Walmart and SCAN Health Plan announced a partnership on Wednesday to offer co-branded Medicare Advantage plans in two states, targeting a pool of more than two million Medicare enrollees.
The plans, pending regulatory approval, may include pharmacy, vision, food, and over-the-counter benefits, the companies said. Open enrollment for Medicare Advantage begins Oct. 15, according to MarketWatch.
A central feature of the partnership is Walmart's Everyday Health Signals platform, an AI tool designed to provide personalized nutrition and wellness guidance based on members' shopping preferences and self-reported wellness goals. The companies said they plan to make that capability available to participating plan members as part of broader coaching and wellness support.
"By combining Walmart's technology capabilities and consumer retail expertise with SCAN's Medicare product experience, we have an opportunity to develop products that translate those insights into meaningful support that helps members make more informed choices about their health and well-being," said Zack Myers, national general manager of SCAN Health Plan, in a statement.
Walmart Group Director for Consumer Health and Data Solutions Pravene Nath said the collaboration is distinct because of Walmart's role in customers' everyday lives. "Because customers regularly turn to Walmart for groceries and other everyday essentials, we have an opportunity for those who choose to participate, to use insights from their shopping experiences to make nutrition guidance more relevant and actionable," Nath said in a statement.

Wednesday’s Senate confirmation hearing wasn’t the first time much of the American public met Dr. Nicole Saphier and heard her perspective; President Donald Trump’s nominee for US surgeon general is a health and wellness influencer who has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers through her podcast and social media platforms.
In some ways, the surgeon general position – often referred to as the nation’s doctor – is the original health influencer, tasked with translating science into terms that are easy to understand and guiding the public on ways to improve their health.
“For a decade, I have specialized in translating complex, fast-evolving medical information on various media platforms into content that millions of Americans can understand and use, including during the uncertainty of the global pandemic,” Saphier, a radiologist and Fox News contributor, said in Wednesday’s hearing.
“I realized then how badly this country needs public health communication that is straightforward and grounded in the best evidence available,” she said. “My years of communicating directly with the public have prepared me to explain complex topics in a way that they can understand.”
But experts say that social media has changed how people receive health information, with increasingly blurred lines as to who is considered to have authority and expertise – and that bringing an influencer into the role of surgeon general presents both opportunities and challenges.

International Business Machines (IBM) is building a rather interesting corner of the enterprise artificial intelligence (AI) market. The company has combined its hybrid-cloud expertise with foundation models and deep government and scientific partnerships, while its Prithvi family of open models now spans weather, geospatial, and lunar data.
That gives IBM a credible position in domain-specific AI, particularly where the stakes are too high for generic models to wing it. The latest example is the NASA IBM Lunar Foundation Model, open-sourced on Thursday, Sept. 10, which brings decades of multi-instrument lunar observations into a unified, machine-learning-ready dataset and model.

Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM) is facing a mixed outlook after GE Aerospace agreed to acquire Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) for about $11.75 billion to secure more control over critical engine castings and expand production capacity. The announcement initially hit Howmet shares, which fell about 10%, as investors worried that GE could eventually rely less on outside suppliers such as Howmet.
However, Howmet CEO John Plant said he is comfortable with the deal and remains confident in Howmet's ability to grow. The bigger issue for Howmet right now appears to be how quickly it can expand capacity to keep up with soaring demand. Commercial aircraft production, defense activity and aftermarket demand are all increasing, while Howmet is also benefiting from demand for turbine components used in data centers. Plant said the scale of the required capital expansion is itself "testing" the company.
The strongest bullish argument for Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM) is that GE's decision to spend nearly $12 billion on CPP validates how strategically valuable aerospace castings and engine components have become. The acquisition is aimed at addressing a supply bottleneck rather than signaling weak demand. GE expects airfoil demand to rise by more than 30% through 2030, while aircraft manufacturers and defense customers continue to push production higher. That creates a favorable industry backdrop for Howmet as well.
Howmet also has an opportunity to benefit from customers looking for additional capacity outside GE's newly integrated supply chain. If demand continues to exceed available casting capacity, Howmet's existing manufacturing footprint and expertise could give it significant pricing power and support further investment. Plant's comments that the company is being "tested" by the sheer scale of expansion suggest that Howmet is dealing with a capacity problem caused by strong demand, rather than a lack of orders.
Another positive is that Howmet Aerospace Inc. (NYSE:HWM)'s exposure extends beyond commercial aircraft. Its blades and vanes are also used in gas turbines serving the rapidly expanding data-center market, providing another avenue for growth alongside aerospace. Plant has also indicated that the company intends to revisit its longer-term revenue targets, after previously saying revenue could potentially double from 2025 levels within three to five years.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) is stepping up its push into AI-powered autonomy as the company looks to help customers build, move and power progress more safely and efficiently. On September 2, it announced a collaboration with FieldAI to advance the development of physical AI, autonomy and robotics.
The partnership could help accelerate Caterpillar's transition beyond the traditional sale of heavy equipment toward AI-enabled autonomous industrial systems. FieldAI is a potentially valuable partner because its AI models are designed to help robots perceive, understand, and navigate complex, unpredictable environments.
Caterpillar could combine FieldAI's technology with its equipment-engineering expertise and operational data to improve autonomous operations in challenging environments. Over time, the collaboration could complement Caterpillar's broader push toward increasingly autonomous equipment and workflows.
The FieldAI partnership could also strengthen Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT)'s autonomous opportunity in construction. Caterpillar already has extensive experience with autonomous mining equipment, but construction presents a potentially much larger and more complex opportunity.
The biggest opportunity could come from deploying autonomous equipment at smaller, dynamic construction sites, where unpredictable environments and changing workflows make automation more difficult.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has created trillions of dollars' worth of value for some of America's largest organizations over the last few years, but not every company in this booming industry has been a winner. C3.ai (NYSE: AI) stock, for instance, is down 22% in 2026 (as of the market close last Friday, Sept. 4), as investors abandon ship over the company's declining revenue and steep losses.
Last September, C3.ai's founder, Thomas Siebel, stepped down from his role as CEO to focus on his health issues. Since he played a central role in the sales and customer relationship management processes, his departure led to a sharp decline in the company's revenue.
Missed Nvidia in 2009? This Rare Signal Is Flashing Again. In 2009, a "Double Down" signal flashed for a little-known chipmaker called Nvidia. For the first time in years, that same "Total Conviction" signal is flashing for a company 1/100th the size of Nvidia. Continue »
Fortunately, Siebel returned to lead C3.ai in May, and he is determined to get things back on track. Is it time for investors to start buying the stock?
Developing AI software applications from scratch can be extremely expensive, and it requires specialized technical expertise. Not every business has those resources, so they rely on service providers like C3.ai that can deliver turnkey solutions. But C3.ai's business model is changing -- it still has a portfolio of ready-made AI apps, but it's also becoming a platform provider.

Prince William reportedly can't stand his brother's latest project. According to a source, Meghan Markle's role in Prince Harry's planned Princess Diana documentary is what's really pushing William over the edge. The Duke of Sussex reportedly wants to honor his late mother with a TV tribute.
Prince William is reportedly 'horrified' over Meghan Markle's role in Prince Harry's Diana documentary. A royal insider told Woman's Day that Harry wants Meghan heavily involved in the project. The insider described her as his producing partner who brings real expertise to the table.
According to the source, Harry feels Meghan's perspective often adds a layer he wouldn't have thought of on his own. Apparently, the couple has already been collecting footage with the Spencer family's support.
Insiders say the Spencers have given Harry's team little reason to slow down. That leaves William as the only real obstacle standing in the way. According to the source, the whole prospect reportedly horrifies William.
Part of the frustration reportedly comes down to comparisons. William allegedly can't stand people framing Meghan as a "Diana 2.0," especially with the project unfolding on UK soil. The source claims William believes it's actually Kate who resembles his mother more, quietly devoted without needing the spotlight.

On September 4, Bruker (NASDAQ:BRKR) said its energy and supercon technologies unit, Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies (or BEST), had struck a supply collaboration with Luvata Materials & Solutions to scale up production of RRP superconductors for magnetic confinement fusion. The deal lands right as governments and private developers from Europe to South Korea race to build fusion demonstration plants, and it comes a month after Bruker's core scientific instruments business showed its first real signs of stabilizing. Two very different stories are converging inside one stock.
The Luvata tie-up is not Bruker's first rodeo in fusion. BEST and Luvata previously supplied materials and expertise to ITER, the international fusion megaproject, and to the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator, two of the most advanced superconducting plasma facilities ever built. Their RRP superconductors, wires built with the Rod-Restack Process to withstand field strengths between 12 and 20 Tesla, already run inside CERN's Large Hadron Collider and in ultra-high field NMR magnets. That track record matters now because fusion programs are ramping across Europe, the Americas, China, ***** an and South Korea, and Gauss Fusion has already begun evaluating RRP superconductors for its Gauss Industrial Demonstrator and GIGA power plant platform.
The segment is already delivering. On August 4, Bruker reported that BEST revenue climbed 11.9% year over year to $74.2 million in the second quarter, with organic growth of 8.9% net of intercompany eliminations, while first-half BEST revenue rose 12.3% to $141 million. That growth showed up in Bruker's bottom line too. Non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 14.1% from 9% a year earlier, and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share grew to $0.49 from $0.32, results strong enough that management kept its full-year non-GAAP EPS growth target of 15% to 17% intact.
None of that shows up on a GAAP basis. Bruker's second-quarter GAAP operating results swung to a $65.3 million loss, versus $11.9 million of GAAP operating income a year earlier, dragged down largely by a $134.9 million non-cash goodwill charge. GAAP diluted earnings per share swung to a loss of $0.41 from a profit of $0.05, and for the first half of 2026 the company posted a GAAP diluted loss per share of $0.39. Impairments do not spend cash, but they are a reminder that some of what Bruker paid for in past acquisitions is now being written down.

Palantir shares gained 7.7% on September 3, the same day PwC US expanded an alliance built around enterprise AI, M&A, and ERP modernization. The companies described an AI-native deals platform intended to execute transactions up to 50% faster and cut one-time costs by as much as 45%, but disclosed no new contract value. The same day, Globant introduced a MuleSoft AI Pod for Salesforce integration. Palantir Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:PLTR) and Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) are packaging expertise around software in very different ways.
Palantir's bull case is productized delivery. PwC can bring industry relationships and implementation capacity, while Foundry and AIP remain the recurring platform. Palantir's Q2 revenue rose 93% to $1.94 billion, including 149% growth in U.S. commercial revenue, so the alliance lands on real momentum. Arrowstreet Capital held 20,517,115 shares at June 30 after increasing its stake by 97%.
The valuation is the obvious counterweight. A partnership announcement without disclosed revenue cannot by itself justify a large daily move. Receivables concentration, stock-based compensation, and competition from clouds and consultants deserve attention. Hedge-fund breadth had already weakened: Insider Monkey counted 86 funds holding Palantir at June 30, down from 96 at March 31.
Globant's AI Pod offers a more explicit delivery unit. Configurations support roughly six, 12, or 24 integration flows or APIs per month, and the company cited benchmarks including up to 80% automation and 15% to 25% faster time to value. That makes capacity tangible. Twenty-three hedge funds held Globant S.A. (NYSE:GLOB) in Q2, down from 25 in Q1. Pzena Investment Management reported 3,859,718 shares after adding 31%.
Globant's problem is that reusable pods can still be labor businesses. The service remains on a waitlist, the benchmark outcomes are not guaranteed customer results, and AI may pressure billing rates even as it improves productivity.

Everus finalized its $295 million cash acquisition of Epsilon Industries on September 1. Epsilon is an established designer and manufacturer of mechanical and electrical building infrastructure systems. The transaction was financed using a mix of cash on hand and borrowings under the company's existing credit facilities.
The deal expands Everus' prefabrication and modular construction capabilities, enabling it to cater to high-demand sectors through custom fabrication, design-assist and turnkey installation solutions. These sectors include data centers, advanced manufacturing, and healthcare. Epsilon's numerous strategic centers in the U.S. and Canada will contribute to Everus' nationwide distribution network and augment its current geographic presence within priority growth markets.
By integrating Epsilon's workforce and technical expertise, Everus is well-positioned to meet the increased customer demand, penetrate key end-markets and capitalize on favorable industry trends. With this the company will ultimately reinforce its competitive edge and long-term growth trajectory within the construction sector.
