A family trip to Dollywood took an unexpected turn for Britney Spears after footage from one of the park's rides sparked criticism online. The pop star documented her excitement while riding a spinning attraction during the outing with her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James Federline. However, some viewers objected to her repeatedly yelling an expletive at the family-oriented theme park. One critic branded Spears "clueless and classless," while another accused her of deliberately attracting attention despite covering her face to avoid being recognized.

Laura Bell Bundy's childhood theater résumé includes an unlikely casting sequence: Britney Spears and Natalie Portman both served as her understudy in the same Off-Broadway musical before either became famous.
Bundy originated Tina Denmark in the 1992 production of Ruthless!, with Spears holding the understudy job first and Portman replacing her later. "Britney Spears was my understudy," Bundy recalled during a new episode of Hey Dude... The 90s Called!, according to Entertainment Weekly. "And then Natalie Portman was my understudy when Britney left."
Tina is an eight-year-old performer determined to play Pippi Longstocking in her school musical, with the dark comedy taking that ambition to murderous extremes. Bundy was still a child herself when she took on the role that became one of her first major stage credits.
Ruthless! opened at New York's Players Theatre on March 13, 1992 and ran for 342 performances before closing Jan. 24, 1993.
Bundy told PEOPLE that Spears was only a few months younger than she was. She remembered knowing Spears during the production but said the two did not spend much time playing together outside work.

Pistons rumors: Jalen Duren feels 'disrespected' amid Detroit extension stalemate appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
As All-NBA center Jalen Duren and the Detroit Pistons inch closer to the October 1 deadline, there are reportedly no signs of the two reaching an agreement. Duren and the Pistons remain at a stalemate amid negotiations on a potential contract extension ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The Sacramento Kings' reported interest in acquiring Duren was mentioned in addition to the All-Star center's frustration. The entire contract negotiating process over his future with the Pistons isn't sitting well with Duren, according to ESPN NBA Today's Marc Spears.
"Scott Perry ain't playing around; neither is BJ Armstrong," Spears said. "Scott Perry has a relationship with Jalen Duren dating back to when he was trying to get the Knicks to draft him, which they did. But they traded him to the Pistons. Scott Perry also has NFL ties from his father. Duren's agent is an NFL agent. So, he has a connection with him, and Duren likes Scott Perry a lot. He likes Sacramento a lot. The Pistons are focused on bringing him back. They have some optimism, but it's complicated.

The Tennessee ***** ans will make their 2026 NFL season debut by hosting the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Week 1 this Sunday. There's so much to learn about these new-look ***** ans. Head coach Robert Saleh and the team's new coordinators Brian Daboll and Gus Bradley will officially make their debuts.
The most important aspect of the ***** ans' 2026 campaign is the development of sophomore quarterback Cam Ward. Coach Daboll is being tasked with overseeing his ascension. The ***** ans' new-look passing game will finally be unveiled versus the Jets.
This is a deep receiving core in Tennessee. Carnell Tate was drafted at fourth overall to grow alongside Ward. Wan'Dale Robinson was signed in free agency for his ability to be a high-volume, reliable weapon. Calvin Ridley is also back, and Elic Ayomanor had an excellent training camp. The ***** ans are four-deep at receiver.
Who do you think will lead the ***** ans in receiving in Week 1? It's an interesting question. Fans would love to see Tate explode after he failed to record a single preseason catch. Robinson should be Ward's most reliable weapon, possibly leading the ***** ans in targets. Ridley is a big-play threat who once played in Daboll's offense at Alabama.
Running backs and tight ends should also be heavily involved in the ***** ans' passing attack. Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Gunnar Helm, and Daniel Bellinger will play notable roles in Daboll's offense. Ward will be tasked with spreading the ball around to a plethora of players.

Former Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons has not played in the NBA since the 2024-25 season when he finished with the Los Angeles Clippers. The No. 1 overall pick of the 2016 draft took a year off after a tumultuous couple of seasons in the league, but is now set to make his return.
Simmons will reportedly sign a 1-year deal with the Sacramento Kings and look to continue his career after such a strong start. Simmons was a 3-time All-Star with the Sixers, won Rookie of the Year in 2018, and made the All-NBA Third Team in 2020. Then injuries took over and the ugly break up in Philadelphia sent him to the Brooklyn Nets in the James Harden deal.

Simmons will look to unleash his elite playmaking and defensive ability in Sacramento and get his game back on the right track. When he was right with the Sixers, he was a fantastic player as he averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.7 ******* ists. The Kings offer him an environment where he can find his game again and come along slowly in order to get back at it.

The Oklahoma Sooners kick off their 2026 college football season on Friday against the University of Texas at El Paso Miners. This will mark the first step of Oklahoma's pursuit of a return to the College Football Playoff.
This season will feature some players who are expected to have an enhanced role compared to last year. One of those is second-year safety Omarion Robinson. The former four-star appeared in nine games last year, totaling just three tackles. He mainly played on special teams. This year, he's listed as the backup to Peyton Bowen and Michael Boganowski at both safety spots.
Head coach Brent Venables revealed at his game week press conference that he can already see Robinson playing with more confidence.
"I see him playing with a different level of confidence than he did a year ago," Venables said. "Just on a different planet from that standpoint. And again, the consistency thing is what jumps out the most. He's earned a lot of trust. The more he plays, the better he gets."
That trust could be especially important for Robinson as Oklahoma looks to maintain the strength of it secondary. The Sooners lost Robert Spears-Jennings to the NFL draft and Jaydan Hardy to the Colorado Buffaloes, creating opportunities for younger safeties behind Bowen and Boganowski.

Sports media is filled with different types of personalities. Some are more performative than others. Often, you'll find differences between a person's on-camera persona and their off-camera nature. Marcus Spears prides himself on being comfortable in his own skin at ESPN. A native son of Baton Rouge, he found his calling at ESPN after a nine-year career in the NFL. Not by being the next man up, but by being authentic to who he truly is.
"The way I am on television is the way I am in life. I don't know any other way to be," says Spears, who's entering his 13th year with ESPN. "I have fortunately ended up in a place around people who embrace me being myself. The truth and the honesty is when that's not accepted anymore, I'll go do something else."
Nicknamed "Swagu" after his playful flair and abundance of "swag," Spears has been a rising star with ESPN since arriving in 2014. From his beginnings at SEC Network to now being one of the network's top NFL ***** ysts, Spears' approach has never changed.
Provide perspective, teach the game and have a great time doing it. The vibes from his appearances are infectious, as his authentic self resonates with the everyday viewer. Spears' tact is intentional. He never wants to talk over the viewer's head, but he also isn't competing for the shine of being the best person at the desk.
"The most important thing is to entertain and make whatever show I'm on something they want to watch with their full attention and having a good time doing it," explained Spears. "The everyday person should feel like they're talking to their friend. That matters. There's so much of this faux competition about who's the best. I don't subscribe to that. The people will determine what they like and don't like."

Britney Spears "felt like a robot" at the height of her fame.
Returning to Instagram on Thursday, the Princess of Pop posted two videos showing her dancing in underwear.
In the accompanying captions, Britney offered insight into her experiences as a young artist and the pain she endured when she was placed under a conservatorship in 2008. The controversial arrangement lasted until November 2021.
"I actually miss the way I respected people so much that there was a genuine mystery of acute oneness when we were together, which was sacred," she began. "I feel like, still to this day, people don't realize the real damage that was done to my heart and soul in the conservatorship."
Britney went on to recall how she felt like "someone different" when performing.
However, her perspective on the entertainment industry shifted after she had her children. The Toxic hitmaker shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with ex-husband Kevin Federline.

While the San Francisco 49ers had invested heavily in their defensive line last year's draft and in free agency, that didn't stop them from addressing the position early on Day 4 of the 2026 NFL draft.
With pick No. 107 overall in the fourth round, San Francisco took Oklahoma defensive tackle Gracen Halton. The 22-year-old earned All-SEC honors once in his four years with the Sooners and recorded 84 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two passes defensed in 47 games.
In his preseason debut against the Tennessee ****** ans, Halton impressed by taking 2025 No. 1 pick Cam Ward (even though the play was negated by a penalty). Then, he shed a block and stuffed running back Tyjae Spears on the very next play for a loss.
His performance caught the attention of teammates Trent Williams, who even compared him to another former 49ers defensive lineman.
"Boomer Sooner, Gracen Halton, you know it. G-Baby, man." Williams said in a recent media availability. "Obviously, Oklahoma guy, so I'm always gonna be a little biased, but I think the world kinda saw what he has to offer. Very explosive. Short-area quickness. Really powerful. He puts you in the mind of D.J. Jones a little bit, what he had when he was here. He definitely impressed."

Stewart, who was traded from the Detroit Pistons on draft night June 24 for three second-round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies, was blunt about the past year with the team that drafted him No. 16 overall in 2020.
"That series didn't go good," Stewart said of the seven-game conference semifinals loss to Cleveland. "I didn't play as much. I just knew it was my last game as a Piston."
Stewart was a big part of the Pistons' turnaround from the worst team in the NBA from 2020-23 to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference in 2025-26.
Spears asked at what point Stewart thought he "might not be in Detroit forever."

Britney Spears' younger son, Jayden James, has made another move into the fashion world, stepping out at a MAC Cosmetics party less than two months after his surprise runway debut in Paris.
The 19-year-old attended MAC's House of Glass event in Los Angeles on Aug. 12 wearing a slouchy black leather jacket over a black top, loose gray jeans and black loafers. Photographers captured him posing solo inside the party.
The event celebrated the company's ****** reglass Sheer-Shine Lipsticks and StainGlass Lip Tints. Gabbriette, rapper JT, Ashtin Earle, Landon Barker, Charlotte Lawrence and Vinnie Hacker were among the other guests, while Just Jared reported that Quinn Blake and Between Friends performed during the evening.
Jayden largely avoided public events while growing up, but the MAC appearance was his third fashion-related outing since May. He first attended Dior's Cruise 2027 show in Los Angeles before joining his older brother, Sean Preston, on the Vetements runway during Paris Men's Fashion Week.
Jayden and Sean's runway debut was not the original plan. Vetements creative director Guram Gvasalia contacted the brothers after seeing photographs of them online, Sean told Vogue. They were initially expected to attend the Spring 2027 menswear show as guests before Gvasalia decided to cast them as models.

Ben Simmons continues to make major strides amid his NBA comeback bid, reportedly participating "with zero restrictions at a player-led private minicamp for the Australian men's basketball team" this week.
However, Simmons' latest offseason highlights did little to win over the NBA world, instead reigniting familiar mockery of the 2016 No. 1 pick.
At his peak, Simmons was viewed as one of the NBA's premier defenders and facilitators, with his 6-foot-10 frame placing him among the league's most unique players. Unfortunately for the 30-year-old, a combination of injuries and mental confidence blocks amid mounting scrutiny contributed to his sharp decline.
Amid Simmons' up-and-down basketball journey, 3-point shooting has remained a constant weakness, as he has shot a meager 5-for-36 (13.9%) for his career. While the three-time All-Star has struggled to demonstrate in-game shooting improvements, his ability to thrive in offseason settings has long been a source of confusion and irritation.
After sitting out the entire 2025-26 season with a back injury, Simmons is angling to make a comeback. Per ESPN's Marc J. Spears, "several NBA teams have expressed interest in Simmons, who is open to signing a minimum contract." Spears added that "one source said he has a non-guaranteed offer on the table for training camp with a Western Conference team."

Today was the first day of full pads, and the media was allowed to view the usual three periods, which is about 12–15 minutes.
During that session, I spent time hitting each position group, but the groups I spent the most time with were the edges, offensive line, QBs, and skill positions.
Let's start with the DBs and linebackers. Faheem Delane was still working with the first unit at the safety position. He looked really good in the limited amount of time I was able to view him. They were primarily focusing on alignment, depth, and having good eye discipline.
As for the linebackers, TJ Dottery and Whit Weeks were TJ Dottery and Whit Weeks. Nothing more needs to be said. Davion Keys was looking very crisp throughout the individual periods as well.
During the portion of practice where I watched the star position, I was able to see CJ Jimcoily, and he looks like a great fit for this spot. Dashawn Spears is the guy, but it's comforting knowing he has great depth behind him.

We don't expect to see much if any, of the Steelers top edge defenders, but this will be a great chance to see how far Jack Sawyer has come since his rookie season.
Rookie cornerback Daylen Everett and safety Robert Spears-Jennings have been tremendous in camp and we can't wait to see them go against the Packers offense on Thursday night as they put up the depth chart.

New York Daily News | Gary Philips: Jazz Chisholm Jr. has lost himself a considerable amount of money in his pending free agency with his downright bad 2026. The Yankee second baseman has managed just a 92 wRC+ with a career high strikeout rate, and of course self-proclaimed that he'd be able to land a 50/50 season in spring training. Jazz hasn't been the only problem with the team's offense of course, but he's been a major contributor — or rather, non-contributor. If nothing else he seems to at least be aware of it, but awareness is different from adjustment.
NJ.com | Adam Zagoria: Tommy John released a very sad public farewell to the Yankee franchise and fanbase over the weekend, as the 83 year old enters hospice care with bladder cancer. Dr. Chris Ahmad, the club's head doctor, penned his own touching open letter to the man on Monday, acknowledging John's place in baseball history and remarkable determination to return to the game despite the shortest of odds.
New York Post | Ethan Spears ($): The Yankees will not have a clear path through the AL without Aaron Judge returning and hitting like we're used to seeing Aaron Judge hit. Cody Bellinger will also likely need to be back, patrolling left field and hitting cleanup. However, the emergence of both George Lombard Jr. and Spencer Jones as potential lineup-lengtheners give the club a couple more options, although relying on rookies — including one with just five games under his belt — to be reliable contributors through their first taste of MLB baseball is a risky endevor.
FanGraphs | Jay Jaffe: Gerrit Cole and Max Scherzer have been contemporaries atop the "best pitchers in baseball" list over the last decade or so, and they mirrored each other in strikeout accomplishments over the weekend. Scherzer fanned the 3,516th victim of his career on Saturday, moving into the top-10 in all of baseball history, and moments later Cole sat down the 1,000th batter as a Yankee, the fastest to do so in pinstripes, needing just 139 games. Both pitchers are closer to their enshrinement in Cooperstown than they are to having lost prospect status, but we can still mark the milestones when they come.

Ben Simmons is set to be a full participant without any restrictions at a player-led minicamp for the Australian men's basketball team this week, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears.
Simmons is an Australian native and is working to make the team for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. He's played for the Boomers twice in his career at the 2013 FIBA Men's Oceania Championships when he was 17, but he missed the next three Olympics.
The private minicamp will start on Monday in Melbourne. Simmons, per the report, paid his own way to attend.
Simmons, who the Philadelphia 76ers selected with the No. 1 overall pick back in 2016, has struggled in recent years. He last played for the Los Angeles Clippers in 2025, but only appeared in 23 total games and was rather unproductive. He then missed all of last season while recovering from various injuries. At one point, Simmons even said he'd play for the 76ers again for free, given the opportunity.
Simmons hasn't played in more than 60 games in a season since the 2018-19 campaign while battling injuries. According to Simmons' godfather David Patrick, who is both an **** istant at Arizona State and for the Australian national team, Simmons has regained his athleticism.
