Indiana Fever schedule 2026: Dates, times, TV channels, live streams to watch Caitlin Clark WNBA games originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
The WNBA is officially back, and as always, the Indiana Fever are the talk of the town.
Even entering her third season in the league, women's basketball fans can't get enough of Caitlin Clark. The point guard was plagued with injury throughout her sophomore campaign, only playing 13 total games. Clark is surely returning to the court with redemption top of mind.
Despite navigating a myriad of team injuries last year, the Fever were still able to push the eventual champion Aces to five games in the league semifinals. With the core of Clark, Aliyah Boston, Sophie Cunningham and Kelsey Mitchell all back in action, Indiana looks like it could be a top franchise in the WNBA this season.
Be sure to tune in for this team.

The Atlanta Dream lost in a blowout to the Las Vegas Aces on Monday night, 109-87. As embarassing as the final score was, Dream superstar Angel Reese, whom the franchise acquired this offseason via a trade with the Chicago Sky, was dominant.
Reese scored 23 points and 16 rebounds while posting -3 +/- , which was especially impressive given the 22-point loss. Still, Reese faced heavy criticism for getting blown out. On Wednesday, she and the Dream got a crack at redemption against the Phoenix Mercury and didn't waste it.
Atlanta defeated Phoenix, who acquired star point guard Kelsey Plum at the trade deadline, 96-82, and Reese showed why she's been an All-Star every season since she was drafted in 2024.
The forward finished the game with yet another double-double, scoring 14 points on 7-for-14 shooting and snagging 10 rebounds to boot. Despite her impressive numbers, there are fans who are convinced Reese isn't "good at basketball" after watching a collection of plays from Wednesday's contest.
"I get so tired of the gaslighting done with this one. She is just simply not good at basketball. She has long arms and that's it," one fan posted on X.

The Chinese striker stepped in on short notice, surprised Noiri in the first round, and ultimately earned a unanimous decision.
More than a year and a half later, the 33-year-old finally has the coveted opportunity to settle the score and advance in an elite eight-man tournament. The eventual winner of this prestigious bracket will earn a guaranteed shot at reigning ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Superbon.

Fabio Paratici's busy summer continues with Fiorentina's 7th incoming transfer of the season (9th if you count the loan redemptions for Marco Brescianini and Giovanni Fabbian). The DS has gone back to familiar territory again and grabbed rightback João Mário on loan from Juventus. According to LaViola.it, it's a €1.8 million initial fee and a €9.5 million option.
I wasn't particularly high on this move when the rumor broke a couple weeks ago and I'm no higher now. João Mário Neto Lopes is 26 and has 3 caps for Portugal but I don't see him as anything more than a depth piece. He's got the requisite pace and technical ability to look very good in a YouTube compilation, sure, but his disastrous defending means that he struggles to make a positive impact over 90 minutes.
A Porto product, João Mário moved to the Juvenuts last year for €12 million but suffered a Mattia Vitiesque trajectory: unable to get on the pitch for either Igor Tudor or Luciano Spalletti, he was loaned to Bologna in January but failed to elbow past Nadir Zortea for minutes under Vincenzo Italiano and the Oscar Mayers declined his option. I can't imagine he'll shoulder past (sigh) Alex Jimenez in Florence. His arrival also sounds the death knell on Dodô's time with the club.
That's enough negativity for now. João Mário should be Perfectly Fine as a low-cost backup. If he pops, another €9.5 million won't feel onerous at all. After all, this is a guy in his athletic prime with plenty of Champions League experience. The worst-case scenario is that he rides the bench for a season and then returns to Turin. My fervent hope, however, is that he bursts into the team and starts all 38 Serie A games, wowing everyone with his two-way play and cementing himself in Fabio Grosso's XI because that would mean noted creep Jimenez wouldn't be playing for this team.
Hey, all of a sudden I'm a huge João Mário fan. Bem-vindo e boa sorte!

The 2026 FIFA World Cup wrapped last month, and with it went 39 days of the kind of moments that make a tournament unforgettable: a teenage phenom stealing highlight reels with his flair, a scrappy underdog nation refusing to go home, a 40-year-old goalkeeper turning in the performance of his career, a nine-figure transfer rumor before the confetti had even settled. For four weeks, the entire sports world organized itself around this single competition. But the appetite for those storylines didn't end when the final whistle blew, and it doesn't need a men's tournament to be satisfied. Right now, in stadiums and arenas across the world, women's sports are producing the exact same arcs: breakout stars, Cinderella runs, veteran redemption stories, record-breaking numbers, and transfer fees rewriting what the sport is worth. They're just not getting the same attention. Here are five World Cup moments and the women's sports stories playing out in real time that deserve to be next on your watchlist.

Liked Lamine Yamal's flair? Watch Morocco's Atlas Lionesses at WAFCON.
Yamal spent this World Cup as one of the most-watched players on the planet, a teenager with more than 50 million Instagram followers turning every touch into a moment. Morocco is hosting the Women's Africa Cup of Nations for a third straight edition, running through August 16 across Rabat and Casablanca, and the Atlas Lionesses have opened their campaign in commanding form. They beat Kenya 4-0 to open the tournament, then beat Algeria 1-0 to move to two wins from two matches, sitting atop Group A with five goals scored and none conceded. The breakout to watch is Barcelona Femení prospect Kautar Azraf, flagged by CAF as one of the country's brightest young talents ahead of her first senior call-up, the same "unproven teenager announces herself on the biggest stage" arc that made Yamal a global name this summer.
Liked Cape Verde's underdog run? Watch WAFCON's debutant nations.
Cape Verde's men's team was one of the World Cup's most beloved stories, a nation of fewer than 600,000 people holding its own against the sport's giants. Their women's game has its own version unfolding right now. Cape Verde and Malawi are both playing in their first-ever Women's AFCON this year

Reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion "The Kicking Machine" Superlek has a debt to settle with Abdulla "Smash Boy" Dayakaev, and the time to collect is finally here.
Eager to avenge a razor-thin split-decision loss, the Thai megastar gets his shot at redemption in a thrilling bantamweight Muay Thai rematch at The Inner Circle 25. The highly anticipated bout goes down live in Asia primetime on Friday, August 7, exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com.
Their first meeting at The Inner Circle 14 this past May began the exact way most Superlek fights do. The 30-year-old muay femur stylist moved with methodical precision, processing every movement like a supercomputer calibrating its target.
However, one explosive burst from the Russian standout completely disrupted that rhythm. A disorienting right hand landed flush around the ear and temple, surprisingly sending Superlek to the canvas. The sheer impact tested his equilibrium so severely that standing steady, let alone gauging incoming strikes, became nearly impossible for the Thai icon.
The Superlek Muay Thai founder recalled:

To the editor: OSU is adding a JPMorgan Chase logo patch to all 36 varsity sport teams uniforms. The football team uniforms will also have a Nike logo and a Big Ten patch. In couple more years the uniforms will look like NASCAR driver suits. What next, naming rights for the team benches and medic tents? How about all the team support staff and managers having patches like the NASCAR pit crews? Next, they can add bus wraps for home and away rental busses with all kinds of additional sponsorships. Finally, we can start to add patches all over the uniforms of TBDBITL. Is the day very far away when the players and coaches will have to wear custom gear anytime they are on campus? The quest to grab more money to buy more players and build bigger facilities is beyond the pale.

To Raymond: If that's what it takes to pay the next Jeremiah Smith, I wouldn't put it past them. And neither would most of their fans.
Dear Brian: One thing became very clear after LeBron James announced his intent to take his talents (less than what they used to be) to Philadelphia: He never had any loyalty to the city, fan base or organization in Cleveland — a fan base that revered him, one that hoped he'd sign with the Cavs and end his career on a fairy tale note with one last hope of another championship. It was not to be. It was James' right to sign anywhere he wanted, no questioning that, but he was never the King of Cleveland, not even close. Yes, he helped bring a long-awaited championship to the city of Cleveland, and for that I am ever grateful! The Indians should have in 1997, but that is another story. It's apparent James didn't revere Cleveland as much as we would have liked to think. Remember him yelling "This is for you, Cleveland" after the Game 7 Finals victory in 2016? I think that was more about redemption for himself after he bungled the first free agency decision than about Cleveland ending its 52-year championship drought. The true face of Cleveland is Jose Ramirez. No doubt about it, not even close. The future Hall of Famer has shown his love for the city, the fans and the organization time and time again, signing extensions for less than what he could get on the open market. One could argue Joe Thomas and even Joel Bitonio are better representations of Cleveland than LeBron ever was. I'll always be grateful for the 2016 championship, but leave LeBron out of the King of Cleveland discussions.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 emanates from Minneapolis, Minn. this weekend, and betting odds suggest that most WWE champions will walk out of US Bank Stadium with their ***** les in tow—with the exception of one champion.
Chad Gable is a heavy favorite to dethrone Penta and win his first WWE Intercontinental Championship in his hometown of Minneapolis at WWE's biggest show of the summer. Gable is set to compete on Night 2 of SummerSlam where he will join fellow Minnesotan Brock Lesnar as amateur wrestlers with a hometown advantage, though Brock will compete against Oba Femi on Night 1.
Gable has enjoyed a redemption arc ever since coming up short in the 2026 Match of the Year against El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) at El Noche de los Grandes for the right to don the sacred mask and namesake. Gable's performance jumpstarted his up-and-down career, and was even replayed on Netflix following the June 1 broadcast of WWE Raw. With his heel persona behind him, and after conquering the dark arts of lucha libre, an unmasked Gable has made amends with Alpha Academy and former lucha opps like Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee and Penta, whom Gable will challenge for the IC ***** le after winning a No. 1 Contender's Gauntlet on WWE Raw.
Gable finds himself as the biggest favorite of Night 2 with -1500 odds per BetOnline, while Lesnar is the biggest underdog of either night with +900 odds to topple Oba Femi (-3000) in their rubber match inside ***** in a Cell.

The tennis tour is heading into one of its busiest stretches of the season, with the North American hardcourt swing just around the corner. The sport's biggest stars are already ramping up their preparations for the season's final Grand Slam, the US Open. Home favorites Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe have arrived in Washington, D.C. for the ATP 500 event (July 27-August 2).
Meanwhile, another former US Open semifinalist, Jack Draper, has joined the field in search of redemption. He is accompanied by three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray.
Shelton has arrived in the US capital after a rather forgettable Wimbledon campaign, where he was sent packing in the first round by qualifier Otto Virtanen. The American has produced mixed results, winning just one match at the ATP Masters 1000 level this season and just five matches across the three completed Grand Slam events.
He has, however, won three ******* les, one on each surface, including two at the 500 level (Dallas and Munich). At the Mubadala DC Open, Shelton, who accepted a wildcard, is defending 200 ranking points after reaching the semifinals last year. He would be hoping for an even better run as he builds momentum ahead of his Canadian Open ******* le defense.
On Thursday, July 23, the American was stopped training at the venue alongside Tiafoe. The players shared a laugh as they put in the hard yards under the sun. Interestingly, Shelton was seen wearing a left-arm sleeve.

A little over 100 days remain until the start of the college basketball season, and anticipation has continuously been building around the Florida Gators' season.
Todd Golden's ability to retain integral parts of his championship-winning roster has made the team one of the biggest storylines and contenders in the country. Following a disappointing upset loss to Iowa that ended their NCAA Tournament run, the Gators enter the upcoming campaign with redemption on their minds.
With much of their core returning, Florida is viewed as one of the favorites to win the SEC and is once again expected to be in the national championship conversation.
A look at Florida's path through the conference came several weeks ago when the SEC released its matchups for the upcoming season. With significant roster movement taking place across the league, the conference is expected to feature several teams capable of making a deep postseason run once again.
As the season quickly approaches, here is a look at the SEC matchups that could have the biggest impact on Florida's pursuit of another championship.

Sanju Samson has revealed how Rohit Sharma's reassuring words during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 initially failed to convince him after being left out of India's playing XI in the latter stages of the tournament. However, the wicketkeeper-batter eventually rediscovered his confidence and responded with one of the defining knocks of India's campaign against the West Indies.

After Samson endured a disappointing five-match T20I series against New Zealand heading into the World Cup, Rohit made it clear that the Kerala batter still had an important role to play in India's campaign.

"Dukhi mat ho bhai. It is a long tournament, kabhi bhi mauka aa sakta hai." ("Don't be disheartened, brother. It is a long tournament. You'll get your chance. The opportunity can come anytime,") Rohit had told Samson while embracing him.
Reflecting on that difficult phase, Samson admitted he was too disappointed to believe his captain's words at the time.

"To be honest, I didn't believe him at that time. Sorry. He might have spoken from his heart or from his experience, but that day I wasn't able to see what he was seeing. You could see it on my face; I was a bit off that day," Samson told JioStar.

The Kerala batter said the disappointment lingered even after India's World Cup campaign began, making it difficult for him to move on immediately.

"Our World Cup campaign started two days after the New Zealand series, and it takes me at least a week to recover. I don't like to bottle things up, so it shows on my face if I'm not feeling 100 per cent. I went through that phase for four or five days before getting myself back on track," he added.
Samson said the setback eventually turned into an opportunity for self-reflection, helping him reconnect with his purpose as a cricketer.

"You know you've failed, so what's next? You're at the bottom, so from there, you can only go up. I started working on myself mentally. I started asking myself questions, why do I play cricket? What's my purpose? It was like I was rediscovering myself while the World Cup was going on. And then everything just came back," Samson said.
Sanju Samson scripted one of the greatest redemption stories in T20 World Cup history, finishing as the Player of the Tournament as India lifted the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup on home soil. After initially missing out on the playing XI following a lean run of form, Samson fought his way back into the side and ended the tournament as India's highest run-scorer and the third-highest overall, amassing 321 runs in just five matches at an outstanding average of 80.25 and a blistering strike rate of 199.37. He also smashed a tournament-record 24 sixes, the most by any batter in a single T20 World Cup edition.

General Fusion began trading on the Nasdaq today under the ticker GFUZ, becoming the first publicly listed fusion power company, beating competitor and Trump-backed TAE Technologies by several months.
And investors seemed to want in. The stock rallied as trading began Monday and is now up 40% from $12.85 as of 12:50 p.m. ET.
General Fusion announced in January that it would merge with Spring Valley Acquisition Corp. III, and the transaction was completed last week.
Without redemptions, the fusion power company could have added as much as $230 million to its balance sheet. But most de-SPAC deals see a wave of redemptions before the merger completes. This one is no exception, and while the company hasn't disclosed the exact amount yet, a report in the Globe and Mail estimates that General Fusion might receive less than $30 million after redemptions and fees.
Alongside the de-SPAC, General Fusion also raised $108 million from private investors. Altogether, the company says it holds about $150 million in cash.

Penn State has a long and convoluted college football history that includes extended periods of success, brief periods of inactivity, and a whole bunch of drama in between the lines. But everything they've encountered in their nearly 140-year history has led them to the 2026 season, where Matt Campbell will be at the helm for the first time as the team embarks on a redemption journey.
They had a catastrophic 2025 season that resulted in a coaching change, an abandoned 2027 recruiting class and a lot of uncertainty about the program. Fast forward to today and it's a miracle that the outlook on the Nittany Lions has flipped so dramatically. USA Today's Paul Myerberg ranked all 18 Big Ten programs and had Penn State listed at No. 5.
It doesn't help the school's case that the conference has been on a national championship run as of late, with Michigan, Ohio State, and Indiana all achieving glory in consecutive years since 2024. Unsurprisingly, those are three of the teams ranked above the Nittany Lions, with the Oregon Ducks being the only team missing a national championship that has a better outlook.
It's no slight, with the team having a top-5 record in the nation over the last five seasons and clinching back-to-back College Football Playoff berths. Penn State earned a trip to the tournament in 2024, but missed it during the tumult of last season.
Getting back to the playoffs so quickly would be a dream come true, but finishing fifth in the Big Ten likely wouldn't be good enough to make it. Wherever they land, though, Nittany Lions fans should rejoice over how much the team's hopes have changed in such a short amount of time.

Jude Bellingham has carried England through the altitude of Mexico City then the searing heat and humidity of Miami on what increasingly looks like a personal mission to end a 60-year wait to win the World Cup.
The World Cup can sometimes turn into one player's destiny, carrying an unstoppable momentum towards the sport's greatest prize.
Think Diego Maradona with Argentina in 1986. Think Ronaldo's redemption with Brazil in Yokohama in 2002. Think Lionel Messi finally claiming his personal Holy Grail with Argentina in Doha in 2022.
Despite the England star again coming to his nation's aid with two goals that overcame Norway in the Miami furnace, Bellingham has a long way to go to be bracketed with those iconic figures.
Indeed, there are huge barriers to cross just at this tournament with Messi and Argentina waiting in Atlanta in the semi-final after they beat Switzerland.

Time and time again at this World Cup, Jude Bellingham has proven to be England's difference-maker.
When his team needed him the most Saturday, July 11, Bellingham came up big. And then he did it again.
Bellingham sent England to the World Cup semifinal for the second time in three tournaments, scoring a pair of goals in a 2-1 extra-time win over Norway in sweltering Miami.
It has been a tournament of redemption for Bellingham, who entered with questions over whether he would even start and now enters the final four as a Golden Ball contender.
It's almost hard to believe that Bellingham is still only 23. The midfielder has been part of the England setup since making his debut in 2020 at age 17.

The final 2026 FIFA World Cup match at Boston Stadium is set for Thursday afternoon, as France and Morocco square off in a highly anticipated quarterfinal match.
The meeting, which can be seen at 4 p.m. on Boston 25, renews a rivalry that dates back to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, when France defeated Morocco in the semifinals en route to the championship match.
Morocco will be looking for redemption after that loss, while France hopes to continue its strong run in the tournament.
France head coach Didier Deschamps said Morocco presents a significant challenge despite France's historical success in the matchup.
"It is a really great, excellent team with top-notch individuals. They're not here to play; they're here to win. They like to have the ball; they like to attack and score goals," Deschamps explained.

When Max Holloway welcomes Conor McGregor back to MMA this Saturday, July 11, at UFC 329 in Las Vegas, he'll not only being seeking redemption for a loss in their first clash in 2013; the former featherweight champion will also be making his 170-pound debut.
A spot atop the sport's featherweight Mt. Rushmore has been well-earned by Holloway at this point, however Holloway made what appeared to be a permanent move to lightweight after his final 145-pound ***** le tilt in October 2024. Had it not been for the McGregor rematch, a welterweight side quest likely would've never been in the cards. But that doesn't mean Holloway won't fit into his new division, according to his nutritionist, Tyler Minton, who spoke in-studio Wednesday on "The Ariel Helwani Show."
"We're going to be cutting weight [for this fight]. Max is a big guy. ... When I post a picture with me and Max, it's always, 'Holy smokes, he's huge,'" Minton told Uncrowned.
"Max is massive. He's a very large 155er now that he's had time to do this — and you know that a large 155er is a 170er, naturally. So, yeah, we're still going to have a weight cut [for UFC 329], but that being said, it's not one of those you have to fear or worry about. We've been able to focus purely on performance, and say, 'How do we perform better in the next session? How do we recover from the session earlier today and only focus on that?'
"When you only focus on performance for a literal performance athlete," Minton continued, "it makes all the difference in the world."
