For Uhler, that appointment set in motion what she calls the "wakeup call" she "needed."

That same weekend, Uhler opens up about the moment she jumped into a foam pit at a trampoline park while playing with her children. "I got stuck, and ****** ody could get me out," she says. "Three big, beefy muscle men formed a human chain to try to pull me out, and even they couldn't do it, and they thought they were going to have to call the fire department. I've never been so humiliated in my life."

Meghan Markle reportedly kept one crucial condition before her husband, Prince Harry, amid their reported UK return. As per new claims, the former actress only agreed to return to the UK for a "six-month test run." This tidbit of news has surfaced as multiple media outlets have reported that the Sussexes will be shifting back to the UK by the end of the month. Previously, the couple stepped down from their role as working royals in January 2020 and relocated to the U.S.
Sources attached to Rob Shuter revealed that Meghan Markle reportedly agreed to her husband Prince Harry's return to the UK on one condition. The Suits star only agreed to return to the UK for a "six-month test run." Not only that, the couple will keep their Montecito and Portugal homes and live in non-royal accommodation in the UK.
Markle still sees California as their permanent home and reportedly does not view this move as a permanent shift. The former actress is reportedly not entirely comfortable with the UK move as she does not have a strong support system in the country. Markle has spent her life in the U.S. and wants to keep that possibility open. Insiders dished to Rob Shuter: "Meghan is agreeing to try it, but she isn't moving back to Britain. Six months is the test. She wants an exit strategy."
As per sources, the Sussexes are trying to navigate this idea because Harry's heart lies in Britain, his home country. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly keen to reconnect with his ageing father, King Charles, and his older brother Prince William while spending more time near the royal family. Markle, on the other hand, is reportedly not too interested in mending ties with her husband's side of the family.

Hayden Panettiere's death this week, just five days before her 37th birthday, marks the latest tragic end for a child star. In recent months, Panettiere had become more transparent about the trauma, including **** ual exploitation, she endured as a young actress. The timing of her death is tragic both in light of her age and how recently she appeared to have been winning her fight against addiction. Her efforts to reclaim her autonomy should be acknowledged for what she overcame — and for what fame does to child stars.
Panettiere began appearing in commercials at just 11 months old; by age 5, she'd been in 50. Her breakout role came at age 10, playing a coach's spirited daughter in "Remember the **** ans." Her multiseason portrayals of an indestructible cheerleader on the television series "Heroes" and a troubled country music star on ABC's "Nashville" made her a cultural fixture to millennials.
For decades, the autonomy, safety and happiness of child stars were not a priority for insatiable audiences nor the Hollywood industrial complex. If Panettiere's accounts are any guide, they still aren't.
Off set, however, Panettiere struggled at basically every turn: with an onerous mother, from whom Panettiere was estranged for much of her adult life; drug addiction; alcoholism; depression; and multiple rehab stints. New York Times reporter and best-selling author Jonathan Swan inadvertently dropped an f-bomb while speaking about Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, the recently released book he wrote with his co-author Maggie Haberman at a Quaker school in Washington, D.C. this week.
Swan and Haberman addressed an audience at Sidwell Friends School on behalf of the legendary D.C. bookstore, Politics and Prose.
The moderator, Tim Alberta with The Atlantic, asked the authors about the book's dark humor.
"I'm wondering if that was intentional or if it was cathartic, or if it was needed for the two of you. Because one of the questions that I saw that was submitted to us is, 'How did the two of you keep your sanity in this process?'" he wondered.
"Well, in order to keep sanity, you have to have it in the first place," Swan said to audience laughter. "And I'm not even being glib. Like, we're not exactly stable people. We both work like maniacs. You know us. We have, you know, killed ourselves for many, many years reporting on this. Jimmie Allen has been ordered to pay $1.8 million (£1.36 million) to a woman who sued him over accusations that he ****** ually ****** aulted and secretly filmed her in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Judge Aleta A Trauger ruled on Thursday 18 June that the country star be held liable by default for ****** ault and invasion of privacy in August after he ignored multiple court deadlines.
In a court order, the Big Shot singer was told to pay the accuser $597,000 (£452,000) in compensatory damages and another $1.2 million (£910,000) in punitive damages.
"The evidence shows that Mr Allen intentionally and surreptitiously filmed his ****** ual encounter with plaintiff without her consent," the court report reads. "These intentional acts caused plaintiff to suffer extreme emotional distress and trauma."
In a statement to Billboard, a lawyer for the plaintiff, known as Jane Doe 2, said the sum "recognises the profound trauma Allen inflicted on Jane Doe 2 for his own ****** ual gratification" and "underscores a fundamental principle at the heart of this case: it is never acceptable to record ****** ual activity without a partner's consent".
Thursday's ruling came in one of two civil ****** ual ****** ault lawsuits brought against Allen in 2023, derailing the singer's promising career after a run of No. 1 hits on Billboard's Country Airplay chart.
