on nominations from the schools and data provided by PFF.
Dave Rimington, the award's namesake, was a consensus first-team All-America center at the University of Nebraska in 1981 and 1982, during which time he became the John Outland Trophy's only two-time winner as the nation's finest college interior lineman.
Moore is projected to replace former Florida Gators center Jake Slaughter, a two-time All-American and two-time Rimington Award finalist in 2024 and 2025. Slaughter was taken in the second round by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2026 NFL draft.

SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:SOFI) just posted the best quarter in its history, and the stock fell anyway. Membership hit a record, loan originations hit a record, and tangible book value grew faster than almost anyone expected. Yet shares dropped roughly 9% the day the numbers came out, part of a stretch that has left the stock down nearly 42% this year. The gap between what the business is doing and what the market is doing has rarely been this wide.
The growth engine behind that record quarter keeps compounding. SoFi added 1.1 million new members in FQ2 2026, a record, pushing its base to 15.8 million people, up 35% year over year. What matters more is how it is selling to them: 51% of new products went to existing members, up from 43% the prior quarter and 35% a year earlier, and the average member now uses 1.54 products, up from 1.46 twelve months ago. That is a company getting cheaper to grow, since selling another product to someone already banking with you costs far less than acquiring a stranger.
The balance sheet backs up that growth. Tangible book value jumped 80% year over year to $9.5 billion, or $7.34 per share, while deposits reached $45.5 billion and the total capital ratio sat at 18.8%, comfortably above the 10.5% regulatory minimum. Loan originations hit a record $14.8 billion, up 69%, and the personal loan charge-off rate actually fell 21 basis points even as that book expanded, a sign SoFi is not chasing volume by loosening standards. SoFi's brokerage arm was also among the firms chosen for the record-breaking ***** e Exploration Technologies IPO, and brokerage revenue climbed 141% for the quarter. William Blair's Andrew Jeffrey called the results reason to "aggressively accumulate" the stock, arguing the larger balance sheet efficiently supports management's 20% to 30% long-term return-on-equity target.

An Elmira-based martial arts school is sending a team to Central America this fall to take part in an international competition, and is seeking community help to raise funds for the trip.
Ten competitors and coaches from American Family Karate & Jujitsu, based at 103 Hoffman St. in Elmira, will travel to Santo Domingo Xenacoj, Guatemala, Oct. 9-11 for the 2026 World Sport Jujitsu Championships.
The group will be part of a much larger United States delegation bringing together athletes, coaches and families from martial arts schools across the country.
For the student athletes, the trip represents an opportunity to compete against athletes from at least ten other nations, experience another culture and represent the Southern Tier and the United States before an international audience, according to Team AFK Jujitsu owner and instructor Shawnie Brown.
"There is something powerful about seeing a community come together behind its athletes," Brown said. "These students have trained for years for opportunities like this. When they step onto that competition floor in Guatemala, they will be carrying the encouragement of their families, teammates, local businesses and hometown with them."

Police in the United Kingdom have confirmed that members of the Ugandan boxing team were unaccounted for after they participated in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Police Scotland said in a statement that it had "received reports of several athletes who are unaccounted for" and that it was conducting "enquiries" and engaging with the Home Office.
About 3,000 athletes from 74 nations competed in the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland's largest city, with the closing ceremony held on Sunday.
Only two members of the Ugandan boxing team of six have returned to Uganda, the president of the Uganda Boxing Federation, Moses Muhangi, told the AFP news agency in Kampala after the first athletes arrived on Tuesday evening.
Moses said those who had not returned were the team captain, Nuhu Batte, as well as one other male and two female team members.

For the second time in his 20-plus years coaching at Springboro, Ryan Wilhite has a starting quarterback returning for his third year running the offense.
"It's so rare that a sophomore is ready to start in a position like that," Wilhite said.
And now as a senior Max Miller — a Central Michigan commit — is set to be one of the top players on a Springboro team seeking a Greater Western Ohio Conference championship.
"We pretty much have been playing for second or third every single year for the past couple years," Miller said. "Being able to get over the hump and get that championship would be amazing."
Miller will again be complemented at receiver by fellow senior Noah Bilinski, who led the GWOC in receiving yards last season. The duo are expected to be one of the top passer-receiver combinations in the area.
