focused on spinning multiple business deals involving sports franchises across two continents, whether to buy or sell.
Negotiations are currently underway between TFG, a prominent player in global sports investment that manages its multi-club portfolio through its Houston-based division, Pursuit Sports, and representatives from Houston and Austin. The group is awaiting agreement on terms and the approval of the NHL Board of Governors to establish a team in either city by the end of 2026.
But now Friedkin has another move in play, potentially selling a minority stake in Everton Football Club in the English Premier League. According to The Athletic, the idea is to find strategic investors who can help push the club forward.

I'm not pushing a panic ******* on. I realize that what I'm about to say will come across as 'low standards', 'acceptance of mediocrity', 'a moral victory', etc — but I will say it anyway and with my chest: If you replay this game 10 more times, Real Madrid wins it 10 times. We just happened to play the freak version where Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty, three big chances, and then Vinicius missed a big chance, Espi had bad luck, and Real Madrid squandered an xG of nearly four. The math checks out: Real Madrid were mostly good but didn't score, somehow. What should've happened was Real Madrid go up one or two goals by half-time, Bellingham and Güler get a deserved ******* ist each, then Real Betis open up in the second half and get cooked. But also, all that to say: Real Madrid didn't deserve to win just because they created more chances, and I just made up a scenario to make myself feel better — possibly because I feel numb to the way the last two seasons have gone. Also: Real Madrid are generally terrible at the Benito Villamarin in the last few years. But, at some point, you have to stop using past precedence as an excuse to lose. How many league ******* les do Real Madrid have in the past 20 years again? Answer: Not enough.
Another Arda Güler masterclass, wasted. He's basically been lights out in every minute he's played in this season. When I have to repeat this after every Arda Güler performance, that's pretty ******* good evidence that he's one of the best players in Europe right now, and certainly, from an ******* ytical standpoint, clearly one of the best creators on the entire continent.

The United Nations General ***** embly on Friday endorsed a new world map that represents Africa more accurately in its larger size, a culmination of a recent campaign led by African countries and advocacy groups.
Friday's resolution, which was sponsored by Togo and backed by members of the African Union, was passed with 164 member states voting in favor. Only the U.S. voted against it while six other countries — Serbia, Estonia, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova and Ukraine — abstained.
The vote encourages governments and institutions around the world to replace the traditional Mercator map, commonly used since the 16th Century, with the Equal Earth projection that advocates and geographers say shows locations more accurately.
The Mercator projection shows Greenland and Africa as appearing to be about the same size whereas in the Equal Earth projection that shows continents in their true proportions, Africa is 14 times larger than Greenland.
Friday's resolution does not ban the Mercator projection or impose a replacement, but only encourages the use of the Equal Earth projection, the U.N. said in its report.

Nova Minerals Corp (ASX:NVA, NYSE-A:NVA) has shipped almost 500 tons (454 tons) of antimony processing and refining equipment to Alaska, marking a major step towards construction of its Port MacKenzie facility and targeted first production in 2027.
The shipment includes crushing, ore sorting, milling, flotation, and refining equipment packed into more than 40 containers, along with several oversized loads.
A barge carrying the equipment departed Seattle on August 26 and is expected to reach Port MacKenzie in early September, allowing construction of the processing facilities to begin.
The development forms part of Nova's strategy to establish a vertically integrated US antimony supply chain linking its Estelle Gold and Critical Minerals Project with downstream processing and refining infrastructure in Alaska.
Nova acquired a recently decommissioned modern processing facility in North America, together with additional equipment sourced elsewhere across the continent, before consolidating the plant in Seattle for shipment north.

FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem is optimistic that Argentina could return to the World Rally Championship calendar in the near future.
The South American nation has a rich history in the WRC, featuring regularly on the calendar from 1980 to 2019 with only 1995 and 2010 being its only absentees from the series.
COVID-19 ultimately dropped it off the calendar and when the WRC returned to the continent in 2023 with a round in Chile, the championship has remained in South America ever since.
Last year it even added a second South American round with Paraguay signing an initial three year deal and the event is located near to the Argentina border in Encarnacion.
Paraguay held its second edition last weekend and has proved to be a popular addition as it won the 'best rally of the year award' for 2025 and Motorsport.com understands that both events are involved in discussions to renew their contracts.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) (NYSE: $ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has partnered with blockchain infrastructure firm tZERO to build the systems behind its planned market for tokenized securities.
On Monday, the companies announced that tZERO will work with ICE on transfer-agent and broker-dealer infrastructure designed to support the onchain settlement of tokenized securities on ICE's upcoming NYSE-affiliated digital trading platform.
ICE will also invest in tZERO's latest funding round and license its portfolio of 103 blockchain patents. The size of the investment was not disclosed.

MD Sass, a boutique ******* et management firm, published its second-quarter investor update for its flagship, the "MD Sass Concentrated Value Strategy." The letter can be downloaded here.
