Celtic made it a comfortable night at Paradise on Wednesday with a convincing 3-0 win against Aberdeen to keep their domestic winning run since the start of the season going.
It was also a busy week off the pitch for the Celts, with a number of new additions joining the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Oliver Sørensen, Sam Johnstone, Shumaira Mheuka, Landon Emenalo, Joël van den Berg and Jordan Lotomba all became Celtic players over the course of this week, joining Camilo Durán, Kasper Høgh, Mika Baur and Haissem Hassan who all put pen to paper earlier in the window.
Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown this afternoon, Celtic Manager Martin O'Neill expressed his joy at adding more quality to his side over the course of the window.
"I am delighted to get the players we have." He said. "I'm really pleased. We've got them in and I want to get on with it now.

The Celtic manager will be looking for a positive reaction from the players who will still be hurting having had their Champions League dream torn from them. Martin O'Neill has made three changes to his starting XI for today's match against Falkirk with Liam Scales replacing Auston Trusty, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain coming in for the Celtic captain Callum McGregor, who is suffering from a sickness bug while Haissem Hassan gets his first start for Celtic with Yang and Camilo Duran the other two forwards.
Duran will play as the striker with Kasper Hogh out with a knock picked up in Austria.
On the bench for Celtic this afternoon are Doohan, Trusty, McCowan, Tounekti, Osmand, Kenny, Murray, Forrest and Kennedy.
Kick-off is at 3pm and the match is live on Celtic Player for subscribers based outside of Britain and Ireland.

Martin O'Neill's side already have one foot in the door after Wednesday's 3-0 win over LASK, but will have finish the job in Linz on Tuesday evening if they are to secure a £40 million payday.
If the Hoops prevail, then Sutton believes they will need to add more quality reinforcements if they harbour any ambitions of competing with Europe's elite.

The Egypt international underwent his medical in London and is now expected to travel to Glasgow to put the finishing touches on his move to the Scottish champions.
According to Sky Sports, Celtic have agreed an initial fee of around £6million with Real Oviedo, with a further £3million potentially due in add-ons.
A significant portion of those bonuses will reportedly be triggered if Martin O'Neill's side secure their place in the Champions League league phase later this month.
Hassan is poised to sign a four-year contract at the Hoops, with Celtic holding an option to extend his stay by another season.

Having burst on to the World Cup stage this summer, breakout star Haissem Hassan now appears bound for Celtic.
The Egypt winger is reportedly set for a medical in Glasgow after Celtic agreed an initial £6m transfer fee, that could rise to £9m, with Real Oviedo.
It would end a saga and take Celtic's haul of new recruits this summer to three as the hugely-important Champions League play-off with LASK looms large.
Martin O'Neill has stated his desire for quality over quantity in replenishing a squad that has lost more than a dozen players since last season's league and Scottish Cup double success.
So, why have Celtic zoned in on Hassan and what will he bring?

The Austrian champions have opened their ******* le defence with consecutive league wins and continued their perfect start by beating Austria Wien 2-0 on Sunday.
Attention will soon turn towards the Champions League play-off against Celtic, with the first leg at Celtic Park followed by the return meeting in Austria.
LASK will face a Hoops attack strengthened considerably during the summer window, with Kasper Hogh and Camilo Duran already added to Martin O'Neill's squad and Haissem Hassan poised to further bolster the forward options.
And although Jungwirth did not directly reference Celtic, he acknowledged LASK could be punished by stronger opposition if they repeat some of the shortcomings from their weekend performance.

Celtic's hopes of signing Haissem Hassan have taken a hit after fresh claims suggested the Egyptian international now favours Marseille. According to Celtic FC News Room, the Ligue 1 side have reached an agreement on personal terms with the 24-year-old after holding discussions for several weeks. The transfer has yet to cross the line because Marseille must trim their squad before committing funds, although the French club now appear to hold the advantage.
That leaves Celtic watching events unfold rather than controlling them. Earlier talks had placed the Scottish champions in a strong position, yet Hassan's preference has shifted. Unless Marseille fail to create room in their squad or free up finances, Martin O'Neill's side could lose one of their leading attacking targets before the window closes.
Hassan enjoyed a respectable campaign with Real Oviedo in La Liga during 2025/26. He made 37 league appearances, including 20 starts, produced three ******* ists, completed 26 successful dribbles, posted an 82% passing accuracy and accumulated 1,965 minutes. Those figures explain why several clubs remain interested despite his limited attacking output.

Replacing Nicolas Kühn already looked like a demanding task. After Daizen Maeda left for Ipswich Town, the need becomes even greater. Celtic require a winger capable of stretching defences, creating isolation against full-backs and turning slow attacks into quick breaks.

Celtic have revived their interest in Farès Ghedjemis after fresh reports placed the Algerian winger back near the top of the club's shortlist. According to The Herald, the Scottish champions have reopened talks after narrowly missing out on the 23-year-old during the January transfer window, when Frosinone convinced him to remain and help their promotion push from Serie B.
Transfer Feed carried comments from Martin O'Neill, who admitted Celtic hold a "very, very strong interest" in Ghedjemis. While he stopped short of suggesting an agreement is close, O'Neill revealed discussions are progressing well. He added that he could not confirm whether Rangers are actively pursuing the winger despite recent speculation linking the Ibrox side with the same player.
The report states that negotiations for Real Oviedo's Haissem Hassan have slowed, making Ghedjemis a more realistic option. Frosinone are understood to value the Algeria international at around £8 million (€10 million) after a remarkable campaign that transformed his reputation across Italian football.

Statistics explain the growing interest. Ghedjemis finished the 2025/26 Serie B season with 15 goals and three ***** ists from 37 league appearances, playing 3,024 minutes as Frosinone secured automatic promotion by finishing second. His form carried into the international stage, earning regular Algeria call-ups before appearances during the country's run to the FIFA World Cup round of 32.

Martin O'Neill is prioritising quality over quantity as Celtic prepare to defend their Scottish Premiership ***** le.
The Parkhead side have made two signings this summer - Camilo Duran and Kasper Hogh - for reported combined fees of around £15m.
However, talismanic forward Daizen Maeda has left to join Ipswich Town and O'Neill is keen to get high-calibre players through the door sooner rather than later.
Celtic have been linked extensively with Real Oviedo and Egypt winger Haissem Hassan as well as Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur.
"I think we're trying to get some quality into the football club," O'Neill told Sky Sports.

Last week Mohamed Salah’s Egypt came within a whisker of eliminating defending champions Argentina from the FIFA World Cup at the round-of-16 stage.
Salah’s side had been 2-0 up going into the closing stages - before some questionable referee calls and a late winner from Enzo Fernandez extinguished their dreams.
But the African representatives bowed out with their heads held high despite the loss. Several players - including goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir - acquitted themselves well and turned the heads of observers.
And perhaps the biggest example of a breakout star during the Egypt World Cup campaign was Haissem Hassan.
The wing wizard - who has just been relegated to the Segunda with Real Oviedo in Spain - was arguably the best player on the pitch versus Argentina.

The Egyptian men’s soccer team thinks a higher power interceded in their 3-2 loss to Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 16.
Not God, perhaps, but FIFA.
The African side was up 1-0 when Haissem Hassan passed the ball to Mo Salah, who slid it over to Mostafa Ziko for a goal at the 58-minute mark. However, video-assisted replay (VAR) showed that Egypt’s Marwan Attia got tied up with Argentine defender Lisandro Martinez on the other side of the pitch. It was ruled a foul retroactively, and the goal was disallowed.
The decision was met with immediate criticism, including from Fox commentators, for overstepping VAR’s intended purpose. Egypt appeared to get karmic payback a few minutes later when they scored again and this time it counted.
However, Lionel Messi and the defending World Cup champions staged a furious late comeback, eventually winning 3-2 with a game-winner in stoppage time.

ATLANTA (AP) — Lionel Messi scored his eighth goal of this year's World Cup on Tuesday against Egypt, extending his scoring streak to nine consecutive games for Argentina and moving to the top of a tight Golden Boot race.
The 21st goal of Messi's World Cup career came in the 83rd minute off an ***** ist from Gonzalo Montiel, leveling the game at 2-2 and making up for a saved penalty kick in the 19th minute. Messi's goal came only minutes after ***** isting on Argentina's first score of the game — a header from Cristian Romero in the 79th minute.
Yasser Ibrahim put Egypt ahead in the 15th minute with a header. Mustafa Zico scored Egypt's second goal in the 67th minute off an ***** ist from Haissem Hassan.
Messi has now scored in a record nine consecutive World Cup matches dating back to Argentina's ***** le run in 2022. Tuesday's goal marked his 13th in that nine-game span.
In the race for his first Golden Boot, Messi entered Tuesday's match even with France’s Kylian Mbappé and Norway’s Erling Haaland at seven goals each. Mbappé held the tiebreaker with two ***** ists. England’s Harry Kane is also in the running with six goals.

Lionel Messi may arguably be the greatest soccer player of all-time, but his penalty kick history is not a highlighted part of his decorated résumé.
During Tuesday's World Cup Round of 16 match against Egypt, the Argentinian star had an opportunity to level the match in the 21st minute. Enzo Fernández was fouled by Haissem Hassan in the Pharaohs' penalty box, earning Argentina a free kick.
Up stepped Messi, who is tied in the World Cup Golden Boot race with Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland with seven goals. Egypt Mostafa Shobeir would deny him the tiebreaking goal.
The all-time leading goal scorer in World Cups has seemingly found penalty kicks to be one of the very few areas where he's been unable to succeed. According to Opta, Messi has had eight penalty kick attempts in his career in the tournament. He has failed to score on half of them.
Tuesday's denial was Messi's second missed penalty kick of the tournament. He is now the first player to miss multiple penalties in a single World Cup (excluding shootouts after extra time.)

Not many would have expected this, least of all the Argentinians themselves. In the round of 16 against Egypt, Lionel Messi’s team finds itself 0-1 behind.
This was his reaction to Yasser Ibrahim’s opening goal:
Even harder to believe was that Argentina’s superstar would go on to miss two penalties at this World Cup. This is how his penalty went.
Haissem Hassan had fouled Nicolás Tagliafico, and Messi stepped up. He had already missed a penalty against Austria in the group stage, and today it was already his second.
All in all, 'La Pulga' has stepped up from the spot eight times at World Cups, but has converted "only" four of them. Those are not the kind of numbers you would normally expect from him.
