LAW AND ORDER: Kering has promoted Sophie Maddaloni, its longtime group tax director, to general secretary of the group, effective immediately.
Maddaloni, who is based in Paris, also joins Kering's executive committee and reports to Jean-Marc Duplaix, group chief operating officer.

This offseason, the Heat witnessed a complete change in its roster. From superstar acquisitions through trade exchanges to top players leaving impressive salaries to join the roster, they saw a major upheaval. However, two players who were unaffected by these events were Andrew Wiggins and Simone Fontecchio.
Both players not only get to continue on the team but were also offered retention; a lifeline offered to only a handful this time. Now, with the next season approaching, the players have to meet high expectations to justify their contracts.
Earlier in the summer, Wiggins exercised the $30.1 million player option for the final year of his contract with Miami. But on June 29, the Heat decided to hand him a two-year, $34 million extension, bringing his term to a three-year, $64 million contract with them overall. He will be getting $16.5 million in 2027-28 and will have the player-option season worth $17.5 million in 2028-29. This is a huge financial security for any player, especially in a team that is aggressively looking to reinvent itself at the cost of its roster.
Wiggins was a dependable starter and brought stability last season,which he needs to continue this year. Wiggins averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.7 ****** ists per game across 68 appearances. Maintaining his distance from defense, the 31-year-old needs to focus on being a high-efficiency 3-and-D wing, a role that saw him shine last year. He knocked down two threes a game at a career-best 41.4% clip in 2025-26.
At his rate, he could surely increase his average and show improvement. For the upcoming season, Wiggins should get perimeter shooting help from Klay Thompson, who he was teammates with in Golden State.

The latest addition to the Formula 1 calendar had already sparked plenty of discussion in the paddock before the weekend. Most of the conversations centred on safety and whether the track around the IFEMA complex would actually prove to be a 'car killer', as several teams feared after the rather chaotic F3 test.
Another aspect that attracted plenty of interest was La Monumental, Turn 12 of the new circuit. It is the corner with 13.5 degrees of banking, which equates to an incline of around 24%.
This is less than the final corner at Zandvoort – the Arie Luyendyk corner has 18 degrees of banking – but despite that, Pirelli describes La Monumental as the toughest corner on the entire F1 calendar for the tyres.
"Basically the peak of the vertical energy is not higher than in other corners that we have in the calendar, like in Qatar, the banking in Zandvoort, et cetera. It's more about the time you are under load and the continuous load that you have," Pirelli's chief engineer Simone Berra explained.
"So basically instead of two or three seconds, you have 5.5 seconds under those loads. So you have double the duty cycle in that area. That is the main thing to keep in mind and what we are considering in our calculations."

While appearing on Caring for Women Dinner's red carpet on Thursday, Domingo said men should stand with women. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "Anytime I've been in rooms like this, I've thought, 'Look at all these female leaders' — but hey, we're the men. Men should be locking arms to make sure women have what they need in access and information and support. I was raised a feminist, and I'll die a feminist."
The actor also shared that supporting such organizations is important for him. He added, "It's always been important to me to stand firm with these organizations — not only in support, but with my presence."
Domingo served as master of ceremonies at the fifth annual fundraiser. Caring for Women Dinner is organized by Kering, the luxury conglomerate, with luxury brands including Gucci, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, and others.
Many stars appeared on the red carpet to support the fundraiser. These included co-hosts Salma Hayek Pinault and her husband, François-Henri Pinault, Simone Biles, Pamela Anderson, Dakota Johnson, and Benicio Del Toro.

In the 82nd minute, Marcus Thuram headed home Inter's equaliser while Napoli defender Amir Rrahmani lay grounded directly in front of goalkeeper Alex Meret. Sozza allowed the goal to stand, deeming that Rrahmani had gone down too softly rather than as the result of a foul by an opposition player.

Ever since the great Claude Rains first uttered the immortal line "Round up the usual suspects!" in Casablanca, the phrase has been ingrained in the popular lexicon — so much so that it inspired the ****** le of an entirely different movie nearly 50 years later. You hear it everywhere, in any context where you can expect to see a predictable set of participants.
On Saturday, a struggling Juventus were buoyed by a pair of very unusual suspects — guys most fans figured would be gone, or at least on their way out the door, by this point in the transfer window. Unable to penetrate a deep-lying Parma defense, it was Nico González who gave a moribund attack an instant shot in the arm, forcing a magical save before scoring a deflected goal off his own rebound to open the scoring. Then, with two minutes left, the game was sealed by another unlikely goalscorer: Teun Koopmeiners, who had just come on after an injury to Andrea Cambiaso and finished off a quick attack with a beautiful finish.
The unlikely redemption arcs from players most ****** umed were out of the team's plans, or at least on the very fringes, were welcome developments for a team that learned this week that their talisman, Kenan Yildiz, would miss two to three months once he undergoes surgery on a broken metatarsal. After a first half that seemed to be crying out for his creativity, it was the transfer-listed González who gave the Bianconeri the necessary spark to take Parma down 2-0 as they began to look forward to next week's big match against AC Milan.
Apart from Yildiz, Luciano Spalletti was also missing Weston McKennie (muscle fatigue), Edon Zhegrova, and Khéphren Thuram, who suffered a setback in his knee recovery and could now require surgery. Jeff Ekhator came back to make his first Juve squad in a competitive game. Spalletti's 4-2-3-1 was therefore shuffled a bit. Guglielmo Vicario started in goal after getting over the cramp that forced him off late against Frosinone. Pierre Kalulu and Zeki Çelik played on the defensive flanks, while Bremer was partnered with new signing Jhon Lucumí in the middle of defense. Enrico Delprato, Mariano Troilo, Dominik Drobnic, and Emanuele Valeri arrayed themselves in front of him. Sascha Britschgi and Mandela Keita bookended Christian Ordóñez and Adrían Bernabé in midfield. El Bilal Touré and Simone Lontani started up front. Drobnic and Lontani were both teenagers, and the former was making his debut.

Simone Ashley may have a new romance in her life after spending much of the past year saying she wanted to take her time before entering another relationship.
The 31-year-old Bridgerton star was photographed holding hands with Jay Jammal during an August 23 outing in London's Notting Hill neighborhood. Just Jared identified Jammal as a senior account executive at Soho Communications, while neither he nor Ashley has publicly defined their relationship.
The outing looked considerably more casual than a red-carpet debut. Ashley wore a short yellow dress and patterned blue bandana while she and Jammal walked dogs through the neighborhood, and photographs showed the two smiling and holding hands.
It is the first time Ashley and Jammal have been publicly photographed together. After the first matchday of Serie A, the talking points we've seen are the usual ones: refereeing decisions, the transfer market still being open, the post-match reactions where some vent by criticizing and others take little digs as a strategy.
The routine we waited for all summer, however, mustn't put us on autopilot, because something different happened: young Italians actually played. It seems unbelievable, but it's true: Mattia Liberali, Simone Lontani, Alessandro Romano (Swiss with dual citizenship), Emanuele Lulli, Alphadjo Cisse and Alessio Cacciamani took the field.
Some did so as starters, others came off the bench: for not all of them was it their absolute Serie A debut, but the wider public really discovered them just a few days ago. The comparison with the other top European leagues is still a long way off (to put it kindly), but at least we're trying: "Better something than nothing," as Gianni Brera would have said.
After an excellent pre-season with Milan and Ruben Amorim's imprimatur in a press conference, Alphadjo Cisse (without the accent, as he himself wanted to point out) made his debut at San Siro and scored the first Serie A goal of his career. He handled the ball well in traffic, pressed constantly and, above all, scored at the decisive moment.
During the summer he trained on his own in Montesilvano (Abruzzo) to get back into shape after tearing his adductor tendon, an injury that had cut short an excellent season with Aquilani's Catanzaro. Throughout July, Sassuolo and Torino wanted him on loan, but Amorim chose to keep him and throw him in. He is already repaying that faith.

Genoa sporting director Diego Lopez has been suspended until 8 September for his conduct following Saturday's defeat to Napoli.
According to Il Fatto Quotidiano, Serie A disciplinary judge Gerardo Mastrandrea found that Lopez improperly entered the pitch at full time despite not being listed on the matchday sheet, repeatedly contested a refereeing decision while adopting an aggressive attitude, continued those protests in the dressing room area and briefly prevented the referee from closing his own dressing room door.

MILAN (AP) — Cristian Chivu's brand of brotherly love could be just what Serie A champion Inter Milan needs to dominate Italian soccer again this season.
More than a few eyebrows were raised when the inexperienced Chivu was hired last year to replace Simone Inzaghi as Inter coach. The Nerazzurri were fresh off a 5-0 thrashing by Paris Saint-Germain in the most lopsided Champions League final in history.
"Everyone was thinking that Inter was, let's say dying, after what happened," Inter midfielder Hakan Çalhanoğlu said in a recent interview with beIN Sports Australia.
Chivu had only ever overseen 13 matches in Serie A but his fresh approach as a coach and new ideas reinvigorated Inter as he steered the Nerazzurri to the Italian league and cup double.
Moreover, the 45-year-old Chivu's closeness to the players has pulled the team even more together.

Thus far, 2026 has been chastening for the fallen giants of world football. For Italy, it has been the year of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bodo/Glimt, the Balkan team meaning a third consecutive World Cup took place without the Azzurri, the Norwegian side eliminating Inter Milan from the Champions League. There were other indications of decline – a Champions League table with the reigning Scudetto winners Napoli in 30th or Italy's sole representatives in the last 16, Atalanta, going down 10-2 on aggregate to Bayern Munich – and they combined to paint a bleak picture.
So if Serie A returns with the sense its best days are behind it, some of its historic forces have the same feel. And yet that provided some of the drama last season: two of Italy's three most decorated clubs, AC Milan and Juventus, spurned promising positions to miss out on Champions League qualification. They will instead be the biggest clubs in the Europa League after being leapfrogged by Cesc Fabregas' insurgents from Como. The third of Italy's traditional powers, Inter, cruised to their 21st Scudetto in Cristian Chivu's first campaign in charge; equalling his predecessor Simone Inzaghi's total of Serie A **** les was at least compensation for faring far worse in Europe.
His rivals this year are set to be a mixture of the familiar, with Serie A's capacity to recycle its managers, and an intriguing newcomer. A division where clubs have been starved of funds features two expensive arrivals from Paris St-Germain, charged with bringing goals to the underachievers, and a further influx of English defenders.
Chivu will share San Siro with Ruben Amorim who, in the way Serie A's fortunes have nosedived, seemed the man AC Milan ended up with rather than perhaps wanted, given interest in Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola. It is nevertheless an opportunity the Portuguese did not earn with his wretched spell in charge of Manchester United.
He will presumably import his flagship 3-4-3; whether Luka Modric, who turns 41 next month, wants to be in a central-midfield duo remains to be seen but Milan have backed Amorim by allowing him to make the biggest signing in the Serie A summer: his fellow Portuguese Goncalo Ramos for a club record €74m (£63.3m). It at least should ensure wingers Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic are no longer an ersatz strike duo, even if Amorim's record with centre-forwards was better in Portugal than England.

Al-Hilal want to offload Karim Benzema (38), as is Simone Inzaghi's wish, whilst the former France international is also keen to leave the Saudi club, as per a report from Sacha Tavolieri.Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins (30) is viewed as a potential replacement.
Inzaghi wants to sell Benzema and Al-Hilal are therefore taking steps in order to fulfil this wish. However, it is a complicated procedure, as the former Real Madrid forward's contract is financed by Saudi authorities, as well as by the club. It is, therefore, not simply about finding an agreement between the player and the club. Benzema, meanwhile, wants to leave on a free transfer, but also wants to be paid the final year of his contract. That option is not favoured by Al-Hilal, the Saudi Pro League, or the Saudi authorities, all of whom are stakeholders in any potential deal.
In any case, Al-Hilal have identified a potential replacement in the form of England international Watkins. However, without the Benzema situation being resolved, no progress can be made in the recruitment of the Aston Villa forward. Benzema's exit is, therefore, a priority for Al-Hilal… but perhaps not for the other stakeholders in the deal.
