Juventus are still hoping to shift Jonathan David before the close of the summer transfer window and the latest updates claim that Atletico Madrid have submitted a formal offer for the Canada international.
David joined Juventus on a free transfer last summer after five productive years in Ligue 1 with Lille, but failed to convince in Serie A in a disappointing season on a personal and collective level, which resulted in a fifth-place finish and no Champions League football for 2026-27.

According to the latest reports from Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid have recently submitted an official offer to sign David on loan with an option to buy and that the Canada international is 'open' to joining Diego Simeone's side.

Juventus have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur to sign midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano.
The 'talented' Senegal international will join Juventus in a deal worth up to €30 million, starting with an initial loan that includes an option to buy.
However, the option to buy will become mandatory if certain performance-related conditions are met, such as Juventus qualifying for the Champions League and Sarr reaching set appearance targets during the campaign.
Talks between the clubs accelerated after Sarr requested a new challenge away from North London.
The midfielder faced increased competition for places under Roberto De Zerbi following the additions of moves for Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.

Manchester United and Juventus are locked in talks over a deal for Joshua Zirkzee.
That's according to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that negotiations between the two sides are in 'full swing'.
Juventus have submitted a £2.1 million loan offer, which would include a £25.6m buy option for the end of the season.
However, with United keen to get their money's worth for the 25-year-old, they are angling for the buyout fee to be closer to £30m.
Zirkzee was an unused substitute for the second successive game yesterday as United claimed a 5-2 win – their first of the season – over Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.

Alonso sprang a surprise by naming Martinez in the starting line-up - less than four hours after his £7.5m move was confirmed by the club.
It is a lifeline for Martinez, who turns 34 next week and fell out of favour at Aston Villa following a failed move to Juventus and the arrival of **** an's Zion Suzuki as Unai Emery's first-choice keeper.
The World Cup winner's every catch was cheered on by the Stamford Bridge faithful during an **** ured display in goal, though he was unlucky to concede two of Brighton's three goals, his save landing on the feet of Yalcouye for the opener and then getting undone by Joao Pedro's own goal.
His best moment came just before Brighton's second when he made a sharp diving save from Diego Gomez and he also denied Olivier Boscagli and Brighton a third, which would have levelled the score.
Chelsea have spent heavily across the pitch under their new ownership, but for many, a reliable goalkeeper was the missing piece.

Nottingham Forest have enquired about the possibility of signing Liverpool goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Oliver Glasner wants to add a new first-choice goalkeeper to his squad before the deadline, and Forest have had an offer turned down for former loanee Dean Henderson of Crystal Palace.
According to journalistMatteo Moretto, Forest have contacted Liverpool to discuss Mamardashvili's availability. The Georgia international joined Liverpool from Valencia for an initial fee of £25m last summer and made 10 Premier League appearances last season.
The 25-year-old is understood to feel frustrated about his role heading into the current campaign, with Alisson Becker remaining at Anfield as number one goalkeeper, despite speculation over a potential move to Juventus.
Liverpool also have issues around registration rules. Clubs can register a maximum of 17 players not classed as a 'homegrown player', with the Reds reaching that limit afterthe arrival of Ronald Araujo from Barcelona.

Juventus is open to Nicolas Gonzalez leaving in the final days of this transfer window, but the Bianconeri will not send him out on loan again this summer.
The Argentinian spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and performed well for the Spanish club, who continue to show interest in his signature.
However, Atletico have not met Juve's asking price for his signature, and that could see them struggle to land him during an important transfer window.
The attacker hopes the clubs can find an agreement, and the Bianconeri will be happy to keep him if he does not leave the club during this window.
One achievable solution would be for Gonzalez to leave the club on loan again this summer, but Juve has now blocked that from happening.

After the Women's First Team sealed a 1-0 win over Como Women on Matchday 2 of the 2026/27 Serie A Women's Cup, coach Isaac Guerrero and goalscorer Lea Khelifi shared their thoughts.
"We expected a game like this. When we played them in pre-season, they had only been training for a few days, but we knew their strengths. They play with intensity and energy, and they have a solid game plan even when they are in possession. We knew it'd be tough, especially given the week we'd had, playing three matches in a short period of time. Como come at you aggressively, play player-to-player, and they always try to build when they win the ball back. I have to congratulate them for the game they played.
"As for us, a little more time to prepare would have given us more peace of mind, try a few more things out and give the girls the time they need to settle in. But the schedule is what it is, and we've embraced it as an opportunity.
"The girls have been working on our style of play, while also competing, from day one. We played seven friendlies, and I always saw their desire to win and understanding of what it means to represent Juventus in every one of those games. This run has also allowed us to look at the whole squad, everybody got playing time and they all proved they were up to the task. Even today, some players who had played a little less got minutes, and they performed well without the team's level dropping."
"I'm happy to have scored, but mostly because this was an important win for us. It's a new experience for me, so it's natural that I still need some time to adapt a little, but I feel good in this group, and I hope we can continue like this."

Ever since the great Claude Rains first uttered the immortal line "Round up the usual suspects!" in Casablanca, the phrase has been ingrained in the popular lexicon — so much so that it inspired the ****** le of an entirely different movie nearly 50 years later. You hear it everywhere, in any context where you can expect to see a predictable set of participants.
On Saturday, a struggling Juventus were buoyed by a pair of very unusual suspects — guys most fans figured would be gone, or at least on their way out the door, by this point in the transfer window. Unable to penetrate a deep-lying Parma defense, it was Nico González who gave a moribund attack an instant shot in the arm, forcing a magical save before scoring a deflected goal off his own rebound to open the scoring. Then, with two minutes left, the game was sealed by another unlikely goalscorer: Teun Koopmeiners, who had just come on after an injury to Andrea Cambiaso and finished off a quick attack with a beautiful finish.
The unlikely redemption arcs from players most ****** umed were out of the team's plans, or at least on the very fringes, were welcome developments for a team that learned this week that their talisman, Kenan Yildiz, would miss two to three months once he undergoes surgery on a broken metatarsal. After a first half that seemed to be crying out for his creativity, it was the transfer-listed González who gave the Bianconeri the necessary spark to take Parma down 2-0 as they began to look forward to next week's big match against AC Milan.
Apart from Yildiz, Luciano Spalletti was also missing Weston McKennie (muscle fatigue), Edon Zhegrova, and Khéphren Thuram, who suffered a setback in his knee recovery and could now require surgery. Jeff Ekhator came back to make his first Juve squad in a competitive game. Spalletti's 4-2-3-1 was therefore shuffled a bit. Guglielmo Vicario started in goal after getting over the cramp that forced him off late against Frosinone. Pierre Kalulu and Zeki Çelik played on the defensive flanks, while Bremer was partnered with new signing Jhon Lucumí in the middle of defense. Manuel Locatelli and Douglas Luiz played in the midfield, while Francisco Conceição, Jonathan David, and Jérémie Boga supported Randal Kolo Muani in attack.
Carlos Cuesta lost his first Parma match last week against Cagliari, and were looking for something better here. His only missing player was former Juve prospect Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, who had to have a surgery of his own this week. Edoardo Corvi started behind a 4-4-2. Enrico Delprato, Mariano Troilo, Dominik Drobnic, and Emanuele Valeri arrayed themselves in front of him. Sascha Britschgi and Mandela Keita bookended Christian Ordóñez and Adrían Bernabé in midfield. El Bilal Touré and Simone Lontani started up front. Drobnic and Lontani were both teenagers, and the former was making his debut.

NOVI SAD, Serbia (AP) — Small boats stand idle on cracked ground in a shriveled side channel of the Danube River in northern Serbia, where the water has receded into a couple of shrinking ponds under pressure from extreme drought and heat. Fish circle in the shallow waters.
"This is all we have, these two little ponds that are full of juvenile fish," fisherman Dusan Jovanovic said. He said the fish are in danger because there is too little water and its temperature is over 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit).
"If they start to die, they will all die at once," Jovanovic said.
Persistent drought and scorching heat this summer have ravaged ecosystems and businesses across the region, from a lake in Slovenia and the side channel of the Danube in Serbia, to fish farms in Bosnia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary.
The fish industry has been hit especially hard, with damage estimated in the millions of euros (dollars). This is adding to the already high toll caused by problems with energy and water supplies, devastated crops, losses in river traffic and trade.

Luciano Spalletti insists Juventus put in 'a great performance' for the 2-0 victory over Parma, despite jeers and criticism from fans and media, but admits they need a new midfielder.
The Bianconeri had a frustrating first half and were jeered by the crowd, particularly Jonathan David after his substitution, but the changes off the bench proved pivotal.

Specifically, Nico Gonzalez made an immediate impact by forcing a save, hitting the upright and then scoring on the rebound, while his high press also created the circumstances for another substitute to score late on in Teun Koopmeiners.
Spalletti had only said yesterday in his press conference that Nico Gonzalez was a player who always delivers wherever you put him, and that proved prescient.

When two sides argue, the third is the one who benefits. And this time, nothing could be more true.
Franck Kessié has been pushing for weeks to return to Italy after his stint in Saudi Arabia with Al Ahli, and the two teams most interested seemed to be Roma and Juventus.
The Bianconeri, however, pulled out just this morning due to the difficult financial situation.
And for the same reason, Roma likely has to pull out as well. The Ivorian midfielder's demands are not easy to meet, even though he's a free agent.
Furthermore, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta are very close to bringing the former AC Milan and Barcelona player back to the Nerazzurri. This time, however, Gian Piero Gasperini won't be there to welcome him.

Juventus hosts Parma in their first home league game of the season this evening, and it is one of the fixtures to follow today.
The Old Lady is one of the top teams in the country, and after a strong summer spending spree, they have been tipped to outperform their previous campaign.
The men at the Allianz Stadium know Parma will not be easy opponents, and if they do not improve on their performance against Frosinone, it could be bad news for them.
They have already lost Kenan Yildiz, while Weston McKennie is also unavailable for the fixture, meaning the men at the Allianz Stadium will make some changes to the team for this match.
With Yildiz unavailable, Kerim Alajbegovic could be handed a start on the left wing, a position he played many times at RB Salzburg, even though Luciano Spalletti sees him as a number 10.

The Bianconeri must cope without the injured Yildiz and McKennie, but Kehphren Thuram is also not fully fit and might not be included in the squad for this evening's match.
Lloyd Kelly remains favourite over new signing Jhon Lucumì, while Zeki Celik and Andrea Cambiaso compete for a starting spot at left-back.

Juventus are pushing to sign Franck Kessie, and they currently have the advantage in the race, as he prioritises joining them over other clubs this summer.
He has just returned after spending three seasons in Saudi Arabia, and the midfielder wants to end his career in the Italian top flight. He has since given preference to Juventus, and the club asked him to wait for them to make some sales to create ****** e in their wage bill to accommodate his salary.
Kessie wants the move and has been waiting for them, but AS Roma are tempting him with an offer to reunite with Gian Piero Gasperini, and Juve are worried. The Bianconeri have now stepped up their interest in adding him to their squad during this window, and they met with his entourage yesterday to try to close the deal.
After discussing their offer for some time, Calciomercato says Kessie rejected the offer that was made yesterday, so the parties could not reach an agreement. The result means Juventus have more work to do before they can secure the midfielder's signature.
Kessie remains keen on returning to Serie A, but Juventus must now convince him that Turin is the right destination. Their interest has been clear, yet the failed meeting shows that there is still a gap between the two sides.

The big story of the day is certainly Leao's move to Galatasaray, along with the Europa League draw involving Milan and Juventus.
The final four days of the transfer window will bring several big moves, and now let's look at today's most important news involving Italy's top clubs.
Adam Licina's future will be away from Juventus, at least for this season: the 2007-born winger will join Cremonese on a dry loan, according to Alfredo Pedullà and Gianluca Di Marzio.
The German player had received offers for a permanent transfer or a loan with an option to buy from Serie A clubs, all rejected by Juventus, who want to keep full control over one of their best talents.
After completing Leao's sale to Galatasaray, it is now time for Milan to make signings: for this reason, Omari Hutchinson, Nottingham Forest's 2003-born winger, has been offered to them. This was reported by Fabrizio Romano.

Inter head into their second Serie A fixture of the 2026/27 season looking to build on their 4-1 victory over Monza at San Siro. Their first away trip of the campaign takes them to Sardinia on Sunday 30 August, where they will face Fabio Pisacane's Cagliari at the Unipol Domus, with kick-off at 20:45 CEST. Cagliari also began the season with a win, beating Parma 1-0 at the Tardini thanks to Alessandro Romano's spectacular late strike.
The two sides have met 90 times in Serie A, with Inter recording 47 wins, 29 draws and 14 defeats. In 45 meetings in Sardinia, the Nerazzurri have won 20, with seven Cagliari victories and 18 draws.
Inter have won nine of their last 10 Serie A meetings with Cagliari, with one draw. During that run, they have scored 26 goals, averaging 2.6 per game. Inter have also scored more Serie A goals against Cagliari than any other side, with 160, while only AC Milan have beaten the Rossoblù more often in the competition: 48 wins to Inter's 47, level with Juventus. The Nerazzurri have won six of their seven Serie A meetings with Cagliari played during the opening two matchdays, with one draw. The most recent came on 28 August 2023, when goals from Dumfries and Lautaro secured a 2-0 victory.
Inter have also won each of their last six Serie A away games against Cagliari, keeping a clean sheet in the last three. They have scored in 22 of their last 23 league visits to the Rossoblù, registering 47 goals in total — an average of 2.04 per game.
Both teams head to the Unipol Domus with three points after winning their opening fixtures. Cagliari recorded their first opening-day victory since 2013, while also extending their run to three consecutive wins dating back to the end of last season. Inter, meanwhile, have suffered just one defeat in their 23 Serie A matches played in 2026, remaining unbeaten in the other 22.

Lazio are facing an uphill challenge in their quest to sign Juventus winger Edon Zhegrova, as Matteo Cancellieri has reportedly rejected his most keen admirers.
Earlier this week, the Kosovar international emerged as a target for the Biancocelesti, who would like to bolster their flanks after sorting out other departments by signing Alfonso Pedraza, Danilho Doekhi, Davide Frattesi, Josip Sutalo, and most recently Andrea Pinamonti.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio are hoping to acquire Zhegrova on loan with an option to buy from Juventus. The 27-year-old's current net salary is €2.5 million per year, so the Biancocelesti should be able to cover it. However, the pink newspaper insists that the arrival of the former LOSC Lille player would only be plausible if Cancellieri were to leave.
Over the past few days, the Roman winger has been linked with several Serie A clubs, with Genoa making the most concrete offer. But according to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, Cancellieri is refusing to join Daniele De Rossi's team.
The 24-year-old might be holding out for a more prestigious destination, like Fiorentina or Bologna, who have more ambitious projects and are aiming to fight for European slots. Perhaps he would end up reconsidering his decision if no other offers arrive, as he risks spending his campaign on the bench, since Gustav Isaksen is reportedly ahead of him in Gennaro Gattuso's pecking order.

On Saturday, our ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga away tour takes us to face another set of last season's championship group opponents. Following matches against SK Sturm Graz and FK Austria Vienna, we now take on the perennial Austrian champions. Our team faces SKN St. Pölten at 14:00 CEST, with the match broadcast live on ORF Sport+.
As is well known, our previous encounters with the other top teams did not go as hoped. After a perfect start to the season taking maximum points from two games - our Salzburg side was unable to secure further results against these tough opponents. Now, a new opportunity arises - albeit against a team that boasts a flawless league record under their coach Laurent Fassotte and was in action on the European stage just yesterday. It remains to be seen how much energy was drained by a Women's Champions League qualifier against Italian heavyweights Juventus - a match the Old Lady won decisively, 3–0. Last season, we had to yield to the eventual runners-up, with the She-Wolves winning all four of our head-to-head clashes. Oliver Fix will officiate this showdown at the NV Arena.
In St. Pölten, we face our next top opponents and, consequently, a major challenge. For us, the key is to work for one another and stick to our principles, even under pressure.
