As we march toward Money in the Bank, here's four takeaways from Sunday night in "the A."
In a WrestleMania rematch, Orton and Rhodes picked up right where they left off with a brawl throughout the arena Sunday night. We've seen plenty of "no fighting until the fight" stipulations, but this is the first time I can remember both wrestlers immediately brawling once they were in the ring together to pay off a month's worth of tension.
Orton and Rhodes hit all the high notes, with the duo matching intensities throughout a hard-hitting bout. Rhodes teased the punt to Orton, but once he couldn't pull the trigger, the wily veteran Orton took advantage and found an opening for the win.
I'm really interested to see where we go from here. This story feels similar to what played out in the run-up to WrestleMania, with Rhodes needing to find another gear and using heel-like tactics in the actual match to retain his WWE **** le. It'll be interesting to see what threads these two opt to tug on to make the next chapter in this rivalry compelling.

Leading 19-0 going into halftime, Texas A&M's defense shut down the Bears throughout the night, which continued into the third and fourth quarters, allowing 67 total yards, including a pedestrian 37 rushing yards. The four — potentially five — match card features two heavyweight clashes. The main event is set to feature a rematch between WrestleMania 42 foes Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton. Orton returned last month at SummerSlam to attack Rhodes and cost him his match against CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship. For the better part of two decades, Rhodes and Orton have been linked together as legacy (pun intended) WWE stars. Sunday marks the next chapter in their long-running story.
On the "Raw" side, two of WWE's brightest young talents meet as Oba Femi takes on Bron Breakker. Femi has been the undeniable breakout star of 2026 in WWE, having won the King of the Ring tournament and retiring Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam last month. Femi's rise has irked Breakker, which spawned this rivalry in recent weeks.

Texas A&M football's suffocating defense paved the way for a 50-0 victory against the Missouri State Bears to kick off the 2026 campaign at Kyle Field on Saturday night.
The Aggies' first-team defense gave up just 55 yards on 29 plays in the season opener. Meanwhile, junior quarterback Marcel Reed showed his offseason development, throwing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Texas A&M had three running backs rush for over 40 yards, 77 of which came from senior Rueben Owens II.
Noah Mikhail led the way on defense with seven tackles, followed by transfer linebacker Ray Coney, who notched six tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss, with Texas A&M's sole forced turnover coming from Ryan Henderson.
For head coach Mike Elko, the performance marked his 20th win as the head coach in Aggieland, but he's looking for much more this season. That includes a massive non-conference matchup against Arizona State in an SEC-versus-Big 12 showdown in Bryan-College Station next Saturday.

The Bears flashed some great plays, while the Aggies showcased their SEC power and depth. Here are some takeaways from Missouri State's road game at Kyle Field.
Although the score reads a major blowout, Missouri State's defense kept the Bears in the game in the first half.

WWE's roster is deeper than it has been in years, and the booking sheet coming out of SummerSlam shows it. CM Punk is carrying the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown. Roman Reigns holds the World Heavyweight Championship on Raw. Solo Sikoa has become the most over act on either brand. Kevin Owens is back after 17 months away with a neck injury and already has an argument for another ***** le shot.
The problem sits on the other side of the card. Punk and Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam was a battle of a babyface against a babyface. Reigns and Seth Rollins were the same. Sikoa is a babyface, LA Knight is a babyface, and Randy Orton returned as a heel and got cheered anyway. Sami Zayn blasting both Punk and Owens with the ***** le belt in Toronto was the first real attempt to fix that.
So there are plenty of creative changes that can be made soon. With that in mind, we ask about five adjustments that should be considered. Each of these is a decision WWE could make on television inside the next few months. None of them require a signing, a trade, or a budget. They only require someone in the writers' room to pull the trigger.

Alexa Bliss pitched this pairing herself, and she has been open about why it works. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bliss described the appeal of the run with Charlotte Flair as getting to see "both of us letting our guards down and having fun." The two held the Women's Tag Team Championships for 100 days and have since added Tatum Paxley to the group on SmackDown, where they are working opposite Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab.

Hull City have signed midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Everton in a £22m deal and secured a loan agreement with option to buy for Robinio Vaz from Roma.
Iroegbunam, 23, leaves the Toffees after two years at the club for an initial £13m, although the fee could rise by a further £9m with add-ons, and has signed a five-year deal with The Tigers.
Roma have confirmed France Under-20 international Vaz, 19, has also joined the Premier League club on deadline day to further bolster their attack.
The Tigers have also secured forward Ilyas Ansah from Union Berlin and agreed a £12m deal for Genoa right-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

The New England Patriots announced on Monday that they have put punter Bryce Baringer and rookie linebacker Khalil Jacobs on injured reserve.
That explains the team's decision to sign veteran punter Mitch Wishnowsky to the practice squad. By going on IR, both Baringer and Jacobs will have to miss at least four games before having a shot at returning.
Jacobs, an undrafted rookie out of Missouri, was one of the training camp standouts at a position that lacked depth. He flashed as an immediate contributor for the Patriots and earned a spot on the initial 53-man roster. When it comes to finding and developing young talent, the Patriots might look back on this one as a steal if Jacobs can get healthy and continue his upward trajectory.
As for Baringer, he looked great during the preseason. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury in the team's Week 2 preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the team was forced to turn to backup quarterback Behren Morton to punt.
They signed Matt Haack to close out the preseason against the Cleveland Browns. Now, they'll likely move forward with Wishnowsky for the Week 1 Super Bowl rematch against the Seattle Seahawks.

After finalizing their initial 53-man roster Sunday, the Rams announced Monday that they had signed 17 players to the practice squad, taking advantage of the additional spot available through the NFL's International Player Pathway program. The official group includes 16 traditional practice-squad players and international punter Jack Bouwmeester.
A significant portion of the practice squad consists of players who have already spent time with Los Angeles.
Six players — Tanner Ingle, Cam Lampkin, Elias Neal, Bill Norton, Brennan Presley and Jordan Waters — were on the Rams' practice squad during the 2025 season. All six signed Reserve/Future contracts with Los Angeles earlier this offseason after spending time on the practice squad last year.

Tory Horton approaches the 2026 NFL season as an under-the-radar player with immense talent and a great amount of potential to become a significant part of the Seattle Seahawks' passing attack. Opportunities will dictate whether or not he will emerge in surprise fashion next season.
Horton recorded 13 receptions for 161 receiving yards and five REC touchdowns in 2025. He averaged 12.4 yards per reception and had multiple big time plays on the year. His 59.1 percent catch rate showed that he has room for improvement, but what met the eye showed a player capable of turning into a dynamic receiver with the ability to make plays after the catch and operate in all three phases of the field.
Horton has the size, route detail and ball skills to work in multiple roles. He has sound footwork, and a mesmerizing stride that enables him to pick up yards after receptions. He does not need to be the Seahawks' primary receiver to make an impact, as exemplified by how much of a scoring threat he was in his limited role last season. The Seahawks' wide receiver room has ***** e for him to upset the pecking order and make more of a name for himself in 2026.
A strong season will depend on opportunity and consistency. Horton must earn Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold's trust by getting open more and finishing catches.
Still, his talent and skills are evident. In the event that Horton sees an uptick in targets at some point next season based off of his route precision and catch ability, his regular season production may reflect who he is as a talent more and help him become one of Seattle's most dependable complementary receivers in 2026, or even perhaps a fixture of the offense.

The New England Patriots were quite busy over the weekend, making 42 combined transactions to go from previously 91 to 53 players on their active roster. A majority of those moves were expected to happen, but the team of head coach Mike Vrabel nonetheless managed to pull off some minor surprises.
With that in mind, let's take a look at the moves that can be qualified as surprises through the lens of our established winners and losers format. It would be easy to label the 53 men on the active roster as winners and the rest as losers, but every situation is different and the reality much more nuanced than simply asking who is in or out.
QB Behren Morton: With Drake Maye a franchise-caliber player and Tommy DeVito an able and experienced backup, the top of the Patriots' quarterback depth chart was set in stone throughout the summer. The question was whether or not Morton had done enough to warrant being kept as one of the 53 players on the roster. Turns out he had. Despite some shortcomings elsewhere on the team, he made it through cutdown day as QB3 and the projected emergency option on game day.
OT Dametrious Crownover: Shortly before the cutdown deadline at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, the Patriots made a trade with the Vikings to bring in versatile offensive lineman Walter Rouse, a player capable of lining up at both tackle and guard. And yet, despite his presence, the team decided to keep four pure tackles on the initial 53. Three of those — Will Campbell, Morgan Moses, Caleb Lomu — were set in stone to begin with, but Crownover's position seemed less secure with Rouse in the mix. However, he seemingly had nothing to worry about and done enough over the summer to secure a roster spot in lieu of nominal OT4 Marcus Bryant.
ED Quintayvious Hutchins: The defensive edge had been in the spotlight going back to the offseason, and it remains a question at this point as well. Through the cutdown deadline, however, the Patriots opted to go with four players, Hutchins among them. His inclusion over fellow edges Bradyn Swinson and Jesse Luketa might have come surprisingly, but the seventh-round draft pick has developed nicely over the summer to make the pair expendable.

Here are three things we learned from the dominant win over the Jets.
The Giants signed veteran running back Najee Harris last week, which has led to questions surrounding workload distribution and snap counts. Harris isn't flashy, but he is the perfect early-down back who can soften up defenses. He gives the Giants a lot of options in the running game. They run five deep and should be fresh for four quarters this year. The Giants want to run the ball a lot this season, and we're seeing what that will look like.
The one thing the Giants were counting on when they hired John Harbaugh was his ability to build strong special teams. It didn't take him very long. He has a top punter in free agent Jordan Stout and now appears to have a rising star at kicker in Dominic Zvada. The return and coverage teams have been playing with more discipline under coordinator Chris Horton.

Texas A&M's 2026 season opener vs. Missouri State is just eight days away, as the Aggies will begin in-season practice on Friday, completely focused on the task ahead after 16 preseason practices over the past three weeks. Overall, every position group had their moments, while redshirt junior quarterback Marcel Reed has improved every facet of his game, especially his accuracy, touch, and pocket presence.
Aided by one of the deepest wide receiver rotations in the country, now including Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, Reed's improvement is based on eye witness accounts from every local beat writer and Texas A&M media member, while an anonymous source, who spoke with On3 insider Pete Nakos, confirmed that Reed has indeed taken the next step in his development, echoing coach Mike Elko's statement earlier this month.
You don't have to take it from me, but thanks to the Texas A&M media team for releasing several videos that featured Marcel Reed connecting with Isaiah Horton and star junior Mario Craver for 50-plus-yard passes with pinpoint accuracy, showcasing his poise in the pocket and improved footwork, which, if the revamped offensive line holds up, the sky is the limit for Texas A&M's passing game.
"Marcel is more accurate, has more of a presence and has another year of playing football for Mike Elko," a source stated to On3.
Texas A&M's loaded wide receiver corps also features former five-star prospect Terry Bussey, who Aggie fans have been waiting for to break out after two seasons, and through nearly every preseason practice, the 2026 season could be the year Bussey finally reaches his potential, with the same source agreeing.

The New England Patriots had punter Jamie Gillan in for a tryout, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss, as the team looks to add depth following the injury to Bryce Baringer in Week 2 of the preseason.
Baringer was not feeling well after his first two punts in the Patriots' 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles last Saturday. The Patriots signed veteran punter Matt Haack to spell for Baringer while the latter recovers.
Gillan has played seven seasons in the NFL. He began his career playing for the Cleveland Browns from 2019-21, before playing for the New York Giants from 2022-25. Gillan played in 16 games for the Giants last season and recorded 2,088 net yards on punts on the year.
The Patriots do not have a backup punter behind Haack with Baringer out. Patriots rookie quarterback Behren Morton handled punting duties in place of Baringer after the latter left the game against the Eagles. However, Gillan is now in consideration to be signed by New England with the 2026 season just under two weeks away from beginning.

Alexis Morton gave Collinsville almost nothing to work with Tuesday night.
When the Lady Cardinals did manage to put something together, Claremore made sure it went nowhere.
Morton scattered 3 hits across 6 2/3 scoreless innings, while the Lady Zebras broke the game open with a 4-run third inning en route to a 7-0 victory in their District 5A-4 opener.
Claremore improved to 6-7 overall and 1-0 in district play, while Collinsville dropped to 4-6 and 0-2.

The two sides meet in the cup for the second season running, after a 1-0 win for the Whites at Garforth last term where Darcie Greene's incredible solo goal proved the difference.
Last time out for Leeds was a convincing 3-0 win on the road at Chester-le-Street Town Ladies with Amy Woodruff netting a hattrick to guarantee the three points and take home the match ball.
The centre-forward had the Whites in the driving seat at the break after converting instinctively from Darcie Greene's mazy run down the left flank, before bagging two more in the closing stages of the match - another Greene cross tap-in and a glancing header.
The hosts are coming into the clash off the back of a 4-2 win over Norton and Stockton Ancients on home turf, having three first half goals complimented by a stoppage time fourth.

As entertaining as Halle Berry is to watch on screen, her social media presence has also proven to be incredibly delightful in recent years. The Oscar winner seems to enjoy sharing sweet, little tidbits of her personal life with her fans, and I'm here for it. Berry has been particularly active online over the past month due to the John Wick alum celebrating her 60th birthday. She's already posted about that major life milestone and, now, she's marking the occasion one more time. And a little black dress was involved.
Berry has evidently been living it up throughout her entire birthday month, and she most recently shared an update to Instagram. The actress' post is filled with photos and videos that chronicle her birthday festivities, which took place at a resort in Los Cabos, Mexico. Also present in some of the clips and snapshots is Van Hunt, Berry's fiancé. Take a look at the post below, which sees Berry dancing, singing and frolicking while wearing that LBD:
Few people can sport a little, black dress the way Halle Berry can, and I'd argue that the A-lister can make just about any fit look good. Aside from that, though, I can't help but smile at the sight of her soaking up everything that 60 has to offer thus far. She may have hit the big 6-0 on August 14th, but she makes it clear in the caption of this latest post that she's been celebrating for a while. The Patriots are set to add a new punter to the roster in the near future.
Bryce Baringer left Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles after punting twice and the team had to use backup quarterback Behren Morton as their punter for the rest of the game.
Head coach Mike Vrabel said after the game that Baringer wasn't feeling great as an explanation for the change. Vrabel did not go into details about the nature of the issue at a Monday press conference, but said "it's serious enough" that the team will likely be signing a punter.
Baringer has been New England's punter for the last three seasons. He has a net average of 41 yards per kick over his career.

Drake Maye did not take a snap Saturday night, but the New England Patriots still found a way to create explosive plays through the air. That might have been the most encouraging offensive development from their 24-21 preseason victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Tommy DeVito and Behren Morton each threw a long touchdown to a young receiver. The two scoring plays covered a combined 106 yards and showed that New England's reserve offense does not have to rely entirely on short throws and methodical drives.
The Patriots' postgame press conferences offered additional insight into how those plays developed.
For a team evaluating its depth behind Maye and a veteran-heavy receiving group, the answers were promising.
