The Seahawks are back inside Lumen Field Saturday evening to play a game for the first time since they won the NFC championship there over the Los Angeles Rams in late January. Twenty of the 22 starters for Seattle in that home ****** le game 6 1/2 months ago are back for this season.
But almost all the guys who won that game and got Seattle into Super Bowl 60 will be watching, not playing, Saturday during the first preseason game for the new season, against the Dallas Cowboys (5 p.m., KING-5 television).
"A lot of our established starters won't be playing. They'll be going through the warmup and everything," coach Mike Macdonald said following his Seahawks' light, walk-through practice Friday.

One of the biggest positives to come out of Bayern Munich's Asia tour may have had very little to do with the results.
The tour gave Vincent Kompany and the Bayern Munich coaching staff an extended look at several young players who might otherwise have struggled to get meaningful opportunities with the first team. With a number of established players unavailable because of the World Cup, the door was opened for some of Bayern Munich's prospects to travel with the squad and earn valuable playing time.
According to Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer (via iMiaSanMia_GER), what the club saw was extremely encouraging.
"It was important during the Asia tour to see that many of the young players have enormous potential. Because some established players weren't there due to the World Cup, many young ones were able to travel along and also got playing time. When one sees someone like that (Bastian) ***** omo or (Tim) Binder, (Maycon) Cardozo or Bara (Sapoko Ndiaye), there's a lot of potential there," said Hainer.

The Oklahoma Sooners enter the 2026 college football season without many question marks on the defensive side of the ball. The Sooners possess one of the best defensive units in the sport.
However, the question marks the team has usually have to do with depth at certain positions. Cornerback is a position where the Sooners feel confident. Eli Bowen and Courtland Guillory are established starters and Jacobe Johnson has been a very good rotational player in his career. However, Oklahoma likes to be able to play four cornerbacks, and after losing Devon Jordan to the transfer portal, that leaves the fourth spot up for grabs.
Former Sooner All-American linebacker Teddy Lehman said that he thinks former Oklahoma preps star Trystan Haynes could be the guy to take that spot and get into the rotation.
"I really like Trystan Haynes," Lehman said on 'The Oklahoma Breakdown with Ikard and Lehman.' "I've seen some really good stuff from him."
Haynes' emergence would give Oklahoma another young, talented option in the secondary and allow the Sooners to keep their top cornerbacks fresh throughout the season. It would also give the coaching staff more flexibility with its defensive personnel and coverage packages.

Revenue climbed 17% year over year to $3.6 billion, gross booking value rose 16% to $27.2 billion, and adjusted EBITDA jumped 21% to $1.3 billion. It was the kind of quarter that finally shifted the narrative around a stock that had spent years going nowhere.
Nights and seats booked rose 10% to 148.3 million, an acceleration from the first quarter, while GAAP EPS jumped from $1.03 to $1.37, well past the $1.22 **** ysts expected. Management didn't just clear the bar; it raised it for the rest of the year, guiding to at least mid-teens full-year revenue growth and an adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 35.5%, with third quarter revenue seen between $4.69 billion and $4.77 billion. The growth also broadened out. Net origin nights booked accelerated not only in newer expansion markets but in long-established ones too, including the US, France, the UK, and Australia, a sign the improvement is coming from product work rather than a one-time boost.
That product work shows up everywhere. Airbnb has rebuilt itself as what it calls an AI native company, cutting the time from concept to shipped feature by as much as 60% and shipping nearly 80% more features than a year earlier. Hotel nights booked grew roughly three times as fast as the core home business, and about 35% of first-time hotel guests come back to book a home, suggesting the expansion feeds the core rather than competing with it. With more than 9 million active listings across 220 countries and roughly 2 billion guest arrivals since 2008, Airbnb also sits on a depth of host history that AI rivals have little of their own to draw from.
None of this comes cheap. Airbnb has long carried a valuation premium tied to growth expectations, and a stock that just hit a four-year high raises the bar for what needs to keep going right. Reported free cash flow also leans on a non-cash boost, since stock-based compensation made up roughly 34% of operating cash flow in fiscal 2025, meaning some of that cash generation isn't as clean as the headline number suggests. Regulation is a live risk too. New European Union rules taking effect in May 2026 require more transparency and data sharing from short-term rental platforms, adding compliance costs on top of restrictions cities like New York have already imposed.

Aug 11 (Reuters) - The Trump administration on Tuesday finalized a rule exempting U.S. companies and individuals from ‌reporting beneficial ownership information to the Treasury Department's financial ‌crimes unit, rolling back reporting requirements established under a 2021 law aimed at combating illicit finance.
The Treasury Department's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, will still require foreign reporting companies to disclose beneficial ownership information for foreign individuals, the department said in a ‌statement.
"Treasury is eliminating a ⁠burdensome reporting requirement for millions of law-abiding business owners without compromising our national security," Treasury ⁠Secretary Scott Bessent said in the statement.
Beneficial owners are defined as anyone who has an ownership interest of at least 25% in a business or someone who exerts "substantial control" over the entity.
FinCEN ‌had previously implemented rules requiring certain companies to report beneficial ownership data as part of anti-corruption and anti-money laundering efforts backed by lawmakers and the Treasury Department under former President Joe Biden.

The acquisition attempt represents a rare role reversal, in which a private fintech firm, backed by major financial investors, is trying to buy out an established market leader.
While both platforms dominate online commerce processing, PayPal Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:PYPL) and Stripe represent contrasting business architectures and growth trajectories within fintech. PayPal operates as a consumer-facing ecosystem with hundreds of millions of active digital wallets alongside its merchant services. That dual-sided model gives PayPal deep brand recognition, yet leaves it exposed to changing consumer payment preferences and margin pressure in basic checkout processing.
Stripe functions as developer-first infrastructure, embedding payment capabilities directly into application software, SaaS platforms, and enterprise marketplaces. While PayPal Holdings, Inc. The wins are rare and not so easily attained for the Dodgers at this specific moment in the season. And hosting the Royals, it took all that this team had to outlast the opposition in a 6-5 victory in a back-and-forth matchup with multiple lead changes, ultimately decided on a Freddie Freeman RBI single.
Allowing a run in the first, Tarik Skubal didn't deliver a lights-out performance, but how a pitcher handles outings with some form of adversity can often be the true measure of him. The Royals were relatively lucky to get on the board early on with a softly hit single from Nick Loftin that found the right spot—followed by an RBI knock from Jac Caglianone on a groundball that should've found a Dodger glove but didn't, as Miguel Rojas and Mookie Betts didn't react well enough to make a play. Those two singles were enough for the run because once Bobby Witt Jr. replaced Loftin on the basepaths after a forceout, he showed off his speed by swiftly stealing second, his AL-leading 32nd SB.
It would not be the only time Caglianone would hurt Skubal, as a couple of innings later, he would hit a two-run shot on a hanging slider to hand the Royals a 3-0 lead. What was particular about that at-bat was the unpredictable attack plan of Skubal versus Caglianone, with the slider being the fifth different pitch he threw to Caglianone. The problem is that unpredictability can only do so much if hangers are coming to the plate.
Laboring a bit more than he is used to per inning, Skubal established a very high pitch count in the first few frames, allowing him to just complete five, not before getting the final laugh on Caglianone, though. Caglianone came up to the plate with two on and two out in the fifth with the chance to do the most damage in this one. Skubal gave him a recipe of nothing but heaters that laid the groundwork for a strike three swinging on a changeup down and in, a dangerous pitch to throw to the tall lefty, but one that worked out.
Chasing the game from the start, the Dodgers didn't spend a lot of time trailing by those three runs, answering the Royals' two-run third with two of their own in the bottom of the frame. The lefties provided the big hits against Noah Cameron as a Shohei Ohtani RBI double was followed by a Freddie Freeman single to make it 3-2.

Angel Reese has not needed much time to leave her mark on the Atlanta Dream's record book. Now, one of the biggest single-season records in WNBA history is within her reach.
Reese recorded 20 points and 14 rebounds in Atlanta's 107-95 victory over the Toronto Tempo on Monday night. The three-time All-Star shot 7-of-14 from the field, made five of her six free throws and connected on one of her three attempts from beyond the arc.
The performance delivered more than another productive night for Atlanta's star forward. It gave Reese her 22nd double-double of the season, establishing a new Dream single-season franchise record. With 12 games remaining on Atlanta's schedule, Reese has a realistic opportunity to catch Alyssa Thomas' WNBA record of 28 double-doubles in one season.
Reese arrived in Atlanta with an established reputation as one of the most relentless rebounders in basketball. She has only strengthened it during her first season with the Dream.
