After her mother was treated for breast cancer when she was a teen, Alison Hall says she "thought there may be a risk that I would get breast cancer at some point in my life."
But as the Inside Edition reporter, now 34, tells PEOPLE, "I thought it was something I would deal with much later, at least in my 40s, if not 50s, 60s." Her doctors shared that view, telling Hall that she should start getting mammograms around the time she turned 40.
