0617 ET – Pony AI’s first 2,000 robotaxi vehicles will be deployed mainly in Europe with a few in the Middle East, Citi ****** ysts cite management as saying. The first batch will be exported from China, with a potential switch to European local brands in the future, with Pony earning per-mile revenue from the testing phase onward, they say. The management maintains a target of 3,500 unit this year and disclosed an internal target of 10,000 units for next year, with overseas accounting for 30% to 40%, depending on regulatory approval cadence, Citi adds. Management believes stricter entry-permit standards favor leading players with strong safety track records, they say. (jiahui.huangwsj.com; ivy_jiahuihuang)

Michelle Obama's recent headturning looks on Martha's Vineyard remind us that she's always known how it's done.
If Michelle Obama is going to do one thing, it's absolutely have that ish on. The former first lady popped out during multiple book events on Martha's Vineyard this week, wearing not one but two different stunning looks that have set the internet ablaze.
The first look she shared in an Instagram post was a vibrant coral pink strapless dress with white heels, followed by a green-and-white striped Carolina Herrera halter dress with brown criss-cross heels. Her braids were pulled up into a high ponytail, cascading down her back.
There's just one problem, she admitted, she may have been a bit overdressed for Martha's Vineyard.
"This is dressed up [and] we don't do this here. I don't even wear shoes," she quipped during the event, the Vineyard Gazette reported.

Former first lady Michelle Obama is making a case for summer stripes with her latest Martha's Vineyard look.
Obama stepped out in a green-and-white striped Carolina Herrera halter dress during an appearance at the Martha's Vineyard Author Series, where she joined Michele Norris, MSNBC senior contributing editor and The Race Card Project founder, for a conversation about her book, "The Look."
The former first lady shared photos from the appearance on Instagram on Aug. 26, offering a closer look at the summery ensemble.
The sleeveless dress, designed by Carolina Herrera creative director Wes Gordon as part of the fashion house's pre-fall 2026 collection, featured a plunging halter neckline, fitted ruched bodice and full midi-length skirt. Vertical stripes ran down much of the dress before shifting direction along the hem.
Obama opted to wear the dress without the contrasting belt featured in the collection's original styling. She completed the look with strappy Jimmy Choo sandals, earrings and rings. The former first lady wore her braids pulled into a high ponytail, with several pieces framing her face.

Erling Haaland has surprised his fans with a radical change of look. The Norwegian striker has decided to cut his hair and ditch the ponytail that had become his trademark on the pitch.
The new look replaces the tied-back long hair the player had regularly worn in recent years. The change can be seen in the images he himself has shared on social media.
The ponytail had become a visual hallmark of the Manchester City striker. Its disappearance marks a before and after in the Norwegian's public image.
For now, there are no statements from the player explaining the reasons for the change, although there is an announcement about the haircut session that we will be able to watch on his YouTube channel.

The autonomous driving industry is moving rapidly towards commercialization, with competition intensifying as firms race to commercialize robotaxi services both domestically and overseas. China, in particular, is gaining growing recognition as a major player in the autonomous driving race.
Driverless vehicles are becoming a common sight in China, with companies including Baidu, Inc. (NASDAQ: BIDU), WeRide and Pony AI Inc. (NASDAQ:PONY) operating commercial robotaxi services within select areas. The country's self-driving industry stands apart because it builds around a network of companies.
Autonomous vehicles are being made by established carmakers, specialists develop the software, and use the same batteries, sensors, and chips and as electric cars. The government is backing up the initiative through pilot programs, and China's complex traffic environment helps generate vast amounts of data to improve software.
In its latest endeavor, Chinese autonomous driving company Pony.ai has announced a planned and potential overseas robotaxi deployments of more than 4,000 vehicles, aiming to expand beyond China. This macro setup remains favorable for long-term demand, but profitability inherently depends on factors such as regulatory approvals, vehicle economics, and utilization.

Pony.ai reported Tuesday that its overseas robotaxi deployment pipeline has grown to more than 4,000 vehicles, as the Chinese autonomous driving company accelerates its push into international markets.
Those vehicles are already under contract, though when each deployment goes live will depend on permitting, regulatory clearances, and other operational factors, Pony.ai CEO James Peng told ******* ysts on a post-earnings call, according to Reuters. Pony.ai offered no indication of when the full roster of planned international launches would be complete, and gave no figures on how many robotaxis it has actually put on the road outside China.
The total includes a contract with Uber for deployment of more than 2,000 robotaxis in Europe, the company said. Pony.ai did not disclose a breakdown of the remaining commitments across other markets.
Pony.ai announced the expanded Uber partnership last week, which builds on an existing commercial robotaxi service in Zagreb, Croatia, and adds four more European cities. Under the arrangement, Pony.ai contributes its autonomous driving technology and operational expertise, Uber provides its ride-hailing platform, and locally selected providers handle fleet tasks such as maintenance and charging.
Beyond Europe, Pony.ai said it has also advanced robotaxi operations in Luxembourg in collaboration with Bolt and Stellantis, and in Singapore made its robotaxi service available to the general public through ComfortDelGro's Zig app.

On August 14, Pony.ai (NASDAQ:PONY) said it would deploy more than 2,000 robotaxis across Europe under an expanded partnership with Uber (NYSE:UBER) that dates back to May 2025. The rollout stretches from an existing commercial service in Zagreb, Croatia to four additional European cities, with plans to reach the Middle East as well. For a company built on human drivers, that expansion says a lot about where Uber thinks its next act is headed.
Uber's driver network is also its biggest expense. In the second quarter, the platform processed $58 billion in gross bookings, and $25 billion of that went straight to its 10.2 million drivers, the single largest cost on the books. Every autonomous mile that removes a driver from that equation pushes more of each ride toward Uber's own margins, without Uber needing to build or own a self-driving car itself.
That is the logic behind the model CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has been building: let partners like Pony.ai handle the hardware and software, while Uber supplies the 208 million monthly active customers already on its app. Autonomous vehicles run in seven cities today, and Khosrowshahi has signaled that could double to 15 by the end of 2026, backed by roughly $10 billion Uber plans to commit to its partners over the next few years.
The core business is moving too. Uber added more first-time users over the past year than in any twelve months of the last five; monthly active platform consumers grew 16% year-over-year, and trips rose 18%. Delivery, now more than a third of total sales, grew revenue 28% year-over-year while transportation grew just 1%. Non-GAAP net income climbed 29% to $1.6 billion, an 11.6% margin, and the stock's roughly 8% year-to-date slide has left its price-to-sales ratio at 2.8, well under its 4.1 average since going public in 2019.
Friday's announcement left notable gaps. Pony.ai gave no timeline for when the 2,000-plus robotaxis would actually hit European roads, and the four cities beyond Zagreb went unnamed, as did any specifics on the Middle East plans. For a company betting its next act on autonomy, vague rollout details are a reason for caution as much as excitement.

Megyn Kelly is weighing in following the death of Hayden Panettiere.
Kelly took to her eponymous podcast on Monday, August 17, following the news of Hayden's death at 36, to speculate on the circumstances surrounding her passing.
"I am not surprised to read the news about Hayden Panettiere at all. I am sad. I lament the loss of this young woman, but I don't think it is a pattern we are ever going to correct for because there will always be parents who shove their child into the entertainment industry at too young and too precarious an age and don't have the skills or the desire to rescue them from the fallout that inevitably comes," Kelly, 55, said.
As In Touch previously reported, Hayden was ******* ounced dead after Greenville, South Carolina, officials responded to a 911 call on Sunday, August 16. According to audio obtained by People from the dispatch call on Sunday, responders were called to the apartment after a report of an apparent overdose and cardiac arrest. The Greenville Police Department is investigating the cause of death of the Remember the ******* ans star.
Kelly continued to point the finger at Hayden's parents, Lesley Vogel and Alan "Skip" Lee Panettiere, calling them "enablers" in the years following her rise to fame, with the actress — who shared daughter Kaya, 11, with her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko — admitting to suffering from both postpartum depression and substance abuse over the last decade. Hayden also struggled following the death of her younger brother, Jansen Panettiere, who died in February 2023 at the age of 28 due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

The icy blue silk top featured a halter neckline, a sleeveless silhouette, and a high-low hem. The cascading train trailed behind her as she moved on the red carpet. Ronald Araujo has been signed on loan to provide cover centrally and at right-back.
Fabrizio Romano now reports that the impending arrival of the Barcelona star will not fully close Liverpool off to the potential of signing a right-back.
However, it seems that it's not a position the Reds are intending to box off with a specialist solution in the market as things currently stand.
As things stand, Liverpool have evidently landed Araujo to cover their defensive shortcomings ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
"Will they also sign a right-back? My understanding is that Liverpool will never close doors to things in general, as with the market things can always change," the Italian transfer news expert spoke on his eponymous YouTube channel.

The Atlanta Dream faced the Las Vegas Aces on Monday night in Atlanta. The game was also a celebration of Reese, whom Atlanta acquired over the offseason via a trade with the Chicago Sky.
The game was themed "Barbie Night" in celebration of both Reese's nickname and her recently debuted signature Barbie doll with Mattel, featuring Reese's ponytail, pink nails, and an all-pink game-day look.
Before the game, the All-Star forward spoke about the importance of having a doll that black girls could see themselves in.
"I didn't have a lot of dolls because I didn't have dolls that looked like me much, and that's why I kind of wanna really wanted to make sure this was super intentional," she said.
Unfortunately for Reese and the Dream, the game didn't quite go as they'd hoped. Atlanta lost in blowout fashion with a final score of 109-87. Still, Barbie came to play, finishing the contest with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and a +- of -3, which is especially impressive considering the 22-point loss.

The Atlanta Dream played host to the Las Vegas Aces on Monday night in a matchup of two teams firmly in the WNBA playoff picture entering the last two months of the regular season. The night was even more special for Atlanta as it celebrated "Barbie Night," which honored star forward Angel Reese, whose nickname is "Barbie."
Reese recently debuted her own signature Barbie doll with Mattel, featuring Reese's ponytail, pink nails, and an all-pink game-day look, and talked before the game about the importance of having a doll that young black dolls could play with.
"I didn't have a lot of dolls because I didn't have dolls that looked like me much, and that's why I kind of wanna really wanted to make sure this was super intentional," she said before the game.
Although the Dream lost in blowout fashion, with a final score of 109-87, Reese made sure to leave her mark on the floor. She finished the game with only a -3 +/- in a game Atlanta lost by 22 points, and scored 23 points of her own on an efficient 10-for-19 from the field, all while snagging 16 rebounds and making a massive impact defensively.
As great as she was, some fans were upset about one play involving Reese in the second half, as the game was starting to get out of hand. During the play in question, Reese inadvertently elbows Aces defender Stephanie Talbot in the face as she makes a move to the basket. Surprisingly, Talbot was called for the foul, and Reese stood over her and made the "and-1" gesture while Talbot held her face on the ground.

WAPAKONETA — The second day of the 174th Auglaize County Fair found 4-H families at the Horse Arena for the annual Horse and Pony Show, with competitions kicking off at 9 a.m. and continuing late into the evening.
The Junior Fair showcases and competitions are organized by the Auglaize County Junior Fair Board, comprised of local youth in a 4-H club, vocational agricultural or family and consumer science group, Junior Grange, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts units or Farm Bureau Youth Council.
Monday's exhibition was organized by Horse Chair Ollie Chisholf, 18, a member of the Buckeye Beavers 4-H Club in St. Marys.
"This is the pleasure show for the junior fair horses," he explained. "A lot of people know the horse shows for the speed and the barrels and the poles, but this is showmanship, horsemanship."
Pleasure shows evaluate a horse's disposition, gait and manners, or how "pleasureable" they are to ride. 4-H members ages 6 through 18 demonstrated their showmanship and control over their horses by guiding them through a series of intricate "patterns."

After a dominant run through the East Zone Tournament, the Hagerstown PONY-13 All-Stars will fly to California to play in the PONY-13 World Series in Carlsbad starting Friday, July 31.
"I don't think it will set in completely until they get out to California and see the Dominican Republic, ****** an, France, Mexico," said manager Jeff Mills. "When they start seeing these guys they get to play against, it's going to kind of hit them. But I don't think these boys will get nervous."
Hagerstown outscored its opponents by a combined 39-8 in the East Zone. Hagerstown broke a 4-4 tie with a pair of runs in the sixth inning of a 7-4 win over Athletix in the opener, then blew open its other two games with 10-run innings while defeating the Ohio Prospects 16-1 and Athletix 16-3 in the ****** le game.
"They played great the whole weekend," Mills said. "They're very mature for their age. They never got down at any point in the tournament, just stayed strong. The pitchers threw great. ****** ody had a really rough outing. Defensively, there were only two or three errors. They're solid the whole way around.
"When they put up 10 runs on Ohio, that was a big confidence boost because at that point they knew they'd have to get beat twice in the championship round. Then they put up 10 again."

NavajoStirling believes KhamzatChimaev is a one-dimensional fighter.

After Chimaev suffered the first loss of his professional career, the hype surrounding the former Ultimate Fighting Championship champion has dampened. Stirlingrecently called him a "one-trick pony" and wants Chimaev to move upto light heavyweight so they can fight.
While Stirling acknowledges that Chimaev would bring much attentionto the 205-pound division, the unbeaten Kiwi wants to expose how"Borz" isn't a well-rounded fighter.

"I think he's a bit of a one-trick pony," Stirling told Full SendMMA. "I would love to fight him. I want to test my theory againstsomeone like that. I would love for some bigger names to come tothe division that could bring some hype."

Chimaev was undefeated and a massive betting favorite going intohis first middleweight ***** le defense against SeanStrickland at UFC 328 this past May. However, he visibly gassed out after afailed takedown attempt in the second round and completelyabandoned his wrestling thereafter.

Strickland then out-landed Chimaev on the feet en route to amassive upset win via split decision. UFC CEO DanaWhite later claimed that Chimaev had discussed a move up tolight heavyweight in the immediate aftermath of his firstprofessional loss. However, he has since been repeatedly callingfor a rematch against Strickland.

Meanwhile, Stirling has racked up five UFC wins, with two finishes, since making his Octagon debut in 2024. He is now scheduled tofight JanBlachowicz on less than three weeks' notice at UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1 in Serbia.

Sooner or later, Tony D'Amico will deliver a new attacking signing to Gian Piero Gasperini. The question is: How far down his list of targets will he have to go to land a new weapon for Gasperini? With Mason Greenwood heading to Turkey, Alejandro Garnacho to Aston Villa, and Crysencio Summerville to Saudi Arabia, the three players most closely linked to the Giallorossi have now signed elsewhere.
Now, it seems that Roma has zeroed in on Antonio Nusa of RB Leipzig as its new main target. However, the price tag being bandied about for Nusa may be even higher than the reported agreed-upon fee Roma had with West Ham for Summerville. And there appears to be competition from Premier League side Newcastle, which may push the reported €55 million minimum negotiating point higher.
So, with that in mind, D'Amico will have to have be ready to pivot to plan E or F before long. And those appear to be Andreas Schjelderup of Benfica e Said El Mala of Koln. We reported on Schjelderup a couple days ago, but he may be too rich for Roma's blood. That leave El Mala as the more likely alternative.
El Mala is a 19-year-old winger who is part of the Germany under-21 setup and is coming off a 13-goal and 3-assist campaign for Bundesliga side Köln. It's reported that Borussia Dortmund had an €26 million fixed fee, with €16 million in possible bonuses, offer rejected by Koln. The reason: Köln will only listen to offers of €50 million and up— a fee that seems a bit high for a player with a limited track record.
But with Roma having difficulty securing more proven profiles at a similar fee, could D'Amico pony up the cash just to get fresh talent through the Trigoria doors?

What can we expect from new Boston Celtics big man Mitchell Robinson? As Liverpool continue their pursuit of Yan Diomande, one respected journalist has suggested that a deal could be ‘done in the next day or two’, but is more likely to ‘drag on’ for a few more weeks.
The Reds have had an opening offer of €100m (£86.8m) turned down by RB Leizpig, who are also expected to say no to a proposed second bid of €120m (£103.5m) including add-ons, according to reports from Germany.
There’s understood to be an ‘agreement’ in place with the 19-year-old’s representatives, but persuading his club to do business could be decidedly tougher.
