Everton Women will be away from home in their first three out of four WSL games for the upcoming season, and begin with an opener in the capital against newly promoted Crystal Palace on 6 September at the VBS Community Stadium.
The Blues return to Goodison Park a week later when they welcome another new outfit to the top flight in the form of Charlton Athletic, who won a promotion/relegation play-off against Leicester City, followed by two trips the road against West Ham United before the season's first Merseyside derby completes the opening month in terms of league fixtures.
The Toffees will have to wait until March 2027 to take on the Reds in the return WSL fixture, but can a campaign that will largely be spent on the road actually benefit Scott Phelan's team?
Notoriously slow starters, Everton thought that was behind them on the opening day of last season when an Ornella Vignola hattrick sealed a 4-1 win for the Toffees at Anfield, and a dream debut for the Spaniard.
What would follow was a revert to type as the Blues would fail to find a league win until December, pulling off the upset of the season by defeating Chelsea at Kingsmeadow, but even that momentous result couldn't prevent the inevitable for Brian Sorensen.

Celtic are hopeful of signing Landon Emenalo on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea. The 18-year-old was expected to join Martin O'Neill's side as they look to provide left-back cover for Kieran Tierney.
Emenalo, who was included in Xabi Alonso's pre-season camp, has been up to Lennoxtown but a deal was delayed due to an injury. Now, Sky Sports' Anthony Joseph has revealed that parties are hopeful of concluding a deal tonight.
Celtic are expected to add Chelsea striker Shim Mheuka, who has completed a medical in London. The England U19 International has travelled to Glasgow and is expected to complete a loan switch.
The Hoops have signed Parma midfielder Oliver Sorensen on loan, with an option to buy, while Preston are close to signing Johnny Kenny in a deal worth £3m.

Nebraska football is in the mix with class of 2028 four-star tight end Israel Johnigan. Now, he is planning to visit Nebraska multiple times, including for a game-day visit. This was reported by Husker Online's Bobby Schneider last week. (Subscription needed)
Johnigan earned an offer following Nebraska's Battle of the Boneyard camp in June. He is the 299th overall player in the 2028 class, the 14th overall player at his position, and the fourth overall player in his class from the state of Missouri, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.
In addition to the Huskers, he has offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, and Illinois. The tight end will be coming for the October 10 game against Indiana.
The Huskers need tight end depth for the future, with the position boasting ample upperclassman experience. Luke Lindenmeyer headlines the group, with Carter Nelson and Luke Sorensen as others to watch. This room will need a boost following Lindenmeyer's departure, and Johnigan could provide that.

2023 undrafted free agent Princeton Fant had been a part-time special team contributor for the Dallas Cowboys his first two seasons in the league. Appearing in 10 games total, including eight in 2024, his position became tenuous when the regime change happened. With John Fassel out, and Nick Sorensen in, Fant wasn't seen as an integral member to the special teams unit, appearing in just one game last season.
Yet once again, Fant is being presented with an opportunity to prove his worth. He's the fourth tight end on the depth chart of a team that normally carries three on the 53-man roster, and will have to fend off a new set of UDFA competition before securing any role with the organization.
Position: Tight End
Age: 27
Height: 6-foot-2
