Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick has played down concerns surrounding Mason Mount after the midfielder was forced to leave the field early during the club's 1-1 pre-season draw against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

Mount has made only 25 Premier League starts out of a possible 114 since arriving at Old Trafford, underlining the extent to which injuries have disrupted his time at the club.

Carrick was encouraged by United's overall showing against PSG, despite the French side taking the lead through Ibrahim Mbaye.

Bryan Mbeumo eventually restored parity for United, who created opportunities to take all three points against the reigning European champions.

"I enjoyed it. Good challenge. Slightly different with the way they play. We should've scored more goals. It's good for the boys sometimes to have to problem solve and find their own way, and I thought we did that. That prepares them for the season as well," Carrick said.

United have two more pre-season fixtures remaining before beginning their Premier League campaign against newly-promoted Hull City on August 22.

The demanding schedule has reignited the debate over balancing franchise commitments with national duties, particularly for Australia's leading fast bowlers.
Despite the congested calendar, McDonald insisted that the IPL continues to play an important role in Australia's player management strategy.

A pageant queen recently crowned Miss North Carolina USA has been stripped of her ****** le after a string of alleged racist posts resurfaced.
Brittany Boltinhouse, 27, was formally dethroned on Wednesday by pageant organizers A Blaize Productions after what it said was "a thorough review of recently surfaced information".
The organization did not disclose what Boltinhouse had allegedly posted but said the decision had been taken after "careful consideration, multiple conversations, and in consultation with the Miss USA Organization".
The organization said it believes "people are capable of growth" and that "grace and accountability can coexist" but the organization must also uphold the standards and values expected of ****** leholders.
Boltinhouse won the ****** le in June and has been preparing to represent North Carolina at the 75th annual Miss USA pageant in Miami later this month.

National League South club Ebbsfleet United have been suspended from competition due to unpaid debts and will not fulfil their first three fixtures of the new season.
The National League issued a statement after a Compliance and Licensing Committee meeting on Wednesday confirming the club were unable "to meet its financial obligations throughout the 2026-27 season".
"Following careful consideration, the Committee has taken the decision under applicable regulations to suspend Ebbsfleet United FC, with a review to be undertaken by the Committee on 19 August," the League said.
"As a result of suspension, at this time, the club will not be able to fulfil the opening three fixtures of the coming season."
It means their trip to Slough Town on Saturday, Folkestone Invicta's visit to the Kuflink Stadium on 15 August and their match away at Chelmsford City two days later on 17 August will all be rescheduled.
