He devoted 29 years to coaching Western Texas College rodeo to excellence, producing 16 national champions and 28 gold and silver finishers.
Now as head coach of Oklahoma City's professional bull riding team, the Oklahoma Wildcatters, Rhodes plans to bring his championship pedigree to the highest level of the sport.
Coaching a PBR team was an offer he simply could not pass up.
"It's like any athlete," Rhodes said. "I mean, you want to be at the pinnacle of the sport, and so the PBR league is the next level."

Dust off those boots because professional bull riding is coming to Oklahoma City this weekend.
The Oklahoma Wildcatters will host their annual homestand, Wildcatter Days, at Paycom Center from July 31-Aug. 2.
Wildcatter Days is the second event of the PBR Teams series, where 10 teams of drafted riders compete weekly for the championship in November. The team format debuted in 2022, with the Oklahoma Wildcatters joining the league in 2024.
After opening weekend, the Texas Rattlers lead the standings as the only 2-0 team. The Wildcatters are tied for eighth at 1-1 with 350 points. Each team sends five riders per competition, with each ride scored out of 100 points based on the rider's control and the bull's bucking performance.
Veteran collegiate coach Greg Rhodes was hired as the Oklahoma Wildcatters head coach for the 2026 season after the team parted ways with two-time PBR world champion J.B. Mauney. Rhodes was previously the head coach at Western Texas College, where he developed numerous national champions and top PBR riders.

Retired wrestling legend AJ Styles made a bold point calling out WWE for not pushing new star Bron Breakker fast enough into the world ***** le scene. Breakker was viewed as a "can't miss prospect" after an epic NXT run and a hot start to his main roster career. WWE seemed ready to push Breakker to the top after storylines with Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins and CM Punk. Recent months have seen things slowing for Breakker and seemingly distanced from the main event scene.
Styles had the following to say on his podcast about being confused at WWE's logic:
"How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be Heavyweight Champion? He should be next. I think that he's definitely a star right now. Why we haven't put it on him to put the rocket up his ***** and send him to the freaking moon? I don't know why we haven't done that because he is the destroyer."
The current role of Styles sees him retired from in-ring competition but active in various background roles for WWE. Styles uses his experience of well over two decades to contribute via coaching, training and scouting for the company. The new role likely makes it more pivotal on AJ's side to see obvious new stars getting truly elevated.
One noteworthy subject here goes back to WWE's overall main event. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, and Cody Rhodes are treated on a full tier above the rest of the roster. Young stars must be presented on an equal level to these three or fans will never view them as a top name.

Front Row Motorsports will lead the NASCAR Truck Series starting lineup for the race at Lucas Oil Raceway in July. Layne Riggs won the pole for the 2026 TSport 200 at Lucas Oil this weekend. Chandler Smith will join Riggs on the front row for Friday night's event. It is Riggs' third pole position of the 2026 Truck Series season.

Zayn lost the **** le just nine days into his reign when Punk replaced Cody Rhodes as his challenger. Punk won the belt in front of his hometown Chicago fans and should now have a main event for one of the SummerSlam nights.
Top wrestling insider Sean Ross Sapp and his Fightful site revealed that NBCU wanted Punk on Smackdown in a top spot as the champion:
“Fightful Select has learned that CM Punk is expected to have a lengthy reign, most of which will be taking place on SmackDown. NBCU has been pushing for his presence on the show for well over a year, as they view him as a premier star. He will make Raw appearances when needed.”
NBCU runs the USA Network and influenced WWE to move him from Raw to Smackdown. Punk is slated to have a long reign as the top champion and will be marketed as the face of Smackdown moving forward. Fightful added that Raw will also have Punk appearing when they need him, even though that goes against the rules of the brand split.
The other end of this story focuses on Sami Zayn and how he barely got to hold the top prize after finally winning it. Zayn had multiple viral videos celebrating his **** le reign and had another one this week for venting in anger, while cursing out Punk.

When asked by Complex's Kylie Mar to name the finisher that his character Maui would use when taking on Te Kā in Moana, Johnson picked Seth Rollins' Stomp.
Johnson shared that he was on the receiving end of The Stomp at WrestleMania XL in 2024, when he and Roman Reigns teamed up against Rollins and Cody Rhodes. The Stomp occurs at the 46:35 mark in the video below.

Rolle, who starred as a safety for the Seminoles from 2006-08 before earning a Rhodes Scholarship to study at Oxford University, is now a pediatric neurosurgeon and nationally recognized researcher.
The union said Rolle will lend his medical expertise to several NFLPA initiatives, including the Mackey-White Health and Safety Committee, helping shape efforts to protect players during and after their NFL careers.
