Robert De Niro's political reputation took an unexpected turn according to an AI image Donald Trump shared on Truth Social. The post depicted the veteran actor wearing a pro-Trump message, despite De Niro's long record of publicly opposing the president and his administration.

WWE's roster is deeper than it has been in years, and the booking sheet coming out of SummerSlam shows it. CM Punk is carrying the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown. Roman Reigns holds the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. Solo Sikoa has become the most over act on either brand. As one of the '80s stars who grew up to be gorgeous, Frye became a familiar face thanks to her role as Punky in "Punky Brewster," which aired from 1984 to 1988. With her name attached to two internet-breaking movies in 2026 — "The Devil Wears Prada 2" and "The Odyssey" — Anne Hathaway has been a regular on the red carpet and in conversation. Gillian Anderson looked back on a rambunctious moment of her teenage years that resulted in an arrest.
The former X-Files actress revealed on the Monday (August 17) episode of podcast Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend that she was on crystal meth when she was arrested for breaking into her Grand Rapids, Michigan school back in 1986. Anderson would have been 17 years old at the time.
Anderson shared that around the time of the incident, she was in a "punk phase" and had on "pointy buckle boots" while breaking into her alma mater, City High-Middle School.
"So when the security guard was chasing me through downtown Grand Rapids, I stepped on a nail, and that's what slowed me down," she explained.

It's hard to believe four years had passed since I last saw Yard Act perform at the Black Cat. The post-punk Leeds outfit came out of the Covid-era with a banger of a debut album. It was clear that they had something to say.
The odd thing is that, in their third record, You're Gonna Need a Little Music, James Smith has a little bit of a different message: "I've done absolutely nothing since I last saw you four years ago / Ah, how you doing, yeah, I'm still chipping away / But I've got absolutely nothing / Absolutely nothing new to say"
This is the sort of imposter syndrome Yard Act tackle in their most recent project. The quartet are exploring new styles and adopting different references from disco house to Blur and Muse to create a far more varied sound.
That all creates for a deeper, richer backlog of tracks to dig into when they hit the stage. And, four years on from first seeing them, they returned to Black Cat with as much ferocity as ever.

Buccaneers offensive tackle Luke Goedeke got into a practice-field skirmish in a joint practice with the Jets today, and afterward he said he'll never back down to anyone.
Goedeke said the trouble began when Jets rookie David Bailey challenged him during a one-on-one drill, lost and shoved him.
"He called me out in one-on-ones and wanted to go against me and lost," Goedeke said of Bailey. "And then tried shoving me after that, and 52 [Kingsley Enagbare] I believe came from the side and just cheap-shotted me. That didn't start practice warm and fuzzy, that's for sure."
Goedeke grabbed a Jets player's helmet and threw it, which he admitted afterward was the kind of thing that would get him flagged in a game.
"Obviously not the greatest decision by me, but with that being said, I'm always going to defend my players and defend myself for that matter," Goedeke said. "I'm not gonna get punked and not do anything about it on the football field. That comes with the game, especially in joint practices, you see stuff like this all the time. You try to limit it and make sure it doesn't happen in a game. But I'm always going to stick up for my guys and stick up for myself, I don't care what happens."

Days earlier, it agreed to acquire federal contractor Steampunk and environmental consultancy Trinity Consultants, and submitted a 914 pence-per-share proposal for London-listed Bodycote, valuing the industrial services company's equity at about £1.56 billion ($2.1 billion).
The bid places Veritas in a takeover contest with CVC Capital Partners, which proposed 915 pence per share. The bidders face a Sept. 2 deadline.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. -- SummerSlam Sunday has ended, bringing the 2026 edition of the 'Biggest Party of the Summer' to a close. After an incredible night one, the WWE somehow matched its effort from a night ago and surpassed it in some regards.

Kevin Owens defeats Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Gunther to become the No. 1 contender for the WWE Championship
After the amazing opening match between Iyo Sky and Liv Morgan last night, the WWE understood the ******* ignment for tonight's opener. It was supposed to be a singles match between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn, but right before the bell rang, reinstated SmackDown GM Nick Aldis announced he'd be adding a competitor. It was Gunther, the man who defeated Aldis last night. Aldis then let Gunther enter the ring, before he announced one more addition to the match, a returning Kevin Owens. U.S. Bank Stadium absolutely erupted, as the crowd favorite was finally back after over 15 months of dealing with a neck injury.
That energy they gave KO remained for the entirety of this fun match. Owens came out of the gates hot, hitting swanton bombs all over the place, inside the ring and out. The match also saw the long awaited face-off between Sami and Owens who have a long history. The two hugged it out before mutually agreeing it was time to tear each other apart. Possibly the best spot of this match came when Gunther had Sami in the sleeper, and Finn Balor went up and simultaneously hit the Coup de Grace on Sami. Later, after giving stunners out to Balor and Gunther, Kevin and Sami battled it out one last time, when KO delivered a super kick, followed it up with a stunner, and pinned his best friend to earn the number one contendership, much to the delight of the crowd. Michael Cole said it best post match, "Welcome to the KO Show." The upcoming feud between him and CM Punk should be great.

SummerSlam 2026 is set to kick off this weekend with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes headlining Night 1 of the two-night Premium Live Event.
Punk heads into the match as the Undisputed WWE Champion following his return and win over Sami Zayn.
Zayn is now competing in a No. 1 Contender match on the same PLE, taking on Finn Balor, with the winner of that bout set to get a ***** le shot against the winner of Punk vs Rhodes.
At present, it is looking more likely that whoever does emerge victorious out of Sami and Finn will be challenging CM Punk for the ***** le at some point down the line.

Retired wrestling legend AJ Styles made a bold point calling out WWE for not pushing new star Bron Breakker fast enough into the world ***** le scene. Breakker was viewed as a "can't miss prospect" after an epic NXT run and a hot start to his main roster career. WWE seemed ready to push Breakker to the top after storylines with Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Recent months have seen things slowing for Breakker and seemingly distanced from the main event scene.
Styles had the following to say on his podcast about being confused at WWE's logic:
"How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be Heavyweight Champion? He should be next. I think that he's definitely a star right now. Why we haven't put it on him to put the rocket up his ***** and send him to the freaking moon? I don't know why we haven't done that because he is the destroyer."
The current role of Styles sees him retired from in-ring competition but active in various background roles for WWE. Styles uses his experience of well over two decades to contribute via coaching, training and scouting for the company. The new role likely makes it more pivotal on AJ's side to see obvious new stars getting truly elevated.
One noteworthy subject here goes back to WWE's overall main event. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes are treated on a full tier above the rest of the roster. Young stars must be presented on an equal level to these three or fans will never view them as a top name.
