The 2026 Emmys are kicking off awards season, and all eyes are on Emmy-nominated couple Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell, who stepped out on the red carpet together on September 14.
This year has truly been the Year of Matthew Rhys, who is doubly nominated for his lead performances in Widow's Bay and The Beast in Me. Russell is also nominated for her lead role in The Diplomat. Recent trade acquisition Jaylen Brown is preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season, his first with the Philadelphia 76ers. In a segment on HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday, the comedian reaffirmed his opinion that "the terrorists weren't cowards" which he initially said after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.
"I know a guy whose show got canceled just for saying the terrorists weren't cowards. And that guy was right. They weren't cowards, but I'll tell you who is: Democratic Party politicians," Maher said.

Known for his flamboyant, over-the-top and extravagant designs, Mackie created all the costumes for The Carol Burnett Show variety series in the '60s and '70s, and Cher's looks for her TV programmes, including The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour and The Sonny and Cher Show.
Mackie collaborated with the music legend many times over the years and famously designed her headline-grabbing outfit at the 1986 Oscars, where she wore a towering feathered headdress and a black midriff-baring ensemble.

Jobs supposedly tried to bring ninja throwing stars onto his private plane while heading home from vacation. The "Steve Jobs ninja stars" story quickly becomes one of the most bizarre Apple stories ever.
The company, however, quickly spoils the internet's fun. Cupertino issues a statement describing the reports as "pure fiction" (although Apple acknowledges that Jobs visited **** an over the summer).
Few Steve Jobs stories sound more perfectly tailored to his larger-than-life persona than the tale of him being stopped at a **** anese airport with ninja throwing stars in his luggage. The problem: Apple said it never happened. Still, the story endured — perhaps because a notoriously intense, famously unconventional CEO carrying ninja weapons just feels like the kind of thing people want to believe.
Both Bloomberg and **** anese tabloid magazine Spa! covered the story prominently. Authorities stopped Jobs during a security scan at Kansai International Airport, the reports said, after detecting the ninja weapons in his carry-on luggage.
The stories cited unidentified airport officials and sources within **** an's transportation ministry. An airport spokesperson confirmed that the incident took place, but stopped short of identifying the individual involved.

If you turn to Gordon Ramsay for cooking advice, the legendary chef is probably going to have some useful info, but if it's frozen food you're curious about, the man has sent some mixed signals over the years. As a famous TV yeller/chef, Ramsay is known for speaking his mind on foods he won't touch, and one thing he's been keen to attack in the past is frozen food meals. While many of us might turn to a frozen pizza or burrito for a cheap, quick meal when we don't have the energy to cook, Ramsay once told Bon Appétit it's the one type of food he refuses to eat.
As for why we won't touch frozen food, Ramsay's reasons are understandable, but they're also a little tone-deaf. "It's so easy to prepare a quick meal using fresh produce, such as a simple stir-fry, but people still resort to ready meals that all taste exactly the same," he told the outlet. It's certainly true that there are plenty of quick and easy recipes if you're in a rush and that plenty of frozen foods are of less-than-ideal quality.
But in the life of most non-celebrity chefs, there are times when you simply don't have the ingredients, time, or energy to cook. Additionally, it appears that Ramsay doesn't think every frozen meal tastes the same, or else he wouldn't have launched his own line of frozen meals called "By Chef Ramsay" in 2023. Maybe his frozen chicken pot pie really is that much better?

This dynamic is clearly explained in the company's 2025 10k, where the company states: "Berkshire's common stock repurchase program currently permits Berkshire to repurchase shares any time that Berkshire's Chief Executive Officer, after consultation with the Chairman of the Board, believes that the repurchase price is below Berkshire's intrinsic value, conservatively determined." The only limit on repurchase activity is that it can't reduce the company's cash and short-term investment balance below $30 billion.
Some market watchers had hypothesized that Berkshire Hathaway bought as much as $11 billion of its own stock in the second quarter, but the real number turned out to be roughly $4.5 billion. That said, the number was still quite large and, even then, given the huge cash balance the company has, it didn't put the company anywhere near the $30 billion cash limitation.

Art imitates life imitates...
In summer 2026, word started to spread that the movie star at the center of Rachel Cusk's new novel, Life of M, appeared to draw heavily from the life and career of Natalie Portman, who had previously met Cusk, praised her writing, and promoted her work through her book club. While Cusk has resisted confirming the connection and Portman herself has not publicly addressed it, sources close to the actress have denied that she had any involvement in the book. Life of M is hardly the first time a seemingly fictional character has closely resembled a real-world figure.
Still, as Cusk recently put it to The New York Times, while skirting the question of M's real-life parallels: "Famous people enter the public imagination... it is part of fame's deal, and part of its tragedy."
Here are nine instances in which a celebrity has seen themselves reflected in a fictional character — and weighed in. Many of them didn't bother holding back.

A massive brawl has erupted at ADCC 2026, involving Dorian Olivarez and his famous teammate and coach, Gordon Ryan.
One of the 66 kg tournament favorites in Olivarez finished Bezkat Kapashov in the opening round of a Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) match that was extra chippy and physical. Tensions flared immediately after the submission, with a pretty large Kazakh team contingent confronting Olivarez and his cornermen.
Things quickly escalated to a pretty sizable brawl involving Ryan, Olivarez and the Kapashov's entire team. Ryan was eventually seen on the ground and taking punches while going against three men in a chaotic scene.
ADCC officials eventually pulled people off him to de-escalate the situation, and the scuffle was eventually diffused after a minute. Fortunately, no one seemed to have been seriously hurt.
Olivarez will be able to continue onto the next round. Ryan was seen throwing a thumbs up towards officials as he just immediately went back to his chair on the next mat, as one of his many teammates on the card was still competing.

The 2026 edition of the Bell Game between Pueblo Central and Pueblo Centennial played out on Friday at historic Dutch Clark Stadium.
The famous rivalry game started with a tribute to the country on the 25th anniversary of September 11. The teams, coaches, personnel and fans in the stadium all joined in a moment of silence to celebrate and honor all who were lost.
As far as the game goes, the Wildcats entered the game with a 1-1 record, having just beaten Discovery Canyon on the road 22-21. The Bulldogs came into the game suffering two back-to-back shutout losses and were looking to get back on track against their oldest rivals.
The Wildcats had a seven-game win streak in the Bell Game coming into this matchup, and that momentum would continue this year as they started the game off with a 15-yard touchdown run by Dontez Maes to go up 8-0.
Another touchdown run later in the first quarter by Sonny Vigil increased the score to 16-0. Maes added another in the second quarter and Cordell Hayes also scored in the second to make it a 30-0 game at half.

LONDON, Sept 10 (Reuters) - The first visitors to the British Museum's blockbuster Bayeux Tapestry exhibition spoke of their excitement at seeing with their own eyes the 1,000-year-old embroidery many ‌remember from school lessons.
The sell-out display, which opened to the public on Thursday, has sparked ‌a Bayeux craze across Britain, with newspapers producing special guides, online discussions about securing tickets, and the pub opposite the museum temporarily changing its name to "The Beer Tapestry".
The masterpiece will be shown at the museum in central London for the next 10 months, having left France for the first time since the 11th century. It depicts the Norman invasion of England in 1066, the most famous date in the nation's history.
"It's just magical, isn't it?" ‌said Pauline Gairey, 53, a finance ⁠professional who had travelled from Wales, and recalled studying the tapestry at school.
