The move aimed to lower costs for farmers weeks before the midterm elections.
President Donald Trump has issued an executive order that makes a specific kind of tax-exempt diesel fuel reserved for farm and construction equipment available to a broad set of road vehicles in an effort to reduce overall diesel costs.
The type of diesel, known as dyed diesel, is exempt from a 24.4-cent per gallon federal tax, making it a lower-priced option than regular diesel. Some states expanded access to dyed diesel in a similar fashion over recent weeks, providing relief from state diesel taxes.
Dyed diesel is nearly identical to regular diesel, besides a small amount of dye used by law enforcement officers and inspectors to ensure only permitted vehicle owners avail themselves of the fuel.
The executive order on Monday came weeks ahead of the midterm elections, targeting costs ****** ociated with a fuel vital to the supply chain for everything from groceries to clothing to electronics.

Tom Sandoval has secured a two-year restraining order against ex-girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson after months of legal filings stemming from a June confrontation at their Los Angeles home.
A Los Angeles judge approved the order on Oct. 1, extending protection for Sandoval through Oct. 1, 2028. Page Six obtained the court documents detailing the new restrictions.
The order follows the temporary protection Sandoval received in June after accusing Robinson and her father, J. Will Robinson, of attacking him. Victoria Robinson was arrested after police responded to the June 3 confrontation and was released the same day.
Robinson later filed her own domestic violence restraining-order request, accusing Sandoval of physical and verbal abuse during their relationship. Sandoval has denied her allegations.
The new order requires Robinson to remain at least 100 yards away from Sandoval, his home and his workplace. She cannot contact him directly or indirectly by phone, mail, email, text message or other electronic communication.

On September 16, Air Products (NYSE:APD) said it had signed a long-term deal to supply high-purity gases to a leading chipmaker, backed by roughly $250 million of its own money in Arizona. It is the company's second semiconductor supply win, and the two projects together carry more than $900 million of investment. That is a notable turn for a company that has been pulling back from big clean-energy projects.
The Arizona project plays to what Air Products already does. It will build, own, and operate the equipment, from hydrogen generation units and carbon dioxide purification to bulk supply for three gases: helium, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. That means the customer's gas supply runs through equipment Air Products owns. Supply is targeted to start in phases, so the buildout can move alongside the customer's expansion plans. And this is familiar ground. Air Products has supplied electronics makers for more than 40 years, and its Chandler facility has served the Phoenix chip cluster since 1981, with a pipeline system carrying ultra-high purity nitrogen around the area.
The core business gives the deal a solid floor. In the fiscal third quarter, reported on July 30, adjusted earnings per share rose 12% to $3.47, and management lifted its full-year outlook to an adjusted $13.39 to $13.49 per share. Margins widened as well, so growth is showing up as profit. Chips appear elsewhere in the results too, since the company announced a deal to build four large air separation units to serve a chipmaker's growth in Taiwan.
The cost of the pivot is hard to ignore. On June 30, Air Products announced it would not go ahead with its Louisiana Clean Energy Complex and would discontinue a zero-carbon liquid hydrogen facility in Casa Grande, Arizona, plus other smaller clean energy distribution projects. The exits triggered roughly $2.9 billion in pre-tax charges, which is why the company posted a GAAP loss of $6.47 per share in the third quarter even as its underlying earnings grew. Adjusted results leave that hit out, but the GAAP numbers show what the retreat cost.
Owning the ****** ets also means funding them. Air Products expects about $3.5 billion of capital spending in fiscal 2026, and the Arizona plant alone is a commitment of approximately $250 million, with supply arriving in phases. The release also leaves gaps: it does not name the customer or say how long the contract runs, so the length of the revenue stream is unclear. Elsewhere, Europe's operating income rose only 2% as costs climbed, and management says it is still cautious about the economic backdrop.

On September 14, L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:LHX) said it had secured a $60 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to continue producing sensors that let aircrews choose the precise detonation altitude.

The DSU-43/B ******* pit Selectable Height of Burst Sensors (C-HOBS) allow crews to adjust the munition's effect to different targets and mission environments. The system will provide enhanced radar-guided performance, advanced sensing features, and manual and ******* pit-selectable burst heights, the company said in a press release.
The production will take place at L3Harris' Cincinnati facility. The order comes at a time when the defense contractor is expanding the output capacity of proximity fuzes and sensors for the U.S. military to support a wartime footing.
Investors should view the C-HOBS contract as evidence of the company's recurring business with the Air Force on precision-guidance electronics. Despite being small in magnitude, such low-risk and steady order flow underpins the bull thesis for the stock.

Ondas Inc. (NASDAQ:ONDS) completed its acquisitions of GATE Technologies Ltd. and Bron Technologies on September 14, adding electronic safety and fuzing components used across precision weapons. GATE supplies the technology, while Bron provides manufacturing and certification capabilities in Poland.
Base consideration comprises $105 million in cash and $100 million in equity. The SEC filing specifies an additional $25 million working-capital adjustment. Of the stock consideration, approximately $22.5 million is scheduled for issuance within nine months, subject to conditions. Performance payments could add up to $185 million.
The investment question is whether owning qualified components can improve supply reliability and profitability enough to justify the purchase price and manufacturing investment.
GATE's technology is integrated into dozens of weapons systems. Qualification and integration requirements can make replacing a supplier difficult, supporting repeat demand as customer programs enter production. Ondas Inc. (NASDAQ:ONDS) can therefore participate in orders across multiple manufacturers alongside sales of its own systems.
Management says approximately 80% of GATE's revenue comes from outside the Middle East. The combination of Israeli engineering and Polish production provides an established international base. U.S.-produced finished products and integrated systems are targeted for the first half of 2027, potentially expanding access to programs with domestic sourcing requirements.

The U.S. has between 3,000 and 4,700 active data centers, with plans to build another 1,500. Globally, there are about 11,800, with plans to add about 100 gigawatts of new capacity by 2030. All of which creates substantial opportunity for beaten-down stocks such as ASML Holding (ASML). However, to run all of those data centers, the world needs advanced AI chips. Today's most advanced data-center AI processors, manufactured on 4nm, 5nm, and certain 7nm processes, depend heavily on ASML's lithography technology. And as the industry moves toward 2nm production, that dependence on ASML's EUV systems will become even more important.
Some of those companies include Samsung Electronics (SMSN.L.IX), Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TSM), and Intel (INTC). All of which are moving forward with ASML's High-Numerical Aperture extreme ultraviolet lithography systems, better known as High-NA EUV. In short, AI must have powerful chips to run. And those chips are becoming much harder to manufacture, with ASML producing the machines that make their production possible.

On September 10, a caller outlined a detailed financial thesis showing Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) reaching $1,400 and asked whether the **** ysis held water. In response, Mad Money host Jim Cramer said:
I mean, that's a remarkable **** ysis. It's spot on in every single number. Every single thing you said is true, which is why my Charitable Trust owns it, and why we are buying it aggressively. And by the way, can I just say if you listen to what… [the caller] said, he put some money away. He was fortunate enough to have money, which I know not everybody can have, but he had money. He put it in an individual stock. Now, if he put it in an index fund, he'd make some money, but he got really rich. And part of my job is not just to get you rich, but to hopefully get you really rich.
Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) stands as one of three primary global manufacturers of dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and NAND flash memory, positioning it at the center of the ongoing expansion in artificial intelligence infrastructure. Because advanced AI workloads require significantly higher memory bandwidth, demand has surged for Micron's High-Bandwidth Memory (HBM3E) architecture, which is integrated directly into top-tier AI graphics processors and data center accelerators. With memory production capacity for advanced AI chips remaining constrained industry-wide, Micron has secured long-term purchase agreements that cover its HBM output through 2026 and into 2027, providing visibility into top-line revenue growth.
Driven by accelerated AI server adoption and broader pricing recovery across traditional DRAM and NAND markets, it reported extraordinary growth in fiscal Q3. Revenue surged to $41.46 billion, more than quadrupling the $9.30 billion generated in the same period last year and stepping up sharply from $23.86 billion in the prior quarter. The company demonstrated exceptional operating leverage during the period, posting GAAP net income of $28.24 billion ($24.67 per diluted share) and non-GAAP net income of $28.86 billion ($25.11 per diluted share). Operating cash flow also scaled quickly, reaching $25.39 billion compared to $11.90 billion in the prior quarter and $4.61 billion in the prior-year period.
Despite its strong position in the AI supply chain, Micron Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:MU) operates in a historically cyclical memory industry with some operational and market risks. Memory chip pricing remains sensitive to industry-wide supply-and-demand imbalances, where oversupply can rapidly compress profit margins during broader downturns in consumer electronics demand or corporate IT spending.

GameStop (GME) is a Grapevine, Texas-based specialty retailer operating stores and e-commerce platforms under the GameStop, EB Games, and Micromania banners across the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Europe. Once known primarily as a video game and electronics retailer, GameStop has diversified aggressively under Executive Chairman Ryan Cohen, expanding into collectibles, trading cards, pop culture merchandise, and even cryptocurrency and equity investments. The company has become a prominent "meme stock," attracting substantial retail investor attention while pursuing an unconventional capital allocation strategy that includes bitcoin holdings and a sizable equity stake in eBay (EBAY), positioning GameStop as much an investment vehicle as a traditional retailer.
GameStop stock recently traded around $21.15, near the bottom of its 52-week range of $17.79 to $28.10 and below its 200-day moving average. Shares have pulled back significantly from their 2025 meme-stock highs, weighed down by declining video game sales, ongoing store closures, and investor skepticism toward the company's diversification into digital ***** ets and equity investments. The stock did see brief bursts of retail-trader enthusiasm this year, including renewed meme-stock speculation tied to its proposed eBay acquisition, though shares have remained volatile and range-bound as GameStop's core retail business continues shrinking alongside its growing collectibles and investment segments.

Prosper Stars & Stripes, a long/short equity fund, recently released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. The letter can be downloaded here. In Q2 2026, the portfolio delivered a strong net return of +30.1% compared to the Russell 2000 Index's +21.5% return and the HFRX Equity Hedge Index's +10.3% return. The long book drove performance, generating a 43.2% gross contribution, while average net exposure remained relatively modest at 47%. Year to date, the Composite returned +23.7%, slightly ahead of the Russell 2000's +22.6% and well above the HFRI Equity Hedge Index's +9.7%. Additionally, you can review the Portfolio's top 5 holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Prosper Stars & Stripes highlighted Universal Display Corporation (NASDAQ:OLED). Logitech International S.A. (NASDAQ:LOGI) has a market capitalization of $14.14 billion; its stock has traded within a 52-week trading range of $83.32 to $129.66.
Prosper Stars & Stripes stated the following regarding Logitech International S.A. (NASDAQ:LOGI) in its Q2 2026 investor letter:
"This year's market rally has pressured short returns and narrowed the windows to successfully monetize shorts, as we would expect. Certain themes and short ideas do continue to resonate, however. One theme that has had success is the ongoing pressure caused by the investment boom in AI crowding out spending in other areas. We have shorted Universal Display Corp (OLED), Dolby Laboratories (DLB), and Logitech International S.A. (NASDAQ:LOGI) on this theme. We believe cost pressures on technology components such as DRAM to result in higher prices for consumer electronics. This would have a significant impact on back-to-school and holiday spending, the key periods for these companies' end markets. We expect the forecasts that these companies are providing at this time of the year to prove optimistic, as tech cost inflation is unusual. Further, we believe the so-called K-shaped economy, where consumers have felt the pressure of rising costs of living, will continue to squeeze discretionary purchases like these. Rising prices make it nearly impossible to use discounts to stimulate sales, compounding the pressure."

Shares have pulled back significantly from their 2025 meme-stock highs, weighed down by declining video game sales, ongoing store closures, and investor skepticism toward the company's diversification into digital **** ets and equity investments. The stock did see brief bursts of retail-trader enthusiasm this year, including renewed meme-stock speculation tied to its proposed eBay acquisition, though shares have remained volatile and range-bound as GameStop's core retail business continues shrinking alongside its growing collectibles and investment segments.

On September 14, Coda Octopus Group (NASDAQ:CODA) reported third-quarter fiscal 2026 results that quietly crossed a threshold the company had never reached in its public history: positive retained earnings, after years of operating at an accumulated deficit. Revenue rose 9.2% year over year to $7.7 million, and pretax income climbed 16% to $1.8 million, even as instability in the Middle East knocked down the marine technology unit that has long been the company's calling card. The reason the quarter held together anyway comes down to where the growth actually showed up.
Defense engineering revenue jumped 68.3% to $2.7 million during the quarter, and the momentum did not look like a one-time ****** p. Sustainment spares orders have already topped $2.4 million year to date, and one prime contractor customer's new multiyear repair and sustainment award has since fed additional subcontract work back to Coda Octopus. On the newer end of the business, the company's US defense engineering team is now supporting several prime contractors building rugged, deployable RF electronic warfare systems for unmanned platforms, helicopters, airborne pods, and ground vehicles.
The DAVID diving system added its own proof points. Coda Octopus has delivered 24 DAVID systems to the US Navy to date, including 16 untethered units earlier in the year, and the Navy's authorization for use ****** sment on that untethered system was completed during the year, clearing it for full operational deployment. Since the quarter closed, the Navy has placed about $1.4 million in additional orders covering tethered systems and DAVID Flex adoption, including four units bought specifically for diving school and academy training. A European navy that already bought in is also expected to firm up a procurement roadmap later this year, while the new Nano sonar is being tested by subsea robotics OEMs and research groups for next-generation autonomous platforms. All of that arrived alongside $31.7 million in cash, no debt, and a balance sheet management says can fund acquisitions.
None of that offsets what happened in marine technology, the segment that still generates the largest share of revenue. Marine tech sales fell 15.2% to $3.4 million as customer activity slowed across the Middle East and parts of Asia, and hardware revenue specifically dropped 17.8% to $2.3 million. Improved rental utilization, with rental revenue up 131.1%, cushioned the blow but did not reverse it, and management has tied the weakness directly to geopolitical conditions it cannot control.

Arrow Electronics (ARW) stock has gained about 50% over the past six months and then stopped. It has slipped 1.0% over the past three months and trades roughly 9% below its 52-week high. Underneath the run is a machine that pays owners whether or not the price moves: a shrinking share count. It is shrinking more slowly now, and that changes what you are buying.
How Did Arrow Pay You While Its Profit Went Nowhere?
Over the past three years, Arrow's net income grew 0.7% a year on average while earnings per share grew 4.7% a year on average. Most of that gap is arithmetic: it retired about 3.3% of its shares a year on average, so each surviving share held a bigger claim on the same profit. Owners got a bigger slice for doing nothing.
Arrow returned 69% over those three years, about 19.0% a year, and still trailed the 76% the S&P 500 returned over the same span. The stock was up 85% at its three-year peak before giving some back. Retiring shares was one driver of that, alongside earnings growth and a changing multiple.

Qualcomm (QCOM) grew revenue just 1.9% over the last twelve months, against a compound pace of about 6.2% a year over five years and 4.5% over three. The quarterly path is worse. Across the last four quarters, year-over-year growth slid from 10.0% to 5.0%, then to declines of 3.5% and 4.0%. That turn to shrinking quarterly sales is the risk to weigh.

Gold doesn't rise or fall because of a single economic event. Its price reflects the decisions of millions of investors, central banks, manufacturers, jewelers, and others around the world. Those decisions are shaped by changing economic conditions and future expectations.
Understanding what drives the price of gold means learning how multiple forces interact. Sometimes they reinforce one another. Sometimes they pull in opposite directions. That's why different headlines can describe the same market move from different angles.
Every second the global gold market is open, buyers and sellers are negotiating a price — but they're not all buying gold for the same reason.
An investor may be looking to diversify a portfolio. A jewelry manufacturer may need gold for finished products. A technology company may use it in electronic components. A central bank may be increasing its reserves. Another investor may believe interest rates are about to fall.

U.S. economic growth remained resilient despite inflation concerns, elevated energy prices, and geopolitical uncertainty. Markets rallied sharply after easing U.S.-Iran tensions pushed oil prices lower, supporting renewed risk appetite. Small-cap equities benefited significantly, with Information Technology, Industrials, and Health Care leading gains, while Energy declined as crude prices fell. Year to date, the Composite returned +23.7%, slightly ahead of the Russell 2000's +22.6% and well above the HFRI Equity Hedge Index's +9.7%. Additionally, you can review the Portfolio's top 5 holdings to see its best picks for 2026.
In its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, Prosper Stars & Stripes highlighted The Elmet Group Co. (NASDAQ:ELMT). The Elmet Group Co. (NASDAQ:ELMT) manufactures and sells precision-engineered components and high-energy systems for the aerospace, defense and government, industrial, medical, semiconductor and electronics, and energy industries. On September 09, 2026, The Elmet Group Co. (NASDAQ:ELMT) closed at $16.46 per share. Over the past month The Elmet Group Co. Elmet's critical materials division supplies inputs for the U.S. military supply chain that are essential to production and increasingly must be sourced domestically, steering business towards the company. We believe the building of domestic supply chains can benefit Elmet and drive better-than-forecast earnings growth as they grow organically and deploy their underutilized balance sheet to broaden their businesses."
