US stocks diverged on Thursday amid fresh doubts about President Trump's ability to end the war with Iran and a potential shake-up to the booming AI trade.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) rose over 1.7%, or more than 900 points. The benchmark S&P 500 (^GSPC) added 0.3%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (^IXIC) pared losses to around 0.2%.
Broadcom (AVGO) shares sank more than 14% after its AI chip forecast disappointed, raising questions about the strength of the broadly booming AI trade.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday evening, following the most serious escalation between the US and Iran since the April ceasefire took effect, the House of Representatives voted to end the war in a rebuke to Trump. Earlier in the day, stocks retreated from records, and oil rose as hopes for a quick Iran deal faded.
Elsewhere, ****** eX confirmed in a new filing that it plans to secure a record-breaking $75 billion in its IPO on June 12. Relaxed rules that could fast-track ****** eX's inclusion in index funds mean that 401(k) investors could wind up invested in the company without buying a single share.

The Detroit Lions have added another receiver to their offseason roster.
On Wednesday, the team announced that it has signed wide receiver Kyre Duplessis, adding another young playmaker to compete for a spot during training camp.
The move comes shortly after the Lions learned that rookie fifth-round pick Kendrick Law will miss the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL.
Duplessis enters the NFL after a productive career with the Delaware Blue Hens.
During the 2025 season, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound receiver hauled in 60 receptions for 824 yards and five touchdowns while averaging 13.7 yards per catch.

Having come on strong in this year’s French Open, Diana Shnaider’s explosive left-handed forehand and double-handed backhand aren’t her only signatures.

The Russian-born player, who is recognizable for her colorful headscarves, is squaring off against Maja Chwalińska of Poland Thursday. Shnaider opted for a repeat look, wearing the same orange headscarf and black Yonex tennis dress that she wore Wednesday to defeat the WTA’s top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka. As for her French Open strategy, Shnaider told reporters earlier this week that she was “trying to go match by match.”

The Yonex-sponsored athlete was unmissable in an orange ribbed headscarf that accented the orange and turquoise trim on her black tennis dress with a leathery-looking pleated skirt. It also coordinates with the red clay courts at Roland-Garros.

Born in Zhigulevsk, Russia, Shnaider started playing tennis at the age of 4 and was training under coach Samvel Minasyan in Moscow by the age of 8. After a stint at North Carolina State University in 2022, she competed in her first Grand Slam tournament the following year at the Australian Open. Repped by Topnotch Management, the former Adidas-sponsored athlete has an endorsement deal with the sports media content company First & Red. Her career earnings to date are $5.17 million including $952,112 in prize earnings. This year women’s single winner at the French Open will take home 2,800,000 euros, or $3.25 million.

Her signature headscarf was something that she started wearing years ago to shield the sun. Shnaider’s parents were concerned that the fair-haired daughter would get sunburned on the courts, but caps and visors reportedly obstructed her view. So Shnaider opted for a headscarf that they bought in a supermarket. By 2023, Shnaider was outsourcing the design of her favorite accessory, by buying the material for a seamstress to design. However, for Wednesday’s upset victory, she appeared to wear a ribbed one with the Yonex logo on it. A Yonex representative deferred an interview request to Topnotch Management, which did not respond to requests for comment.
The American men’s singles player Frances Tiafoe copied the look last year by sporting a blue headscarf with white polka dots at last year’s Cincinnati Open. He gave her credit for the choice via Instagram inspiration on Instagram with “New look?? Appreciate u _di_shnaider_ .”

For the fifth year in a row, the Atlanta Falcons could enter the season with a new starting quarterback. The team is having an open competition between Michael Penix Jr. and veteran Tua Tagovailoa for the QB1 job.
Tagovailoa seems to have the early advantage being the healthier of the two quarterbacks, and his veteran experience could help him secure the job. Nonetheless, the Falcons are going to make sure the best man wins the job.
The national media seems to be convinced that it's Tagovailoa's gig to lose, but that doesn't mean we won't see both quarterbacks in 2026. In fact, Tua was listed as one of Bleacher Report's eight quarterbacks who could be benched this season.
"Another significant injury would quickly open the door for Penix or Trevor Siemian, as would a stretch of poor play," wrote B/R's Kristopher Knox. "Atlanta doesn't have much invested in the former Miami Dolphins starter, and if Tagovailoa can't deliver a playoff run, the Falcons will give Penix another chance to prove he can be the long-term answer. Of course, if Tagovailoa and Penix both battle injuries and/or underwhelm, Siemian could end up steering the ship down the stretch while the Falcons eye that 2027 QB class."
Tagovailoa was benched late in the 2025 season by the Miami Dolphins, leading to his release over the offseason. The Falcons were able to land Tua for the veteran minimum, which was a savvy move that gives the team another starting-caliber QB without paying an arm and a leg (aka the Kirk Cousins contract).

Tennessee baseball announced on June 4 that it has fired pitching coach Josh Reynolds.
“I want to thank Josh Reynolds for his hard work and dedication to the Tennessee baseball program during his two seasons in Knoxville, but I have decided it’s best for our program to move in a different direction from a pitching standpoint at this time," coach Josh Elander said in a school release.
Reynolds spent two seasons with the Vols, first as director of baseball operations and pitching performance in 2025 before being promoted for Elander's first season as head coach in 2026. He replaced Frank Anderson, who followed former coach Tony Vitello to the San Francisco Giants when Vitello was hired as their manager in October 2025.
Tennessee had a team ERA of 4.72 this season as it went 38-22.

Showing strong hedge fund and Wall Street support, Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ:LRCX) ranks among the best AI infrastructure stocks and carries an upside potential of 21.0% (street high). Wafer fab equipment demand is getting a significant rerating from Wall Street, and Lam Research is one of the clearest beneficiaries. Thus, ****** yst sentiment on Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ:LRCX) remains strong as of June 1, 2026, with a street-high price target of $385 and 29 of 36 ****** ysts maintaining bullish ratings.
For illustration purposes only. Photo from Pixabay/Pexels
The most recent upgrade came on May 27, 2026, when Mizuho raised its price target on Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ:LRCX) to $380 from $330 and kept an “Outperform” rating.
The firm lifted its wafer fab equipment spending estimate for 2026 to $153 billion from $142 billion, and for 2027 to $190 billion from $163 billion. Mizuho argued that current earnings estimates for Lam Research, Applied Materials, and MKS remain underestimated, with the wafer fab equipment ****** e continuing to benefit from NAND node transitions, TSMC spending, and DRAM and high bandwidth memory pricing strength.
That followed a May 18, 2026, upgrade from Morgan Stanley, which moved Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ:LRCX) to “Overweight” from “Equal Weight” with a price target of $331, up from $293. The firm said its DRAM wafer fab equipment revisions have narrowed and that it has grown more constructive on NAND revisions from here, citing confidence in Lam’s 2027 share gains.

The foundation has been poured; now the Kentucky Wildcats are looking to build the walls with 18 commitments already secured, and the Wildcats are sitting inside the 247 Sports Top 25 at No. 14 nationally. Will Stein enters another critical June recruiting weekend with momentum on his side. But as every successful recruiting class eventually learns, June isn't about protecting your position—it's about elevating it. This weekend could determine whether Kentucky's 2027 haul remains a solid class or transforms into one capable of competing with the SEC's recruiting powers.
Several of the Wildcats' top remaining targets will descend on Lexington over the next few days, including blue-chip pass rushers, elite offensive linemen, and impact defensive backs. For Stein and his staff, it's another opportunity to prove that Kentucky is no longer simply trying to keep pace in the SEC—it intends to challenge for territory traditionally controlled by college football's heavyweights.
Every recruiting weekend needs a centerpiece. This one begins with Indianapolis Warren Central No. 18 LB Sean Fox.
The explosive Navy All-American originally planned to visit Kentucky later this month but moved his official visit up, a move that speaks volumes about where the Wildcats stand in his recruitment. Kentucky held significant momentum throughout the spring before Georgia and Clemson intensified their pursuit. Now comes the most important stretch.
Fox has already experienced Athens. He's already seen Clemson. This weekend gives Kentucky its opportunity to remind him why the Wildcats sat atop his board earlier in the process. The battle won't be easy. Few programs win many head-to-head recruiting wars against Georgia and Clemson. But Kentucky doesn't need history this weekend.

Although FC Nantes will be playing in Ligue 2 next season after finishing 17th in the table, Anthony Lopes (35) will remain in Ligue 1 for a few more months.
With his contract with Les Canaris due to expire next June, the Portuguese goalkeeper is set to sign a two-year deal with SCO Angers, according to L’Équipe. An option for a further year has also been included in the deal.
Having enjoyed a satisfying season on a personal level, Lopes will bring all his experience (he has played 427 matches in the French league, the majority for Olympique Lyonnais) to an Angers side now bereft of Hervé Koffi (29), whose loan from RC Lens came to an end at the close of the season.
A starter in all 31 matches he played for Nantes this season (17 of them as captain), Lopes kept six clean sheets and conceded a total of 51 goals.

The New England Patriots have made a change to their offseason program schedule.
According to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, the Patriots moved their mandatory minicamp from June 15-17 to June 9-11, as head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed to media members on Tuesday.
The Patriots will hold their mandatory minicamp for veteran players, as stipulated in the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement. Physicals will be administered on June 8, before the team goes through on-field activities.
New England’s second practice of the minicamp will entail walkthroughs only. No live contact will be permitted throughout the three days of the mandatory camp.
The Patriots acquired superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on June 1, changing the complexion of their roster even further this spring. They will continue to get Brown and the team into shape once the mandatory minicamp takes place next week.

The 2025 Kentucky Wildcats football team struggled to create explosive plays on offense, especially at wide receiver. However, Kendrick Law was an exception. He showed off his speed and athleticism multiple times, an it got him drafted by the Detroit Lions in this year's NFL draft.
Unfortunately, Law's NFL debut is going to have to wait. On Thursday, Lions head coach Dan Campbell told reporters that Law tore his ACL at practice. That will almost certainly end his rookie season before it had a chance to begin.
Law began his college career with the Alabama Crimson Tide as a top 100 recruit. He spent three seasons there, but wasn't able to break out, and transferred to Kentucky prior to his senior season. In his lone season in Lexington, he finally showed what he could do, recording 53 receptions, 540 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
The Lions selected Law with the 168th overall pick, a fifth rounder, to play alongside Jameson Williams and Amon-Ra St. Brown. It was a good landing spot with room for him to earn some playing time. Now, he'll have to wait until 2027.
It's an unfortunate injury for any player, especially a rookie picked in the later rounds. We wish Law the best in his recovery, and hope to see him on the field in the future.

After it was clear FC St. Pauli and Alexander Blessin would part ways, the Hanseatic club are looking for an instant successor as coach.
Now, according to Sky Germany's sources, the recently relegated Bundesliga side are said to be interested in Marcel Rapp.
The 47-year-old led Holstein Kiel to the Bundesliga in 2024 and was initially allowed to stay even after their immediate relegation.
However, when demotion back to the 3. Liga loomed in the 2025-26 campaign, Kiel wasted no time in giving Rapp the chop.
According to Sky, an agreement between Rapp – who was recently linked with Arminia Bielefeld – and FC St. Pauli is still pending.

GREEN BAY – Less than a year ago, while still rehabbing from his torn ACL late in the 2024 season, Christian Watson got a little patience from the Green Bay Packers with a one-year extension.
It provided a runway for Watson to return without the pressure of a contract expiration hanging over him. More time to prove he was back to full speed.
Turns out, he didn’t need it.
Watson reached an agreement on a second extension June 4, a four-year, $110.5 million deal that will retain the Packers’ top receiver long term, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The deal includes a $31 million signing bonus and dwarfs the one-year extension worth up to $13.25 million he signed last September.
The new extension makes Watson the NFL’s 15th-highest-paid receiver at $27.625 million annually. Watson might have scaled higher on the market with a healthy season this fall, but much like Jayden Reed did earlier this offseason, opted for more security up front.

Just days after acquiring Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns, the Los Angeles Rams are giving their new superstar a raise. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, Garrett and the Rams have agreed to a reworked contract.
Florio doesn’t have the full details of Garrett’s new contract, but it’s a five-year deal and there are options available through 2038. Previously, Garrett was signed through 2030.
The Rams are giving Garrett a $35.7 million signing bonus and his salary will be at least $1.3 million, which means his total pay for 2026 will be at least $37 million. Previously, he was set to make $31.5 million, so that’s a raise of at least $5.5 million.

Barely 12 hours had passed when Chet Holmgren had to face the music once again. With a face filled with shell-shock, the All-NBA talent's summer will be haunted by his four-point goose egg in a Game 7 loss that ended their ambitions to be back-to-back champions.
The Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the San Antonio Spurs in an epic seven-game series. The 2026 Western Conference Finals were for the Larry O'Brien in most folks' eyes. Remains to be seen if they're right, but no denying both 60-plus-win machines showed why they were in a tier of their own all year.
When you face a team of that high quality with those types of stakes on the line, it really exposes your weaknesses to the forefront for the entire NBA-sphere to see. In OKC's case, injuries finally caught up. Being without Jalen Williams and Ajay Mitchell for most of the series was a death blow they couldn't overcome.
The Thunder have been superb at overcoming injuries all season. To the point they went an NBA-best 64-18 in the regular season and swept their first two playoff opponents. But against the Spurs, you needed all hands on deck. Instead, being without two of your three best scorers and ball-handlers absolutely damaged their ******* le odds.
Another takeaway from the series? Holmgren has a Spurs problem.

Dominik Szoboszlai has been named Liverpool’s Player of the Year following a season that showcased his talent, versatility and relentless commitment to the cause. The Hungarian midfielder secured the honour after receiving more than two-thirds of the supporters’ vote, underlining just how influential he has become within Arne Slot’s **** le-winning side.
According to the original source published by Liverpool FC, Szoboszlai collected the club’s Standard Chartered Men’s Player of the Season award for the first time, capping a campaign in which he established himself as one of the Premier League’s most complete midfielders.
Awards can often be shaped by moments. This one felt shaped by months of excellence. Across the season, Szoboszlai delivered quality with such regularity that his performances became part of Liverpool’s rhythm. Week after week, he drove the team forward with energy, intelligence and technical class.
The numbers reinforce the impression. He made 53 appearances from Liverpool’s 57 matches, starting every game in which he featured. In an era of intense fixture schedules and relentless demands, that level of availability was almost as impressive as his output.
For much of the season, Liverpool relied on Szoboszlai to provide balance between creativity and industry. He responded with 13 goals and 12 **** ists, leading the squad in the latter category.

Ted Danson has revealed he will "apologise for the rest of (his) life" for doing a roast of Whoopi Goldberg in Blackface.
During an appearance on an episode of the podcast Who's With Me?, Danson expressed his enduring regret over the 1993 incident.
The Cheers actor had been romantically involved with Goldberg at the time, and took part in a private event at the New York Friars Club that included jokes about the couple's ***** life and racial slurs.
The roast sparked a backlash from the crowd attending, as well as New York City's first Black mayor, David N. ***** ins, and Danson remains horrified at his behaviour.
"I need to and want to apologise for the rest of my life because somebody today can go on the internet and go, 'What the f**k? Wow, I feel betrayed, I feel angry.' And I did that," the 78-year-old actor shared.
Danson went on to reveal that his romance with Goldberg had been fizzling out at the time, and he had attempted to remove himself from the roast. However, the star claimed he had to go ahead with the appearance because the Friars Club had "sold so many tickets".

Upon hearing the news about Myles Garrett, many reacted with a strange combination of fear and relief. There's no other way to put it. For a brief second, thoughts were juggled about how dangerous Garrett and Jared Verse would be as a tandem. Then, we all dug a little deeper.
Verse was part of the trade package that sent Garrett from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams. Whew… That was close. No one was ever going to be able to stop L.A.'s pass rush with those two monsters together. Then came the angle relative to the Baltimore Ravens.
Garrett is finally out of the AFC North! Oh come on! You know you cracked a smile. Following an OTA practice session that was open to the Baltimore media, Zay Flowers took some time to wipe the sweat from his brow.
Most Ravens fans can relate. Something isn't being talked about enough, though. Jared Verse isn't some slouch. Sure, the Browns no longer have the game's best defensive player on their roster, but by moving him, they added the guy who is very capable of taking that ******* le from him at some point.
Cleveland also added draft capital to help them continue building their roster. In addition to Verse, they receive a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick. That's a nice haul. If they hit the target with those choices. They can certainly continue upgrading their roster.

The Florida State are pounding the pavement in an effort to bolster their 2027 recruiting class. Last weekend, four-star running back Jayden Miles was on campus for an official visit.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder has been a top priority for the Seminoles, and his latest trip to Tallahassee has shaken up things in his recruitment. He's still scheduled to visit the Ohio State Buckeyes this weekend, but he will no longer be taking official visits with the LSU Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats.
According to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals, FSU has ascended immensely when it comes to Miles. He has updated his RMP forecast in favor of Florida State landing the Baton Rouge Catholic High School star. Of course, everything will depend on what Ohio State does in their final attempt to persuade Miles, but this is very encouraging news for the Seminoles as they look to secure their first running back pledge in 2027.
Recent quarterback commit, three-star Logan Flaherty, mentioned earlier this week that he'd be visiting FSU throughout the summer to help with recruiting. He was also on campus last weekend when Miles was there, and he has been in contact with him about committing to Florida State. Apparently, he's doing a great job in that respect.
Miles has set his commitment date for July 4. They can't let up this close to the finish line. In fact, they need to dig in even more to get him to commit.
