Two of the seven men accused of ***** ually ***** aulting a Cornell University student at a fraternity house in 2024 were expelled, while others were ordered to take ***** ual harassment training and write "reflection papers," according to university disciplinary records obtained by the New York Times.
The records offer the most detailed look yet at how Cornell handled the case, which has drawn national outrage and is now under criminal investigation by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
On Friday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said that a woman who alleges she was drugged and raped by multiple members of a Cornell University fraternity in 2024 was "failed" by those obligated to protect her.
Hochul's comments came a day after announcing she had lost faith in the district attorney overseeing the Cornell University rape case and signed an executive order appointing James as a special prosecutor to lead the investigation.
"In what world would the police learn from a victim that she'd been literally gang raped while intoxicated by five men in a fraternity house and not elevate those allegations to the district attorney?" Hochul said at a press conference with James in New York. "In what world does the district attorney not even interview her or anyone else involved or even request the full transcript?

As a long-time host of "The View," Joy Behar is known for her outspokenness, which sometimes causes scandals, such as dragging Melania Trump when insulting Donald Trump. Other than her political views and wild on-show feuds, Behar is recognized for her polished looks behind the desk. The TV personality has been vocal about her signature, face-framing blowout and the fact that she's not a natural redhead. While Behar isn't hesitant to discuss any cosmetic changes, she's also not afraid to wear a makeup look that's more minimal than her usual television glam.

In August 2026, Behar went to ****** town Kitchen in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The TV host, wearing an all-black outfit, posed with ****** town Kitchen's owner Willy Garcia for the restaurant's Instagram post. Behar kept her makeup simple by wearing gray eyeshadow and a red lip. Overall, Behar's skin looks amazing in her 80s. Her forehead, chin, and cheeks seem smooth. Her cheeks also look plump for someone in their twilight years, which could be a result of having good skin and investing in nonsurgical skin treatments. She also wore her hair down without the volume that fans of "The View" are used to seeing on screen.

Paloma Elsesser thinks that the glamorization of Ozempic and similar weight-loss drugs isn't a good thing for society as a whole.
The 34-year-old model, who became the first plus-size model to win Model of the Year at the Fashion Awards in 2023, made an appearance on Vogue's The Run-Through podcast and suggested the rise of Ozempic can be correlated to the rise of "conservative" and "anti-woke" rhetoric. "I think the Ozempic era that we're talking about is harmful because it kind of takes away the agency to live in the way that I would hope people and women and young girls and young people can think about their bodies in this world," she shared. Around the 32-minute point of the podcast, which can be seen above.
Elssesser also said that she's seen a rise in "pro-eating disorder content" on platforms such as TikTok, which is especially worrying considering so many young people have unfiltered access to such content.
"II think people are just being like, 'Okay, this is not it,'" she continued. "We're seeing celebrities and people… I think people are upset. … I think that women should have agency. I am critical of applying my body, your body, your choice to this conversation because it's like… 'Is it your choice?' It's not. It's a prescription, so it doesn't actually feel like a choice. … I don't know, maybe I said something problematic. … The number one central tenet, like, anything that I try and live and encourage is to just think critically, not be critical."

Gray hair is gorgeous, and many famous women are increasingly rocking their silver crowns with pride. Many celebrities look stunning with gray hair, and it's so inspiring to see them embrace this natural part of aging. But another trend is popping up that we love even more: celebrity women over 50 who are wearing their hair long! So often, society pressures mature women to chop their hair once they reach a certain age (on top of the pressure to cover up their gray, too), so seeing these celebs rock both gray and long hair is truly beautiful.
Olivia Colman debuted long gray curls at the Zurich Film Festival on September 28, 2026. "The Crown" actor's gorgeous tresses fell long past her shoulders. Since Colman previously had a pixie cut, her stylist, Inanch Emir, helped her create the look with extensions. "We weren't trying to hide her grey hair — we wanted to celebrate it," Emir told InStyle in September 2026, adding that her extensions were a combination of four different shades of gray "to create depth and dimension and to work harmoniously with Olivia's own hair." The result was so incredibly natural-looking and so pretty on her.
Colman's hair is part of a growing trend of celebrity women who are both embracing gray and wearing their hair long at the same time. We are huge fans of women who defy social expectations with their beauty like this — and look so good doing it!

George Armstrong, a fitness influencer who is known for preaching against cheating, found himself accused of the very thing on Friday when his account was accused of doing just that.
The posts came from his wife, Bailey Scarlett, who accessed his account and released a series of slides that appeared to be Armstrong confessing to cheating on her with Indonesian prostitutes and Dubai escorts. The posts were taken down quickly after they were published, and Scarlett later apologized, explaining that the behavior described in the slides did not take place during their relationship.
Each slide was written from Armstrong's point of view and addressed his followers, who are used to seeing him share fitness tips. The first slide was rather harsh.
Published on his Instagram, it said: "I like to cheat on the mother of my child and wife bailey.scarlett with Indonesian Prostitutes. And I definitely don't practice what I preach on Instagram, I also w**k to p**n and frequently get escorts in Dubai. But I will act like it's the most weakest thing in the world on Instagram to other men and shame them for it! I have no respect for the mother of my child or my wife. I am no outstanding father anyone should look up to. I am nothing more than a cheat who has portrayed this image for Instagram but sadly that's all it is. An image:)"
The slide was a direct hit on Armstrong's carefully constructed image.

Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis have abruptly ended their relationship—raising questions about whether the Neuralink executive will continue living in the billionaire's $35 million Austin, TX, compound with their four children.
Zilis revealed the breakup in an emotional post shared on X on Oct. 2, claiming that the end of their relationship came suddenly and just days after she and Musk had exchanged loving messages.
"It's hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that's just how it is sometimes," she wrote.
The 40-year-old, who serves as a director at Musk's brain-technology company Neuralink, also shared a screenshot of a text exchange that appeared to show just how quickly their relationship changed.
In the Sept. 24 messages, Zilis told Musk that she had enjoyed seeing him for breakfast and expressed her love for him.

Ben Affleck says losing both of his parents within the same year has changed the way he looks back at the family and home that shaped him. His father, Timothy Affleck, died in April, followed by his mother, Chris Anne Affleck, in June.
The actor addressed the losses publicly during the September 30 episode of Kerry Washington's Street You Grew Up On podcast. Affleck called losing both parents "sort of a big thing" and said it had caused him to revisit his childhood in ways that felt different from before.
Much of that shift centers on his mother, who died June 2 at age 83 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in December 2025. After her death, Affleck discovered letters she had written to her own parents as a young woman and began reading about ambitions, interests and experiences that existed decades before he knew her as his mother.
That discovery gave Affleck a fuller view of what she later devoted to raising him and his younger brother, Casey. It also fit a broader change in perspective he has described as an adult. Seeing his parents not simply through the roles they played in his childhood, but as people with their own histories, struggles and capacity for change.
The letters came from Chris Anne's younger years, including periods when she was living in California and deciding what kind of work she wanted to pursue. PEOPLE reported that Affleck found references to possible careers in teaching and social work, protests and time spent traveling to Mississippi.

Rick Ross was arrested in Miami Beach on Thursday on two domestic violence-related battery charges stemming from an alleged incident at his home in August. The rapper, whose legal name is William Roberts II, faces one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor battery charge.
Ross voluntarily surrendered to Miami Beach police and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center shortly after 6 a.m. on October 1. CBS12 reported from Miami-Dade court records that Ross and attorney Bradley ****** nstein filed a written plea of not guilty and demanded a jury trial.
Ross later bonded out and denied the allegations while speaking to reporters outside the jail. "I'm totally innocent of these fabricated allegations made against me," he said, according to WSVN 7News. His legal team has likewise said he is being wrongfully accused and asked that the case be allowed to proceed without prejudgment.
The arrest report describes an alleged August 28 confrontation involving a woman who said she had been in a relationship with Ross and living with him. The allegations have not been adjudicated, and Ross is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
According to the arrest affidavit reviewed by CBS12, the woman went to Miami Beach police on September 29 to report an incident she said had occurred about a month earlier. She told investigators that Ross became angry after seeing an Instagram photograph in which she had been tagged and questioned her about another person.

Luann de Lesseps is revisiting her flirty history with Joe Bradley. The former RHONY star opened up about their chemistry and the kiss that followed their first meeting. During a new Call Her Daddy appearance with Sonja Morgan, Luann also recalled the unexpected moment she later met Bradley's mom at BravoCon.
During the Call Her Daddy interview, Luann reflected on meeting Joe Bradley, who stars on Southern Hospitality.
The pair first met during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live in January 2024. Luann immediately called Bradley "charming," while he made it clear that he liked older women.
Bradley later admitted that he and Luann kissed after their night out. He said he initially kept the kiss quiet because he did not want to hurt Danielle Olivera, whom he had been seeing at the time. He later explained why he had tried to keep the kiss private.
Luann sounded amused as she looked back on their brief connection. She also acknowledged their age gap and discussed her preference for dating younger men.

On September 17, shares of Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) and GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc. (NASDAQ:GFS) moved sharply higher, with Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) gaining more than 4% and GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc. (NASDAQ:GFS) rising more than 6% by the end of the trading session.
Reuters reported that the two companies have expanded their agreement to increase production capacity for silicon germanium (SiGe), a semiconductor technology used in high-speed optical connections for data centers. The multi-year agreement will expand capacity for GLOBALFOUNDRIES Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GFS) SiGe technology at its facility in Burlington, Vermont. SiGe allows semiconductor devices to operate at higher speeds while using less energy, making it increasingly important as data centers handle larger volumes of data.
Robb Johnson, Vice President, Foundry Technology at Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) said the expanded collaboration will help ensure that the company has the "SiGe technology and manufacturing capacity to support the significant growth" it expects ahead.
According to the report, the increased manufacturing capacity will help Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MRVL) meet growing demand for optical networking products, including pluggable optical transceivers, near-packaged optics, and co-packaged optics.
GlobalFoundries Is Seeing Strong SiGe Demand

Morgan Stanley has cut Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE:NVO) to Underweight on September 11, 2026. Semaglutide, the underlying molecule for Wegovy and Ozempic, generates roughly 75% of 2026 revenue. Morgan Stanley models that it will still represent 59% of total sales when its patent protection expires in 2031. And according to the firm, the valuation does not price in the impact it has on Novo's terminal value. The stock, currently trading at 10.6x earnings and down 33% from its 52-week high, slipped another 2% following the call. At this point, the question isn't about whether the patent cliff is real or not, but whether the 10x multiple reflects an actual bargain.
Semaglutide loses exclusivity in Europe in 2031 and the US in 2032. And Morgan Stanley believes Novo's oral-obesity business, projected to reach $10 billion by 2031, could not offset the pricing collapse after the arrival of generics. Growth decelerates to a 4% compound rate between 2027 and 2030. If the deceleration continues, it will justify 10x earnings as a fair price instead of a cheap one.
The 10.6x multiple already prices aggressive pessimism into a market leader of one of the fastest-growing drug classes in history. Morgan Stanley fueled the pessimism by discounting a 2031 cliff five years earlier. However, pharmaceutical patent expirations frequently face extensions and prove difficult to time. Second, the ***** umption that oral obesity treatments cannot offset patent losses relies on oral semaglutide being the bridge. But Novo's next-generation portfolio, including CagriSema and amycretin, offers a significant defense against the patent cliff. This remains unproven, however, specifically after CagriSema's earlier weight-loss data failed to impress, yet Morgan Stanley's terminal-value model discounts this pipeline almost entirely. The company is also expanding its franchise. On September 7, the STEP Young trial hit its endpoint in children aged six to twelve, strengthening the base its successors inherit.
The smart money is leaning in. As per the Insider Monkey database, 59 hedge funds held NVO in the second quarter of 2026, up from 55 in the first, indicating a slight increase in the modest institutional interest in the stock. Short interest on the ADR is negligible at about 0.7%. The positioning reflects a beaten-down value stock quietly seeing institutional accumulation while Wall Street turns increasingly bearish.

(NEXSTAR) – The days getting shorter serve as a reminder that we’re barreling toward the end of our seasonal observation of daylight saving time, but the wheels may be in motion to stop that – a move more than a dozen states have been waiting to happen.
Earlier this year, the House passed the Sunshine Protection Act, which would make daylight saving time permanent throughout the U.S., with few exceptions. It’s been held up in the Senate since July but, now that the chamber has returned from recess, there’s a chance the legislation could be picked up.
If it can pass the Senate, the bill seems to stand a fair chance of becoming law, with President Trump already expressing support.
For more than a dozen states, this is the closest they’ve been in years to seeing some of their own legislation finally take effect. The U.S. hasn’t been this close to permanent daylight saving time since a version of the Sunshine Protection Act passed in the Senate in 2022 but fizzled in the House.
At present, states are only allowed to opt into year-round permanent standard time, as Hawaii and much of Arizona have done. But that hasn’t stopped 19 states from enacting legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent in their jurisdiction, pending approval from Congress.

For months, economists and retailers have warned about the financial strain facing lower- and middle-income consumers. Higher earners, on the other hand, have largely been sheltered from the effects of the rising costs of living.
But that may be changing.
A growing number of CEOs and industry insiders, from retailers as varied as Walmart and ThredUp, have said they're seeing shifts in the behavior of consumers earning $100,000 a year or more.
Dollar General's CEO Todd Vasos is the latest to join that growing chorus.
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs Global Consumer and Retail conference, Vasos said it's no longer the chain's core consumer base (low- and middle-earners) who are feeling the financial strain.

GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) is one of Jim Cramer's favorite stocks. Throughout 2025, the CNBC TV host continued to heap praise on the firm. Cramer's praise came at a time when new-age nuclear power and quantum computing stocks were experiencing strong gains. Throughout this period, he continued to **** ert that GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) was the only nuclear firm with a stable delivery timeline and the capacity to deliver. In his morning appearance on the 15th, Cramer discussed the recent dip in shares and worries about a slowdown in the AI buildout:
"One company, GE Vernova, which was hit incredibly hard, which actually builds these, was saying they're seeing an order acceleration. So I really doubt the idea there's going to be a decel. Now that stock got hammered yesterday, it's been a horrendous stock since we started getting this political controversy. But again I point out that you just hear no one say anything about pullback."
For GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), as perhaps indicated by the share price movement, the narrative is driven by its backlog and overall exposure to AI's power generation demand. On this front, CEO Scott Strazik, another Cramer favorite, outlined during the firm's second quarter earnings that data center orders of $5 billion for H1 2026 had already doubled over the full year 2025 figures. Additionally, during Q2, the firm's total orders touched $24 billion to mark an 88% growth driven by its Power and Electrification segment. As a whole, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV)'s Q2 revenue grew by 22% annually, while its overall backlog and electrification backlogs sat at $176 billion and $446 billion.
At the same time, with GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) also relying on gas turbines for its business, the debate is also about whether exposure to AI can remove the inherent cyclicality in the business. Additionally, with data centers accounting for 40% of the Electrification business's orders, any slowdown in capex spending by big tech players could generate tailwinds for GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV). Similarly, while the data center business is booming and the gas generation business remains tied to prices and interest rates, the firm's wind business is a drag and expected to hurt the bottom line throughout 2026.
In Q2, 106 out of the 1,006 funds tracked by Insider Monkey had held a stake in GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV), which marked a dip over the 118 out of 1,022 funds in Q1. Whether the dip was due to the order mix and AI sentiment or due to profit taking, your guess is as good as ours. On the valuation front, GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE:GEV) trades at a forward P/E ratio of 35, while short interest as a percentage of float is 3.29%.

AGNC Investment (NASDAQ: AGNC) completed its IPO in May 2008 at $20 per share. Today, shares of the mortgage REIT trade at around $10 per share, a staggering 50% below their IPO price.
However, the company's monthly dividends have more than offset the slump in its share price. AGNC has paid out over $50 per share in ****** ulative dividends since its IPO, more than double its IPO price. With dividends reinvested, it has significantly outperformed mortgage REITs and other financial stocks since its IPO.

AGNC Investment's founders formed it in the depths of the financial crisis, seeing an opportunity to create a leading Agency MBS (mortgage-backed securities guaranteed against credit losses by government agencies like Fannie Mae). It invests in Agency MBS on a leveraged basis, primarily through repurchase agreements, and uses dynamic risk management strategies to navigate market risks, including interest rate changes.
The company has had to maneuver around several market cycles, unexpected events, and market volatility over the years, which have weighed on its investment returns and earnings. AGNC Investment has still managed to significantly expand its Agency MBS portfolio (it reached $97.2 billion at the end of the second quarter), financed primarily by selling stock. As a result, its shares outstanding have risen a staggering 7,660% since its IPO. This combination of earnings volatility and dilution is why its share prices have fallen 50% since the IPO.

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday that he was barring CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House due to what he called unfavorable coverage and "fake news," and threatened that more such media bans could be coming — the latest salvo in the president's increasingly aggressive response to media coverage he finds unfavorable.
Like many of Trump's other confrontations with news organizations — some of which are playing out in the legal arena — this threat has potential First Amendment implications. There was no immediate indication, though, that he was following through.
Trump wrote on his social media site that effective immediately, "I am banning" CNN, MS NOW and Politico "from the White House as a result of their constant 'reporting' FAKE NEWS!" Minutes later, speaking at an event in the Oval Office, Trump was asked to explain his statement.
"Because they're fake news," he said. "You get so tired of reading and seeing fake news. When you look at CNN, it's just fake. That's why their ratings are no good. When you look at MS NOW … , it's fake news."
"And when you look at Politico ... the stories they wrote are fake. So there's a lot of news and there may be others to join them, and maybe they can get better," he said. "But our country has to have honest news."

Every 3% or 5% single-day pop in technology stocks and high-beta market darlings is being hailed by retail momentum chasers as the definitive return of the bull market. I'm a natural skeptic, hardened by decades of seeing markets cycle up and down. And I just don't see the bull market returning in force for a while… and maybe a long, long while.
To be clear, it doesn't prompt me to "exit the market," no more than it would prompt me to "pile into stocks" when the coast looks clearer. To me, investing in the stock market is never about "do I" or "don't I." It is always about "how much do I allocate?"

NEW YORK, Sept 16 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve raised interest rates on Wednesday and flagged further increases in borrowing costs in coming months, with new US central bank chief Kevin Warsh joining a unanimous decision that effectively acknowledges the Trump administration's inability so far to control inflation.
Speaking in Washington after the decision's release, Warsh echoed the official statement in promising the Fed's policy committee would "deliver price stability." Stocks and bonds sold off late Wednesday afternoon, reflecting expectations that rates may continue to rise for some time.
New policy projections showed 16 of 18 policymakers anticipate at least one more quarter-percentage-point hike by the end of this year, with only two of them seeing rates remaining stable from here. Warsh apparently again did not submit a rate projection.
It's the first policy shift under the new Fed chief, who took office in late May after being selected by Trump with an expectation that he would cut rates.
The Fed's new policy statement and economic projections, to the contrary, show a central bank opening the door on tighter monetary policy through next year, with the policy rate rising to the 4.00%-4.25% range by the end of this year and ending 2027 at the same level.

Amazon Business is now a $60B operation serving 11 million customers worldwide. In this FreightWaves Today interview, Amazon Business exec Daniel Silverfield breaks down what that scale means for procurement, supplier consolidation, same-day grocery delivery and AI-driven savings. The big takeaway: business buyers want fewer suppliers, better visibility and less waste in purchasing. Silverfield explains how Amazon Business is pitching exactly that to everyone from small companies to Fortune 100s.
Amazon Business has hit $60 billion in annualized gross sales and now serves 11 million customers worldwide, with 1.8 million organizations added this year alone — a growth rate that puts it on par with a Fortune 100 company if it were standalone. The platform, which launched roughly a decade ago after Amazon noticed businesses already shopping on amazon.com, is increasingly central to how companies across sectors manage procurement, from office supplies to same-day groceries.
The scale matters to shippers, carriers, and brokers because Amazon Business is driving a fundamental shift in B2B purchasing behavior — consolidating supplier pools, centralizing data, and moving procurement from quarterly reporting cycles to an always-on, AI-powered model. Every order that migrates to the platform is one fewer touchpoint for traditional distributors and one more shipment flowing through Amazon's own logistics network.
Daniel Silverfield, head of value and selection for Amazon Business, said the platform saved customers $880 million on Prime free shipping last year and $1 billion through business-specific discounts. The company added 30% new items year over year and recently launched same-day grocery delivery across 2,300 U.S. cities in the first half of this year, a capability customers had been requesting for some time.
"The big shift that we're seeing is that people are moving to a continuous, always-on, conversational-powered procurement journey where agents may be looking for the best price while they're asleep, maybe negotiating on their behalf while they're asleep, and then surfacing to them the best product to buy," said Silverfield.

Dick's Sporting Goods has been one of the big success stories in the brick-and-mortar retail ***** e.
At a time when many rivals have been shrinking their physical store counts, the sporting goods giant has leaned into stores, creating new experiential concepts and generally rethinking its retail strategy.
The chain has selectively built House of Sport locations that offer running tracks, batting cages, golf simulators, and other interactive options.
"House of Sport locations now seeing 5-6 times the number of visits per location compared to the rest of the chain. For reference, the average ***** 's Sporting Goods store is roughly 50K square feet square feet compared to 100K-120K square feet for House of Sport, indicating that House of Sport is also outperforming on a visit per square foot basis," according to 2024 data from Placer.ai.
That's a win, and the overall company delivered a nearly 5% comparable store sales gain in the second quarter. Chairman Edward Stack celebrated that success during the chain's second-quarter earnings call.

Interested in Netflix, Inc.? Here are five stocks we like better.
Netflix received 25 negative revisions in 90 days, yet 54 **** ysts remain bullish, seeing over 20% upside despite reduced price targets.
Meta Platforms faces 21 downgrades tied to rising CapEx and weak Q2 results, but **** ysts still rate it a Moderate Buy with about 20% upside.
Lululemon's downgrades reflect genuine fundamental deterioration, with 29 **** ysts giving it a consensus Reduce rating and mostly Hold or Sell ratings.
Downgrades rarely help bullish traders, hurting sentiment and price action—unless, of course, you're looking for a good stock to buy into. As always, it's the trend that matters, because a downgrade or price target reduction can mean different things in different situations.
